I Know Your Lie

"Iris! Have you arrived?!" Anxiously, Max stepped out of his car.

"I've been waiting for you." With his hand, Max tucked the phone into his pocket. There had just been a message from Zoe—whatever it said. Max focused on trying to appear calm as Iris eyed him suspiciously.

"Were you waiting for me? We didn't have plans for today."

Iris spoke with a hint of surprise, while Max kept glancing towards the entrance of the Wolf building, hoping Zoe wouldn't come out right now.

"That's why it's unexpected. I couldn't wait to see you. I missed you." Max gave Iris a small chin pinch, then kissed her lips.

"I only left for a day. Mmm... How did you know I would be back tonight? I was supposed to come back tomorrow, but the event got canceled due to bad weather." Iris was once again puzzled.
