Joseph asked in a worried tone, "What happened to my daughter, doctor?"

Tobias looked at Fiona, who lay on the bed with a pale face and felt extremely complicated. He couldn't make heads or tails of the bizarre emotion in his heart.

"We saved her, but she's not out of the danger yet. We'll need to keep her in the ICU for observation," the doctor said.

"The patient will need some peace now. All of you can't visit her for the time being. You'll have to come back again when she's doing better."

The doctor and nurses wheeled Fiona into the ICU. The group of people came outside the ward. They could watch through the glass and see that Fiona had bandages all over her body.

Her foot was even in a cast, and her nose and mouth were hooked onto a respirator as well. She looked downright miserable.

Tobias saw it and felt a wave of emotions washed over him. He had hated her since he was a little boy, but she had saved him at a critical moment.
