LanceAfter the interrogation, Jon and I discuss our theories about why the Silverhair pack is stooping as low as threatening rogues to spy on our pack. "The Siverhair pack has an army almost as great as ours," I say. "They have dominated most of the packs in their area. They could be playing dirty because they are scared that when it comes time to battle us, they will lose it all.""That makes sense," Jon replies. "I am sure they hoped by hiding behind rogues their snake behavior would go undetected. Although, they'd probably had better luck sending professionals.""Guess they are cowards, " I chuckle. We continue to talk until around 9:00AM. "It is time we go home and get some sleep," Jon says. "Sometime today, I need you to go to the shop and pick up an order from Bill.""Alright," I reply. "I will stop on my way home. See ya' later.""See you later," he says and waves goodbye. Jon has been my best friend for years. I was shy and a bit of a loner when I was younger. Then, one day
Jezebel"I am a rare wolf. Very few know of my talents. Can I trust you to keep a secret?" she asks. I nod, feeling too nauseous to speak. What the fuck is she about to say?"I am a prophet wolf," she confesses. "I dream of prophecies and see visions of the future. The future can change, which is why a Prophet wolf is good to have around. Seeing the future can help save a pack and has helped us prepare for battles and sneak attacks in the past," she explains. "A prophecy can also be changed, although it is more difficult to alter because it is fated by the Gods. I report all my visions to the Alpha. I haven't seen a prophecy in many years, but one was revealed to me last night. I dreamt that the war was ending and we were entering an Era of peace, led by one Great Alpha. A she wolf, with one emerald green eye and one ocean blue eye. I dreamt of you Jezebel."I gulp, as she stares intently at me, expecting a response."I dreamt the same thing last night," I say quietly. My mind is reel
Jezebel"Good evening, sleeping beauty," my Uncle Jedd teases."Good evening," I reply, yawning."I see you went to the store for some food. I apologize for not having any. I will go shopping today," he says, flipping some bacon. "The house looks amazing! I decided to cook for you to show you my appreciation. I will also clean up after. I assure you I will not let the house get messy again.""It was definitely a lot of work, but I am very happy with the results," I say, smiling. "How was patrol last night?""Well, it was interesting to say the least," he says, with no further elaboration. He hands me a plate of scrambled eggs, bacon, and buttered toast. I scarf it down, realizing I am hungrier than I thought."You meet any more members of the pack when you went back to the shop?" Uncle Jedd asks, trying to make conversation, I assume."Yes," I reply, wondering if I should tell him about the Beta's interest in me. I decide against it. "I mean, not really "met, " but seen. Most are cauti
Lance"Did you two idiots forget why we are called the Wolvesbane pack," I ask Marc and Hazel, angry with them for inviting Jezebel to a fucking pool party. Lucky for her I did meet her today and decided to crash the party or she would have been hurt pretty badly. Yes, werewolves can heal, but burns of that severity would be extremely painful and wouldn't heal right away. It pisses me off thinking about her hurting like that."Shit," Marc says. He and Hazel clearly had not thought about Jezebel being new to the pack and not yet immune to the Wolvesbane we have in our water. "Didn't Jedd warn you about the water?" I ask her.She pauses before answering, like she is overwhelmed with the news."No," she says. "But I am assuming from what you have said about the pack name that it has wolvesbane in it.""That is correct," I say. "Maybe you should ditch the party, and we can find something else fun to do," I suggest, sounding hopeful."No," she replies. "I can avoid the water."I try to hid
Jezebel This party wasn't a good idea. Avoiding the water has me feeling extremely awkward in this bikini, and everyone has been staring at me, though I hardly noticed when Lance and I were dancing. He gave me another tingle between my legs, and I don't like the way my body is betraying me. He is not my type, though the more time I spend with him, I begin to understand the appeal. Slow dancing pressed against his warm chest was comforting. Even Jade felt comfortable near his power. He isn't my mate though, and I am not one to sleep around. I am not a virgin, however. There was one wolf in the Silverhair pack I was exceptionally close with. His name is Seth, and we cared for each other deeply. We were both under the age of eighteen, but we believed we were destined to be together. We finally gave into our lust one cold winter night, convincing ourselves we were mates anyway. I was fifteen, and he was seventeen. The next year, he found his mate, and I hid the fact that I was devastated.
JonI sit in my office pondering the events of the other night. I suspected from the description the rogues gave of the men that attacked them that it was the Silverhair pack that sent them. My scouts followed them at a safe distance, tracking them with a GPS tracking device. They confirmed that it was the Silverhair pack that the rogues met with. The rogues couldn't give them much information because our pack is adequately guarded. The Silverhair pack expected more and ruthlessly slayed the two rogue wolves and their son.I can't help but think this may have something to do with Jedd's niece. Jedd is one of my highest ranked Gammas. I trust him with my life, but could he have naively brought an enemy through our walls? She has only been here two days and is already the talk of the pack. Everyone is curious about her and wonders why I allowed her refuge. I myself am wondering the same thing now. Jedd asked me, and I didn't hesitate. Jedd is loyal and trustworthy. I feel that deep in my
Jezebel"How do you know we are mates, Jezebel?" Jon asks.Shit! Can I really tell him I dreamt of him?"Yes," Jade replies. "The Gods reveal stuff to us through dreams all the time. He may have questions, but they will not be for you. He will accept that you dreamt of him. Leave out the rest, though.""Today, I woke up in a fit of arousal. I dreamt of your hands caressing me, your lips kissing me, and your amber brown eyes peering deep into my soul. As soon as I saw your eyes, I knew. You are mine! I do not know why the Gods or Goddess revealed this fact to me before my eighteenth birthday, but they have. I will be eighteen in less than two weeks," I explain. He looks deep into my eyes, as if he truly is trying to peer deep into my soul. Then he kisses me, gentle at first, but it grows more forceful as his hunger for me increases. He pulls away. "Lucky me then," he says. "I would hate having to wait to claim you as mine. My desire to have you is so strong that I might have broken the
JeddMy mind is full of thoughts when Alpha texts and asks if I am home. I don't have patrol tonight, so I will be all night. He sends another text informing me he will be visiting. I can't imagine what he needs. My thoughts are consumed with Jezebel. First, she makes plans and doesn't even tell me. Then, Lance, our pack's Beta apparently likes her. If he is just trying to fuck her I swear I will neuter him. There's a knock on the door and I know that Alpha Jon is here. He is amused by my sickened demeanor and the situation between Lance and Jezebel. He wants to crash the party! I am not in the mood, but I can't refuse. I get up and walk towards the door."Are you driving or am I?" I ask."I'll drive," he says. "It is the least I can do since I am dragging you out."We drive in silence most of the way. Several cars line the road and we have to walk a bit. As we get closer, we hear the sound of music and splashing. I love pool parties!"Jedd?""Yeah?""Why is Jezebel at a pool party?"S
Cassius AKA Caz My twin brother and I just turned 22. As soon as we turned 19, Tristan found his mate, Trinity Henley, the alphas' daughter. I'm still waiting, but I'm not in a hurry. I like my solitude. I love to read and expand my knowledge. My brother is always teasing me about being a book nerd, but our moms love it. They get excited to buy me new books. I'll read anything, but my favorite books are full of mystery, action, and adventure. I love my moms, but they each have a favorite. I was named after our mother, Cassidy, and Tristan was named after our mother, Tisha. Tristan had his first vision when we were 16. Our mother Cassidy is a Prophecy Wolf, and the gift is passed to one child in each generation. Tristan is younger by two minutes. They bond over their gifts, and hence, he is her favorite. Our mother, Tisha, favors me. She calls us the normies. But I'm not a normie. Im just pretending. I see every vision Tristan sees, I just never go into a trance like state. I al
Jezebel Now that all the work is done, it's time for fun. We're celebrating all across the pack with tables of food set up on every corner. Cornhole tournaments. Euchre tournaments. Some of the guys have been playing basketball. There is a lot to enjoy, no matter which part of the pack you venture to. I can't recall a time in my life when I have ever experienced a celebration as magnificent as this! Even a lot of our allies are here. The packs can mingle again, and Uncle Jedd finally found his mate! Her husband died in battle six years ago. She came from the Redwood pack. We sent him to handle some pack business with our new ally, and she happened to be in the vicinity. Her name is Abigail. She moved in with Uncle Jedd right away. They got a bigger and nicer house. She brought her daughter, Evie. She is 22. And her son, Gavin, who is 14. Jon also gets to be reunited with his mom and his siblings. "Oh, she's gorgeous, hunny," Loretta says to Jon after he introduces me. "It's nice t
JezebelI drive as fast as I can toward the entrance of the pack. I can not believe the war has started."Jade?" Silence."Jade!" I cry out nervously, tears cascading down my cheeks. "Please, answer me."Silence."JADE!" I scream. And still... silence. The scream helped alleviate some of the frustration, but I'm still fucking terrified. I'm getting close to the gate. I can see the battle up ahead. I don't know what to do. There are so many wolves a few hundred yards in front of me. Jon is right. In my human form, I am weak. Jade is the real Alpha, not me. Without her, there is nothing I can do. "Jade! What about the vision? Jon does not fight this war alone, Jade. Where the fuck are you?" I growl. The silence is deafening. Maybe this isn't the only battle. Maybe this isn't our time. I decide it's probably best to just turn around and seek refuge with the rest of the innocents like Jon wanted. Before I can put the car in reverse, the passenger door swings open, and someone takes a sea
Spencer"What do you mean they escaped?" I growl.Three of my guards cower in fear before me. The block of cells they were guarding was attacked. Lights cut out. Injections of a sedative given. The fact that Marc and Hazel were discovered in the cell where my prophecy wolves were supposed to be tells me all I need to know. Bonnie and Clyde were plotting to steal one or both of them. The Gods only know where they planned to go because there aren't many options available to them. Going rogue is all they could have done. Stupid. Kids these days just don't have any fucking common sense. And where in the fuck did he get the sedatives? He tried a trick from my book. I bet the security cameras caught them in the act of some things. He must have stolen the sedatives from me. Heathen!"We failed you, Alpha. Punish us as you wish," a cracked voice whimpers, bringing me back to the guards. They all stand there with their heads hung low. They look so pathetic. "Because I need your permission fir
JezebelIt's been almost two weeks since Cassidy and Shirley returned home. Cassidy has been in a coma ever since. She passed out as soon as they stepped through the gates. Everyone is worried. Tisha and Shirley have hardly left her side. The rest of us have been busy. The war is near. We can all feel it in the air. After Marc and Hazel's betrayal and the Redwood pack losing their precious captives, we know we don't have much time. We don't know how much our enemy knows about our pack or the locations of Marc's tunnels. Jon comes up behind me and rubs my shoulders."Stop thinking so much," he lectures. "We have most of the tunnels caved in and traps in the others. It isn't going to be easy for them to get through. We're a fortress," he smirks proudly."It's happening," I reply seriously. "We might win, but it isn't a sure thing. I just wish Cassidy would wake up. Or that we were successful in finding that witch Shirley said helped them escape.""She is tied to the God's somehow. Shirl
Cassidy"I can't believe my mother refused to come with us. I doubt they are going to be very welcoming toward her once we are gone," a voice whispers."Now isn't the time to be crying for mommy. We can't fuck around. We have to be quick if we are going to make it out of here in time," another voice huffs quietly.I can see two silhouettes, but the room is dark, so I can't quite make out who they are, although I have an idea. "Give me the syringe if you aren't going to do anything but whine.""What crawled up your ass and died? You don't have to be such a bitch!" My eyes are adjusting, but I can't see well. Why in the hell is it so dark? "Which one is Cassidy?" One of the voices hisses."Hell, if I know. Great idea cutting the lights.""If I hadn't, then the guard wouldn't have been as easy to take out. Here."One hands something to the other. I hear a scratching sound and then smell sulfur as a match is lit. The match confirms my suspicion that the two intruders are Marc and Hazel
Cassidy"Who are you?" I yell through the bars of our cell door. The girl snickers but doesn't reply."Answer me! What did that dream mean? Why are you here? WHO ARE YOU?" I'm pissed. I don't like mind games."QUIET!" A guard shouts. "Otherwise, you can take a trip to the pit."I have no idea what the pit is, but judging by his sneer, I doubt I want to know. I climb to the top bunk and lie down, huffing. I miss Tisha so much right now. I'm sure she is so worried. I hope she's okay. Wolvesbane pack isn't where she came from, but it has to be where she belongs. I hope Jon and Jezebel recognize that. I hope she's safe. I roll over and face the wall so that my mother can't see the tears slipping down my cheeks. After a few minutes, I hear her get settled on the bottom bunk. Not long after, I drift off to sleep. I dream of the girl and the cup game again. Everything plays out the exact same way. I wake up gasping for breath after choking on the ball again. I sit up in bed and start to scr
JonJezebel and I rush to meet Lance at the other tunnel entrance discovered in the woods. Jedd and Tisha are on their way as well. Their tunnel didn't lead anywhere interesting. It forked off. Each fork led to different spots in the town. Someone had to have helped this kid! If not, he was highly determined and must have started working on them at like the age of ten to have dug as much as he did. My mind is seriously blown at his accomplishment. "How long since they went through?" Jezebel asks, as we approach Lance."About twenty minutes," he responds.Jedd and Tisha arrived just before us. I take a deep breath and help Lance pull the rock door. I rush inside before Tisha can, so that it is me leading this time. We cautiously make our way forward. Our footsteps echo in the eerie silence. Knowing that Shirley and Cassidy were just taken through this tunnel has us all more anxious to secure them than before. It's like when something is right there at your fingertips, but you haven't b
When I first discovered the app, I read books from it. I was intrigued by writing my own book, but I wasn't confident I could do it. After writing over thirty chapters, I felt good about the book I was creating. I struggle with Bipolar and OCD. I am a full-time student and stay-at-home mom. My children are homeschooling. I have a lot on my plate and probably shouldn't have added more. These past two years have been rough, and I have really struggled mentally. Of course, I haven't done well setting aside time to write... Everything has been incredibly overwhelming. I appreciate that people discovered my book and love it. I apologize that I haven't kept up with chapters well enough to keep y'all satisfied. The mean comments have turned this book into a burden that sometimes I feel like I will never get finished. But I am persevering, and for anyone still reading... thank you, and I truly am sorry. My family just made a big move from Indiana to Texas. Once we are settled, I have high hop
