Jezebel"There is still so much about this pack I don't know," I say quietly. My mind is still blown over the underground forest prison. I'm grateful Jon sent my father here. I know it is only because of me that he wasn't imprisoned more harshly. I only hope that Jon doesn't end up regretting his decision. So far, my father has not been very hospitable and may never budge from his point of view. It pains my heart to admit that my father may be too stubborn to change. Hoping he will is beginning to feel like a lost cause. If my mother can't get through to him, then I doubt anyone can."It took me a long time to discover all our pack's secrets," Jon says, assuringly. "You already know a lot more than many of the wolves that have lived here their whole lives, if that makes you feel any better."It doesn't because the issue isn't that I am still discovering how life is here. The issue is my father. We are now back in the front lobby. It is past business hours, so the office part of the p
Jon"You should let me go down there and kick his ass," Jedd growls. "He could use a good beating. Might knock some sense into him!"I don't reply right away. I am irritated myself. I have heard the man has a stubborn streak, but damn. "How 'bout we both go?" I suggest mischievously."Don't joke about it," Jedd chuckles. "I seriously want to punch his lights out.""Then do it," someone growls from around the corner. We quickly turn towards the direction the growl came from. There aren't many lights on, but we can see glowing blue eyes moving towards us."Do it quick," the eyes growl. "I could use some sense knocked back into me." The eyes continue to move closer until they reach the lighted area. We can now confirm that the eyes belong to Braydon."What are you doing?" Jedd asks intimidatingly. He is now standing in front of Braydon with his hand at his throat. "I should squeeze the oxygen out of your body.""Do it," Braydon says, unafraid. "You think I'm scared to die?""Jedd. Step
CassidyThis past week has flown by. Everyone has been so busy preparing for the last battle and planning Jezebel's surprise birthday party. We are referring to it as a surprise party because everyone has been hush about the details, and she has not been kept in the loop about any of it, but we all know she knows something is being planned for her. It's hard to keep her completely out of the know with her keen hearing and observational skills, but she has no idea exactly what is in store for her, which is exciting. Tomorrow is the big day. A day full of celebration, but also a day that may be marred by chaos and destruction. Everyone has been praying to the God's to show grace and leave the annilation for another day. Fingers crossed, they listen. "You look so adorable while deep in thought," Tisha says playfully. She sits up in bed and caresses my back. "Good morning.""Good morning," I murmer back before leaning toward her so I can kiss her lips."Last night was amazing," she whisp
JezebelI awake to the aroma of breakfast. "Good morning, beautiful," Jon says sweetly before kissing me on the cheek. "Happy Birthday.""I can't believe you made me breakfast in bed," I squeal in delight over the feast he has placed in front of me. "It all looks so delicious!" I pick up a fork and start shoveling food in my mouth."Mmmmm, this is amazing!!!! I can't believe you cooked all of this," I smile. "Thank you so much!"Jon's cheeks burn red a bit. " I can't take all the credit," he admits. "Your mom helped me out a lot!""My parents are here already?" I am surprised they have arrived so early. I know they all have a surprise planned to celebrate my birthday today, but I wasn't expecting to see them so soon."They returned to Jedd's for a couple of hours," he replies. "Your mom had the idea of starting your day with a big hearty breakfast in bed. While I can cook, I have never made a whole feast on my own," he admits. "Plus, we haven't really discussed our food likes and di
JezebelUncle Jedd and I have been creeping forward for a while now, but we haven't come into contact with any of our opponents yet. Thankfully, Jon has a huge backyard, with woods extending past the yard or hiding wouldn't have been feasible. I'm assuming his team must have gone deep into the woods because we should have run into someone by now. A few more steps and Uncle Jedd motions for me to stop and listen. After a couple of minutes pass, we don't hear anything, which has us thinking it was a false alarm until someone fires at us. They miss, and we fire back in the direction the paintball come from. One of us makes contact."Fuck!" Lance curses. "I'm going to get you back good for that one," he promises as he makes his way to the penalty area. Jedd laughs. "Can't believe we got him out so.." His words are cut off by a shot to the chest. "Dammit."I duck down and crawl away from where the shot fired from. I need to find their flag. There are only two of us on offense, so I can't r
MarcMy father met my mother not long before my Uncle Elijah decided to finally include him in on pack business. My mother was already pregnant with my sister then. My father must have been born with a bad bone because he couldn't just be content in his brother's shadow. He could have had it all, but he is impatient and greedy. My father got caught in his scheme to betray my uncle, but my uncle didn't have the heart to kill his own flesh and blood or make his betrayal known. Even though my father could care less about my uncles life. He hated my uncle and claims he was a "fag." My father claims that his brother was mated to his beta, but he couldnt prove it. Uncle Elijah was a good leader, and the pack adored him. It is likely that even if he ever did have proof, the pack wouldn't care anyway. The Beta, Kevin, disappeared not long after my uncle died. Most of the pack believes he went rogue after, swearing he'd never be loyal to another Alpha. A few know the truth. He hung himself beca
JonAs soon as Marc reveals that Paul took Shirley, Bill takes off faster than a bullet being fired from a gun. Jedd, Lance, and I quickly take off after him. We don't know what exactly we are about to walk into, but I am positive that Paul is going to regret taking Shirley. With any luck, we will get to them before he has a chance to hurt her. Someone should have done something about Paul ages ago. The whole pack has heard the rumors that he attempted to betray his own brother, and that is why Alpha Elijah decided against making him his successor. Once a traitor, always a traitor. Bill and Shirley's car is still parked in the driveway, which means Bill shifted. Lance's truck is the closest to the back. We climb in, and Lance peels out. The sound of squealing tires and the smoke from burning rubber is a hint to anyone in the vicinity that something important is about to go down. It only takes us a few minutes to get to Paul's house. We can see the door is wide open, and we hear some s
HazelWhile I have heard stories of how the Wolvesbane pack is a better pack than most packs, especially in regard to the treatment of women, my life has been anything but easy. Evil creeps in the darkest corners of any place, and our pack is no different. The truth is that no matter where you live, the ones in power will always be more valued and catered to than those without a title. There will always be a wealth gap, and those living in poverty generally fair worse than those who don't. Tragedy can strike anywhere. Marc's family has always been wealthy, and still, his father is an abusive piece of shit. But being poor is a type of oppression that is hard to escape from. Marc may have trauma, and the effects of abuse are undeniably detrimental. However, he has never gone days without food or had to live in a home without electricity or running water, on top of being abused. He has never had to witness his parents being strung out on drugs or fear being molested by the creepy 'friend
Cassius AKA Caz My twin brother and I just turned 22. As soon as we turned 19, Tristan found his mate, Trinity Henley, the alphas' daughter. I'm still waiting, but I'm not in a hurry. I like my solitude. I love to read and expand my knowledge. My brother is always teasing me about being a book nerd, but our moms love it. They get excited to buy me new books. I'll read anything, but my favorite books are full of mystery, action, and adventure. I love my moms, but they each have a favorite. I was named after our mother, Cassidy, and Tristan was named after our mother, Tisha. Tristan had his first vision when we were 16. Our mother Cassidy is a Prophecy Wolf, and the gift is passed to one child in each generation. Tristan is younger by two minutes. They bond over their gifts, and hence, he is her favorite. Our mother, Tisha, favors me. She calls us the normies. But I'm not a normie. Im just pretending. I see every vision Tristan sees, I just never go into a trance like state. I al
Jezebel Now that all the work is done, it's time for fun. We're celebrating all across the pack with tables of food set up on every corner. Cornhole tournaments. Euchre tournaments. Some of the guys have been playing basketball. There is a lot to enjoy, no matter which part of the pack you venture to. I can't recall a time in my life when I have ever experienced a celebration as magnificent as this! Even a lot of our allies are here. The packs can mingle again, and Uncle Jedd finally found his mate! Her husband died in battle six years ago. She came from the Redwood pack. We sent him to handle some pack business with our new ally, and she happened to be in the vicinity. Her name is Abigail. She moved in with Uncle Jedd right away. They got a bigger and nicer house. She brought her daughter, Evie. She is 22. And her son, Gavin, who is 14. Jon also gets to be reunited with his mom and his siblings. "Oh, she's gorgeous, hunny," Loretta says to Jon after he introduces me. "It's nice t
JezebelI drive as fast as I can toward the entrance of the pack. I can not believe the war has started."Jade?" Silence."Jade!" I cry out nervously, tears cascading down my cheeks. "Please, answer me."Silence."JADE!" I scream. And still... silence. The scream helped alleviate some of the frustration, but I'm still fucking terrified. I'm getting close to the gate. I can see the battle up ahead. I don't know what to do. There are so many wolves a few hundred yards in front of me. Jon is right. In my human form, I am weak. Jade is the real Alpha, not me. Without her, there is nothing I can do. "Jade! What about the vision? Jon does not fight this war alone, Jade. Where the fuck are you?" I growl. The silence is deafening. Maybe this isn't the only battle. Maybe this isn't our time. I decide it's probably best to just turn around and seek refuge with the rest of the innocents like Jon wanted. Before I can put the car in reverse, the passenger door swings open, and someone takes a sea
Spencer"What do you mean they escaped?" I growl.Three of my guards cower in fear before me. The block of cells they were guarding was attacked. Lights cut out. Injections of a sedative given. The fact that Marc and Hazel were discovered in the cell where my prophecy wolves were supposed to be tells me all I need to know. Bonnie and Clyde were plotting to steal one or both of them. The Gods only know where they planned to go because there aren't many options available to them. Going rogue is all they could have done. Stupid. Kids these days just don't have any fucking common sense. And where in the fuck did he get the sedatives? He tried a trick from my book. I bet the security cameras caught them in the act of some things. He must have stolen the sedatives from me. Heathen!"We failed you, Alpha. Punish us as you wish," a cracked voice whimpers, bringing me back to the guards. They all stand there with their heads hung low. They look so pathetic. "Because I need your permission fir
JezebelIt's been almost two weeks since Cassidy and Shirley returned home. Cassidy has been in a coma ever since. She passed out as soon as they stepped through the gates. Everyone is worried. Tisha and Shirley have hardly left her side. The rest of us have been busy. The war is near. We can all feel it in the air. After Marc and Hazel's betrayal and the Redwood pack losing their precious captives, we know we don't have much time. We don't know how much our enemy knows about our pack or the locations of Marc's tunnels. Jon comes up behind me and rubs my shoulders."Stop thinking so much," he lectures. "We have most of the tunnels caved in and traps in the others. It isn't going to be easy for them to get through. We're a fortress," he smirks proudly."It's happening," I reply seriously. "We might win, but it isn't a sure thing. I just wish Cassidy would wake up. Or that we were successful in finding that witch Shirley said helped them escape.""She is tied to the God's somehow. Shirl
Cassidy"I can't believe my mother refused to come with us. I doubt they are going to be very welcoming toward her once we are gone," a voice whispers."Now isn't the time to be crying for mommy. We can't fuck around. We have to be quick if we are going to make it out of here in time," another voice huffs quietly.I can see two silhouettes, but the room is dark, so I can't quite make out who they are, although I have an idea. "Give me the syringe if you aren't going to do anything but whine.""What crawled up your ass and died? You don't have to be such a bitch!" My eyes are adjusting, but I can't see well. Why in the hell is it so dark? "Which one is Cassidy?" One of the voices hisses."Hell, if I know. Great idea cutting the lights.""If I hadn't, then the guard wouldn't have been as easy to take out. Here."One hands something to the other. I hear a scratching sound and then smell sulfur as a match is lit. The match confirms my suspicion that the two intruders are Marc and Hazel
Cassidy"Who are you?" I yell through the bars of our cell door. The girl snickers but doesn't reply."Answer me! What did that dream mean? Why are you here? WHO ARE YOU?" I'm pissed. I don't like mind games."QUIET!" A guard shouts. "Otherwise, you can take a trip to the pit."I have no idea what the pit is, but judging by his sneer, I doubt I want to know. I climb to the top bunk and lie down, huffing. I miss Tisha so much right now. I'm sure she is so worried. I hope she's okay. Wolvesbane pack isn't where she came from, but it has to be where she belongs. I hope Jon and Jezebel recognize that. I hope she's safe. I roll over and face the wall so that my mother can't see the tears slipping down my cheeks. After a few minutes, I hear her get settled on the bottom bunk. Not long after, I drift off to sleep. I dream of the girl and the cup game again. Everything plays out the exact same way. I wake up gasping for breath after choking on the ball again. I sit up in bed and start to scr
JonJezebel and I rush to meet Lance at the other tunnel entrance discovered in the woods. Jedd and Tisha are on their way as well. Their tunnel didn't lead anywhere interesting. It forked off. Each fork led to different spots in the town. Someone had to have helped this kid! If not, he was highly determined and must have started working on them at like the age of ten to have dug as much as he did. My mind is seriously blown at his accomplishment. "How long since they went through?" Jezebel asks, as we approach Lance."About twenty minutes," he responds.Jedd and Tisha arrived just before us. I take a deep breath and help Lance pull the rock door. I rush inside before Tisha can, so that it is me leading this time. We cautiously make our way forward. Our footsteps echo in the eerie silence. Knowing that Shirley and Cassidy were just taken through this tunnel has us all more anxious to secure them than before. It's like when something is right there at your fingertips, but you haven't b
When I first discovered the app, I read books from it. I was intrigued by writing my own book, but I wasn't confident I could do it. After writing over thirty chapters, I felt good about the book I was creating. I struggle with Bipolar and OCD. I am a full-time student and stay-at-home mom. My children are homeschooling. I have a lot on my plate and probably shouldn't have added more. These past two years have been rough, and I have really struggled mentally. Of course, I haven't done well setting aside time to write... Everything has been incredibly overwhelming. I appreciate that people discovered my book and love it. I apologize that I haven't kept up with chapters well enough to keep y'all satisfied. The mean comments have turned this book into a burden that sometimes I feel like I will never get finished. But I am persevering, and for anyone still reading... thank you, and I truly am sorry. My family just made a big move from Indiana to Texas. Once we are settled, I have high hop
