Nickolas; "Where did you run off to yesterday ?!".

"Father you are mistaken, I only went out to clear my head... You... think too much". I replied trying hard to mask my anger, yesterday's massacre still hunts me.

"Whatever! Go have your seat". Nickolas said in a hurry bothered by my presence.

I bowed slightly and moved to seat next to my brother Zeke, feeling his intense gaze on me I turned to him and asked, "Is anything the problem ?".

That cold voice startled him to the core, he turned away and went mute.

Soon the chiefs of the sects came and the meeting started with my stepmother opening the floor.

"My king, we have been invited for a peace meeting by the werewolves". She said with disgust written on her face.

"A peace meeting for what?!", Zeke asked.

Nickolas smirked before replying, "It is said to be an attack made by hybrids undercover, and they believe the vampires are behind it".

'Hybrids' I murmured as my mind took me back to the incident last night with those wolves... That's right they are hybrids, looks like this matter is much more serious than expected.

"Those imbecile's are trying to pin us down again, what's our business with hybrids". The Queen who is my stepmom, said in rage.

"Indeed we have no business with it but their claim is in our favor". Nickolas spoke and the palace went silent in confusion, clearly not understanding what the king meant, but without explaining further I can already discern what my Father is cooking up, 'Manipulation '. Even though we are not behind the making of Hybrids, as long as it makes the other clan fear the Vampires it is a win-win situation.

"What do you mean by that your Majesty?", one of the chiefs stood up to ask.

"Who cares about hybrids, for a peace meeting to be called it means they fear us, well we shall leave it like that ". Nickolas responded with a smug smile.

The chiefs went into a discussion immediately not fully grasping what their king meant.

"Father, I still don't understand". Zeke complained and Nickolas's orbs went black in fury. knowing the king is angry everyone went dead silent but I decided to spice things up a bit.

"We take advantage of this incident to reclaim our foothold among the five clans, we are neither accepting nor denying their claims... Brother, that is what Father meant, isn't that right your Majesty?". I turned to my father after analyzing the situation for the stupid chiefs and my foolish brother.

The dumbstruck look on everyone's face including my Father pleased me to the core, this is probably the first time my voice is being heard in any meeting, to avoid unnecessary trouble for my Mother I have always kept silent but not anymore... It's high time the sleeping demon awakens.

Nickolas was too stunned to speak, "Y..yes exactly ". He stuttered with a rare smile.

I turned to look at my mom and seeing the fear in her eyes I smiled and turned back to my Father.

A chief then stood up and said, "Your majesty, it would be in our best interest to send the Crown Prince to represent the Vampires". The other chiefs nodded immediately like their head was controlled, it was then Zeke stood up.

Zeke; "Father, it would be an honor to take on this responsibility ".

Nickolas stood up and everyone did the same, "Hear my command!". He declared before continuing, "Prince Ethan will represent the Vampire for the peace meeting!". After this being said he disappeared leaving everyone in ultimate shock.

My heart and mind were as calm as ever, I expected this outcome, not because he flavors or cares for me, but because of my origin. I didn't bother wasting any more time in the palace so I turned to leave, in the blink of an eye, Zeke blocked my path.

"What is wrong with you! Have you forgotten your place". He said with his fangs out as if trying to intimidate me.

With my red orbs glowing and my fangs out I moved closer to him, "Brother, what do you mean by 'Forgotten your place'". The sight of him trembling brought a satisfying smile to my face.

"Y..you y..you", He stuttered.

I withdrew my fangs and my orbs changed back to their normal Silver, "Goodbye brother". I walked out with a smile, 'so satisfying'.

I have to get prepared for tomorrow, speaking of the werewolf, my mind drifted to the goddess wolf I met last night, her golden aura was embedded in my memory... I hope I will be able to meet her again.

Getting back to my quarters, I met my mom anxious, pacing to and fro, "Mom". I called out to her.

She immediately turned and ran to my side, "What's going on huh? Why did you challenge your brother? Do you know_". She ranted on and on but I had to stop her, "Mom, at this rate you will deafen me, how about you sit down and we talk". I said and she calmly nodded.

"Ethan, tell me what happened last night, you came back all bruised up so I had Maxwell check you up, do you feel any difference in your body ?". She asked.

With a deep breath, my orbs changed and my fangs elongated.

"You have annexed it". She said in shock.

"I was attacked by hybrids yesterday and I was bitten".

"Bitten?!", She commented in shock.

"Hmm ", I nodded, "Ever since then I felt an immense change in my body, My vampire side is fully awakened but my wolf....".

"It's okay my son, take it one step at a time, just don't let it control you". She said with the brightest smile ever but her silver orbs is just like a loophole of sorrow, I held her hands tight, "From now henceforth, I will never let you suffer again, I will be leaving for the human world tomorrow, please take care".

"Human world?!". She asked shocked.

I greeted my father the minute I entered the hall."Greetings Alpha Lucas", Claudio greeted."You are right on time Claudio", My Father said and moved closer to us, "Tomorrow is the peace meeting, and you shall assist the princess"."I understand Alpha", Claudio responded politely."Tomorrow?, that fast, are there any more attacks?", I asked."Right as we speak, Humans are being attacked from different spheres, we have to do things fast and prepare well for tomorrow because you will be crossing the border"."Hold on a second, the meeting won't be taking place here?", I was stunned for a minute because for centuries all Intra meeting has been held in our clan, but this time we will be crossing the border to the human world. It seems like the matter is graver than I imagined."The meeting will be taking place in the Human world, all the clans will be coming together and I need you to be strong for us". "What is it?", I asked confused."You look so beautiful my eyes are about to pop off, oh goodness I am blinded by your aura", he added dramatically making Ruby and I burst into laughter."Don't worry about anything or anyone Sel, right! Agtha asked me to give this to you", He said with his hands outstretched."What is it?", My hands touched the extremely cold clothing in his hands, and I quickly withdrew my hand."Fairy tears, the essence of three beasts and the root of the Life and death flower. This is the cure she was talking about, you just have to put it on for three days After that you might get your sight back, temporarily though". Claudio explained leaving me stunned. Fairy tears? That is almost impossible to get because it's like asking for their source of power, Three Beast essence!!!! Are you kidding me, not to talk of the root of the Life and death flower, Legends have it that the flower can cure all kinds of injury or sickness but it has been extinct for Decades now, How

We moved to the center of the hall where five majestic thrones stood tall and firm, from the aura the thrones exhibited, one could tell the difference. We sat down and waited for the meeting to commence."Long time no see Lockwood, Alyssia...". Odius teased."Just get talking already ". Lockwood replied all grumpy, it seems the old man hasn't gotten over what happened outside the barrier."As we all know this meeting is being held because of the sudden invasion of hybrids and their unknown origin. As we speak the Human world is facing the most attack, my guess is our anonymous enemy is right here in the human world". Odius explained. "Human world? Tch! Are you sure... I'd say we check the Vampire Empire". Alyssia spoke in hatred."I agree with Alyssia, since they have a hybrid as a Prince, what is stopping them from making more!". Lockwood added.Just like Father wanted the other clans suspect the vampires because of my origin, but this can't work, we need to get the real culprit,

"Then what is our way forward?". Odius asked."Unity_". Alyssia said, and for the first time, I agreed with her."At this point, we must all work together". King Lockwood added."Also, let's check the most attacked areas to see if we can find any clue". Prince Ethan suggested. "Agreed, there's no way the culprit won't leave a trace". Odius said."If that is the case then I 1do not think all of us together is a good idea". I voiced out honestly."What do you mean Princess?". Odius asked."I'd say King Lockwood and the great one, return to their respective clans, meanwhile I, and Prince Ethan and will handle things here", I explained briefly. "What Princess Selene is trying to say is, The fairy kingdom and the witch clan, need their rulers in a time like this. Any updates will be communicated anyways, since we are not sure of the identity of our hybrid maker it is best all clans hold their ground ready to face any attack". Prince Ethan explained carefully making me smirk."Alright,

King Lockwood asked.Odius sighed before replying, "Not good, the attacks are getting more and more rampant, if this continues I won't be able to hide it again, if this gets to the council I don't know how to face them".So there is a council for the Human world, no wonder Odius was so unsettled."Great one, King Lockwood, How is it over there?". Selene asked calmly. "Very Serene, No sight of the hybrids at all, I heard your Dad sent some wolves to scout for hybrids but they returned empty-handed". Blood. Smoke. Screams. The battlefield was chaos incarnate. A blur of blades, claws, and death.Hybrids surged in waves—dark, snarling creatures with eyes glowing like cursed embers. They didn’t tire. They didn’t retreat. Every time one fell, three more took its place. My sword tore through flesh and bone, spirit energy pulsing with each strike, but still they came.“Selene, left!” Ethan shouted.I spun just in time to see a hybrid leaping at me, its claws ready to rip into my side—but Ethan’s blade was faster. It slashed through its midsection, black blood splattering across the ground. Our backs met.Our rhythm was a deadly dance—swing, duck, parry, strike. Two hearts. One beat. One blade. We moved as one.He covered my blind spots. I watched his flanks. The battlefield bent to our pace, enemies falling with each pass. The sky thundered above us, ash raining down like cursed snow.Across the field, Ruby’s arrows flew like guided lightning—each one landing with deadly precision. Eira

The ringing in my ears faded into screams and the pounding of terrified footsteps. I pushed myself off the ground, my heart thundering as my eyes searched through the smoke and flames."Selene!" I heard him before I saw him—Ethan’s voice tearing through the chaos like a blade.I turned just in time to see him rushing toward me, dust and worry etched into every line of his face. I ran to him without thinking and threw myself into his arms. He caught me, holding me like I was air and he’d been suffocating."Are you okay?" he asked, his voice raw, desperate.I nodded quickly, trying to mask the shaking in my limbs. "Help the children," I whispered against his chest. He nodded without question and turned away, already barking orders and shielding the small ones caught in the confusion. I spun around, grabbing a dazed woman by the arm and guiding her behind the larger tents for cover. Another explosion sounded, this one farther away, but no less terrifying. My eyes darted around the crowd.

“I should get ready,” I said, brushing my fingers gently down his cheek. He nodded but didn’t move to let me go. “I’ll walk you back.”We walked hand-in-hand regardless of the eyes on us, the soft grass cool beneath our feet, until the lights of the pack grounds began to shimmer ahead of us, little orbs of amber and gold floating through the air like fireflies. Music thrummed faintly in the distance—drums, flutes, laughter, and the sweet scent of roasted honey fruit and grilled spice meat drifted through the air.The Night Festival had begun. He left to get ready while I also prepared.By the time Ruby came to get me, I had already changed into the dress Imara picked for me—deep emerald green with silver threads woven through the fabric like whispers of starlight. It flowed around me like mist, soft and regal.“My lady,” Ruby breathed as she fixed the last flower in my hair, “you look breathtaking.”I gave her a small smile and nodded. “Thank you, Ruby. When we arrived at the heart of

"My lady, you have not had rest since you left your room this morning—you look pale," Ruby said, her voice laced with concern."My lady, just let us do the rest," Eira chimed in gently.Imara gave a small, firm nod beside her.I smiled at them, warmth blooming in my chest. Their loyalty… it always amazed me."Thank you for your care," I said softly. "I’m fine. You all can go and prepare for the night festival." I paused, glancing at Ruby with a knowing look. "Let me know when it’s almost time.""Yes, my lady," they said in perfect unison before walking off, leaving a quiet hush in their wake.I turned and made my way back to Serene Lake. And then—I saw him.“You’re back,” he said, and just like that, the tension in his shoulders melted. His eyes—those deep, storm-touched eyes—lit up like a dawn I could only dream of.I smiled, a real one this time, from somewhere deeper than my bones. I nodded, and before I could say a word, he was already on his feet, wrapping me in his arms. His hug

The second I saw her—her long silver robes flowing like moonlight, her steps slow but full of purpose—I broke composure and ran.“Aunt Agatha!”I threw my arms around her before I could stop myself. She felt thinner than I remembered. Her once-strong frame now felt like delicate twigs beneath soft velvet. Her scent was familiar, earthy and warm, but there was something different—fainter, like a flame struggling to stay lit.She stood stiffly, but her hand reached up and gently patted my hair, the motion careful, calming.“My little flower,” she murmured.I pulled back just enough to look into her face. Her eyes, once sharp with mischief and magic, were shadowed by fatigue. Her cheeks were hollow, her skin pale beneath the soft lines of age and wisdom.“Aunt Agatha, are you alright? You look unwell.”“I’m alright, little flower,” she said with a smile that didn’t quite reach her eyes.I didn’t believe her. But I nodded anyway. Now wasn’t the time to argue.“I need the barrier strengthe

SELENE'S POVEthan is right—nobody is ever truly ready for war.The thought echoed in my mind, sharp and undeniable. His words hadn’t just settled in—they rooted themselves in my chest, heavy and unrelenting. The truth of what was coming was no longer some distant threat. It was here. And it was hungry. But my fear wasn’t about war alone. It was about him.My mate.My Ethan. My heart clenched painfully as the image of him flickered in my thoughts—his eyes dimmed by something that did not belong to him, his voice edged by a force older than memory. I had felt it myself… when I touched him. A shadow, ancient and relentless, coiled beneath his skin. And now I understood.Iris’s fear hadn’t been overblown or dramatic—it had been real. And now, it was mine too.But there was something else… something I could control.I could suppress the darkness within him—still, it, quiet it as a mother calming a violent storm cradled in her child’s soul. I couldn’t remove it… not yet. But I could hold i

The moment I swore those words, the air around us snapped—charged, alive. The wind stirred unnaturally, rustling the trees in a sudden gust. A strange pulse rippled through my chest like a silent drumbeat. Then came the burn.Subtle at first—like static crawling beneath my skin—but it quickly intensified. My breath caught. A pressure built inside me, raw and ancient, tightening around my lungs. But I didn’t let go of her.Not yet.I ground my teeth and forced myself to stay calm. I wouldn’t show weakness. Not in front of her. Not when she needed my strength. But I felt it—something inside me shifting. Unfurling. Watching.A presence that did not belong.I drew in a sharp breath and finally released her, rising to my feet. The earth trembled beneath me, only slightly, but I felt it. Power thrumming just beneath the surface of my skin. My hands were shaking, not from fear—but from the sheer force of what was clawing its way to the surface.“Selene...” I turned from her, holding out my h

I clenched my fists so tight that my nails dug into my palms. The words came out in a low, jagged rasp, each one heavier than the last. "A force on par with the celestial realm. The maker of the mutated hybrids that terrorized our realm... and the human realm. The dark overlord." The weight of those words seemed to settle over the room, thickening the air, and I could feel my chest tightening as if the mere mention of that name might bring terror to it."Alexander the First," Alpha Lucas completed, his voice colder than usual. His expression matched the gravity of the situation, something I'd seen before—a reflection of deep worry masked by controlled composure. But then my gaze turned to Selene, and everything in me stilled. She was sitting there, poised as always, her fingers curled around her teacup with quiet elegance. There was no sign of shock, no flicker of fear, nothing that should've been there when faced with such a threat. She was... calm. Too calm. And then she smiled. It

Natalie’s knock was soft, almost timid. "Your Highness, Alpha Lucas summons you." Her voice pulled me from the wreckage of my thoughts. I stood slowly, my limbs aching, my mind a haze of guilt and regret. The room still reeked of her scent—faint now, like a ghost clinging to the edges of my soul. I opened the door, and Natalie stood there, her expression tight with worry. Her eyes darted to the blood on my sleeve—I had missed a spot. "Find Claudio," I said quietly. "Tell him to please check up on her." She gave a small nod and turned without a word. I shut the door and leaned against it for a second, exhaling shakily. My heart thudded dully against my ribs. I didn’t want to face him. I didn’t want to face anyone. Not when my hands had nearly taken everything from me. I dragged myself into the bathroom. The mirror above the sink was cracked—mocking me with jagged reflections. I couldn’t even look into my own eyes. I washed my face in silence, scrubbing harder than necessar
