“You bastard! Show yourself!” She was seething and wanted to ripe his eyes out, when she could get her hands on him.

Oh, he would pay in her dreams tonight, if he dared to show up.

He laughed and cast to her, ‘I am looking forward to your feisty dreams tonight.”

“Stop this. You are going to drive me crazy. Please just let me be. Please.”

She started to cry when the door opened and Randy took one look at her, asking “What the hell is going on?”

“I just can’t do this Randy. Not today. I just need to go home. I am sorry.” Tears were flowing down her face and she was a bundle of nerves.

She sensed Matthais was still there and suddenly she felt calm and turned to Randy, “I cannot take that job.”

“Why not? You deserve it. Emma, you have worked so hard for this and you are telling me that you are walking away from your dream job. This opportunity will never come again. Walking away now is the end of your career at this company.”

“I know. I can’t explain it but I can’t take the job.”

Emma wiped the tears away from her eyes as they were falling faster now.

She heard Randy as he huffed at her, “Emma, what is going on?”

“I just need to take today off and ...” she stopped and tried to clear her wandering mind.

Emma stood up and walked to the window and closed her eyes and suprisingly she asked her ghost what to say.

Matthias cast to Emma, ‘Tell him that you will be moving soon and you can provide him with more details over the coming weeks.’

She was fighting with Matthais until she was interrupted by Randy again.

Slowly Emma turned around and looked at him and finally said, “I will be moving soon although I cannot provide you with an explanation at this time. I am truly sorry, but I am going to go home now. I need to move out of the hotel and find a place for a month or so, before I leave.”

Randy looked at her and was confused. This was not the Emma he knew; upwardly mobile and highly aggressive in the boardroom.

He sat on the edge of her desk and asked her, “Emma, what is going on? Really? Are you ok?”

She wanted to ask for help because she felt like she was going crazy but instead she looked Randy in the eyes and replied, “Randy, I am not ok but there is someone helping me get through this. I am going to take today and tomorrow off and will be back on Monday with a clear head.”

“Are you sure?” For once Randy was serious and truly concerned about Emma's well being.

“Yeah! I am in good hands.”

She smiled at him and she figured his thoughts must be fairly decent or her ghost was controlling him. Somehow, she realized this was one of his secret powers that she wasn't to sure that she really liked.

Once Randy left, she was alone again in her office and she spoke out loud, “Ghost, let's go home. I need to sleep and we need to talk.”

She heard just one word before she walked out of her office, ‘Gladly.’

Emma walked back to the hotel as quickly as she could. As soon as her hotel room door was shut and locked, she felt his presence again and she decided to tease the hell out of him by slowly undressing and asking him what he wanted.

First, she kicked off her shoes and then took off each earring slowly and then she let down her red mane of hair.

His scent was growing stronger and she teased, “Do you like what you see?”

‘Yes!’ he cast to her but remained as silent as always.

“Then you will like this too!” she taunted.

Taking off one button at a time!

She licked her lips, seductively and waited for his reply.

Nothing.

Matthias was fighting her seduction and he was going to lose this battle. He watched as her shirt fell to the ground and she let her skirt fall next.

She continued with her onslaught of torture as she placed her hands on the back of her bra and wondered, “Oh, would my ghost want to see what is behind this black lace?”

She unhooked the bra but just held it in place and grabbed a blanket and wrapped it around her body as she fully undressed underneath and away from his prying eyes.

Emma curled up on the bed under the blanket and try as she might, she couldn’t fall asleep. She was too wound up with the events of the morning and although she enjoyed teasing her ghost, she was still very angry with him and wanted to punish him.

Matthias sensed her frustration as she laid there and he cast to her ‘I can help you fall asleep. Would you like that?’

She groaned and reluctantly said, “Yes!”

Within seconds she was asleep and he waited for about twenty minutes for her to fall into a deeper sleep and he entered her dreams and found a very angry soulmate that was not in the mood to forgive him, but he was in the mood to seduce.

This time, he took her to his bed chambers, where he would seduce her beyond her wildest dreams and she would give in, forgetting all of her anger as their souls intertwined more deeply.

Emma looked around at their surrounding and seeing that they were in a bedroom, infuriated her even more.

“How dare you? You are such a manipulative bastard! I hate you!” Emma screamed at him and he just let her get her frustration out as he watched her for a few minutes.

Matthias approached her and pulled her into his embrace as she tried to fight him off but his lips were just too tempting to stay angry at as he asked, “Can I kiss you?”

Lifting up her eyes to meet his eyes, she gave him permission and he kissed her gently and as they pulled away, then he suggested that they talk for a moment, “Emma, there is much I need to tell you before you turn.”

“I am not turning into any monster with you. Sorry. Nope! Not going to do it!” She was trying to be brave but it wasn’t working.

Their souls were starting to bind and it was getting harder to resist him.  She needed him but she was still trying to push him away from her.  This was all just to fast for her and she needed time to process her ghost.

“Emma, listen to me. You are my soulmate and I am yours. We cannot deny the feelings that we have for each other and they will only grow stronger. Do you understand that? I think that you do, deep down.”

Matthias brushed her hair away and kissed her soft skin and moaned as he was barely in control of his body.

It was betraying him by the second.

“You are not turning me. Not yet. I will not deny that you are an irresistible pull to me but nothing more. I will not deny or reject you but I sure in hell do not trust you. You just made me lose my dream job. This mess is all of your fault. Why did you have to find me?”

“Emma, I understand. Please, forgive me for today but you will need to turn soon. I have enemies and if they find you, you will not be able to fight them. Emma, I need you to trust me and,...”

Before he could finish, she placed her hand over his mouth and scolded, “Trust you! I don’t even know your name and you just ruined my job! No! I don’t think so. I don’t and won’t trust you, ever!”

“Emma,” Matthias sighed as he held her hands in his, before adding “Listen, I know this is a lot, but my name has power and until you are mine, I cannot reveal it. There are powers that you will be given and you will be greater than a VP in some human company. Believe me! Far greater.”

She sneared at him, “Then reveal your human form to me and show me that you trust me. Why all of this hidden ghost nonsense? It’s creepy.”

“If I reveal myself to you before you turn, my enemies will find you. They will know that I have a mate and they will kill you. Every moment until you turn, you are in danger. Grave danger. For that, I am truly sorry.”

Emma tried to back away from him. Hell it was her dream, afterall, but he was in control and took her into his arms and cast to her images of his enemies and the brutality of their hatred.

When he finished, she was scared but gave into his touch as he slowly ravished her body and fueled the fire of her desires with each touch upon her skin.

The pull to mate was stronger than Emma could handle. She wasn’t strong enough to resist him, regardless of how much she hated him.

Matthias whispered, in the heat of his passion “Someday you will be my queen.”

The cobwebs of sleep kept Emma tethered between the dream world and reality, under the covers in their bed. She breathed in the hazelnut scents and sighed in utter contentment, just as she wondered where Matthias had disappeared to. Before she could take her first sip of coffee, she heard a noise outside on the balcony and wondered if he was relaxing. With that thought in mind, she placed the coffee and hopped out of bed. She slipped into a pair of cozy PJs and grabbed her coffee, taking her first sip of the day. Suddenly, Emma felt like she was on fire from the inside out as the poison worked through her system.
