Celine's POV
Surely not a fan of midday sleeping, I woke up in wonder if I slept until the next morning. But because of the sunset's light coming through the window, I sighed in relief. Then I looked around to look for the clock, which is hanging on the wall, but I forgot which direction. But instead of finding the clock, it was Joshua's face I have found.
He's sitting on the floor, leaning his head on the couch while sleeping.
'Why is he here? I mean... he should have woken me up instead of waiting and falling asleep in that state.'
While I was struggling whether to wake him up or just leave him as it was, I stared at his peacefully still face. Biting my lips, my hand raised. If I wanted to avoid waking him up, I should tap his head with a delicate touch. Or else...
'Wait. Why should I touch him?'
I quickly withdrew my hand and clenched it against my chest.
'That was close!'
When the brain and the heart both are on overload and to get away is the only chance to survive, you run. That's what I did. I ran fast. My body is on flight mode as it focuses on my escape. It stayed on my head as if they were pictured in slow-motion. I could feel the scream of my lungs and the will of my soaring muscles to go beyond what exercise could demand. In this moment, I am least proud of who I am, for I failed to be a good woman. Catching my breath, I stopped in nowhere. Everything around me looks the same, except the fountain in the middle of a huge garden. If I came back near the entrance, that means Joshua is now way too far from me. But the guilt stayed close in my heart. I shut my eyes and soon regretted that I did. Because the second dark invaded my sight, I vividly remembered what happened before I came here. His soft lips. His shaking eyes. And his tears. I let a man kissed my
"But something is intriguing," Jiz continued. He narrowed his eyes and brushed his chin with his index finger. "My daughter said that Celine's real father has died a long time ago and that she was born without knowing her mother. Yet, the other source said, Celine was living with her mother before her step brother found her and brought her to their father. Weird, right?" "..." "The orphan's background from the past and today is so different." 'This man. This sneaky man... tries to threaten us. I bet he knows something about HongYoonChoi since he called Jeonghan as Young Master. Is he Joshua's enemy?' "You heard it wrong," I, who remained quiet for a while, returned my response. "It was Celine's step dad who died before. Her mother left her to our care when she was a baby so she didn't meet her until we graduated high school. They reunited soon after. And it's true that Mr. Jeon is her father." "H-Huh?" He stuttered. "B-But..." "See? I
Wonwoo was playing games on his phone while laying at the top of his bed. The AC is on and a thick gray blanket was wrapped around his lower body. After finishing a cup of hot chocolate, he put his greasy mug under the warm light of the lamp and in front of the bedside clock. It was a relaxing time, perfect to rest his body after working today. However, he feels bored for doing something that every hardworking people enjoys. "My sister isn't home yet," he sighed while looking at the ceiling. His phone rested above his sturdy tummy and his two hands supported the weight of his head. Before going inside his room, he surely told the maids to inform him once they spotted his sister step in the mansion. He can use his audio bugs, which were installed in every corner of the place, though. Still, the excitement differs when he'll listen vs. when he'll hear the information from the third person. He wasn't like this. His old habits of gaining the information by himse
Celine'sPOv I didn't waste my time and dashed inside the Jeon's mansion. The head butler was trying to say something as soon as I showed my face in front of the entrance but I didn't bother listen. Because I knew what it would be. My legs are too short to bring me quickly to the living room but still, I tried my best even if my lungs shout out.'Why is this place so huge?! Argh!'complaining this in my head, I arrived at the living room with Minghao. If Mingyu came here and saw my step brother, they'll probably fight; that's what I thought. Main reason is their opposite personalities. In addition to that, Mingyu might hate the idea that I'm living with men who don't share my blood. So he came to check my fake brother and father. On the other side, Wonwoo loves to provoke his conversation partner's weakness. So I was sure they are fighting when I heard the scream from the garden.However...
"Reporting live from Gangham station, I'm Woozi Lee of MCB. Back to you Jed." "And cue!" The camera man ended the shoot. "That was a good job, Woozi." Nodding his head as he removes the audio mic out from him, Woozi took a glance at the police line around the public restroom in a corridor of a building near the subway station. After he received a report of the murder case of a 21-year-old woman, he and his team dashed in the area to give the report. What made Woozi famous as a reporter is because of his quick-witted deduction of understanding the situation in every scenario. It's the most important factor a reporter must have but a piece of cake for HongYoonChoi's best spy. "Whoever did this is psycho," his camera man complained while Woozi was looking at the CCTV camera up above. He gave the equipment onto the cameraman's hands without breaking his gaze towards the three cameras that were installed around the area. Tuesday night, the vi
Joshua's POV "Did you learn Portuguese when you were in Brazil?" Woozi asked Seungcheol. Sitting with opened legs and arms resting above his knees, Seungcheol detached his red lips. "I know one," he answered. He breathed in and out with his nose, leaned his back against the couch and uttered, "Sinto muito sua falta. Entao eu voltei o mais rapido possivel." Learning another language was one of Seungcheol's least favorite things to do. As well as Jeonghan. Whenever we took language lessons together, Jeonghan always skipped and even dragged Seungcheol with him. So, it's incredible that he learned two sentences of Portuguese during a small period of time. Woozi, who flung the question, slowly tilted his head to my side. Then he mouthed: [What's does it mean?] It followed by Seungcheol's cold look as if he's telling me not to ever translate his words. Because if I do, he'll feel embarrassed. 'Thenwhy did he
Why does it feel so pleasant to be in a coffee shop? First, because of coffee. If you like coffee then you probably like being close to where it's served. Second, people. Whether you come with a lover, a family, a friend or to enjoy alone time alone, going to a coffee shop is a good way to get out of the house and get some feeling of being socialize. Third, the feeling of being productive. And fourth, having a routine. Even a spontaneous person will probably enjoy the feeling of having a routine sometimes. Whatever the reasons why, Celine watched the customers inside her cafe. There are fewer people presents than yesterday. "Is it because of the rain this morning?" she wondered. A customer went to the counter to order. It is a girl with chubby cheeks and cute ambience. She's shorter than Celine and maybe much younger so Celine guessed she's a college student. 'Cute!'Celine gasped inwardly while watching the girl and how she fixed her ro
Celine's POV Another tiring yet peaceful day has come to end. I trained with Wonwoo this morning, worked 6 hours in the coffee shop, went home, grabbed dinner, took a shower and now resting on my bed. Every time a peaceful day like this comes, I get pretty nervous to wake up at the next day. "Wonwoo didn't join me for dinner," I mumbled while hugging my pillow. "And Minghao went to bed even if I don't beg him to leave me and rest." 'Plus, I metWoozithis early afternoon. I wonder why everything went on my way?' A scary answer popped in my head — it is to compensate me for my future encounter with the leader of HongYoonChoi. I know I can't avoid him forever. Besides, I need to talk to him about the Wen's matter which always put on hold. "Maybe tomorrow?" 'ShallIgovisithimtomorrow?' "No. What if he's busy? That's right. He's a busy man. I'll meet
