Vincent’s POV

She walked through my door, looking so fucking irresistible and I had to remind myself continuously that I was supposed to be angry at her, and not staring stupidly at her.

You sent for me sir? She asked calmly as soon as she was few feet away from my table.

My eyes moved to her face, and I noticed a few more traces of tears, and of course her eyes were completely red, making it very obvious that she had been crying. I felt a little pain in my chest after realizing that she had been crying.

It’s past lunch break, and yet you are not back at your work space, instead I find you turning my company into a lovers play spot. Care to explain why? I asked her with my hands fixed in my pant’s pockets, as I stared at her, with no hint of amusement on my face.

She looked confused briefly, and then something that looked like recognition flashed through her eyes, and she sighed, her face never leaving the sad spot even for once.

I’m sorry sir, it wouldn’t happen again. She

Elena's POV I felt someone tapping me and I groaned. Let me sleep Amelia please, my ass of a boss made me work so much and now I am so tired. I wanted to go see mother today, but he refused to let me go. I groaned, and surprisingly she stopped tapping me. Happy that for the first time, she listened to me and left me to sleep, I smuggled closer to my pillow, holding it as though my life depended on it. My pillow smelt nice, it smelled expensive and masculine. Unlike other pillows, this one was a bit too strong for a normal pillow, but surprisingly I felt so comfortable lying on this particular pillow. Slowly, my eyes opened, and I found myself staring at an unfamiliar ceiling. The roof was dark and car like. No, I have to be dreaming. Am in a car or something? Unwilling to sit up yet, I let my eyes sweep the environment, until they settled on him….Ahhhh… I screamed and quickly sat up, moving as far away from him as possible. He was there staring down on my face with an u

Elena's POVI looked in between father and son trying as best as possible to hide the fact that I was surprised at the development. You know you still have a lot to learn as regards to our family business, and I wouldn’t want any form of any misconducts and disgrace. Mister Blackwood said as he continued eating in a dignified manner that displayed so much of his authority. My eyes slowly shifted to my boss who was sitting opposite me just in time to see him clinging his fists from rage, and his face held a great amount of rage, much more bigger than the frown that had appeared on his face when I poured hot coffee on him. I couldn’t help but wonder why he believed that his son was capable of disgracing him in business. In as much as I detest my boss, I always stand for the truth which is that my boss was one of most successful business men in the world. Suddenly enraged by his arrogance, I found myself defending my annoying boss for reasons still unknown to me. With all du

  • The Scoundrel's Hero   Chapter 26

Vincent’s POVI watched her run off and I felt a little discomforting thud in my chest, and I sighed deeply. I watched her quietly until she was in the safe hands of her house, and that was when I turned to Duello whose eyes were fixed on me from the rear- view mirror. Let’s go to the base! I told him, and he nodded and resumed driving. His face I realized held a full look of confusion, and though knowing fully well the reason for that, I didn’t feel entitled to ask or explain anything to him. I was already feeling low spirited, and I wasn’t sure if it was a result of the fact Elena running out of the car crying or because of the terrible news I Just received. When she defended me before my dad, I had felt a rush of warmth run through me for that single action of hers, and seeing her relate so well with my mother brought so many emotions I haven’t felt for a long time rushing back into me. I knew I was being selfish for having to force her to pretend to be my girlfriend in

Narrator’s POVThe questions were building right inside of her, but she wasn’t sure how she will ask it so as to sound less suspicious. I will take care of your mother’s surgery and all, all you have to do is to pretend to me my girlfriend. He said seriously, and a chill ran through her. If he could easily find out about her mother, how sure was she that he didn’t know about her deal with her dad over him. How…… how did you know about this? She managed to ask, and he seemed confused. Know about what exactly? He asked in confusion which she wasn’t sure if it was real or not. Stop playing with me Mister Blackwood, how did you know about my mother? She asked in rage, and he let out a “oh” sound as realization drawn to him.Well, you made mention of her a couple of times so……. I did? She asked in surprise, and he turned to look at her with a look that questioned her sanity. You don’t remember? He asked, and she shook her head in reply. When did I ever tell you about my

Narrator’s POVIt felt like another terrible dream for her, waking up back into reality, she didn’t know what to take for her terrible flashback. “Fuck, it is happening again”. She muttered as she held unto her head in pain, and she groaned in discomfort. She had returned home from an outing with her boss, and falling into a deep slumber, she didn’t realize on time that she was dreaming about her past to the extent that she was becoming confused yet again. Vincent had promised to take care of her mother’s surgery, and also pay her a huge amount of money only for her to pretend to be his girlfriend for 3 months. It all felt too good to be true, and she began to doubt the possibility that it was all true. Just as she was about to move out of the bed, a text entered her phone, and picking it up, she saw the name of the sender, and a little smile came to her lips. A flashback from when they were back at the car came rushing back into her head, and she bit her lower lip trying to preve

Vincent’s POVBeing with her felt so right, and so true that I became afraid for my own personal sanity. She was everything I didn’t dare wish for, and the thoughts of having her so close to me felt so…….. Good. After dropping her by her place, I proceeded back to my house where I met Damon sitting on my couch, and eating from my cup of popcorn while watching a show a television, ad though he owned the place. I groaned in discomfort. Can one ever have a peace of mind in his own house! I wondered aloud, and he turned to me with his annoying grin on his face. Hello Vince. It is nice of you to finally join us in here. He commented sarcastically and I rolled my eyes at the sarcasm. For how long have you been in here? I asked as I took a seat beside him with a frown on my face. Um… let’s say, for as long as you've been inside your Lamborghini with who ever was that. He replied sassily and my eyes widened from surprise.Suddenly, I began absolutely glad that she had refused to come ins

Elena's POVHe crashed his lips on mine, and I stood there frozen, and unable to move. It all felt like a dream, but I had to live in the moment anyway. Suddenly, I got carried away with the kiss, and began to kiss him back as though his lips were made of honey, and something began to build at the depth of my stomach. When he broke the kiss, I became a breathing mess. I suddenly became too shy to look into his eyes. You look beautiful darling. He said as soon as we broke the kiss, and I kept hiding my flushed up face. I turned in time to see Amelia staring at us, and that was when I remembered that I had dragged her out to introduce her to my boss and fake boyfriend, and suddenly I realized how stupid the whole idea was. Um, baby, this is my best friend Amelia, Amelia meet my boyfriend. I managed with a forced smile, which the both mirrored immediately. Hi Amelia, it’s nice to meet you. I am Vincent, your friend’s boyfriend. He said stretching forth a hand for a handshake, with

Elena’s eyes widened in disbelief; her mouth wide agape. It took her a while to fully download what he was saying. When she finally processed what he was saying, her mouth shut tight, and she immediately tried to stand up from his lap. But just when she stood up, he drew her down forcefully, making her land hardly on his thigh. Elena winced. “What, are you going to run away again and pretend as though you do not care about me?” His words were laced with anger and disappointment as he said this, but Elena couldn’t meet his eyes. She was mostly afraid. How could she explain to him that falling in love with her was probably the worst thing he would do in his lifetime. “I am sorry……” She shuttered, her eyes looking everywhere but his face. “I can’t.” She finally finished.Vincent’s hold on tightened, and his face hardened, but he still didn’t let her go. He paused for a while, then he sighed and spoke. “Surely you will be decent enough to give me an explanation, right?” It was obviou

What she needed was more than just time, but if Vincent ever got to the point of being suspicious of her, then she was as good as dead. Elena stayed put, after Duello left, she went over to her own room and shut the door. It was obviously a narrow escape, but that was the least of her worries. Now she was curious as to why her dad was calling her, but what if Vincent found out about her dad. She knew if he did an indept search on her, there was no way he wouldn’t find enough dirt on her. But even though she wanted to tell him, her sister’s life was at stake, and that was what she could never risk, at least not when her father was involved. They would soon be returning to the States, and she knew that it would increase her chances of meeting her dad or even Marcus, and if she was seen with any of them, then the story would certainly be different. Elena’s hands found her heart, and she placed her hand over it, trying her best to remain calm. After some breathing sessions, she went s

The sudden ringing of her phone was like a sudden threat, Elena flayed up, her eyes narrowing frightfully as she saw who the caller was. It was her dad, and he had dreadful timing. She thought deeply, trying to keep herself from trembling so much and giving herself away that something was wrong. She picked up the phone quickly, a way to prevent Vincent from seeing who the caller was, because she couldn’t imagine explaining at all. Elena’s fingers hovered over the screen, and then it moved to the power button, turning it off to silence the ringing of the phone. Her heartbeat was hammering so wildly in her chest as she did this, her eyes refusing to meet Vincent’s, who was probably now staring at her. It was her dad calling, and his calling meant nothing but trouble, and if Vincent found out about him or the truth, then she would be done for, everything would be totally destroyed. Maybe it was her nervousness or maybe the universe was totally against her, because even as she kep

  • The Scoundrel's Hero   Chapter 49

Narrator’s POVThe couples were still caught up in their wheel of passion that every other thing around them became a memory, fast fading away and the reality was just their lips working through each others. He deepened the kiss, pulling her closer, his body pressed against hers. The world blurred, reduced to the maddening sensation of his lips claiming hers. She hated herself for the way her hands tangled in his shirt, for the way she gave in, even for a moment, to the raw need in his touch. Finally, with a surge of willpower, she broke free, pushing her head back to break the kiss."This isn't right," she said, her voice trembling but resolute, but then his lips met the hallow of her neck and she gasped. He kissed, sucked and nibbled the softness of her neck. Elena began to tremble uncontrollably from raw need. She unconsciously moved her head backwards to give his lips more space to continue his righteous torture on her. Elena knew this shouldn’t be happening, but the more she t

  • The Scoundrel's Hero   Chapter 48

Narrator’s POV The two sat opposite each other chatting as though they had been friends for years. Elena felt strangely comfortable with Eric that she almost forgot that this was a revenge plan. “So tell me Lena, can I call you that?” He asked with a calm smile. Elena nodded in response. “What brings you to Paris?” Elena smiled cutely. “Business, I am on a business trip with my boss.” She responded. His eyes widened in surprise. “Really, does that mean you are not staying, I was hoping to buy you dinner tonight, you can at least make it right?” “She will not be available.” Someone said behind them right before Elena could get the chance to reply him. Elena didn’t need to turn to know it was Vincent and so she didn’t turn, she only stared ahead and then back at Eric who was now looking at her questioningly as Vincent came to stand with them. “Sorry who….?” “He's my boss.” Elena replied shortly, cutting Eric’s intended question to a stop. Again he looked very surprise. “Its

  • The Scoundrel's Hero   Chapter 47

Elena’s POVThe meeting with the Mandel executives had ended well. They signed in with our company, which seemed to be a huge success because even though Vincent refused to show it, he was very glad.I watched him with a little smile as he shook hands with the executives, promising them that they would not regret signing in with the company. His mood seemed to lighten throughout the way as we made our way back to where our car was packed. I was deeply tempted to taunt him about the smile on his face that he kept trying to hide, but I decided against it.He seemed to be in a good mood, and it probably was the best time to question him about how I ended up in his room last night. I wanted to know if it was a dream that he had slept beside me, or was it a reality. The thought itself somehow excited me, but believing me there is no way I am accepting that conclusion. Your mom’s surgery is going to happen today. He said out of the blues, and my eyes widened.I thought it was supposed to

  • The Scoundrel's Hero   Chapter 46

Narrator’s POV Duello opened the door for him and he carried her into the suit with a deep frown on his face. He had achieved completely nothing tonight and it was pissing him off, but somehow having her in his arms helped drive his rage away. He took her to his own room and laid her on the bed while watching her sleep. She was complaining way too much, and suddenly she fell into a faint-like sleep. He knew she must have been scared, and suddenly he felt sorry for leaving the way he did. He watched her calmly with a little smile on his face at how beautiful and cute she looked while sleeping like a baby. He hated himself for how he was slowly feeling for her, but he knew he couldn’t control the feeling because he was already in too deep. Taking a deep breath, he pecked her forehead, and then left the room to meet Duello at the living room where he stood waiting for him. Sir the manager had provided another suit for her. He said immediately as soon as his boss came into view, bu

Narrator’s POV The food was soon delivered to her, and even as she ate she couldn’t help the feeling of guilt that kept crowding her mind, and soon she was brooding, but it never stopped her from enjoying her food at all. Once she was done eating, she found herself staring at his door from time to time, hoping that he would step out and smile at her like he used to, but he never did. She was about to step back into her room when his door suddenly opened, and he stepped out looking so dashingly hot. It took all her will power not to drool at him, and instead she turned away from him almost immediately and headed for her room as though she was not looking out for him some minutes ago. He barely spared her a glance before he walked over to the door and stepped out without talking to her, and that was when she paused. Was he actually ignoring her? She wondered sadly as she glanced after his retreating self, and sighed deeply. Deciding not to think about his actions, she went to wat

Narrator’s POVElena, wake up! She heard a voice call her softly followed by a little tap on her shoulder, and she slowly opened her eyes to see her boss/fake boyfriend staring down at her with an unreadable expression. Are you awake now? He asked and she blinked twice before nodding. He nodded as well and then moved away from her, only to stand up and began to walk away. She sat there confused, trying to understand what exactly was going on until her eyes went outside the window, and only then did she understand that they had arrived. The jerk couldn’t just tell me that, could he? She mused and grumpily stood up and followed his retreating back out of the plane only to see that he wasn’t at the foot of the plane waiting for her. She was getting very annoyed at his recent behavior until she saw a figure coming her way, and a middle aged man dressed in a black suit walked to her and bowed. Bienvenue à Paris madame, j'espère que votre voyage a été agréable. He said while still bowi
