Are they serious? They're really going to transfer here? Why?! I continued to stare at them until their eyes found mine. I have to fight the urge to look away when they did.
"Alright! How about you take your seats so we could now proceed to the lesson?"
Leo smiled at the professor and nodded. I couldn't help but notice that his eyes darted to me for a second before he and the other student councils followed him. Everyone in the class followed their every step with their eyes. Giggles of excitement came from the girls whenever they pass by them.
I, for one, would have been too if I hadn't noticed that they were headed in my direction.
Oh crap. Act normal act normal. I told myself
I look up at them as Leo stopped right in front of me. I have to keep my body and eyes steady knowing that we have a crowd watching us.
"Hey." Leo smiled and raised a hand at me in greeting.
Noting all the people who were watching us, I crossed my arms over as chest and raised an eyebrow at him. All the while, mentally slapping myself for doing such a thing to Leo. With this, I heard a random girl somewhere in the classroom screaming.
"Go, Hailey!! ILOVEYOUSOMUCH!!!"
Crazy people....
Seeing that he wouldn't get a response to me, he dropped his hand to the side, but his smile never left his face as if he was already expecting this kind of reaction from me.
What have I done to deserve this!!
He turned around and faced the professor once again. "Um, sir?"
The professor stopped writing on the board to look back at him with an eyebrow raised. "Yes, Mr. Waynard?"
"My fellow student council members would like to sit with Ms. Hailey. Is that okay?"
I'm pretty sure that my eyes nearly bulged out of their sockets at that time and I was thankful that all eyes were on Leo as he said it. Our professor's mouth hang open.
"I'm pretty sure that it would be possible if your classmates would allow it." At that moment, I would really like nothing but to give our professor a look saying: 'I know what you did. You're passing this responsibility to your students you coward.'
And of course, I'm pretty sure that, with my popular rank as the cool girl, no student who is seated near me will comply with their wish. I mean, not that I am boasting, but who wouldn't want to sit beside me? The cool girl?
But as soon as our professor said it, the people seated near me; front, back, to my right, and diagonally to my right, beamed brightly at them and vacated the seats willingly.
"Here, Leo! Take mine!"
"Over here, Xander!!"
"You can take my seat, miss Sandy."
"Oh my, Sheeeeenn!!! Take my seat! I insist!!"
Sheen had a sweet and flirty smile on his face as he winked at the girl. "Well thank you, love."
WHAT!?! How can this be? They weren’t supposed to sit beside me!! And my ex-seatmates shouldn't have left!! They were supposed to say no!!
TRAITORS!!!!!!!!
I watched in horror, well at least that's what I'm doing in my mind, as the student councils thank my traitorous and unworthy classmates. After that, they all took their respected seats near me. Sandy sitting to my right(insisting that she wanted to sit next to me and fought Leo for it.), Sheen sitting diagonally to my right and just in front of Sandy, Leo in front of me, and…
...Wait, why do I feel someone starring a whole at the back of my head?
I suddenly felt a shiver ran down my spine. I gulped and twisted my head a little to look behind me. And sure enough, I saw the person who was drilling a hole at me.
Seated behind me was none other than Xander. His eyes were cold and hard as he looked at me. Since I was still in my cool girl form, I managed to counter it with my own cold stare as if it didn't bother me.
Suddenly, the coldness in his eyes disappeared when the girl beside him said 'hi'. His facial feature became more friendly and there was a smile on his face that makes me doubt that he was the only one making such a murderous look at me earlier.
What the heck? Why did he give me that look? Wasn't he suppose to have a friendly face to everyone?? Why am I an exception to that?? Freaky bipolar dude......
But going to the matter at hand, I took note of the situation that I'm in. I'm trapped. Does this mean that I did all that escaping thingy that I did earlier for nothing? I fought the urge to bury my head in my hands. If I do that then I would be showing weakness, not to mention that it would affect my cool image.
My eyes darted around me. While the teacher was busy writing on the board, Sandy took that opportunity was trying to have a conversation with me."Hey there, Hailey. How's it going? You know, I really think your awesome, not that you already didn't know. Would you like to be friends?"
Instead of answering her, I decided to shift my gaze to the other two SC's who were in front of me. Sheen was flirting with the girl beside him and the girl laughs at something that he had said.
Then my eyes darted towards Leo, who was the only one among the SC who wasn't chatting with anyone and was busy taking down notes. Handsome, diligent, and smart. Who wouldn't like him, right? Behind my cool girl mask, I was gazing at him dreamily.
Hmmm.....I guess having them here has some perks. Now I can watch him all day. Not in a creepy way, mind you. Just creepily in my mind.
Oh, wait. Shouldn't I start panicking that they're here with me? Oh gosh. I'm starting to become bipolar as well.

When we had our break, I was lucky enough to have avoided them and managed to come back just in time as the bell rang and our next teacher came. But now, on our lunch break, I wasn't that lucky.
As soon the bell for our lunch break came, I couldn't help but notice them getting up rather quickly and blocked my escape by pretending to fix their table when, in fact, they were using it as a cage by making a circle of it around me. They did it so simply that our classmates didn't noticed what they were doing as they headed out of the room. I looked back at the door where the last student, besides us, just exited before I looked back at the student councils's faces once again.
"Look, Miss Hailey. We just want to-"
Before Leo can finish his sentence, I quickly grabbed my bag and hopped on to the table, jump down, and made a quick run towards the door, but just before I could run away, someone grabbed my arms and turned me around. It was Xander.
The action completely cut me off guard that, on instinct, I kneed him in the gut. Making him loosen his grip on me. He sank to the ground and muttered a few curses as he clutched his stomach. The rest of his friends quickly ran to him to help.
I blink a few times before I realize what I had done. I just kneed Xander in the gut. As soon as it dawned on me, it was as if half of my cool girl act vanished. I was left there standing while feeling pity, horror, and regret over what I had done to Xander.
"Yo, Xander. Are you okay man?" Sheen asked as he and Leo helped him up.
"Yeah. I'm fine." He managed to croak out. Once he was finally settled on his feet, his eyes met mine and immediately, one of his eyebrows raised.
I was still in a daze of the horror of my doing that I didn't notice Sandy sneaking up on me and grabbing me by the shoulder. "I got her!" She announced happily and snapping me back to my current situation.
"What the? Let go of me." I said as I tried to shook her off. Normally, I would have escaped from her grasped by pushing her back, but since I was a bit shaken by the whole 'kneeing in the gut thing' I became more gentle considering that Sandy is a girl.
But I immediately regretted that decision when the boys started to join Sandy to hold me. Wait a minute! 4 against 1?! That doesn't seem fair!!
"Hold still, love." Said Sheen when he was almost hit by my shoulder from struggling.
"Let's get her out of the room. Quickly!" Leo ordered. Then as a team, Xander and Sheen pulled me by the arm, Leo pushing by back to help move me forward, and Sandy opening the door for us. I basically didn't resist going out of the room. In fact, I wanted to leave this room immediately. I'm just pretending to struggle so they wouldn't know of my plan to escape.
But once we got out, all thoughts of escaping and running quickly fled when I saw how crowded the hallway was. And I mentally did a face palm and reminding myself that it was lunch break. Of course you'll find the hallway crowded with students coming out of their class.
"Don't even try to run." Leo whispered behind me. He was so close to my ear that I could feel his breath coming down on my neck. I could feel my face starting to heat up and I was thanking my lucky stars that he was behind me and couldn't see my face right. "If you do, you'll have to go through them. We just want to talk so please, come with us quietly." He gave me a gentle push.
Seeing as how I have no other choice, I decided to just go with it. Well as long as I'm going where Leo's going.
As we walked, I started to notice that we were attracting the attention of the students who we're passing by. Their eyes would go from me to the student councils. Some seemed really amazed and excited while the others have a confused look on their faces - probably wondering what the cool girl was doing hanging around with the student councils.
Well that's a good question! Even I don't know what I'm doing here walking with them. They're probably gonna throw me in a sack and toss me into a river for discovering their secrets. If that's the case then....BEHOLD!! This will be the last time that wou guys will ever see such a fine and good looking creature as me walking in the school hallway!! Better take pictures as some sort of remembrance.
I looked around me to see if there was any chance of me escaping. Sandy at my front, Sheen to my left, Xander to my right, and Leo at my back.
Nope. No escape. Just like in the classroom.
They then lead me to an oh so familiar room. One which I never wanted to see after I brought Patrik here, a.k.a Xander's little brother. Call me over dramatic but as soon as they opened the door, I was seeing all fire and red and someone was giving off an evil laugh.
I gulped.
They stopped and Xander and Sheen lead me to a couch while Leo close the door behind us and Sandy going to their handy dandy mini kitchen. Probably to get something for us to eat.
After that, Leo, Xander, and Sheen sat at the couch opposite of mine and I sat up straight, not wanting them to notice how nervous I was. In front of me, Xander was giving me a scrutinizing gaze in which I have to fight the urge to shrink back into the sofa. Leo was slouching with his head rested on the back of the sofa. Sheen? Well I kind of assume that he was flirting on his phone judging by the smirk on his lips.
What a playboy.
Since I was too afraid to look at Xander and too shy to stare at Leo, I decided to stare at Sheen instead.
He flipped his hair and licked his lips while typing on his iPhone. I frowned at him. He better not be messing with a poor girl on the other line.
As if finally noticing my stare, Sheen's head perked up and he met my gaze. Once our eyes was locked that's when I looked at him without blinking. A look that makes everyone, even the bullies, cower. And judging by how Sheen reacted, I can say that it still live by it's name. Sheen's lips trembled and he sunk lower in his seat and shielding his eyes by inching closer to Leo. Leo raised an eyebrow at him in confusion - probably wondering why he was acting that way. I bit the side of my cheek to keep myself from laughing.
"Sorry to keep you waiting! I made some tea and prepared the cookies that I brought. Help yourselves!!" Sandy announced gleefully and placed a tray to the table in front of us. There was a teapot and 5 cups sitting on the tray. To the side was a plate full of chocolate chip cookies. I looked up again to the student council kids on the other couch, including Sandy, and thought about how spoiled they are for having an apartment-like room for themselves as their SC room.
"Sheen? What happened to you?" Sandy asked once she took a seat beside him. "You look like you've seen Death."
"Uhh....no. Don't mind me." Sheen murmured and I pursed my lips.
Sandy just stared at Sheen in confusion before she decided to serve the tea herself since no one made a move to pour themselves a cup of tea. She handed one to Xander, Leo, and Sheen before handing on to me. At first, I thought about not accepting it, but that would just be rude. Not to mention how that would make her feel. When I reached out to take the cup, I couldn't help but notice Xander's gaze following the gesture. I quickly ignored him as I nodded a thank you to Sandy.
"So." I said and sat up straight while balancing a cup of tea on my lap. Their eyes suddenly shifted in my direction as I spoke. "Would you council members care to explain why you were following me?" I managed to ask and mentally patted myself on the back for keeping a straight face and character as I spoke.
Leo took a sip of his tea before placing it back down on the coffee table. "Well, it's basically about keeping our secrets-"
"I already told you that I won't tell anyone. It's not my style to gossip." I cut him off.
"Well yes." He agreed. "But we just wanted to take extra precaution. This type of secret isn't a simple matter."
I managed to roll my eyes at him. Yes, I rolled my eyes at Leo. It happens. After all, I'm letting my other side, the cool one, take over. "What do you want me to do then? Sign a paper binding my silence? Make an oath?"
"Join the student council."
What did he say? Join the student council?I threw my head back as I laughed. "Sorry. I thought you said to join the student council."His face remained expressionless. "I did."I stared at him to see if he was perhaps kidding about his invitation but he's not. Handsome or not, I glared at him. "Really? You chased me all day just to invite me in-" I gestured towards them and made a circle with my finger. "-your group?""That and to keep an eye out for you." Added Sheen and I glared at him to shut up. He did.I returned my gaze back to Leo. "No."This time, it was Sandy who spoke up. "Please, Hailey. Think about it. I would love to have another girl in the group." She said an
"Hey, honey. Why are you home so early?" My mom immediately asked me once I got home."Nothing. Just tired and not in the mood for school.""Are you alright?" She asked me worriedly.I nodded. "Nothing like a good bed rest can't fix." I gave her a small smile and let her place the back of her palm on my forehead. She tsked. "I'll take that excuse for today, but you better not be doing that regularly, okay? You have to keep your grades up for college."I smiled. "Of course. Can't wait for college after all." And be done with this drama. "I'm going to my room, okay?" I said as I kissed her on the cheek before heading up."Oh wait."I sto
I just stared at her and at the wig in disgust. "Ew. Why pink?"Then I heard a loud slap as she facepalmed. "I just gave YOU an IDEA and the first time that came to your mind is about the wig’s COLOR!? Are you being serious right now?!”I flinched at the tone of her voice. "I know. I heard you so...yay!!! FELISHA HUGHES!! THE DAUGHTER OF SHREK AND FIONA WAS BORN!! But pink? Really?!" I shivered. When I looked up, I almost screamed in fright when I saw the look of fury on Kaila's face. You could totally imagine a fire in the background by how she looks. I gulp. She stormed to me and grabbed my arms. She hauled me up. "W-wait! What are you gonna do to me?""Relax. I promise you this won't hurt you.""You&rsquo
Yesterday, I told one of the staff to burn to wig. That stupid thing was the root and cause of my downfall. I am pretty sure of it. So to say, I think it deserves a bitter end.I was walking along the hallway with my bag slung over my should as usual. I made a stop at my locker and grabbed the needed books for my first period. Then, I headed for my classroom.Once I opened the door, my eyes scanned the area for a bit to make sure the pests - a.k.a the student councils - weren’t around."Morning, Hailey!!""Hailey! Hi!"The student greeted me but I took no interest in them as I continued my search. When I found no sign of them, I smiled on the inside and headed fo
Lunch came. As usual, I was the last one to exit our room and head for the cafeteria. As I got there, I saw that there was a commotion going on AT MY TABLE.Two first-year students, both girls, were carrying their tray of food and were seemed to be blocked by a few groups of girls that I recognize. Alexandria, Courtney, and Wilma. I don't want to brag or anything but those three girls are the head of the Hailey May Collins fan club.I'm not bragging at all because I don't like it. Basically, they are just a group of Hailey wannabes that try to act like me but ended up looking like total b*tches. Plus, they are a wee bit aggressive. They tried to befriend me once, but I wasn't interested. At first, I thought that it would be the end of that stupid fan club but it only grew more. Alexandria even dyed
My blood started to boil at the sight of them. "What the heck are you guys doing here!?" I busted out. Honestly, I wanted to have some alone time.Shouldn't they be in their room or something?Hearing my voice, they all turned and smiled, except for Xander who still had his back to me. "Hi, Hailey. Would you like to join us?" Sandy asked as she brought out different kinds of sandwiches and cakes that made my mouth water. But not enough for me to join them. I still have my pride!I averted my gaze to their food and glared at them. "You haven't answered my question."Sheen got up from a sitting position and grinned. "We basically followed you here. And when we saw where you went, we decided to have
Sunday morning.I was in a cafe, drinking a cup of coffee as I waited for my mom to pick me up. Today we have a meeting with the board regarding mom's new fashion catalog. There, they will judge mom's works and will decide whether to sponsor the runlway project that mom has or not.As for me, I'm just going there for moral support.Mom and I were supposed to head there together, but since I woke up late, she told me that she'll pick me up around 8 AM specifically at this cafe.Through my sunglasses, I checked my phone to see that it was 7:56 AM. Four minutes till the said meeting time. With a sigh, I decided to check my Twitter account to see that I have 254 new followers. I scrolled them over to see that these new foll
I paid for the cab as soon as I arrived outside of my dad's restaurant. I went to the back and used the back door to head to the kitchen where I know my dad is.Once I entered, I quickly got a whiff of the chef's cooking. My mouth started to water but I need to find my dad first. The staff didn't really pay any attention to me as I entered since they already know who I am. I gathered my hair up and put an extra hairnet on top of my head from the counter. Now we don't want to ruin my dad's business when the customers find a hair on their dishes, don't we?It wasn't long until I found my dad with some of the chefs. He was guiding and instructing them what to do and how it's done."Use these tomatoes instead of those. We only want the finest ingredients for this." Ordered my dad.
My first instinct is to run away with Xander. My second instinct is to run towards Vanessa and tackle her. That girl deserves whatever body pain I am planning on inflicting on her. I guess it was not enough for her to ruin me. Now, she wants to drag Xander along too. She obviously needed some much needed drama to put her on the spot again. To what extent is she willing to ruin people’s lives just so she can stay in the spotlight? I have never been so angry at anyone before, but I will deal with my emotions later. My priority right now is Xander. Looking at Xander, I was surprised to see him standing so calmly in front of me. Well, he wasn’t entirely calm. He was shaking, but it wasn’t from fear or anxiety. He looks like he is about to burst out laughing. What is he so excited about? “Xander?” I grab his hand. “Xander, come on. Let’s get you out of here. I will call my dad to pick us up.” Xander’s gaze softens when he turns to me. “Thanks, Hailey.” He kisses my forehead, which
The big day has arrived, and even though I have complete faith in my mother's design abilities, I can not help but feel nervous. I have seen the design before, but when I look in the mirror, I cannot help but admire the dress. It’s a light lavender dress with a sweetheart neckline and a thin laced strap to keep it in place—my mom knows I was never gifted in the frontal area. The skirt is a flare shape, with the hemline ending perfectly a few centimeters from the floor. Most of the beadwork is at the neckline and waist since the material used for the skirt is chromatic. It shines perfectly on its own. My mother didn’t want me to look too mature so my hair is left in a side loose braid. “Perfect!” My mother enters the dressing room just as I finish clasping dangling earrings in my ears. I shy away from the mirror at how my mother is continuously gushing at me and my outfit. “Darling, you look wonderful! Of course, I expect no less from my daughter, who carries my perfect genes!” “N
Preparation for the dance has been going smoothly. Our efforts have come to fruition when everything is finally coming together. I hate every second of the work, but getting to see the final outcome feels somehow rewarding. Speaking of which, while we were still preparing the venue, the others figured out that Xander and I were already dating. I’m pretty sure that was the case when we told them, because their reaction was a robotic surprise, like they hadn’t tried practicing it. “Wow. We totally had no idea.” “Really? We hadn’t noticed.” “Congratulations!” Only Leo had a really genuine reaction from the group, even lightly clapping his hands in celebration. This world needs a lot more Leo—so pure and innocent. The rest of us can just die (I'm kidding!). “See? I told you they’d know.” Xander crosses his arms and pointedly looks toward Sandy. “I bet you already have proofs and created a group chat where only you, Sheen, and Leo are in it to show the photos.” Leo and Sheen exch
Taking a photoshoot with The Pandorgriffs always feels like bliss for me, despite the number of times that we’ve done this before. It seems that I will always be their fan, no matter what. Actually, that’s not the only thing that makes me excited to work with them. It’s also the fact that I get to work with Xander too. It’s only been a day since we started dating, but it seems like I can’t help but feel light and happy whenever we see each other. He keeps meeting my gaze during our turn and giving me secret grins and a wink. If Xander could be an animal, he would definitely be a fox. Sandy, the ever so reigning queen of gossip, managed to catch that Xander and I have been looking at each other all throughout work. This hellhound of a girl literally has been giving us both a look of suspicion and, I swear, I think her nostrils are flaring like she caught the scent of a hot topic. Xander and I haven’t told the others about our relationship yet. We’re not trying to hide it from them
As the school’s cool girl, I have numerous people confessing to me on a daily basis, but having someone that I know confess to me, especially one that I like, is just embarrassing—in a good way. You’d thought that I would jump in glee and throw sparkles and rainbows at everyone’s face out of joy, but nope. Before I could even give my answer, Leo and the others came back. The next day, I was so tired. I could not even sleep just thinking about it. We’re supposed to head to the mall today to buy the materials needed to make the design. Of course, Xander is going to be there. Unexpectedly, I arrived at the meeting place earlier than planned. I’ve got nothing better to do because if I continue to stay at home, I might just keep staring at my reflection and recalling the confession. It was a confession, right? I mean, I am almost certain that it was. Before we parted ways, Xander assured me that he doesn’t need an answer right away and is willing to wait. Actually, I really wanted t
I rarely get into serious situations that I give a damn about. Right now, I badly wish that I was in one of those situations so I could just laugh and ignore it. I guess I have not gotten my luck as Hailey May Collins working yet because the situation in question involves Xander and the others. “You guys are going to disband?” My tongue felt heavy when I said it. I knew what I heard, but I still could not believe it. “Can you tell me why?” “It’s not exactly a secret, but I assure you that it was a mutual agreement on everyone’s part.” Xander looks uncomfortable, making me wish that I hadn’t asked the question in the first place. “I’m sorry. You don’t have to answer my question if you are feeling uncomfortable.” I hastily added and avoided his gaze. As much as I am dying to know their reasons, I should still respect their privacy. Xander’s chortle comes as a surprise to me. I stare at him, wondering what it is that he finds so amusing. Currently, I feel a little conflicted about
The very next day, I was humming as I headed to the student council room after taking my special exams—I’m not going to talk about how well or poorly I did. It doesn’t matter. I feel like I have accumulated enough points to graduate anyway.I met Sandy at the door, and I gave her the brightest mischievous grin that I could muster. Sandy just smiled at me in return before heading inside the council room. I still have the blackmail photo of her and Sheen on their secret date that I am dying to show her. Because my exams are finally out of the way, I have no choice but to participate in my student council duties. I don’t mind doing it these days, and my old self would laugh at me if I admitted it out loud, but hey, I am here to have fun with Sandy. It’s payback for all the teasing that she put me through. “Hey, Sandy.” I smile, heading over to her and plastering on a smile. Sandy gives me a perplexed look. She’s probably wondering why I wasn’t hostile with her today. “Good day to you,
“Do you think that they are on a secret date?” “I—” “I think so too. It’s very suspicious.” “Hailey—” “Do you want to secretly take photos of them for future blackmail purposes? I know I would.” I cheerfully as I continue to snap pictures of Sheen and Sandy buying tickets for a random romance movie. “You’re already taking photos of them. What’s even the point of you asking me about it?” I can feel Xander’s tiredness as a sigh escapes him. I believe that his exhaustion comes from him constantly trying to tell me against stalking them, but all his words simply go from one ear to the other. “Let’s go!” I drag him along after the couple finished buying tickets. “Where to?” “To buy some tickets. We’re watching the movie.” “Why?” “...That’s because the movie looks interesting.” Xander gives me a long stare. “You’re still going to spy on them in the cinema, are you?” “...No…?” The words left my lips in a drag, making it sound suspicious. “I mean, I am really interested in watchin
I wasn’t aware that my mother called Xander and promised to sponsor our attire for the dance. Knowing how I would have reacted, I guess I can understand why my mother kept it a secret in the first place. Still, it would have been better if she had at least given me a hint. Xander and I are sitting not too far from each other. None of us are even speaking. I am sitting casually and bouncing my legs nervously while thinking of ways to strike up a conversation. From how Xander is busy scrolling through his phone, I don’t even know if he would like to talk to me. It’s always been difficult to read Xander’s mood, so I decided to risk it and converse with him. “The weather is nice.” I start. “It’s raining heavily outside, Hailey.” He responded without looking up from his phone. Well, so much for an icebreaker. I should try another approach. “I didn’t know that you were coming.” “I thought your mother told you that I would be coming for the fitting.” This time, Xander did look up. I c
