Clyde watched as Emma’s expression switched from confusion to anger. Her brown eyes were lit with fury, and the muscles ticking in her jaws showed how she was displeased by his statement. Her face had twisted into a frown and her fist was curled beside her.

“What do you mean by that?" She asked again, peering at him with intensity.

“It means that you cannot be the Luna of my pack…” Clyde responded casually, ignoring the apathetic look on her face.

“What?”

“I said….”

“No. No. No…” She silenced him with one hand, and Clyde found himself obeying her. “You break into my house, you tell me all this bullshit, but you are planning to ruin my life? Is that it?"

“You are …”

She cut him off again. “You think you can waltz into my life and…and…” She stammered. “You had this planned all along?”

“Yes, and why does it matter?"

“Why does it matter?” Her eyes were wide with fury.

Clyde hissed. “In case you haven’t noticed, I am the Alpha of this pack. I will not take a human as my Luna,

Emma truly didn’t believe he planned to keep her as a side thing while he progressed with his relationship with Emily. Not until he confessed casually. As she stared at him with shock, a thousand different emotions were crashing through her. She recoiled, she struggled to keep her face impassive and her outrage hidden as she was starkly reminded of the fact that she was in the pack house. But the words he had said to her were unbearable and hard to digest. ‘You have six months to fall in love…’It took her a moment to gather her thought but once she did, she knew it was impossible. He had only said that to her to make him feel better about himself. Her head spun and her fingers were shaking from the impact of his words. Six months to fall in love, she reminded herself. How did he think love worked? Did he think it was the same as a wolf bond which could pull you all the way to another city to find your mate? Did he think she was desperate to be in a relationship? She was beginning

Clyde did a double take, positive that he misheard Emma. “You what?”She turned her head to him and took her time repeating herself. “I’m going to file an arrest warrant on you if you don’t stop showing up everywhere I go.”“Everywhere you go? It’s been a week since I heard from you.”Emma blinked. “Well, I would love to keep the distance. You clearly do not understand when a person is intentionally ignoring you.”Clyde glared at her. It had been a week since she furiously walked out on him during their visit to his pack house. He sensed that it was the result of Emily's action which might have caused Emma to become jealous. He had wanted the visit to go successfully. However, Emily couldn't just stop taunting Emma. She didn't take it well. She had been avoiding him since the visit and had taken extra measures to shut him out of her life. The first was his realization that she had her windows fixed with anti-burglary locks. Although it wouldn’t stop him from visiting her when he wante

Emma's eyes widened when she noticed who Clyde was staring at. Jim Copley was walking out of his company, guarded by over eight bodyguards. She froze. Jim was an old crime lord who had evaded the police department for years. Emma had found it hard to navigate his file due to the bulk of his crimes. But somehow, he managed to slip away from the authorities. He had strong connections which helped him to get away with whatever he did. He was also suspected to be the head of a crime group which had been terrorizing Minnesota for a long time. He was an arms dealer, a ruthless man who controlled half of the city. When Emma was asked to take up the warehouse case, she had been terrified to discover it was linked to Jim. No one wanted to work on a case that could get them killed, but somehow, she always managed to find herself entangled with such cases. But she had taken it anyway and worse, her partner, Allen, was assigned to another case. She had been devastated to learn she would have

Clyde stared at the humans approaching them with fury. He slowly curled his hand into a fist beside him and his jaw locked. Dark veins began to circle his eyes and his chest was rising and falling. There was no doubt that they were coming to attack them. The sun was setting and darkness was creeping over the sky. He was right. Trailing Jim was a bad idea, but Emma didn’t listen to him. She always objected to whatever he said to feed her ego. She was a stubborn, weak girl whose actions got her into trouble always. If she had simply listened to him, he wouldn’t have had to kill the humans approaching them. But then, he couldn’t bear such disrespect. No matter how stubborn she was, he couldn’t let the humans fiddle with his strength and authority. He was an Alpha, and he would act like one. With his eyes focused on them, he realized that they were armed as they drew nearer and their proximity was closing up. From the corner of his eyes, he could feel Emma trembling. He could hear her

The shot was so loud, and it echoed across the open space. So loud that Emma didn’t even hear the shotgun itself as a distinct sound; instead it was the bell-like ringing as the sound echoed. She didn’t feel pain or an impact. But the shot was fired at her. She knew something had happened, but her mind hadn’t quite caught up with it yet. She didn’t have any throbbing tingling like she had been shot. She could hear her heart pounding, but she somehow doubted she was alive. She slowly peeled her eyes open, and she saw the most unimaginable thing. Clyde was standing a few meters from her, shielding her from the gunshot. She didn’t know how he managed to get in front of her so quickly, but he had blocked the shot. He had taken the bullet for her. His back was turned to her, so she could not ascertain the degree of the gun wound. Her mind was racing with thoughts as she remained frozen on the spot. She knew werewolves were unaffected by ordinary weapons. She read that small guns could n

Clyde watched as she drove the car with trembling fingers. He couldn’t discern whether she was still shaken by what happened or just scared of going to the pack house at night. From the corners of his eyes, he kept watching her. Nothing was terrifying about his pack at night, except that most werewolves loved to go hunting. He knew that would terrify her, but she was going with him anyway. The silence between them in the car was unsettling, and it wasn't clear to him why he wanted to start a conversation with her. He had a lot to ask concerning her newest methods of avoiding and ignoring him. “So, I see you have some anti-burglary locks on your windows.” He turned his head slightly to look at her. “And can you stop trembling?” She stole a glance from him before sighing. “I’m not trembling.” She gripped the steering wheels tighter. “And, the locks are precisely to keep you away from breaking into my house again.” Clyde chuckled. “And you think that’s going to keep me away?” “We

Emma walked into the pack house cautiously. The last time she had come there, Clyde had accompanied her everywhere, but now, she was trying to figure out the way to his wing alone. She took the stairs and occasionally overheard the inaudible whispers about her. Yet, she felt excited to be in his pack. There was a tingle of desire she felt as she headed to his room. And she knew it hadn’t been there when she visited the first time. In his wing, she slowly approached his room, which was at the end of the hallway. Her mind wandered back to Emily and how she would feel if she was spending the night with Clyde. She didn’t like her and she knew that. But she knew Clyde was using her, so she wouldn't mind her spending the night. However, as she opened the door to Clyde’s room and found Emily sprawled on his bed in a satin robe, she realized she would mind that she was spending the night. Emily’s eyes fell on her as she stood by the door, and a frown crept to her face. She rose from the

Clyde kissed Emma with raw hunger and passion. Her lips parted as she deepened the kiss. He was lost in her. Her lips were so soft and her body was so womanly. Her soul was so pure, and he could feel her emotions from the way she kissed him. As he ran his hands over her back, over his loose cotton shirt which she was wearing, he felt the press of her lush breasts against his hardened chest. Her brown hair now tumbled in waves, and he had to use his fingers to push them behind her ears. Emma leaned closer toward him, her arms tightening around his shoulder. Clyde was reckless, so hot, and he had such a strange power over her. One that made him irresistible to kiss. She didn’t immediately respond when he kissed her because she had been too shocked. But when Clyde tried to draw away, she returned the kiss with force, with all the passion that she had been trying so hard not to feel. She let herself feel it, all of it, and desire overwhelmed her as it had never before. Cupping her fac

Just don't be an asshole,” she teased, slapping him across the chest.Immediately, Clyde caged both of her wrists, pinning them above her head. “Speaking of assholes, I want to take yours,” he informed her.“Not happening, Clyde. I'm utterly spent. And, that place is restricted. You can take me wherever else, but not in the ass.”Chuckling, “I wasn't asking. I was demanding.”Emma, rolled her eyes at him, which she soon regretted when he slapped her hard across her ass cheeks. Twitching, she jerked forward, wincing
