The countdown began and shortly after, the bulky man and Clyde had the tank's pipes fixed to their mouths. Much cheering and applause from around got them excited. The bartender was worried. She had witnessed Clyde consuming powerful content only for him to join a drinking contest. Either he was crazy or he really wanted to die from intoxication.

Clyde looked over at her, he was so unbothered. He winked at her and then proceeded to gulp his share of the beer. With what he has consumed before now, he should be unconscious, but no. There he was waving energetically as they got praises.

None of them was backing down, and his challenger's eyes were going wide with discomfort. He was becoming pale with every passing second. Clyde knew it was a matter of time before his opponent passed out. The feeling of coming out victorious excited him. He loved to conquer all things.

Before his eyes, Clyde saw the killer wearing the same outfit he wore on the same days those killings happened. Even tonight, he wore the same thing, walked just like him, and made sure that he didn't avoid the CCTV of the city. He deliberately wanted to leave traces. Clyde knew the answer. He knew who it was. Most of all, he knew that Carrington had something to do with it. He was taunting him. He wanted to draw him out.The iPad was broken as he also flung it on the war, shattering whatever was left. This was his battle to fight silently, he couldn't give out details. And that was why Carrington was doing it because he already knew that Clyde would have to solely fight this battle. They all waited for him to say something. Anything. Clyde kept quiet, rubbing his chin. “Dismissed,” he mumbled, walking out. Most were left in confusion. On other days, Emily would have run after him to try to sort out things. However, she remained seated, having earlier received a dose of his short temp

Heavily exhaling, she drummed her fingers on the window of her car. “Emily, I'll repeat myself just once. Get away from my car.”“Oh, someone is hurt. Don't be a crybaby. You knew that his heart belonged somewhere else before agreeing to this. You knew that I'll always come first and that he would always come back to me, no matter how hard you fight to get his attention. Honey, quit the drama and go back inside until he instructs otherwise.”“What am I? A dog? A prisoner? The last time I checked, I'm neither answerable to you nor Clyde. Now, move out of the way, or I'll move your ass myself. Why don't you go back to your man and let me be?”Chuckling, “don't you want to hear all the amazing things I did to him that you couldn't do? How he told me that I was better than you? Oh, don't get me started, sugar. I'm the only person that Clyde still cuddles after sex. No other girl has experienced that with him because I'm the only one who takes good care of his heart.”Emma's phone chimed an

Clyde was intensively staring into Emma's eyes when her phone began to buzz, breaking the silence. She hissed, grabbing it. It was Allen again, and this time he sounded impatient.“Emma, get to the department immediately. There’s a lead on the serial killer.”“I ran into some difficulty. I’m coming.”Allen ended the call.Emma, shoved Clyde hard in the chest, not having any of his drama as he was wasting her time. He was a big boy, so her impact had little effect, but Clyde willingly moved out of the way for her to saunter to the wardrobe.“You fucking cost me a button on my shirt,” she ranted, unbuttoning and shimmering out of the shirt. She didn’t care if the mountain of a man was still standing there. She ran her fingers through the rack of clothes, choosing a blue top that went well with her pants and loafers. Putting it on, “Clyde, I’m leaving her. Don’t try to stop me because it wouldn’t end well,” she warned with seriousness. “My job fucking needs me.”Throwing up his hand in

Snaking his arm over her seat, Liam reached in with his other hand to unbuckle her seat belt. “You do know that you will have to get out at some point,” she reminded her with a heavenly smile across his face.“I know,” she mumbled. “This is on you and Clyde.”Liam chuckled, getting out of the car. Emma took a second to fix her hair and rumpled top. Before she reached the door, Liam had opened it for her, creating a magnet for more attention. She nonchalantly got out, avoiding eye contact. In a hurry, she went to her unit with Liam walking closely behind her. She heard whispering in every corner she crossed. If the ground could open, she would have willingly buried herself due to shyness.“Nice of you to get your butt here,” Allen acknowledged, throwing a surprising glance at Liam. He examined him from hair to toe, smirking. “Could he be the reason for this Nonchalance, Miss Watson? He’s quite a catch, I must say.”Extending his hand at once, “not at all. Although I will be lucky to ha

The briefing lasted a conflicting two hours, of which Emma spent paying little attention. She had questions upon questions pounding in her head. Things she hoped that Clyde would deny. The briefing came to an end, with everyone returning to the department to continue cracking the case in different units, trying as much as possible to find a motive for the killing.Emma, with her broken spirit, was the last to leave behind Allen and two other officers. Before she got to the door, trying to sneak out and not get the attention of the Chief, he saw her and immediately halted her. “Miss Watson? A word with you,” his unfriendly face geared.Emma looked out to find Liam, who had gathered snacks in his hand while chatting with some of the officers. Liam was waiting for her outside the Chief's office. He had a concerned look on his face as he approached her. The chatter and laughter had died down, and he excused himself to go to her.“Are you okay?” he asked, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder.Emma shook her head, feeling overwhelmed. “No, Liam, I'm not okay. I've been suspended without pay until further notice. I don't know what I'm going to do.”Liam's expression turned serious. “Why?”“For some funny reason, my prints were found all over the recent crime scene. Even though I told them that I was with you yesterday, which is the truth, the Chief still insisted that I go under investigation. “ Toning down her voice, “I’m scared, Liam. What if they find out? What if… I…we,” she shuttered. “I can’t afford to have a stain to my name with everything presently on my plate.”“Hmm.” He rubbed his chin. Emma studied him. There was something about his relaxation that worried her. “Liam, what aren’t you telling me?”“There’s foul

As the cab weaved through the streets, Emma's mind was racing. She couldn't believe that she was about to confront a werewolf, and she wasn't sure what she was going to say when she saw Alpha Clyde. After all, they didn't part ways on a good note. Finally, the cab pulled up to the routes that led back to the Alpha's mansion, and Emma got out, walking through the mini woods towards the front door. She took a deep breath as the gates opened ajar. They had already marked her, so, at the recognition of her face, it was easy for her to get through the guards until she made it to Clyde's wing. After so many moments of gathering courage, she knocked on the door. It didn't open. Most of all, she didn't see Liam anywhere. It was awfully quiet. She tapped on the door again, and it finally opened. A beautiful blonde woman appeared. “Can I help you?” she asked, looking at Emma curiously. At first, Emma didn't recognize her. When she looked closely, she almost slammed her head into the wall. “Em

“Emma?” that chilled-out voice that she would give anything not to hear called out to her.Maybe Alfred was frightened, or call it a reflex action. He gently shoved Emma off him, giving Clyde, who looked so angry, a bow.“Leave me the fuck alone!” she screamed at him, dashing off.“Emma. Wait!” he begged. She paid deaf ears to his words and scurried as gas as her little legs could carry her out of the gate. The cool breeze of the late-night hit her face, reminding her that she had tears around her cheeks. She sobbed uncontrollably, kicking the sidewalk as she continued on her way. She sprinted with all her strength until she found herself out of the mini-woods on the road.Where was she to go? Back to the department? Not at all. Her brain was too cramped to work. To her apartment? What if they came back for her? Back to Clyde and just ignore him and at least have a roof over her head? Her dead parents would wake up before that could happen. With no destination in mind, she hailed an

All night long, Clyde took whatever he wished for, draining Emma until she was quivering. She was out of breath, sucking in oxygen from the little, which didn't seem enough in the room. Finally, after hours of rummaging, they both collapsed on the bed. Clyde still buried deep in Emma without pulling out. “Emma, you complete my world and I love you so much,” he whispered in her ears.Without hesitation, knowing where her heart belonged, she responded. “I love you too, Clyde. Just don't be an asshole,” she teased, slapping him across the chest.Immediately, Clyde caged both of her wrists, pinning them above her head. “Speaking of assholes, I want to take yours,” he informed her.“Not happening, Clyde. I'm utterly spent. And, that place is restricted. You can take me wherever else, but not in the ass.”Chuckling, “I wasn't asking. I was demanding.”Emma, rolled her eyes at him, which she soon regretted when he slapped her hard across her ass cheeks. Twitching, she jerked forward, wincing

Clyde dropped his pants with the rest of his clothing; briefs and shirt. His eyes narrowed as he reviewed Emma with eyes so hungry, so dark, that they made her heart flutter. He stood before her naked, his cock thick and hard for her, the muscles in his powerful thighs flexing, his large hands clenching and unclenching.“You are going to regret saying that,” he said in a low voice, dangerously calm, and controlled, tentatively touching the place he had bitten on the side of Emma's neck. His words set her on fire. His gaze, following her curves from her still trembling eyes, to her pussy, belly, breasts, neck, and back up to meet her eyes, scorched her and made every patch of skin ache for more of his touch. Her stomach clenched, and her heart rate picked up.
