LOGINAurora clicked on the doorbell, and the sliding door opened, ushering her in. She saw her father-in-law sitting and balancing his body firmly on the sofa as he spoke with Dr. Edward.
"Hi Aurora, how are you doing? Glad you got here safe! Dr. Edward, this is Aurora, my son's wife, whom I discussed with you," Harrison said before Aurora could greet them.
"Good day, Dr. Edward," Aurora greeted, bowing her head to show respect. Dr. Edward, a man in his late forties, had a smooth scalp that gleamed under the light, his face etched with fine lines and a few wrinkles. Despite his age, his blue eyes remained bright and full of wisdom.
"Hi, Mrs. Aurora, it's nice to have you here! You are welcome," Edward greeted, signaling for Aurora to sit.
"Without wasting much time, you can just get started with the test as discussed. Check what exactly the issue is so we can know the possible ways to resolve it! I need a grandchild!" Harrison said with deep curiosity. He had chosen Aurora years back because of her innocence and aura. After her marriage to his son, Harrison had been anticipating having a grandchild. However, he was disappointed day after day without any positive results from Aurora and Caspian.
"Great, sir! However, I would love to have some private moments with Aurora. Could you give us some privacy, sir?" Dr. Edward requested from Harrison. Aurora was glad; at least she could try out her power without Mr. Harrison's knowledge.
"Oh, it's fine!" Harrison responded as he watched Aurora walk behind Dr. Edward into his private office.
Once there, without hesitation, Aurora dropped the bomb.
"With due respect, Dr. Edward, why do you employ uncultured people in this reputable organization?" Aurora asked before Dr. Edward could offer her a seat. Dr. Edward looked around, his eyes scanning the room to confirm if anyone else was there, his brows furrowing.
"I want that receptionist called Jane fired! She doesn't fit to work in this organization," Aurora demanded before Dr. Edward could reply.
"Excuse me?" Dr. Edward asked, mystified, wondering what had come over Aurora.
"You heard me right! Well, Dr. Edward, I need you to do this for me. I know you are an elderly man, and you are obedient, and you wouldn't want to lose all you worked for just in minutes," Aurora continued with utmost confidence. There was an unprecedented look in Dr. Edward's eyes as continuous shock bubbled in his heart. He couldn't find anything to say and kept staring at her blankly, expecting more.
"Well, you don't need to do any tests. All you will do is just form a result and inform my father-in-law that there is nothing wrong with me. Ensure you input on the result sheet that every necessary test has been done, and all should read negative. Tell him his son must do a test as well, and when you carry out the test, let it state that he has a low sperm count, that the fault is from him!" Aurora said firmly as she sat on the armchair, balancing her hands firmly on the arms of the chair.
"Mrs. Aurora, are you in your right senses? What the hell are you talking about?" Dr. Edward said, shocked, his mouth agape. He had been working as a reputable doctor for years and had never encountered such a request, not even from his previous director. He wondered why Aurora could request such a heinous thing from him. Before he could say anything, Aurora brought out the golden card Seraphine had given to her. She stretched it out to Dr. Edward.
"Yeah! It's either you agree to my request or just lose everything in the blink of an eye,” Aurora threatened, looking deeply into Dr. Edward's eyes. Dr. Edward was awestruck. He couldn't believe the sight of what Aurora had just stretched out to him.
"This golden card is so familiar! It's only for Her Majesty Seraphine. How come she has it?” Dr. Edward thought, shocked and confused.
"Oh! Is that a fake card with you? That card only belongs to Her Majesty Seraphine. Well! How come you have it? It must definitely be fake!" Edward affirmed, taking the card from Aurora as he observed it hastily.
"You can confirm it! I am the new director!" Aurora declared. It was then Edward remembered that the news had been sent to all the managers of Pinnacle Group of Companies that a new director had taken over, and she would be introduced to all soon.
"Unbelievable! How come? We all…" Dr. Edward started to argue before Aurora cut him off.
"You do not need to argue! Just confirm!" Dr. Edward immediately scanned the card and was amazed when he saw that the new director was indeed Aurora. He immediately bowed his head to his new director.
"Now! Will you do my bidding? And don't forget, no one knows my identity!" Aurora said with a stern face. With her new hidden power, she vowed to become what she had always desired.
"Of course, your Majesty, your wish is my command," Dr. Edward said.
Soon afterward, Aurora stood up and went to the main office to meet Harrison, who was busy on a call.
She sat gently beside her father-in-law, who was in a long discussion with one of his business partners. After about 20 minutes, Dr. Edward entered, holding a file containing the fake test results, just as Harrison was concluding his call.
"Oh! Is that the result?" Harrison asked before Dr. Edward could say anything. Despite being in an air-conditioned room, his body was still dripping with sweat, which he wiped off with a white handkerchief.
"Yes, sir," Dr. Edward responded, balancing on his seat as he stretched out the results to Harrison. Harrison immediately opened the file and pulled out the paper with various inscriptions.
"Wow! All I am seeing here is negative! Negative! Does it mean Aurora is completely alright?" Harrison demanded with extreme surprise.
"Yes, Sir Harrison, Mrs. Aurora here is one hundred percent alright," Dr. Edward said affirmatively, nodding his head in agreement.
"Oh! What exactly could be the issue now?" Harrison asked.
"Well, the issue of childlessness doesn't lie with the woman alone. I suggest her husband take the test also to determine his level of fertility," Dr. Edward said firmly. Aurora was glad where she sat, pretending to be sad with the news.
"Oh! That's unbelievable. I will call him right away! We need to get to the root of the issue today!" Harrison said and dialed Caspian's number. He was glad Caspian picked up immediately.
"You need to meet me right away at the hospital; there is fire on the mountain," Harrison said and hung up the call.
Chapter 55Annabel did not sleep that night, she lay on her bed, her eyes were wide opened, and she stared at the ceiling and her mind kept replaying Caspian’s words.“My wife is back.”Her fingers moved into the sheets.“No,” she whispers. “Not again… not this time.”She sat up fast, her breathing was uneven and her eyes burned with something dark, fear, anger and desperation.Aurora was back, alive and powerful and worse… Caspian still wanted her.Annabel stood and walked to the mirror and she stared at her reflection for a long time.“You didn’t come this far to lose,” she told herself and her lips slowly lifted into a smile, not a happy one but a dangerous one.“If she doesn’t remember anything… then this is my chance.”The next morning came fast and Annabel dressed carefully, a neat outfit, calm face and no sign of anger. She picked her phone and dialed a number.“Hello,” she said sweetly. “I would like to schedule a business meeting with Miss Aurora.”There was a short pause.“Y
Chapter 54Caspian did not sleep, he sat on the edge of his bed, still in the same clothes and his eyes were open, but they saw nothing but his mind kept running back to her.Aurora.Standing there. Looking at him like he was nobody, and then he gripped his hair.“No… something is wrong.”His phone lay beside him and he stared at it for a long time and then he grabbed it.“Ralph.”The call connected almost at once.“Boss?”“I want everything.” Caspian’s voice was low but firm. “Everything about her. Where she has been. Who she is now. Who she is working with. I want every detail.”Ralph pauses. “Sir… I already started digging last night.”“Not enough.” Caspian cut in. “Dig deeper. I don’t care how. I want answers.”“Yes, boss.”“And Ralph…”“Yes?”Caspian’s jaw tightened.“Find out about that child.”And there was silence for a second.“The baby girl?”“Yes.”“Understood.”Caspian ended the call and he leaned back, staring at the ceiling.“Aurora…” he whispered. “What happened to you?
Chapter 53The black SUV sped forward and Caspian’s car followed behind like a shadow, his eyes did not leave the taillights in front of him, not even for one second and his breathing was heavy and his chest felt tight.“She’s alive…” he whispered and his fingers tightened on the steering wheel.“And she stood there… looked at me… and said she doesn’t know me.”He shakes his head slowly.“No… that’s not possible.”The SUV turned into a private road and the place looked different from the busy street, quite and protected and then Caspian frowned.“Where is she going?”The car ahead slowed down and then…A large gate appeared, tall, black and strong, there were cameras at every corner and armed guards stood on both sides. The SUV then stopped for just a second and immediately, the gate opened wide, there were no questions or delay and Caspian’s brows pulled together.“They didn’t even check her…”The SUV drove inside smoothly and Caspian pressed the accelerator to follow but before he g
Caspian arrived at Aurora's Group, his heart rang with anticipation. He strode confidently toward the entrance, but the security guard stepped forward and blocked his path."I'm sorry, sir, but I can't let you in without an appointment," the guard said, his tone firmed was firm but polite.Caspian's brow rose. "Do you know who I am?" he asked and introducing himself as one of the prominent CEOs in Montana. The guard remained unmoved. "I understand, sir, but Miss. Aurora has requested not to meet anyone today. She has a full schedule."Caspian's frustration grew, but he nodded and stepped back. He couldn't leave now. He needed to see her, to speak with her.Hours passed as he waited outside and was observing the comings and goings of employees. The building is more magnificent than he imagined, it was an edifice of glass and steel, and reflecting the sky above and the bustling city below. It was a testament to Aurora's success, a success he once shared with her. Then, a sleek SUV pul
Caspian stood in between his living room, loud and restless. He yanked off his jacket, threw it carelessly on the couch, and ran a hand through his hair, pacing the floor like a man on the edge.He couldn’t sit. He couldn’t breathe properly. His heart was still pounding from what just happened at the mall. She didn’t recognise him.He coldn’t believe that Aurora looked him in the face and walked away like he was a stranger. No, he told himself. That was not possible. She was lying. Pretending. Maybe because she saw him with Annabel. Maybe… maybe that hurt her. That was the only explanation. He grabbed a glass from the bar and poured himself a drink, his hand was shaking slightly. The amber liquid swirled in the glass, but he didn’t drink it. He just held it, staring blankly.Suddenly, he heard footsteps behind him.He turned and saw Annabel coming down the stairs, wearing a silky, wine-red dress that clung to her curves like a second skin. Her hair flown over her shoulders. She was we
Chapter 50Three years. It was three years now since the plane crash that turned Caspian’s world apart. Not a single day went by that he didn’t replay the tragedy in his mind. The scream, the fire, the silence that followed. He lost Aurora… or so he thought.Today, he walked silently beside Annabel inside the largest mall in Montana. She giggled at something he didn’t catch; he was too distracted. His mind wasn't in the present. It hasn't been, not since he buried a part of his soul with Aurora's name on it.Annabel was now freed after the new government overturned several convictions and had slowly crept back into Caspian’s life. Not that he welcomed her with open arms. However, after years of loneliness and numbness, he no longer had the energy to fight everyone. He barely even talks during their outing, only responding with nods.He reached for a black shirt on the rack when his phone buzzed sharply in his pocket. He grabbed it instantly.“Sir, it’s Ralph,” the voice said, breathle
Caspian sat alone in Aurora’s sitting room, staring blankly at the floor. His heart ached with the pains of her rejection. He had come to her hoping to change her mind, to remind her of what they once shared, but she was so cold and distant to him. He did not know what else to do.His fingers ran t
Caspian paced his study, his mind restless as he waited for Ralph’s call. He had spent the entire night thinking of ways to win Aurora back. Now that the DNA test had proven the child was not his, he had no reason to let her go. He needed to see her, to make things right. He somehow got provoked, a

Her expression was cold, distant, as if the love they once shared had been erased completely. He rushed to her side, grabbing her wrist gently."Aurora, please," he pleaded, his voice raw w
