Eero’s perspectiveAlpha Claudius wrapped his arm around my body to make sure that I was well protected before our body plunged to the depth of the sea. I was staring into his eyes. The worried look in his eyes was the last thing that I can remember, before everything went dark, and I felt the winter – like coldness of the sea.The sun was about to set when I slowly regained my consciousness. A harsh wave pushed me further to the shore. I slowly got up, feeling a little dizzy. I sat on the sand and clutched my head, hoping that things will stop spinning each time I looked at it. Before I could fully recover, Alpha Claudius and Caspian crossed on my mind. I immediately looked around, but I couldn't find them anywhere near me. Fear began to hammer my chest. I was worried that something bad might have happened to them. I looked on top of the cliff and found no one. Alpha Ameo and his men probably left us alone after they thought that we passed away from the fall. “Alpha Claudius! Be
Claudius’ perspectiveWith my eyes still closed, I can hear a familiar, soft and feminine voice calling my name. It was clear in her tone that she was crying. “Alpha, you can't leave me! Wake up! Your pack needs you! I need you!” she said with an evident desperation in her voice. I felt her lightly tapping my cheeks. When she stopped, I felt a tear drop down from her eyes and fell straight onto my cheeks. Eero! It was Eero's voice! She was the one holding me and sobbing. I opened my eyes. Our eyes met, and yet, my forehead knotted immediately. She looked pale, and her lips were quivering. Her hand felt cold too. Just when I was about to reach for her cheeks after I called her name, she flashed a smile out of relief. I saw her eyes close in slow motion. The next moment, she fell to the ground. “Eero!” I shouted at her. I got up from lying on her lap. It was my turn to have her head on my lap.“W-What happened to her? Why does she look like this? She feels cold!” I asked and info
Claudius’ perspective“That is what you need to do to save the breeder who had saved you from the brink of your death,” she said. “You must mark her. Officially claim her as yours.” The Moon Goddess when silent for a moment. It felt like her keen eyes were watching every expression that flashed through my eyes. “If you want to save her, you have to do that before sunrise.” “By marking her, I could no longer be with my true mate, right?” “Yes.” “You want me to give up my true mate?” “No. I am neither asking nor requiring you to give up your mate, Claudius. I am giving you options. You can make your own choice.” The Moon Goddess looked at me patiently as I got torn between the options. “You haven't found your true mate, am I right?” It felt like my tongue went numb, and I could no longer say anything to her. Yet I still needed to give an answer to her, so I chose to nod my head. “Very well. You can choose to save the woman that you are with now and make her your mate, or you can
Eero’s perspective“What do you mean? I am your mate now?” I stared at the Alpha's eyes. It was dark, and I couldn't seem to decipher the emotion behind his dark gazes… Was he mad? But why would he be mad at me? “You are my mate, as in you have my mark, Eero." It took everything in me to know that rolling my eyes in a situation like this would anger him. I remained patient even when my insides started to shake. “I know that I had your mark. I could still feel the pain from it in my neck. I am asking you why?” I had enough of waiting for him to open his lips and say something. Then I figured out that he would prefer to leave me and my question hanging. “If others, not just the Alphas, but if anyone heard that you've given your mark to a breeder, they would mock and make fun of you.” “Then I will kill them. Now that you have my mark, everyone in every pack must respect you the way they respect me. If they disrespect my mate in any way…” “What? You are going to kill them all?” “I
Eero’s perspective“I-I don't want to be a breeder anymore. It's just my second day as a breeder, b-but I can't stand it anymore.” “I just turned sixteen. I am not even an omega, and yet, they made me a breeder,” she said with her voice cracking. Alpha Claudius looked at me and I quickly understood what he wanted me to do. I took the young girl from his arms into mine to make her felt protected. She caught a whiff of something, and then she looked up at me. “You were marked by the Alpha? You are now our Luna?” She asked me in a small voice. I only smiled at her. Alpha Claudius started making his way to the common ground of the village. Instead of following the Alpha, Beta Caspian chose to check on the poor young girl. “Averi, that is your name, right? You are the firstborn daughter of Logan? Where is your father?” “Why did he let this happen to you?” He continued to ask. Beta Caspian's question caused me to look at him. He was implying that this girl's father had a position tha
Eero’s perspective“You know that you don't really need to do this, right? I can walk on my own,” Alpha Claudius asked me to stop walking over when his incoming footsteps halted. “You can barely walk on your own, Alpha. Let me just help you, okay? I don’t want others to see you in this condition.” I asked him. “I need to talk to my loyal deltas and warriors,” he said to me. I looked at his face. My eyes asked what he was trying to imply. “And punish those that helped Killian usurped my throne,” he added. I nodded my head at him. I was about to help him take another step, but the Alpha didn't budge. Instead, he glared at me. “You can do that later. Let me help you treat the wounds.” “No!” He said, his voice slightly louder than usual. Alpha Claudius looked around before he dropped his eyes back to me. “I am not going to let you use your power. You are still weak, Eero. I’m afraid that using it in your current condition will put you in danger.” My heart stopped beating for a mome
Eero’s perspective“What do you still want from me? And don't give me the bullshit that you want me back in the pack because I am your daughter, and we are a family.” “Oh, sweetie. I thought we were over that? We offered to welcome you back warmly, which you declined.” Alpha Ameo leaned closer to me, as if he was memorizing all my facial features. He even fixed my hair for me, and then he smiled malice. “With everything that happened, I’m afraid we can't give you that same offer twice,” he said before settling back near his wife. Luna Vera was glaring at me too. She was jealous of the way her husband touched me. “And stop playing dumb. You know why we must have you back.” “If there's someone whom you should be helping with your special gift—”“I will never use this power to help anyone from this pack. I loathe every single lycan in this territory!” “Oh, you do?” Luna Vera asked as she grabbed my hair, pulling it harder with each second that passed. “If you won't use your power
Eero’s perspectiveI opened my mouth and was about to shout for help. Alpha Ameo would protect me if I promise to help him in return. Then I would think of a way to get out of this cursed place. But Trevor was prepared for that. It was as if he can see right through me. He took out a double-edge knife from his back and swirled it between fingers. "Are you sure you want to create an unnecessary noise?" Trevor finally sat at the edge of my bed. There was no room for me to maintain a decent gap between the two of us. "I can surely throw this in your neck and kill you faster than one can come up to check on you if you shout." He took a small pause. He trailed the pointy end of the knife from my lips down to my chest. Trevor's lusty eyes found mine, and he started to chuckle like a mad man. "You are free to pick between the options I offered," he said. I didn't say anything nor make any move, and that made him smile at me. "Good girl. I always knew that you were a smart girl," he sa
