Eero's Perspective
"I'll go ahead, Eero. Don't worry if you don't want to stop by at the realm. I won't tell your father that I bumped into you," Luna Queen Aelice said. She waved her hand at Perseus and turned her back to us.
I watched her walk out of the coffee shop. My wolf urged me to drag Perseus away from this place until my wolf alerted me of a shifter's presence.
"Shit! It's Beta Caspian! Why is he here?" I whispered to myself.
"Mom, do you know who he is?" Perseus asked. His voice is filled with curiosity and so is his pair of innocent eyes. I looked at Caspian who was seriously looking at Perseus.
I averted my eyes from Caspian and looked down on Perseus who was waiting for a reasonable answer from me.
I smiled sweetly as I crouched to level his height with mine.
"Does he know you? It looks like he knows you. Because if not and he's looking at you like that then he's being rude and creepy?" Perseus asked.
Eero's Perspective"But, you'll be back soon, right? When Perseus wakes up I'm sure he'll look for you and you know that I'm not good at lying, Eero." I nodded at Diana and strode my way to the door to leave."And I thought you only agreed to be adopted by Codrus because of the power and connections that you'll get to have," My wolf commented after it felt how deeply affected I was by the possibility that Codrus' days are short and it's only a matter of short time before he took his last breath."He adopted me for his selfish reason, but you know too that Codrus had learned to love me like his own pup. He did his best to protect me and Perseus. When Alice had a miscarriage everyone was pointing at me as the mastermind of that tragedy." I closed my eyes, not wanting to dig deep at the memories of the painful memories."The Alpha King believed me. He was the reason why Beta Octavio couldn't do anything to me, and my son.""Don't be scared, Eero
Eero's perspectiveI watched the strong Alpha King of the Regulus pack take his last breath after unraveling Aelice and Beta Octavio's dark secret."Did the Alpha King tell you the truth about Vance and your ex-best friend's evil plan?" Claudius asked. He now stands behind me. I didn't even realize that he got in."My best friend, the Aelice that I know, wouldn't be able to do such vile things. I want to think that the Aelice that had become my best friend is dead. My best friend and the Luna Queen are not the same shifter," I said to Claudius with my back still turned against him.
Eero's perspective.I closed the door behind me and bit my lower lip."I'm here. It's okay, you can cry. You don't have to fake a strong facade. I know what you're feeling," my wolf said to me.Within a snap, the emptiness that's been consuming me for quite some time lightens up as I see Perseus sleeping peacefully on our bed with his animal-printed pairs of pajamas. I dropped my bag on the dresser, then removed the stilettos I was wearing, and slowly walked closer to the bed.I placed a feather-light
Eero's perspectiveThe entire trip to the funeral for my adoptive father's funeral was shrouded in deafening silence."I can't stand this anymore. I should have hailed a taxi or called a nearby driver to pick me up. The awkwardness is killing me," I whispered to my wolf."If you didn't bring up your past with him, things would be less awkward, and he told you why Claudius had to pick you up."I couldn't help but raise my brow, "Did you think that the Luna Queen–""Yes, Eero. When was the last time you had a proper word with her? Three? Four years ago. A lot can happen within that period, and Luna Aelice is thousands of miles different from the Aelice you first met."Looking around the road. I realized that Claudius took a route that I was not familiar with."Are we still far?" I asked Claudius, not sparing him a glance. I looked at my wristwatch and saw it was already 7:48 in the morning. Perseus is probably awake and looking for me."I hope Perseus won't call me while I'm with Claudiu
Eero's perspective"I beg your pardon? If Codrus didn't accept Claudius as your mate back when he was still alive. What made you think that you can come back to him now? Aelice wouldn't allow you to reject Miguel Blackthorn." Beta Octavio soon painted a mocking smile on his lips, insinuating something."Aelice wouldn't allow me? What makes you think that I need the Luna Queen's permission to reject my husband and run back to my true second chance mate?"It was now my turn to smile or smirk at Beta Octavio."Aelice is the Luna Queen, and until you're crowned the new Alpha of Regulus and Queen of the realm, my daughter will remain as the shifter who holds the highest position.""It will take a while before you can manage to win the favors of the council to crown you—""But they would still prefer me if they discovered that the Luna Queen's son isn't the Alpha King's." Beta Octavio's jaw clenched."Ask me how I found out?" I dared the beta, but he rem
Eero's perspective"He's not mine, but yours. It was Perseus that I was talking to earlier, your pup, Claudius." Caspian said to his best friend and Claudius looked like someone threw a bomb at him. His jaw clenched and he was eyeing me dangerously."Fuck you, Caspian" I blurted out. I turned away from my ex-second chance mate and in a moment like this where I don't know what exactly to tell Claudius, walking out is what it seems like the only option that would save my ass from here."Eero, come back here! We're not yet done talking!" Claudius hissed inside of my head. My footsteps were halted, taken aback by the fact that we could still communicate with each other through telepathy."Why do you look so shocked?" Claudius once again asked inside of my head. My lips trembled, I pivot and exactly at that moment, Claudius inched the distance between us, gazing at me fiercely."How can you still talk to me through telepathy? You already rejected me as your second chance mate, and you're w
Eero's perspectiveI narrowed my eyes at Claudius and slightly nudged his arm to follow up on the question that I had asked him earlier."Did my son saw us, Claudius?" I asked again through the mind link. Claudius was about to finally open his lips to respond to me when I heard Perseus whining at Miguel."Papa, why did you cover my eyes? Let go of me, Papa! I'm coming to greet, Mama. Why are you stopping me?" Hearing that from my pup gave me the courage to turn around to them."Papa, let go of my eyes
Eero's PerspectiveAll the words that I've been meaning to say to stop my son from leaving with Claudius got stuck in my throat. The two were already meters away from me when I found myself capable of forming words. I turned to face Miguel and all that he could give me was an apologetic smile and a little shrug."Well, at least he didn't tell Perseus that he is his father, right?" Miguel followed me as I found myself walking back to my old room in the realm."Claudius will surely ask permission when the time comes and he wants Perseus to know that he isn't just an uncle, but his fat
