Alpha Noah's POV After the courtroom saga and how Maya had treated me with disdain on my way out, I decided to give up on the fight and lie low. My decision didn't last for long because, with each passing minute, I would start to imagine Anna in my arms. She was all I lived for and letting her go just like that wasn't easy for me. Resting my head against my study table, I tried to forget about the whole thing and focus on the scroll in front of me but each time I decide to do so, her face will appear in my head, clouding my senses. Unable to bear it anymore, I pushed the chair backwards and then stepped out of my chambers only to be accosted by Beta Liam who was directly behind the door. “My lord, where are you headed?” He asked. “Moonlight pack.” I snapped at him, brushing him off my path. “What?” He gasped with his hands over his mouth. Ignoring him, I continued walking towards the exit when he suddenly appeared in front of me. He tried to catch his breath before spea
Author's POV The noise of battle rented the air as Alpha Jasper and his army continued their procession into the Crestwolf Pack. His army set fires in any house they came across, and once the building erupted into flames, the occupants would all come rushing out, trying to fathom what was going on, only to get killed. This process went on for a while before others became alert, and they tried to alert the pack house, but it was too late. The moonlight pack had infiltrated into their pack and there was no hiding place for anyone. “Kill everyone, from the old to the young, even sulking pups, kill them all.” Alpha Jasper yelled from where he stood. At his command, his army doubled their attack, taking down three at all times as they continued moving further into the pack, the blades of their swords shimmering under the bright sunlight. It was a war that was going to make waves in the history of werewolves for generations to come. Apart from punishing Alpha Noah for crossing
Author's POV “Accepted.” Alpha Jasper said with a smirk. Signaling to Beta Jacob, he asked him to put the fight on hold but he should also make sure that no one escaped. “Yes, my lord.” Beta Jacob said and then turned around to carry out the instruction. Crouching, Alpha Noah placed his hands on the ground as his senses sharpened and body contorted as the usual cracking of muscles stretching and rearranging rented the air. Slowly, his fur became visible, a thick, silky golden brown fur that was glistening under the setting sun. On Alpha Jasper’s part, when he fully transformed into wolf form, which was a bit bigger than Alpha Noah's, dark fur appeared as his grey orbs glistened. To show his dominance, he began to snarl his teeth, causing Alpha Noah's wolf to take several steps backwards. He was scared of the wolf in front of him but his fear was not enough to make him want to give up. Suddenly, Alpha Noah surged towards him, and soon, the two wolves, their eyes blaring wi
Anna's POV Presently, I was in the courtroom, sitting at the head of the table with the wives of the Betas flanked on both sides. As expected, they were all dressed exquisitely, trying to outdo the other in their battle of relevance. Sitting here made my insides churn as a creeping sensation clouded my senses. These were the same set of people who kicked against me being the Luna of Moonlight Pack but here they are, chatting and laughing hysterically as if they were innocent. Only the thought of this wanted to make me slam their heads against each other but I couldn't bring myself to do that so, I had no choice but to bottle everything. Holding onto my glass of wine, I tried to blend in with their conversation but I didn't have anything to say. Their stories were centered on things that were going on in the pack and since I had no idea of it all, I kept mute, taking note of every detail. “My lady.” Beta Jacob’s wife called, startling me in the process. Smiling nervously at he
Anna's POV Maya's voice was firm and unwavering, I could see the anger and pain in her eyes and at this point, I couldn't do anything, not even trying to comfort her. Alpha Noah was her childhood friend, losing him because of his act of stupidity was one thing and also because of someone manipulation was something else. “She made innocent wolves die, I'm not going to spare her either.” Maya said, staring at the wall. Pulling her to myself, I began to rub circles on her back as I tried to soothe her and for the next few minutes that followed, we didn't say a word to each other. For reasons best known to Lillian, she stepped out of the chamber only to return the next minute with her eyes widened in fear. “What's the issue?” I asked, staring right back at her. “Alpha Jasper is back and he is coming straight to the chamber.” She said in a whisper and almost immediately, Maya pulled herself up. “I should take my leave now before he sees me.” “Yes, please.” I said hurriedly
Selena POV The first time that I heard the rumor of Alpha Jasper going to war against the Crestwolf pack, I couldn't bring myself to believe it. I had this strong belief that he wouldn't stoop so low to engage another pack in a war all because of a woman but to my horror, he actually went to war and not only that, he wiped the pack of every single existence. It was disheartening to learn of the war but there was nothing I could do rather than to moan in silence but it didn't last though. Before the war, I had been thinking of the perfect way to eliminate Alpha Noah so that my facade would be hidden but I couldn't come up with any. Thanks to the war, Alpha Jasper had done the dirty job and now I was free. “I hope he didn't tell him I was the mastermind of the plan?” I asked, suddenly realizing the possibility of it. For a while, I was shaking with fear as I thought about what Alpha Jasper would do to me. Back at the courtroom, I had made him believe that it was all Alpha
Anna's POV Ever since the argument that happened between me and Alpha Jasper, he hasn't returned to the chambers, causing me a great deal of worry in the process. Each time I reviewed what had happened between us in my head, I never for once saw why Alpha Jasper reacted the way he did. If he had been in my shoes, I bet he would have reacted the same way. For crying out loud, the issue involved my friend who had just lost her childhood friend. Because of this, I couldn't sit back and watch. I didn't have to be in her shoes to know that she was hurted with everything that had happened and the least I could do as a friend was to comfort her in the time of her grief. To be honest, I don't think I did anything wrong in confronting him. The least he could have said to me was, stay out of the pack issues instead of trying to prove his authority. Maya must have been waiting for me because I had promised to go see her in her chambers but because of the argument we had, I was disheve
Anna's POV “Anna…” mother called but I raised my hand above my head, sending the rest of her words back into her mouth. If I had known her mission here was to spew something of this sort, I wouldn't have come to see her. At this point, I was contemplating on letting her know the reason Alpha Jasper had gone to war against the Crestwolf pack since she must have heard of it but because I didn't want to push her away from the palace, I swallowed everything in. “Mom, I think you should just stop here.” I said with a low tone. Holding her shoulders, I stared deep into her eyes but I couldn't bring myself to say a word to her. The only thing ringing in my head was Alpha Noah's death and the moment I parted my lips, I knew I was going to tell her everything and she in turn would be scared. “Anna, please hear me out. Each time I think about this, a bout of guilt hits me and there is nothing I can do about it until…” “Mother, I'd advise you to just forget about everything.” I said
