Anna's POV

For more than an hour, I have been standing in the middle of my chambers, my hands across my chest as I stared into space.

Mother's death had left me disoriented and at the same time, my head was running haywire with different thoughts I couldn't comprehend.

Yelling out my lungs was my best option at this point but I didn't want to draw unnecessary attention to myself.

With my eyes tightly shut, I balled my hands into a fist, my fingers piercing my palm and drawing out blood in the process.

“Mother,” I called, hot tears rolling down my eyes.
