Sebastian Arlhout Carter

My alarm went off but I didn’t get up. I was already wide awake. I’m not even sure if I fell asleep last night.

The sound of the rain pitter-pattering outside my mansion somehow comforted me before I decided to raise my body.

I peered my eyes on the calendar that was full of many marks, “Three years since I lost you…since you left me, Tisha,”

I have been counting those days ever since I lost her, it was to remind myself every day that I need to go and find her.

With the remaining strength I had in my body, I completely rose from the bed and placed my feet on the cold carpet below it.

I paced towards the bathroom to do my morning rituals and combed my hair using my hands which grew so long that I vowed not to cut it until I found her.

Without another word, I took a bath and slipped into my favorite tux, and stared at the necktie she used to wear to me before.

I have no idea why she left me, but I didn’t stop looking for her. There wasn't any sign of her running away with another man or any reason why she stole money from me.

No signs of why she had to leave me either. Though there is one thing that she might use as a reason to leave me.

An identity I am not so proud of myself. Something that might put my life and family on the line if things went wrong.

Shaking my head, I decided to step out of my room without any necktie. I got used to it now after three years.

“Alpha, good morning,” Cyrus Hudson greeted me while bowing his head. He is my butler and beta at the same time.

He is the one always managing my schedules and helps me on my knees when things turn...strange when I break down.

“Tell me, Cyrus, what is good without my wife around?” I asked him while walking towards the spacious hallways.

“Nothing sir, but still, a good morning because it is raining,” He told me, making me snigger because he likes rain a lot.

“I wish I could appreciate the rain like you are, but it only reminds me how miserable I am without my wife,” I hissed.

After I stepped foot inside my spacious living room, Vanelope Browne approached me with worry etched on her face.

She is my trusted ally, mate of Cyrus, and the closest friend of my wife. “Alpha, there is something you need to see,” She reported.

“What is it?” I immediately took the papers from her hands and saw that it was a picture of my wife in a province but she was young here.

“She looked adorable in her teens as well,” I bit my lower lip while staring at that old picture and pitied myself for being like this. I am yearning for her.

Every single night it was only her I could think about, damn it.

“Maybe, we should stop looking for other countries and look for her locally, I mean, we all know she is bright, she might’ve thought we are going to look for her in other countries first,” Vanelope suggested.

I thought about what she said. We have been searching other countries for the whole three years and didn’t get any signs of her.

Vanelope claimed that she might’ve used another identity years ago, but the cameras should have seen her around the airport, but there weren’t any.

She completely wiped off any track that we could use to help us find her. Tisha looks like she was desperate to hide her identity so no one would find her.

“Alright, we can start searching locally, starting with this province first,” I told everyone as they nodded.

“I’ll start telling our people to look at this province, it would be a while since this is the largest province in that continent,” Vanelope muttered before leaving.

“Also the pack and the…vampires are arguing again in the backyard, Alpha, what should we do about them?” Cyrus asked.

I massaged my forehead before rubbing my face, “Handle them for now, I have no room to deal with their immature problems as of this moment,”

Cyrus only lowered his head before I decided to go to work. Werewolves and vampires, it wasn’t long until they started following me.

Only a few consider me as their leader because some of them are furious about a hybrid leading them. I was cursed with our generation's sickness.

I tried so hard to hide these for years and things are getting more dangerous as some werewolves and vampires are after my life.

They knew I had a family. Three years ago, they tried to kill my wife without her knowing which is why I am furious every single night they attack.

I can’t sleep because I have to protect her, it would be worse if she found out. Was she upset about me not sleeping right next to her back then?

I shook my head, for now, I have to look for her because the threats to her and my life are still not stopping.

Rebel werewolves and vampires don’t like me to lead anyone because they think my blood is tainted, they will do whatever it takes to put me down.

I got to work after parking my car in the lot. Numerous people immediately approached me with cameras and microphones, and I got pissed off.

They will ask about my wife again and her whereabouts, one of the reasons why going to work is like a nightmare to me.

Aside from that, I hate them asking about her because they will put these to the media. Those people who hate my reign to both werewolves and vampires want will get more reason to look for her first.

They wanted to see me fall to my knees and the only way they could do that was to kill my wife, who I loved so dearly.

“Mr. Carter! Have you found your missing wife? Are you getting there? Are there any clues to finding her?” Reporters asked.

I only smiled, “We are doing our best to look for her, that is all I can say in the matter, so please excuse me,”

Numerous cameras and reporters still followed me until the guards of our company came to protect me from them.

I let out a deep sigh after realizing that I was far from those people. I immediately looked for a toilet room to look in the mirror before washing my face.

Every time I hear questions like that it makes me feel traumatized about my wife leaving me. I’m sure she had reasons.

“Well, well, well, Sebastian Arlhout Carter, it’s good to see you again,” I heard someone speaking beside me.

I raised my gaze and saw one of those creatures who doesn’t like me so much, “What do you want, Rowan?”

Rowan Lynx Parker. A werewolf who is opposed to my position to lead both kinds because he loathed me.

What is the reason? The same one as everyone else who hates me because I am a hybrid, I am a vampire and werewolf in one body.

“Oh just to see you in despair without your wife around, she must’ve found out and left you for no reason,” He sniggered.

I sighed deeply before deciding to dry my hands with some tissues, “If that is all you have to say to me, then I will be leaving now,”

Before I could walk out of the toilet room, he cornered me towards the walls with the use of his strength.

“You better not act so mighty hybrid, remember, we are also looking for your wife and if we find her first, you will only be seeing her head,” He smirked.

I looked at him blankly before using my strength to throw him inside the cubicle, “I only have one request even if you don’t follow me, Rowan, leave me be and my wife or all of your people will be dead,”

After I said those words, I left while clenching my fists. I am losing my patience and I might turn into something beastly here.

The only one who can calm me was my wife before, her mere presence is enough to reassure me that no matter what will happen, it will be alright.

Now that she isn’t here, I have been struggling to control myself and it is one of the reasons why losing her is one of my huge problems right now.

I have to learn to control myself without her around. What he said a while ago lingered in my mind.

Letters are always being delivered to my fake home inside the city, my mansion in the woods is a secret from the human world.

Those letters contain death letters about they are looking for my wife, more reason for me to go look for her before they do.

I read a letter once that I should lose hope, but I didn’t, because I could still feel her presence out there.

“Tisha, please, where can I find you?” I bit my lower lip before deciding to calm myself down before going to work.

I am an actor and the wealthiest man living in Manila City. Despite my great looks that have been passed down by generations, I became more famous with my talent.

A lot of projects were given to me after my first act and that is where things started going around until I managed to build up my own business and met her.

I met my wife because my investors made sure I got to know her. I thought she was going to be the same as every woman I met.

They loved me because of my riches, talents, and popularity but Letisha was different because she loathed me at first.

She hated to be in an arranged marriage with me, she was forced to marry me to form ties with my business.

I didn’t complain because indeed her family has this connection I needed as a head start and she was my mate. I just never thought I would be falling this deep for her.

Both of us fell for each other the longer we spent time with one another, which is why I understood why she was that way at first.

I decided to focus on work because I am thinking so much about her again. It ended early because the director was pleased with the shoot.

“Mr. Carter!” I glanced from behind and saw my partner running towards me while catching her breath, “I need a moment with you,”

“What is it? Did something happen?” I raised my eyebrows. She finally composed herself and offered her sweetest smile.

“Can I invite you to dinner tonight? Just the two of us,” She nervously invited while playing with her fingers.

I smiled at her, “I’m sorry, Amelia, someone already prepared food at home, I told them so,”

“You always say that it’s okay to go out sometimes for you not to be too distracted about your missing—”

“She will be found soon,” I muttered coldly before leaving the set with my hands forming into a fist.

I drove home thinking a lot of things about my wife, her absence changed me a lot from head to toe. Physically and mentally.

After parking my car on the lot, I found Vanelope running towards me as if she had found something disturbing.

“You and your wife might be in danger, Alpha, the leader of the vampires, sent pictures of her before she left the city,” She revealed to me an envelope with pictures of her from the cab and the airport.

“How do you know it was him who sent it?” I curiously asked while checking those pictures, stopping after seeing a ‘WBC’ signature on the bottom corner of the pictures.

“William Brix Chellvan, he will pay if he did something to my wife,” I clenched my fists before removing my coat because of my frustrations. Vanelope followed me inside as if she still had something to say to me.

“What is it? Do you still have something to say to me?” I glanced at her, and she nodded before wiping some tears away.

“I think…I have found her Alpha, I already booked some tickets for you, I wanted to come but still, someone has to be left here to manage important stuff,” She informed me as my eyes widened.

“W-Where did you find her?” I asked, feeling my heart thumping inside my chest as if it wants to get out.

She is found? I don’t know what to feel right now, everything's happening so fast to the point that my mind can’t process it.

“A province called Palawan, it’s a huge one, but someone saw her at this huge villa, it might be a little difficult to find but you will manage,”

She gave me another envelope filled with information about where she lives and the tickets, “I paid a lot for this, it was like someone paid a lot of money for her not to be found, and she had a different name so you can check it yourself if that is really her,”

“You guys found her?” Cyrus entered the living room and hugged his mate, “Good job, my future wife,”

“Oh stop, you helped me find her together with our people, but we are not sure if that is her just yet,” Vanelope claimed, “Are you alright, Alpha?”

I nodded slowly while gripping that envelope, “Ready my private jet, I am checking if it’s her,”
