"Travis." I began trying to determine how exactly I was going to go about doing this. "I think...."
"Don't even think about it." Travis warned eyes flashing. "I know what you're about to say and I won't accept a word that comes out of your mouth."
"But..." I tried only for Travis to suddenly look towards the window.
I had just enough time to see the outline of something big crashing through before Travis had hold of me pulling me behind the couch as whatever that thing was crashed through the glass.
"What the hell?" I hissed peeking over the couch to see Thomas laying on the ground looking dazed with his nose and lip bleeding.
"Why is that guy crashing through my window?" Travis growled jumping from behind the couch and making his way towards the still dazed Thomas. "Yo, buddy what the hell?"
Curiosity getting the better of me I followed suit scurrying forward to find out exactly what was going on.
"What the hell?" T
"Now what's the plan?" Travis asked eyeing the dead bodies that were piled in his living room.It hadn't taken long to pull all the dead rogues up to Travis' apartment and now we were all gathered inside trying to figure out what to do next since we couldn't just let them begin to rot within the building."Chop up again?" I suggested smirking. "Seems the only way to be rid of these guys.""Should have just left them there..." Travis grumped."Right, then find some DNA and get every one of us for murder." I sighed shaking my head. "Why the hell do they keep attacking like this?""No idea." Simon chirped. "Seems that any time you're around attacks happen master.""You saying this chick is the reason these rogues appeared?" Timothy mused. "They looking for mates now?"A growl erupted from Travis at Timothy's use of the word mate, shocking all of us."Shut the fuck up." He hissed now pulling me to him.
"Travis." I groaned as his mouth found my neck. "Simon and Timothy....""Don't you dare mention other men while with me." Travis growled as his canines elongated and grazed the very sensitive spot on my neck where his mark would eventually be.Clamping my mouth shut I tried to control the raggid breaths that were escaping me from Travis' actions. I could feel myself beginning to become aroused despite myself and knew if I didn't get out of this soon it was going to go south fast."Still denying the way you feel?" Travis husked biting down on my neck just below my mark spot. The action sent pleasant shivers running through me as his teeth applied just the right amount of pressure to give pleasure and not pain."Who is denying?" I whispered as his hand began to venture up my shirt. "I have nothing to deny.""Not honest." Travis laughed.I couldn't stop the moan that escaped me as his hand slid across the skin of my bac
I had just begun to drift when a hand gently shook me. Growling I swiped out trying to hit whoever it was that was bothering me only to have my wrist seized. "The hell?" I snapped opening one eye to see Travis' smirking face. "Let go." "If I do you gonna hit me?" He asked holding firm. "Who knows?" I responded yawning. Chuckling Travis released my wrist as I sat up and looked around the room I was in. It seemed that night had fallen and it was now time to dispose of the rogue bodies that were turning stiff in Travis' living room. After going at it like rabbits I had worn myself out and my body hurt all over, I was in no shape to be doing manual labor, but I knew that there was no getting out of it. "you getting up sleeping beauty?" Travis asked while standing. Yelping I took in his naked form before covering my eyes. "Put on some clothes!" "Are you seriously acting shy?" Travis asked glan
"Why were we called here?" Chris asked looking from Travis to Simon and Timothy. "I thought you said we had some rogues to dispose of."Chris and Ace arrived at Travis' apartment right after dark and both seemed to be on high alert. When they entered they immediately began to inspect the area looking for danger, when they came up empty they turned their attention to Travis."About that," Travis sighed, "There were rogues and then there weren't.""What are you talking about?" Ace asked frowning. "Did you take care of them without us?""Wish it was that simple." Travis responded. "This guy says they vanished."Everyone turned their eyes towards Simon who had remained silent in the corner examining the two men that had arrived to help."Disappeared?" Chris repeated the word looking confused. "How did they just disappear?"Seeming on edge Simon quickly turned his gaze to me as if asking for permission to spea
Letting another howl escape me I bolted forward as the hatred rushed into my mind once more. Growling I tried to push it away, making my way towards the outskirts of town where there wouldn't be as many people to see. Unfortunately a few had already spotted me, but I was trying my best to leave as little witnesses as possible. The closer I got to my destination the more I felt the hatred and the anger build within. With it came a clawing sensation at my concious, like something was trying its best to destroy my sanity.'No...' Chloe hissed coming to attention. 'Fight it.''Trying...' I panted wincing as the pain intensified and black spots began to form in my line of vision.I had managed to reach the outskirts and could see the forest line just ahead, all I needed to do now was get there before whatever was warring with me took full control.'Fight it Marissa.' Chloe growled as my ears began to ring. 'You've got to fi
It didn't take much time at all for Kim and Sarah to arrive, but what I hadn't expected was for Travis, Simon, and Thomas to be with them. Caught off guard I jumped up off the ground forgetting entirely that I was naked."What happened here?" Travis demanded immediately surging forward. "Why are you covered in blood, are you hurt anywhere?""I'm fine," I snapped craning to look around him. "But why is everyone here?""Funny story!" Simon said seeming not the slightest bit phased by my current state. "We were out looking for you, this guy was really worried after all." He quickly pointed to Travis, "and well I smelt this really delicious scent and then suddenly this angel appeared before me."Eyes wide I looked to Kim who was nodding along with Simon. "Yup, looks like this fella is my mate."Beside Kim, Sarah let out a low growl, clearly not happy with the fact her master had found her other half. Smiling sweetly
"So, you're telling us that you blacked out after changing?" Kim asked eyes sparkling with curiosity. I had just finished telling everyone exactly what happened between last night and when I contacted Kim. Everyone had remained quiet and listened intently, although the further that I explained the more their faces fell. From what I was getting it seemed that there was no good way to truly go about looking at this. "When is your twenty first birthday?" Travis asked eyeing me with a deep frown set on his face. "Two weeks." I responded feeling my heart clench. "What does that have to do with anything?" Travis' frown deepened. "Have you decided on a pack yet?" Flinching I let Travis' words hit me. Had I picked a pack? No, I hadn't picked a pack and I had no intentions of picking a pack. "No," I said slowly guaging everyone's reactions. "I don't intend to pick a pack." "Why?" Kim asked curio
Jumping up I looked around the familiar room. It looked like whatever that was just now was nothing more than a dream. Letting out a long breath I tried to calm my racing heart as my eyes adjusted to the dark around me. It seemed that night had fallen while I slept."Shit." I hissed running a hand over my sweat soaked face. "What the hell was that?"Unable to fully calm down I lifted my phone and hurriedly scrolled through numbers, only stopping once I found the one I wanted.Taking a deep breath I dialed and waited as the line began to ring."Hello?" The deep husky voice picked up after the third ring. "What's wrong?""I need you." I whispered as vulnerability overtook me completely. "Please come over.""Give me thirty minutes." He responded, before hanging up.Sitting my phone down, I pulled my knees to my chest. I couldn't quite put my finger on it, but something about that nightmare left m
Marissa's POV"Are you ready?" Travis asked, continuing to gaze into my eyes. "Just say the word, and I will tell them to forget it.""No..." I managed to squeak out as everyone began to move towards the stage to get a place to watch. "I won't go back on my word. Not anymore. "Even if I was fucking terrified, it didn't mean that I was going to leave Travis hanging like I always did in the past. I owed him this and so much more."I'm okay." I said more strongly. "Just some nervous butterflies.""Are you sure?" Travis continued to push, not se
"You look beautiful." Travis murmured, coming up behind me. "I almost don't want to share you with the world."Through the mirror in front of me, I caught Travis' eyes turning a dangerous shade of gold. It was clear that his mind was quickly heading to the gutter, and if this continued, we would never leave the room."Party and marking." I reminded him while wriggling free enough to turn and look into his eyes. "After that, you can do whatever you want to me.""Fine." Travis huffed in frustration. "I'm wishing we hadn't promised to do the marking in front of the world.""Too late for that." I whispered, snaking my ar
"How about this one?" Kim beamed, holding up a short red dress with a dipping neckline. This was probably the tenth or eleventh dress that she had shown to me. However, each one was way too revealing, and Kim wasn't accepting that I didn't want to show a ton of skin."Maybe something a bit more conservative." I tried, standing and heading towards the rack that she was rummaging through. While busying myself, I searched until I found a black lace dress with a dark blue underlay. The neckline was a v-neck, but it didn't dip anywhere near as much as the ones Kim was trying to force me into."How about this?" I said, pul
"Timothy and I grew up in a small village just on the outskirts of a small town called Washua." Thomas began keeping his voice neutral. "We were a small pack of wolves that specialized in raising the ultimate trackers."Just from those simple words, I could already understand where this story was going to go. No one liked trackers. They were looked down on in the wolf community, because they didn't take sides with anyone and provided their skills to the highest bidders."If memory serves me correctly, it happened late one winter night, right after my parents received a large sum of money to track down this big-shot alpha that was beginning to dwell in corrupt deeds."
After the meeting, Travis and I waited with Thomas as everyone left the room. For the most part, all involved were onboard with the mission to scout the areas that were marked on the maps, while Thomas and Travis personally worked towards tracking the dark mage. One thing that I found odd was that Travis didn't openly discuss in detail the plans for the tracking. From the way he spoke and his expression, I had a feeling that there was quite a bit he was hiding.Making mental note to ask him later, I tensed as Gregory and Davison made their way towards us."Uncle." Travis said stifflyas Davison narrowed his gaze on him. "Is there something you'd like to say that you couldn't say during
"Are you sure I should be present for this?" I asked Travis as we stopped in front of the door of the meeting room."You're my future Luna; of course you should." Travis assured me, kissing the top of my head. "Now come on, we've made them wait long enough.""Right."Sucking in a deep breath, I waited as Travis opened the door that was separating us from the rest of Travis' pack higher ups.Squaring my shoulders, I walked in and waited, taking in all the gazes that instantly fell on me. Though I fully expected hostility from Travis' beta Chris, I didn't expect it from almost everyone sitting at the table, aside from
Too bright of sun disturbed my dreamless sleep, drawing me to reality where my entire body was aching.Wincing, I opened my eyes and glared at the damned sun. I wanted to sleep a little longer, but the damn thing decided that it wasn't in the cards.Grumbling to myself, I turned over to find Travis still fast asleep."Lazy." I mumbled, lifting a hand and poking the tip of his nose, earning myself a low growl.Reaching out, Travis wrapped his arms around me, pulling me close against him as he nuzzled my neck, nipping it lightly.Shiverin
Lifting a hand, I wiped steam away from the mirror in front of me so that I could see my reflection. The woman staring back at me wasn't the girl that I remembered before my life turned totally upside down from meeting Travis. Her blue eyes stared back into mine with less hatred, and her features were softer. She seemed more open and more friendly. Nothing like the Marissa I'd been only three weeks before.Letting out a breath, I tossed my hair behind my shoulder and tilted my head to the side so I could see my neck better. Fixing my eyes on my mark spot, I couldn't help but wonder what Travis' mark would look like there.Immediately, I could feel a tingle between my thighs just from the tho
From behind me, I could feel the shock roll through Travis. It was clear that he didn't expect me to say those words and from the tension I could feel building within him, I knew that I was going to get jumped once we were alone.I didn't know where that came from or why I actually didn't feel opposed to it at all anymore, but I would figure that out later. For now I needed to appease my parents."Are both of you telling the truth?" My father asked remaining unconvinced. "I don't want to hear spouted bullshit.""Do you think I would joke about something like this?" I asked, my annoyance beginning to rise. "Me of all people."
