POV Omega Gavin Walking to the far West boarder I came to the hollowed out tree. Removing the bag that I had hidden there. I removed my contacts and placed them in their case. Stripping off my close I placed them in the bag before stuffing it back into the tree trunk. I needed to run, I couldn’t stop the distain from building up. It had been five years since I heard anything from the King. After warning them of Alpha Eric and Beta Darien’s hastiness to speak with Alpha Dante. Then Raymond’s failed attempt at apprehending the girl when I released him from the jail I waited for the new plan. How was I supposed to know that Miss Evens would risk exposing herself to save that girl. I had wondered if she was another of the Kings spies sent here to make sure I did my job. There is no doubt now that she is not an ally to the King. I returned to the mansion to find it empty. Everything gone. The King has forsaken me, I have been abandoned. It isn’t my fault Raymond was incapable of
POV Thea Jason pulled around the corner of my street, stopping in front of my house to let me out. Candice came out in her hot pink scrubs, taking one look at the car. “Again.” She said with a heavy sigh. “Ya, I told him I would help him sand it down this weekend.” I told her. She wrapped her arms around me smashing me up against her. “This isn’t your fault sweetie.” She tried to reassure me. I waved as Jason and Amira took off. “It’s not, not my fault. If they didn’t hang out with me this wouldn’t happen.” Giving me a quick kiss on the cheek she turned to get in her car. “Who wouldn’t want to hang out with you? Maybe next time you can take my car. I’ve always wanted a hit pink Jeep.” She called back to me before climbing in her rig and leaving. “What do you want to do?” I asked Selova. “Pizza and a movie with Amira and Jason.” She suggested. “We just saw them like five seconds ago.” “A run maybe?” She asked with hope in her voice. “How can you have all this energy. W
POV Aiden Thomas found the girls easily and sent them home. It was no secret that there was no love lost between Omega Gavin and I but I did not wish him dead. The permanent lose of the ability to speak would have done just fine. I arrived thirty minutes or so after Thomas. Omega Gavin’s body had been visibly dragged from the spot the girls saw him by the tree earlier back into the creek. Whoever moved him did not bother to cover that fact. Rolling him on his back his heart had been ripping from his chest. From the lack of blood on the trail he was knocked out first and moved here before he was killed. Thomas crouched over the body. “We sure he’s dead. He was a heartless bastered before so I don’t think this should stop him.” “Show some respect.” I snapped at him. Thomas looked back at me with a stagnant expression. Omega Gavin would be missed by very few but he was still a member of this pack. “Wrap him up and get his remains to the morgue. I’ll go let his mate know.”
POV Aiden We transferred Paula to the clinic I had called in Miss Evens for any ideas on what could be happening to her. She arrived within the hour as expected carrying at least a dozen books. Elijah, Miss Evens and I all sat around the table in the break room. “Start at the beginning.” Miss Evens said pulling out a pen and a notebook. “Thea and Amira went swimming at the pond at the end of the creek. They noticed the blood in the water and followed it to find Gavin’s body. When Thea contacted me saying he was dead I didn’t believe her at first. Neither the Luna or I felt anything from him out of the ordinary. Not that I make an effort to feel for him.” I said rolling my eyes. Miss Evens jotted down her notes before chewing on her pen. “You said you think Gavin was moved to the creek before he was killed?” She asked. “I couldn’t be sure but there was no blood trail. Distinct drag marks ran from the tree to the creek but there were no signs of blood. Splatter on the bank l
POV Aiden Paula was still groggy from sedation but we hoped she could help us figure out what was going on between her and her wolf. Miss Evens and I sat in chairs next to her trying not to scare her anymore that she was. “Paula, can you hear me?” I asked. “Where am I?” She asked. “We moved you to the clinic and sedated your wolf. There’s some concern that Gavin’s death has effected her.” I told her. “Who is this Gavin you keep mentioning is dead. I don’t know anyone by that name.” She replied. Miss Evens and I looked at each other. My concern growing about her mental state. “How about we try this a different way.” Miss Evens said. “Why don’t you tell us about yourself and we will see if we can piece together what’s going on from there.” “Ok.” She said calming down a little. “My name is Paula Lawrence. I’m a member of the Black Moon pack.” Miss Evens and I looked at each other with raised eyebrows. “My husband David and I have three children, Emma, Brandon and Emery
POV Thea The pack buzzed excitedly at the arrival of Paula’s family. Strange to think how open everyone was to the idea that she had a whole other life outside of Omega Gavin. Amira and I got tasked with arranging the grandchildren’s rooms. We jumped at the opportunity to get out of the pack house. The Alpha and Luna have been a little over bearing. I know losing Eric has made them overly cautious but the mere fact that Omega Gavin died near us doesn’t necessarily put us at risk. Candice and Brent made the decision to quickly for me. They didn’t even think about letting me stay home. Now Amira and I are basically on lock down. We can’t leave the house even to go to school without warriors with us. Amira likes to pretend we are royalty who needs guards to protect us. Leaving it to her to find a way to make it fun. It wasn’t much but Alpha Aiden wanted to put them up in a few empty houses down the road from the pack house. Overall it would be small for as many people as were
POV Joann Thomas pushed a connection with Aiden and I. “You’re going to want to see this.” He said before cutting the connection. A few minutes later we could hear Thomas pull up. Aiden and I waited in the kitchen, Thomas was never really one for surprises so we weren’t sure what to expect. The caravan of Black Moon pack should arrive any time now. I was hopeful that he had finally found his mate, he is so dedicated and devoted to this pack. He deserves to find his own happiness. With Paula’s family coming we had wanted to set up a dinner or casual party in case any of them or the warriors escorting them had mates here. Hopefully as Paula got better we could arrange something but as of now it would be in poor taste. The front door opened and I could hear Thomas tell someone we were in the kitchen. A deep gravely voice replied. “I know the way.” Aiden and I looked at each other before a massive figure appeared in the doorway. He had to crouch down to avoid hitting his head
POV Thea Walking into the pack house the smell hit me first. Luna’s amazing cooking filled the house with delicious smells but that wasn’t what had my mouth watering. Coming around the corner first I saw Luna Joann but the man behind her made my heart stop. Time froze the second I heard him growl “Mate.” Amira snapping me back to reality when she elbowed me making a clicking noise as she popped her tongue off the roof of her mouth. “Nice!” Is all she said. “Do you wake up thinking of ways to embarrass me?” I asked. My face turning red. “Most days but this one just fell in my lap.” She beamed as she grabbed the bags I had dropped. He went to move towards me but the Luna stopped him with her palm against his chest. Her hand looked like a child’s against his brood chest. “Eric wait, she’s not yet 18. She can’t know you’re her mate yet.” Joann said sternly. Eric growled loudly before looking down at Luna Joann. “I understand mother.” “Eric?” Selova. “I told you he was rea
POV Juxes We combed through the bunker like robbers looking for valuables. Grabbing one book and skimming through it before tossing it aside and grabbing the next. The pile of books growing by the minute. Candice stopping as she was walking in. “Miss Evens would be so pissed. She’s going to haunt us all for this mess.” She giggled. “Her ghost will just have to wait and maybe she would understand. She did always have a soft spot for Eric and Thea.” Nicolas said with a shrug. “Do you think she knew they were mates?” Thomas asked. “It’s doubtful.” I grumbled, waving my hand at them implying they need to get back at it. Thomas still walking around with a piece of jerky hanging out of his mouth. I swear he’s eaten half his body weight by now. Was taking small vials off one of the book cases and smelling each one, then reading the label. His hand bumped a small glass vial with a glass cork holding in its contents. As the black tar like substance oozed out of the jar, Thomas threw
POV Eric Braxton slammed forward taking control in an instant. His large hands almost crushing the vial before dropping it onto the bed. Eyes scanning the room as he in hailed deeply. His nose scrunching with each large sniff. Thea’s scent still lingered heavily throughout the room, he rolled his shoulders popping the vertebrae between his shoulder blades as the scent of vampire blood burned his nostrils. Turning his head to the side and scrunching his face as a small whiff of something almost Krissy but not quite came through. Only realizing now that I had caught the scent in the courtyard. I remembered the huddle of Lycans there. I reminded him to pick up the vial before leaving the room. “No!” He said plainly, turning to leave. “Must I remind you, the King will cut off parts of us we are fairly attached to should it be misplaced.” I told him. “I won’t give it to her.” He growled. “I’m not saying we do, I’m just saying we can’t leave it here.” I pleaded. With a gr
POV Thea Eyes closed, my limbs feeling heavy. The sound of a child’s laughter came to me in the distance. Like a tv had been left on in another room, I could hear it but couldn’t quite make out the words. A sharp scent hit my nose making me gag and my eyes jolt open. Krissy sat on my chest making it hard to breathe. Her face inches from mine. Her black eyes swirling with hints of every color. “You can’t sleep now.” She whispered. A low growl rumbled in her chest as she spoke. Her voice not quite her own. Moving my head back I tried to move far enough away for my eyes to focus. I could hear the sound of one of her claws elongating before cutting into the skin on my collar bone. “Ow, what the fuck Krissy.” I hissed bringing my hand up to check the bleeding. She leaned back putting her full weight on my stomach. Raising her hand to her mouth she licked the blood from her nail. A mischievous crooked grin slowly forming on her face. Watching in amazement as her swirling black
POV Eric Nervously leading Thea into my quarters, I placed the books down on my small table. I would show her around but there wasn’t much to see. A king sized bed with a small metal frame, an oversized chair and a reading nook by the window made up the entirety of my world here. She yawned heavily, the sedative I had put in her food beginning to take effect. “It doesn’t look like much but it’s very comfortable.” I told her, patting the bed. She was hesitant at first I moved away from the bed giving her some space. She yawned again. “I don’t know why I’m so tired all of a sudden.” She said sleepily. As she yawned the third time I knew she was fighting sleep, no doubt uneasy with being in my room. I needed her out and soon, Francis was pushing hard to get the serum in her. I understood once she had her powers it would be harder to make her stay but I wanted so badly to not have to make her. Why Francis was so insistent she take it was beyond me. She’s the Lunar wolf, a perfect b
POV Juxes The lights clicked on eliminating the bunker. The layout was interesting but not surprising, taking on the appearance of mansion style formal sitting room. The entrance had been hidden from us but Miss Evens had obviously spent a large portion of her time here. Not a speck of dust could be found and everything was neatly in its place. The only thing not where it belongs was a blueprint laying across one of the chairs. The corner had an address, totaling 10 pages spanning 200 years. It was the same building but each page illustrated a addition of some sort. We spread out looking for anything useful. I tried making sense of the blueprints but couldn’t understand most of it. For the first time I reached out for Aiden, he knew more about this than I did and I now regretted not paying attention when he had plans drawn up for the ski lodge. Nicolas found his way to one of the many bookcases. Running his hands over the rows he shuttered. “Are all these books made of skin?”
POV Thea The first book he handed me looked very old, the pages were mismatched and you could tell it had been repaired in one way or another several times. “This is Francis’s journal, he wrote down everything he remembers happening. He started right after he built the main building here. To keep record of what happened before. It only seemed right considering Alabaster had begun writing his own version of how it all started.” He said with a sort. “Was he there?” I asked. “Alabaster? No, he was human. Joan’s mate and when they took off, him and Joan started making up their own version of the beginning.” Eric said. Flipping through the pages he found what he was looking for and stopped. Tapping his finger on the page. “We were told that Abigail refused the spirits deal. That she wouldn’t sacrifice a child to have one of her own.” “Her husband did.” I stated. “No! She wouldn’t sacrifice a child from her tribe. She made a deal with Francis, one of his tribes children and in r
POV Juxes “What were you up to Miss Evens?” I asked aloud as I stood in front of the vault door. There is no key hole or handle to be seen. The engraving depicts a Lycan facing a girl. The girl was holding a dagger behind her back. There is an impression in the door. Running my hand over the indentation, this part of the door was meticulously cleaned. “Did you know this was here?” Asked Thomas. “No. In all my years as Alpha I didn’t think there was an inch of the territory Alex or I hadn’t covered, yet here we are.” Moving some of the grass from beside the door to have a better look, so far it appeared the door and walls were metal. Nicolas climbed on the small mound that covered the roof and dug down until he hit metal as well. “This is one big ass metal box.” He announced. “You’re telling me Miss Evens snuck a giant metal box onto the territory and buried it out here and no one noticed.” Thomas said sarcastically. “I doubt she snuck it in.” I told him. “Look at the area ar
POV Thea The kitchen was buzzing with people, they were oblivious to us until Eric swung the door open. They all quickly shuffled into a line behind the island in the center of the room. A few were noticeably shaking when he drew nearer. “All of the staff are werewolves. These are all Omegas or rogues, unfit for the change.” Eric said proudly. I couldn’t hide my disgust. “Why would you say they are unfit? Are you saying they aren’t worth going through your big transformation because of their pack status?” I almost spat the words at him. “On the contrary, we have found only those with Alpha or Beta genes can survive. We spared them a painful death and found them a place here among us. I thought that would please you?” His brow furrowed. Taking in a deep breath, I tried to compose myself. By all accounts Lycans killed any werewolf they came across. Seeing a full staff of them was a surprise. “What about the girls?” I asked. Now wondering why those three had been separated from
POV Thea Eric told me about how he was kidnapped and woke up in my glass cell. Zoe gave him the serum while he was still to weak to fight them. I noticed he skipped over any details about the change and went on to tell me about getting released and meeting everyone here. As he recalled the events I also noticed he showed no fear of what happened. “Once Francis knew he could trust me I was free to roam the grounds. Just like I did, you will see. This is where you belong. For five hundred years they have waited for your return. There is no where safer on earth for you.” Eric told me. “No place creepier either.” Sel said sarcastically in my head. “I can understand why you would choose them.” I told her. “What do you mean?” She asked. “Francis said you chose the Lycans last time you were here. Being the Lunar wolf is heavy. Carrying all of that power and responsibility is a lot for one person. The Lycans have waited for us for five hundred years. I almost feel obligated to the
