“How did it get here?”

“Nailed to a tree outside the territory.”

She clicked her tongue. “When?”

I glanced outside. “I don’t know…I’ve been holed up in here.”

Sighing, she put her hands on the sides of my face and pulled me down. Our foreheads touched and my eyes closed.

“Don’t make the same mistake Father did.”

I growled loudly. “I’m not letting those bastards get…”

“Silas.” She cut me off, voice harsh. “I don’t mean that. I mean, thinking you can take this on alone. You’re not alone.”

My eyes opened and she was staring into my own, seeing the anger she also had. The fire that I had been feeling in my own soul but hers smoldered instead of exploded. It didn’t come out in a blind rage. Sighing, I shook my head.

“I know. I just…”

“You obviously don’t know. Three days, Sil. You’ve been holed up here three days. Haven’t spoken to anyone, haven’t reached out. Even if you didn’t want to speak to your pack about it, you have me. Not just your sister or some rogue, but it’s my duty as First

*** Solaris POV ***I had had a rough few days that I didn’t know if I would even have a good day left in me. There wasn’t even the strength to hold up my body on my right leg, let alone put weight on my left leg. Yesterday, I felt better to walk around the house. Now, I was sitting at a local diner waiting. I ordered a coffee and was pouring the cream into it when Charles walked in.He looked around, caught my smile and headed over. He slid into the seat across from me.“How are you doing? Silas said you were having a time after…”I smiled. “Better. Though, I don’t think I’ll have many more of these days.”He smiled at me sadly. “I guess we should enjoy it then!”His optimism made me smile even wider and I nodded. “We are waiting on one more person.”“Another person? Is this the reason why you wanted to meet me?”I nodded.

“Differences?”I nodded to Sam. “Someone who has become an Omega is different than someone who is like Noah and Finn.”Sam opened his mouth but I put my hand up.“I’ll explain. A changed Omega will test as an Omega and their mannerisms and even hormones will adjust before even meeting their mate. However, no bodily changes will occur until your mate marks you.”Charles raised his hand and I raised my eyebrow at him.“This isn’t a classroom, you don’t have to raise your hand.”“It’s a non-related but related to marking.”I cocked my head to the side.“Can a human mark a werewolf?”I broke out in a grin. “Yes, a human can mark a werewolf. It’s the same way a werewolf would mark a human. A bite. You just have to bite a little harder.”Sam chuckled and Charles just nodded.“Now, back to what I

Taking a deep breath, I looked around the diner. I was right in saying not a single person was paying attention to us. There were some teenage wolves in the far corner ditching there morning classes. I wondered if they were a part of Silas’ pack. I caught eyes with the waitress and she ambled over.“Anything else I can get you?”I smiled at her. “Can I get a top off on the coffee and the check?”She nodded and looked at the boys. They shook their head but Charles raised his eyebrow at me. “Didn’t Noah and Finn ban you from having coffee?”“You know Noah and Finn are my Betas right?”Sam chuckled and shook his head. “They are only doing it out of love and concern for you.”“Yeah well, if I’m going to die, I’m going to die happy with a fucking cup of coffee in my hand.” I glared at Sam as the waitress put the check on the table. “Preferably Ir

*** Silas POV *** I stared down at my desk, not reading the words on the page in front of me. Turning around, I looked out the window of my office. There was so much going on right now, it was hard to concentrate.‘You should call Aelia. See if you can talk to her.’I sighed. ‘Noah and Finn won’t let her. They blame me for her getting that bad. Which, partially, was my fault. I should have just taken her home knowing she used her power.’Eros quieted and I rubbed my face. It had been four days and still she wasn’t doing well. While Noah was beyond angry with me, Finn at least would text me with updates of her condition. Neither of them allowed me to speak to her but at least I had something. Then there was Nate. He had holed himself in his room this entire time. I had Meredith refuse to give him food unless he came out. He stopped eating all together. I tried to coax him out of the room with some of his favorite things but he refused. Nate wouldn’t talk to anyone, look at anyone. It

We pulled up to a house at around seven in the evening. Everyone piled out and I narrowed my eyes. The house seemed familiar but I couldn’t quite place it. Nate also seemed to have the same face as I did while Aelia, Noah, and Finn grabbed their gear. The door opened and a woman stepped onto the porch. My mouth fell open.“Aunt…Aunt Maggie?” Nate stammered next to me.She laughed. “Of course. Who else would it be? The Boogie Man? Come inside. Dinner is ready.”“Oh thank Goddess. Maggie, these people are trying to starve me.” Finn walked up and kissed her on the cheek.Noah grumbled. “Yeah, until he eats his way through the entire gingerbread house and the witch.” He leaned down and kissed her cheek. “Maggie, you look radiant as ever.”Aelia came up the stairs next but I saw there was more of a serious limp in her walk. Maggie reached out and hugged her.“I’m so glad you could make it out again, Aelia. Thank you for bringing these two too. I owe you.”She shook her head. “I owe you, yo

“I think we have been navigating those waters pretty terribly.” I answered and Aelia chuckled, the light coming back in her eyes.“Well, it’s not really something you can prepare for. I’m just glad you took my advice dear.” Maggie reached out and took Aelia’s free hand in hers.I reached out and took a drink of the wine glass I had left on the table. “When she first told me, I didn’t want to believe her. She did say you were the one to push her to tell us. Thank you for that. It’s not easy but I don’t know what I would have done if I found out she never told us.” Glaring at Aelia, she stuck her tongue out at me.Nate squeezed her hand. “He’s right. We might have brought you back only to kill you ourselves.”She shrugged. “Good luck with that. I fully intend on enjoying my afterlife, thank you very much. All the coffee and whisky I can have. It’s been over a week since I’ve had coffee. That’s its own torture.”Laughing, I shook my head. “The acid…”“Goddess, shut up! I don’t care! Let

I woke with a start when someone in the house screamed. Jumping up, I opened the door, greeted by Maggie who was pulling on a robe across from me. Her peppered grey hair in a long braid down the side. Nate had also poked his head out of the door down the hall. Walking to the only other occupied bedroom, I opened the door.My heart sunk immediately. Noah was standing against the back wall, completely frozen. Finn was on the bed, leaning over Aelia, doing compressions on her chest. I couldn’t see it, but I smelled blood. Nate started to walk in but I grabbed him, pulling his back to my chest as I wrapped my arms around him. His eyes finally took in what was happening, but my arms caged him in from being able to move or shift. His fur was beginning to sprout but Nate was shaking as the sobs started.Finn was crying, trying to do the chest compressions but he was struggling. “Noah!”Noah finally moved from where it looked like he had stumbled back. He was leaning over the side of the bed

*** Solaris POV *** I felt bad. The lightheartedness that we had when we walked into Maggies was sucked out of the air when I nearly died. Or I did die, as Noah continued to angrily remind me. Finn wouldn’t let me out of his eyesight, even for a moment. Which even included me going to the restroom until I finally slammed the door in his face. Nate seemed like a lost puppy, not knowing what to do or how to help. Silas was probably the most stable out of the four of them. He was a pillar and I relied on him more than the other three. It was nice to have someone mentally stable enough to continue as normal as he could.Maggie was as sweet as ever, also being a pillar of strength but I knew this time I’d finally broken through her thick skin. Her kids came over with all their grandkids and I was able to ignore the guys for a night which was fun. I was attacked by Giana and Ben as well as Christian and Evie. It was a giant cuddle pile that ended with me leaning against Huey and the rest o

This is it. This is the end of Solaris' Reign and her story. I hope you all enjoyed and I'm so thankful for all of you who have stuck by over...really...these past twelve months. It's been crazy from illness, to being in the hospital, to having a baby, to still being really sick and him being sick. Then my daughter starting school. It has been a ride. Now having two kids, working through they very different personalities and being in a very different place from when we had her to where my husband and I are now. I'm lucky enough right now to do what I love. Writing is a passion for me. It's a love every since I was in middle school and I did go to college for creative writing as well. Does that make writing easier? Absolutely not. Does it make me faster? Absolutely not. But it does help me to craft better stories. One thing though is that I will NEVER abandon a book. I may take my time, I may rewrite or fix, but I will never abandon. I love writing and sometimes I wish I could just

I hopped the ledge as I saw Nate struggling to set her down. Coming up next to him, I got my hands under his arms to help with the weight. Noah came on the other side and all three of us lifted her onto the wood structure. Finn came up behind us and stepped up, taking the a small stone and pressing it to the white silk. It must have been infused with some type of magic because the white silk faded. It happened so quickly I didn’t have time to prepare. My body started to shake and I reached out, grabbing the closest thing for stability which happened to be Nate’s shoulder. They had dressed her in her uniform. It was a far cry from the bloodied and mud-caked version that I carried back to the tent. Her face looked peaceful, and even though you could see how thin she had gotten, there wasn’t the immense dark circles. She didn’t look sick. With the eyelids down, I wondered if they left her eye in. Her leg and arm were missing but I knew what originally was holding that together was her.

Tucking in my shirt, I took a couple of deep breaths. I hadn’t really slept last night. My mind and heart being pulled very which way. It was frustrating and exhausting. Today though, all I needed to do was to show up. Grabbing my watch off my dresser, I was securing the clasp on my wrist when the door to my bedroom opened.“Alpha, are you almost ready?”“Yeah, one second, Sam.”Turning, I started to walk towards him but he stared at me, looking me up and down. “Alpha…are you…not going to wear a tie?”I smirked. “Are you seriously criticizing how I’m dressed?” For the second time in two days, my jokes didn’t land.Sam frowned and furrowed his brow. “You look like you’re going into the office to work. You can’t…”Charles put his hand on Sam’s shoulder and pulled him back. “Why don’t you go get Nate? We will meet you down at pools.”Sam looked up at his mate and nodded, disappearing down the hall. Charles walked into the room and my eyes narrowed. We hadn’t spoken since he slammed the d

I didn’t even bother to pretend like I was working. Sam hadn’t given me any work anyways. The whole pack seemed at a standstill. Either they had come to know Aelia as the plucky fun bartender who they liked or, like my warriors, learned just how much of a badass she was. Was. Past tense. My sister was gone, again. Again she slipped through my fingers. Again she protected us. Again she gave everything up for us. But this time, there was no room for hope. She was gone for good this time. Again I couldn’t save her.The Alpha King had been called and was already marching out here to provide her with a proper funeral. Finn just about lost it when the Alpha King tried to take her body back to the castle. Finn was right though. She came here for a reason and stayed here for a reason. My lips thinned. She stayed here for us. We were the reason and now her soul would be given to the Moon Goddess from her favorite place. The place that I had originally found out that she was my sister. My messa

*** Silas POV ***Her breathing stopped. Aelia’s body fell slack in the lap of Finn, her head falling to one side. Finn screamed as Noah held onto him for dear life. Tears streamed down my face as I stared at what was my sister. Nate was curled up into a ball, wailing as he held her hand to his chest. My heart felt like it had been torn from my chest. A silver bullet straight into my heart. It hurt to breath, hurt to be alive. Eros howled within me, crying as only he knew how.She was within my grasp. I finally had her. There were so many more things I needed to tell her, wanted to tell her and that I wanted to ask her. Force her to spill all her secrets that she held from us. Ask her advice on moving forward and how I was supposed to handle the pack. Now, she was gone. My baby sister was gone. When my father said she died, I was angry. That anger drove me and helped me move forward. It’s what I lived on and thrived on. Seeing Aelia again, watching her smile, watching her be happy and

My sword swiftly beheaded a Hunter before plunging into heart of the one next to him. One of my swords had broken and been lost a long time ago. Looking around, it was still raining. It hadn’t even let up once. Bodies littered the ground. We had made headway, pushing the Hunters back and now we just piled them up one after another. My breath showed in the storm and it had dropped even colder from when we started a couple hours ago.Another Hunter attacked me but I nimbly turned, easily using my strength to remove his upper half from the lower half. His body fell in two as his blood sprayed all over me. My eyes still glowed, I still held onto the power as it was the only thing holding me up. The moment I let go was the moment I would leave this world. The magic in my arms, legs, and eye were even crackling under my power.I was able to see every Hunter and their aura within the area. The rain wouldn’t help my real eye but it didn’t hinder my magic one. Most of my boys had stayed in for

It started to pour sometime in the evening and only got worse as it dawned on the third day. I sat in my chair my fingers laced together, my chin resting on them. My eyes glazed over as I stared nothing, listening to the rain hit the top of my tent. Three days I hadn’t slept. I’d filled my time with everything but sleeping. Battle plans, final checks of troops, Silas’ territory terrain, the endless trails of goodbyes from my warriors. Nate had come at the behest of a few of my warriors. They were worried when I started mulling about the tents looking like the grim reaper was holding me up. He came in, didn’t say a thing as he picked me up and deposited me back into my chair inside my tent. Staying with me for a couple hours, we spoke about everything and nothing. We talked about the old house that we dreamed as kids. I shook my head as Nate tried to remember the color schemes of all the bedrooms. For a while, it was a break from the current and impending situation. Eventually though,

Nate’s arms moved and I had expected Silas to pick me up. But instead, the soothing electricity coursed through me as Nate pulled me close to his chest and stood. His body was shaking slightly but after a couple steps, it was far sturdier. “Where to Aelia?”I swallowed, trying to wet my dry mouth. “They should have set up the Alpha Prince tent for me.”“Aelia! Just come home!” Silas was standing but it was Keri, who moved from behind the tree she had been leaning against, that spoke. She put a hand on Silas’ shoulder. “She belongs there, Alpha. She belongs with her men. With her family.”Silas’ shoulders dropped and he moved out of the way. Nate started to walk, not saying anything. We wove our way through the trees and at one point I closed my eyes, leaning my head against mate.As much as my life has turned out like this, I couldn’t image if that hadn’t happened. If the Hunters had never come. When I was four, I knew Nate was my fated mate but I also saw the golden braid connecting

My legs were crossed as I sat in my chair that looked more like a throne with how we were set up. I had my hands intertwined in my lap and my back was straight. Keri said I had to choose what I needed to do but I worried about hurting them still. I loved Noah and Finn. They were my best friends, my partners, my Betas and my lovers. We had gone through so much together and hurting them was never my intention no matter how much it seemed like my actions did.Keri was on my right, Nate and Silas were standing to my left. Behind me, Colton and Dylan were standing to step in front of me. Some of my warriors who weren’t actively engaged in planning, or dealing with other orders, were standing to attention in the clearing. All armed and ready.I looked up at Keri. “Whatever you do, don’t hurt Finn.”“If he comes after you, Alpha, I’m going to put him in his place. I will avoid all vitals and his pup but a broken arm won’t hurt anything but him. Noah is free game.” She almost looked gleeful.
