Chapter 50

Reagan POV

The pounding in my head was relentless, every throb echoing through my skull as I slowly drifted back into consciousness. My eyelids fluttered open, blurry vision adjusting to the dim room. Where the hell was I? I tried to move, but my limbs felt like lead, heavy and sluggish, as if weighed down by invisible shackles.

And then I heard it—footsteps. Slow, deliberate.

I blinked, struggling to focus, and when I saw him, rage flared up inside me like a wildfire. Carlos. His smug grin made my blood boil.

“How does it feel to be betrayed by the woman you love?” His voice dripped with satisfaction, each word taunting me.

I growled, fury coursing through my veins. “Get me out of this,” I spat, trying to lunge at him. But the heavy chains around my wrists held me back, clanking as they pulled me down.
