Guienvere's POV

My blood boiled as I stormed out of the cell. How dare Reagan lock up Hayden? So what if he broke his order—could anyone really blame him? Reagan had pretended to be him on his wedding day and, if that wasn't enough, had stolen his title as the true Alpha. Hayden had every right to demand answers.

I marched up to Reagan's study room, but one of the Shadow Fang pack members blocked my path.

"I'm sorry, Luna Gwen, but you can't go in," he said firmly.

"What do you mean I can't go in?" I demanded, struggling to suppress the fury bubbling inside me. There was no need to transfer aggression to this guard.

"Alpha Reagan specifically requested that no one come in."

I scoffed, narrowing my eyes at the man. "I don't care what he told you, but as your Luna, I kindly request you let me in, or else what happens next is on you."

The man hesitated, his resolve wavering under my intense glare. For a moment, I thought he would stand his ground, but then he quietly stepped aside.

A smile tugged at the corners of his lips, making his blue eyes sparkle. “Could you turn?” I asked, trying to maintain some semblance of dignity. Reagan chuckled softly, his amusement evident in the light crinkle of his eyes and the way his lips curved upward. “Wait, you’re serious?” “Yes, I’m serious,” I snapped, my voice tight with frustration. Ignoring his teasing, I swiftly undressed, my movements brisk as I tried to avoid any lingering glances. As I slid into the water, the cool sensation contrasted sharply with the warmth of my skin. I had tried—tried to pull away, tried to sever the connection we once shared, hoping that the space between us would help my feelings die. But it was futile. Wherever I was, her presence haunted me. I ached to hold her, to pull her close, to feel her soft lips on mine.Every time I saw her in the hallway, the regret in her eyes was unmistakable. She was sorry, that much was clear. The way she offered small smiles, her little efforts to say "hi" in passing—it all spoke of her remorse. But no matter how much I wanted to close the gap, I couldn’t. Not because of the betrayal, but because of something far more dangerous.I sighed, pulling my shirt down to reveal the mark on my chest. The cursed mark. Reagan's POV We circled each other like predators in a deadly dance—myself, Otis, and Carlos—each of us tense, eyes locked in a silent battle of wills. Carlos glanced at me, then flicked his gaze to Otis, his lips curling into a smug grin."Well, this seems a little unfair, don’t you think? Two against one? I’d say that’s cheating," he sneered, his voice dripping with mockery.I smirked, enjoying the way his anger simmered beneath the surface. "If you’re such a coward," I began, my tone casual but cutting, "then just ask." I glanced over at Otis and gave a sharp nod. "Stand down."Otis hesitated, his eyes widening in disbelief. "Reagan, you can’t be serious—"I cut him off, my voice firm and unyielding. "You don’t intervene. Even if Carlos is slitting my throat, you don’t move." My words barely left my lips when Carlos lunged forward, his fist connecting with my jaw in a brutal blow that sent me crashing into the wall.I groaned as I pulled myself up from the ground.
