Finally! The bossy b-tch is gone... Once those killers do their job.. I'll finally be the CEO of AMTEX... Man! Why didn't I think of this sooner? It would have been more easier if we had married each other, taking over this company would have been a breeze... 

I waited for some hours to contact the killers, By then the driver would have already driven Julia far outside Lagos out in the middle of endless trees and fields... Out there nobody would interfere and nobody would see what's going on.. Killing that b-tch would be so easy and once the smoke clears, I'll be the one sitting in the CEO's chair.. 

Hours later, I met with some of the BOD with whom I conspired to get rid of Julia,.. We met in an empty meeting room to discuss about our plan.

Marcus ➡ Isn't yet time to give the killers the green light? 

. 

BOD 1 ➡ Hold on Marcus...  

. 

Marcus ➡ We have to get rid of her now. What if they reach to a military checkpoint.. It's now or never. 

. 

BOD 2 ➡ Alright.. Just take things easy... After all we've already given them the go ahead. 

. 

Before we knew what was happening, We were interrupted by Gina's entry... We all stood looking at each other like strangers. 

. 

Gina ➡ Sorry.. I didn't mean to interrupt.. Marcus there are some files you need to check. 

. 

Marcus ➡ Will you get out?? Can't you see I'm occupied here?.. Can't you knock? 

. 

Gina ➡ I'm sorry.. I didn't mean to interrupt... 

. 

Marcus ➡ Sorry for yourself.. Cow. 

. 

Gina gave me a scornful look before going out of the room, we're so all felt relieved as she left, I just hope she didn't hear what we were discussing. After that we called the assassins in order to know what was going on... After some seconds, our call was answered, I swiped the phone from their hands to order to confirm it with my own ears that Julia is dead..

Marcus ➡ Hello! Is she dead? 

. 

Assassin ➡ (signal jamming) Pzzt, Pzzt.. 

. 

Marcus ➡ Hello.. Is the target dead? Have you killed her? 

. 

I was happily waiting for an answer but instead of a yes or no, I got a shock of my life... Someone replied but I was sure it wasn't the assassins. 

. 

Stranger ➡ Hello.. Who's this?.. 

. 

Marcus ➡.............. 

. 

Stranger ➡ Hello.. 

. 

I kept quiet after that and ended the call... I felt weak all over trying to figure out what was going on.. Who was the person on the other side of the phone? I'm sure it wasn't the assassins cause, they would have known we were the ones calling them.. Both the BODs looked at me wondering what was happening.

BOD 1 ➡ What's going on Marcus? 

. 

BOD 2 ➡ Has she been eliminated? 

. 

Marcus ➡ It's complicated... The job hasn't been.. 

. 

Before I could finish, the phone rang again, I didn't want to answer it but I decided to hear what was going on.. If it isn't the assassins, I will burn this phone to ashes and forget this ever happened. So after some seconds, I answered the call. 

. 

Assassin ➡ Hello.. Sorry for what happened earlier... The target has escaped. 

. 

Marcus ➡ What?? How? 

. 

Assassin ➡ The driver she got was a good one,.. He spoiled everything. (coughs) 

. 

Marcus ➡ Are you alright? And why does your voice sound so hoarse? 

. 

Assassin ➡ Sorry.. We were involved in a car accident... 

. 

Marcus ➡ Can you trace them? 

. 

Assassin ➡ I'm not sure.. But I think they're heading to Abuja. 

. 

Marcus ➡ On foot?? Don't be ridiculous. 

. 

Assassin ➡ It's possible.. After all, they might get a lift... Even if they get on foot, I believe it would take them.. Let's say about three to fours days... 

. 

Marcus ➡ This is bad.... This is bad.. 

. 

Assassin ➡ Well, you'll have to get to Abuja and meet her there.. We can finish the job there afterwards.. 

. 

Marcus ➡ God! Why did this thing get so complicated?... Find them fast.. Find them.. Kill them both of necessary...

Assassin ➡ Alright.. Pzzzzttt (signal off).

After that, the call ended... I felt so mad and angry right now.. The assassins we hired are fools.. If not fakes... How could a common driver be a problem to them, how? Thinking about their failure makes me sick.. The BODs asked me what happened after a long minute of confused stare.

BOD 2 ➡ What's going on? 

. 

Marcus ➡ Julia is alive... The assassins have failed us.. 

. 

BOD 1 ➡ So what now? 

. 

Marcus ➡ Now, I'll say we should just go to Abuja in four days time... Perhaps by some miracle.. The news of her death will reach us there.. But in any case, it's better we go there and see for ourselves.... If the assassins fail... Then I'll take matters into my own hands.

God! This Julia is sure a bad luck person.. Being in this car with her was annoying but now, getting shot at and involving in an car accident, this is next level trouble.. 

After the car crash, I slowly came out of the car... Luckily for me and the bossy b-tch there was no injury at all except maybe for the dizziness and immense shock from the car accident... 

After getting hold of my senses.. I went over to the assassin's car to see if any one of them was alive... The assassins were three in number and all of them were brutally bruised and injured.. None of them was moving and from the looks of their wounds, they would definitely be dead in some minutes if they didn't get any medical treatment and unfortunately for them... We were in the middle of nowhere.. No houses, no building, no hospitals.. Just trees and open fields. 

In that moment, one of the assassins phone rang, I picked the phone and answered the call to see if I could know who sent them.. Unfortunately, there was no name except a number.. After some seconds, I answered the call, and before I could say anything.. The call spoke out first.

Marcus ➡ Hello.. Is she dead? 

. 

I kept quiet as I heard that.. So the assassins were sent to kill Julia.. But why? Maybe the person that sent them has a grudge on her.. I kept quiet and decided to hear what the man would say. 

. 

Marcus ➡ Hello, is the target dead? Have you killed her? 

. 

Whoever this person is.. He sure is a desperate fellow and why does his voice sound so familiar? I recognized this voice but I couldn't recall where I heard it from.. Without thinking twice.. I made a mistake of asking who he was.. As soon as he heard that, he ended the call.... 

One thing I suspected was, whoever this person is.. he definitely works for Angelina.. Everything made sense in that moment... Since she's the owner of AMTEX and has no living relation except for her uncle whom she told me about while we were together.. One of her employees was trying to kill her and take over the company, Perhaps maybe somebody close to her or either one of the board of directors.. Once she's out of the picture, The company will be his .. But the big question is who wants her dead? I called the number again and faked my voice, the person answered my call and as I expected, the person was desperate, he was eager to hear about her demise but when I told him that she escaped, He was greatly displeased... Being a desperate fellow as he is.. I bet he's going to find a way to finish the job, even if it means doing it himself because men like this won't stop until they get what they want.. 

After the call ended, I copied down his number in my small Nokia phone and went to check on Julia,.. She was already out of the car when I approached her.

Julia ➡ You Ape!!! Do you have any idea how much that phone means to me?... All my contacts are in that phone.. Everything I cherish is in that phone... God, I hate you. Of all the driver's they could have hired, they chose you? Arrggghhh. 

. 

Jack ➡ You're stupid!! Very stupid!!! The least you could have done was say thank you for saving your life... These men were after you... They were hired to kill you... Preferably, I would love to see you die, but I'm not a killer.. 

. 

Julia ➡ Oh! So I should thank you... God forbid... You're the reason why I'm stranded in the middle of nowhere. 

. 

Jack ➡ B-tch, you're not the only one who's stranded. 

. 

Julia ➡ Who cares about you??? Perhaps lf I had gotten a better driver or maybe a flight, I wouldn't be stuck with a two timer like you. 

. 

Jack ➡ Look! I don't have time for your nonsense... We have to move now.. We are in danger.. And we're defenseless. We need to move now.. 

. 

Julia ➡ Move? With you? God forbid. 

. 

Jack ➡ Fine.. You can stay here and get k*lled or r*ped... Unlike you.. I know my way to Abuja and I happen to know some settlements living just a few miles away away from us.. I'll be going... If you like follow me.. I don't care what you do.. You're not my problem.

Julia ➡ Fine.. Go! Who needs you.. Two timing b-stard. Go! I'll be fine on my own. 

. 

Jack ➡ Sounds good to me... 

. 

I took what I needed from the car and began to walk away... Julia stood watching me thinking that I was going to beg her to follow me,... She must be insane if she thinks I'm going to do that... We're both adults after all.. She's free do to whatever she wants.. She's not my problem.. Who needs her?. 

I walking going straight without taking any directions.. Some cars zipped past me but none of them stopped when I tried to ask for a lift... I couldn't blame them... Picking up strangers in the middle of nowhere is quite unthinkable, the unexpected can happen. 

About an hour, I found a small hollow hill and sat underneath it... I was tired and a little bit thirsty.. As I looked at the road behind me, I saw Julia from a distance walking slowly and painfully.. I laughed to myself enjoying what I was seeing... It's about time she learnt a lesson in manners.. As soon as she caught up to me, She pulled out a gun 🔫 and pointed it at me.. Her stare was mean and vicious.. She was hoping she'd scare me but I sat down comfortably staring at her with a smile on my face.

Of all the people I had to get stranded with... Why does it have to be Jack!! Jack! That ungrateful two timing pig that wasn't satisfied with what he has. 

I hated him since the day he cheated on me with my maid and now I hate him even more that he's in my presence.. I could still clearly remember how he used my iPhone as a baseball ⚾️ on those vile men.. That phone cost me a lot of money.. If I were to use that money for shopping I would have brought lots of nice clothes. 

After we had survived the car crash, my first intention was to just let out all my hate and rage and just end his life.. But common sense made me realize how strong he was, and we were alone, He could even assault me and get away with it if he wanted. 

Any lady in this kind of situation would have followed jack but my hate for him wouldn't let me.... Even after he was gone, I stood close to our crashed car regretting very moment of this journey. 

I wanted to call either Marcus or Gina so that they could send transportation but my phone was already totaled, I went over to the other car and checked out my iPhone which was already out of shape.. I bit my lips in anger and began to shout in rage... In that moment, I saw a gun laying next to me, I slowly picked it up staring at it... An idea idea popped into my head in that moment, I stood up and took some of my stuff and followed Jack... 

Men are sure fast on their feet.. Jack was so far ahead of me that all I could see of him was a tiny spot from afar.. As much as I hate to admit it.. He was right about one thing... Staying here is a bad idea.. Anything can happen and I'll be damned if I'm going to allow myself to be killed or assaulted by strangers. 

Keeping up with Jack was annoying and painful on my feet, and the worst part was the wicked pig didn't even bother to look back to see if I was okay... As I followed his trail many cars zoomed past me, I desperately tried to stop them but none of them stopped.. I wanted to get a lift to Abuja, walking to Abuja is not something I can handle cause my body isn't build like a camels. 

About an hour later, I caught up to Jack finally, the ape was resting under a small hill underneath it's shade, as soon as I got close to him, I pulled out the trigger and pointed it at him... I was hoping he'd react in fear but he didn't.. Instead he sat comfortably smiling at me.

Jack ➡ So.. You've finally made your decision... Come on.. Get on with it. 

. 

Julia ➡ Don't tease me, you b-stard.. Don't even dare.. Or I swear I'll blow your brains out. 

. 

Jack ➡ Go ahead.. Shoot me.. Just make sure when you k*ll me.. Find a way to compensate my sick mother back at home.. My phone is in my pocket.. Her number is dare.

Julia ➡ Don't think you can fool me.. I don't even think she'll miss a wretch like you.. It's a shame she had to give birth to you..

Suddenly after I said that, Jack quickly threw some sand in my face, I was blinded in that moment, I moved back trying to clean my eyes.. It was a good thing I had my medicated glass on.. Before I could realize what was going on, Jack wrenched the gun from my hands and pointed it at me. 

I stood trembling in fear feeling terrified.

Jack ➡ You f-cking arrogant c-nt... Don't you dare ever talk about me or my mother that way... Besides what do you know about love? All you ever do is dedicate your time to work and then bring in some men to satisfy your l-st. If you're still talking about what happened between us, then you're nuts... There was no mutual feelings attached, In fact I was just a pleasure tool for your insatiable l-st, nothing more... S-x was what we did.. We never went on dates, we never talked.. All we did was just have wild intense s-x. Love isn't just about s-x, no.. It's a whole lot more than that, and I had always dreamed of the day of asking you out, but I was afraid you'd deny me.. Did you ever sit down and think about the consequences of what you did or thought the problems I would go through.. No? Because you don't care.. All you ever cared about is yourself and that's why you don't have any friends. 

And let's talk about your attitude and your lifestyle.. There's no way in hell, you'll have a relationship with the way you're moving with your life... You're always busy, you've dedicated yourself to your work so much that you barely notice anything or anyone else... Tell me when was the last time you actually had fun or relaxed with friends? Tell me.. Life isn't all about work or money.. Life is meant to be lived.. Life is short that's why it's precious.. Moments ago.. You were about to be killed and who ever it is that is trying to kill you, wants control of your company.... I saved your life but instead you insulted me and even tried to kill me.. I could literally end you with my bare hands and get away with it.. But I'm not like you.. So it's time you make a decision.. I was hired to take you to Abuja and that's what I'm going to do.. So it's either you stick with me or you can go where ever you want.. It's all up to you.. 

. 

After that, Jack dropped the gun in front of me and walked away... I felt completely washed up with his words that I couldn't say a word.. His words hit me hard and he was right. Everything he said was right.. I haven't had time to think about my life, I was so busy getting caught up in work and making money, that I forget the true value of life. After a while, I picked up the gun and push it behind my skirt and then followed Jack.
