A sprig of lavender.

Once again Lorrel was clearly a dab hand at sorting out this kitchen after a lycan family bust up. You would never know that Lycan wolves were in here earlier trying to bite one another.

She left a plate of food in the oven for me and a note in the fridge for a cold bottle of orange juice. Brennan had told us I needed to increase my iron level and the only way to absorb iron through food was to drink vitamin c enriched drinks or have an orange directly after eating.

I was feeling cheeky, so I placed the plate on a tray and took it into the sitting room. I turned on the television and found some reruns of the hospital drama I liked when staying at the Mulder pack all those months ago.

Lorrel had plated me up a sausage casserole and apple pie and custard for dessert. She really was amazing.

With my tummy and the babies now happy, I decide to finish the current episode I am on. I lay back, letting my tummy rest from all that food. I must have dozed off because

The ultimate sacrifice. “AIDA?” I can hear a voice coming towards me. My vision was starting to blur from the smoke inhalation. “Here, I’m in here…” I start to bang on the table, hoping whoever it was would hear my call. My ears couldn’t identify the person reaching me, my ears seem to have become tone deaf temporarily from the blast. For all I know it could be a female shouting for me. I open my eyes and take in the surroundings. Pockets of fires were burning around me but could easily be contained once help arrived. I look up to see the fireball had now disappeared and left black burning smoke in its wake. The hot smoke now burning through the floorboards. Even though there wasn’t any large fires in the kitchen, I couldn’t account for the top floors or even my exit. It could be the hallway was blocked with smoke and I’d have to somehow break out through the kitchen into the small family courtyard. The only problem with that was it was so secure…I wouldn’t be able to climb the hi

Mind fog.I’m not really sure where I am. I wake up to the sound of beeping and the sound of my heartbeat. Since when did I have two heartbeats? I follow the noises until the realisation hits me, these are the strong heart beats of my babies. As I gain more consciousness, I wish I hadn’t. My body aches. My lungs, my leg and my eyes all burn in their own way. I groan as I open my eyes. “Aida?” Brennan comes close and stands over me. “What happened?” “You don’t remember?” He looks at me with a frown. “Remember what?” My brain was foggy, I couldn’t keep a simple thought or memory at the forefront of my mind. The painful dull ache taking preference over any memory. I slowly sit up, with help from Brennan and see Axel asleep in a hospital chair. I look down to see my tummy is wired up to the machine, Brennan wanting to keep a close watch on the babies. I try to talk but my throat is sore. I swallow which adds a little lubrication. “What happened?” My brain fog still wasn’t clearin

The King’s Funeral. It was a damp dreary day. The weather symbolising the tragedy that is today, Ricardo’s final farewell. I was sitting alone in the hospital room with guards standing outside. I wasn’t doing well, being left to my own thoughts in a quiet room surrounded in a sterile and mechanical environment, wasn’t helping my inner anxiety. How do you say goodbye to a King, a ruler, a friend…family. Colette and Mav walk into the room, pushing Rayna who is fast asleep in her pram. “How are you feeling?” Colette says to me as she walks in the room. “I’m okay.” I smile sadly, I didn’t want to show any grief, any pain…how could I? How would that help? It was far better to hide any emotions away. It was easier not to feel. “I’ve brought you a black dress…are you sure you want to be there? That you’re ready?” Colette says, concerned about my welfare. This would be the first funeral I have ever been to, I wasn’t allowed at my mother’s. I would like to go to Ricardo’s but would unde

Accusing an Alpha. We had sneaked off towards the training base and hadn’t been caught, as all eyes were on the marquee. I knew that me leaving was irresponsible, but I couldn’t let Lance lose another loved one because of me. We took a royal pack SUV car. Rory came with his parents and I couldn’t deprive them of their returning vehicle, I was already depriving them of their driver. I was going to be in trouble anyway for leaving lycan grounds without permission, leaving the funeral and taking the heirs off site. This was going to buy me a few days of complete silence from Lance but I wasn’t afraid to make the first step in finding the culprits. We stopped off half way so that the Mulder pack warriors could join us for the second part of the journey. I didn’t begrudge the break, I was feeling increasingly nauseous from the journey and could feel Lance’s anger through our connection. He knew that I had left, and he knew who had taken me. Once we made it onto Hansen pack grounds, I c

Needing to live. “Aida, shit, what shall I do?” Rafe’s eyes look to mine in the rear view mirror. What do we do? They’ll recognise this car, if Mav is among the passengers he will have already radioed in to check the registration number of the SUV. There was no point out running them, we would end up in the same location anyway. “Just stop the car Rafe, they’ll already know it’s us.” I sigh, mentally preparing myself for Lance’s anger. Our convoy of cars slow down and park up neatly on the side of the road. The oncoming vehicles didn’t share our thoughtfulness towards other road users. Their breaks were slammed in a hurry and covered both lanes, leaving tyre marks. These Lycans were pissed. Lance doesn’t even wait for his security detail to exit the cars before he has swung his door open and opened mine at his new super fast speed. “Get…out!” He seethes at me. I gulp, dread overriding the sickness feeling I have had since leaving the Lycan pack. Lorrel, Mav, Axel, Brennan, Trey

Turning Eighteen. I had informed Lance of every detail regarding Alpha Hansen’s involvement with the death of Ricardo. How Fern had confirmed the bomb was meant for me and that I was certain Hansen was innocent and had been controlled. Lance had now asked that I leave everything to him from now on, that I stop getting too involved. A difficult request for me to agree to, but I agreed to it all the same. Hansen was still being held for questioning but was being treated well. Lance had entrusted Trey and some warriors to manage the Hansen pack while their alpha was off site. Blake offered to assist Trey but Lance completely refused. I could see how well protected she had been although she thinks she has always been little miss independent. Having left Ricardo’s funeral before attending his wake, I had missed out on meeting Blake’s parents. Apparently her father Giovanni wanted to join in on their collection of me, but Lance had denied him at his command. Lance was conscious of not le

Fated Mates!I didn’t know what to expect! No one had ever told me how it felt to find your mate and with it being such an internal event, I never thought it polite to ask. Even Blake, I never asked her what if felt like when she met Trey but judging by her frozen state at the time….her reaction spoke volumes. I didn’t expect this. I can’t move. I am rooted to the very seat that is keeping me from being a collapsed mess on the floor. His intoxicating rich plum and toffee scent reaches out to me like an invisible hand pulling me to him. Is this how he has felt the entire time? How has he managed to get anything done? “Lance…” I breathe out as he enters the door with a smirk on his face. He takes his time, every footstep leaves an echo in my inner ear. “Happy Birthday Angel.” He seductively grins, knowing full well the impact he is having on me. It’s like a gravitational pull towards him. I won’t be able to stop falling until he catches me. A possessive growl leaves my throat, whi

Feeling inadequate. “I think I’m clean enough.” I giggle as Lance continues to clean my lower region. “You can never be too sure…” He says as he places a kiss on my inner thigh before standing up and kissing me on my lips. I was officially obsessed with him, I don’t think I could ever be in a room without him from now on. I couldn’t take my eyes off him, or his even more muscular body. His body that had already become stronger in being an expectant father, but also even more powerful from now being King. I could also feel the twins craving to be near him, for him to protect them. I mean it hurt a little bit…I was trained for skin combat. Wait until they can see me fight. “Your mark is taking shape.” He says catching me checking out his physique. “It is?” I say placing my hand on my neck. I look to his neck to see my mark finally taking shape also. “It’s beautiful, the letter S with a crown on top.” He says describing my identical mark to his. “A crown?” I ask in slight confusi

A pledge. Lance POVAida had been extremely quiet on the drive back home. After packing we said our goodbyes and wished Trey good luck for his training with Giovanni. “Are you okay?” I place my hand on her thigh, as I check the rear view mirror. Both babies were sound asleep in their car seats and I was leading the security convoy back home. Brennan insisted on returning sooner than planned with us, he wanted to give Aida a full check up. He quietly said to me that judging by the twin’s early arrival we need to consider March onwards for her delivery. “I’m just a little shocked that’s all.” “You’re putting your block up, I can’t feel you. Aren’t you excited?”“Yes of course, of course I am. I just…I just wanted to do the training…to help keep them safe.” She looks out of her side window, not letting me look at the emotions on her face. “Angel, you don’t need to train to keep them safe. I have an army of warriors to keep them safe, I will keep you all safe.” …..“Aida would you

Boxing DayChristmas was everything and more. We didn’t buy Lex and Leona much because..well they are babies and didn’t actually know it was Christmas. The day was more for us and I thoroughly enjoyed making those memories as a family. Blake’s and Trey’s ceremony was beautiful and I can see why people waited for a special marking. But Lance had waited for so long to mark me that I didn’t regret our love story for one moment. Our wedding would be our celebration in front of our family and friends and the ceremony got me excited to start planning when I returned from training with Giovanni. I would definitely ask Blake to help with the planning. Their ceremony was under the winter night’s sky with the stars acting as twinkling fairy lights against the strong moon’s glow. She had been growing her hair out for the occasion and instead of the pixie cut when I first met her, she had managed to grow it out into a long bob, which she styled wavy with winter berries styled in a number of r

Christmas with the family. It was now December, Christmas Eve to be precise, and I was so excited to not only experience Lex’s and Leona’s first Christmas but to start training with Giovanni on Boxing Day. I had weaned Lex and Leona completely off me and they were now on solids and cow’s milk. Colette couldn’t believe their development. I knew shifter children developed quicker than human babies, but Colette found it hard to get her head around it. In fact, Lex was almost a similar size to Rayna even though he was 5 months younger than her. Colette was heavily pregnant and her mood swings were increasing. She was quite adamant that she didn’t want to know the baby’s gender this time around and was quite blunt to Mav about it. They had moved back to their house near the Mulder pack, she wanted her space and I understood, she was uncomfortable nesting in someone else’s home. I still saw her regularly and Mav every day. We had even babysat Rayna a couple of times so Colette could get

Saying goodbye. “Trust the Mulder Alpha, he holds the second of three!” Fern’s voice kept ringing in my ears. Is that what she meant, that Rory’s dagger was similar to the dagger Fiona used in the battle. Would it have killed me? It didn’t kill Fern, but is that because she has tied herself to Leona and Lex? It certainly was a powerful weapon. I could feel its power as soon as it cut my palm. With every cut it took longer to heal. I could feel a slight tingle in the wound, as I clasp it open and shut repeatedly. “Still healing?” Lance’s voice comes from the office door, his body engulfing the door frame as he lent up against it. “It’s taking longer this time.” I say as I trace my finger across the wound, even with Lance’s alpha saliva it wasn’t quite there yet. “Want me to re-lick it?” He smirks seductively as he walks into the office and closes the door behind him. “Well…if you’re offering.” I smile back at him before taking on a more serious tone. “I think Rory’s dagger migh

Setting out the terms. I was woken up by a few things. Something hard poking me from behind, Lance also snoring behind me…so that explained the something hard poking me from behind. I also woke up hot and sweaty, which hasn’t happened to me in a long time. I don’t remember dreaming last night, maybe it was a hot night. It was August after all and the summer heat was still clinging on before the autumnal wind change in a few week’s time. Lex was stirring whether he also added to my early awakening or his stirring was a result of my awakening…goddess knows. I throw on my nude leggings and a vest top before taking Lex down with me before he wakes up his daddy and sister to change him and give him some milk. I’m not even sure what the time was but the morning still had a slight darkness to it which for summer would tell me is was between 4am and 5am. The moon was just starting her transition of handing over the light shift to the sun. Lex and I settle down on the sofa once he has b

A chosen family. It was now dinner time and Rory had returned to the royal home having watched some trainees down at the training base. I know Rowan is keen to train and I wonder, when of age, if Rory will agree to enlist him. He hasn’t admitted it but I know he is impressed with Rafe’s training, especially as he has been heading up the Mulder pack security function recently. I had offered to make dinner tonight, even with Axel’s playful rude comments about my cooking. He said if there was a French fry in sight, he would order a takeaway in. Okay so that did spoil my initial plan but then I offered spaghetti bolognaise, garlic bread and salad for everyone and their mouths were already drooling from the mere prospect. There was fifteen of us sitting around the table, including my cutie Rayna. She was so proud to be sat in a high chair and eating the same dinner as the grown ups. Although she was making quite a mess of her outfit…and the floor for that matter but I didn’t care. I’m s

Steamy time in the office. “Do I even want to ask who you have in mind?” I chuckle as he closes the door, after watching Rory walk down the corridor. “No, because right now I have you all to myself.” He seductively grins as he locks the office door. “That’s true!” I stand up off his chair and walk towards the other side of the desk, perching against it slightly.Blake had put my outfit together for me today. A tight black vest top with skin coloured leggings. She said my wardrobe space was huge and looked very sad with nothing in it. So I ordered a few bits on her recommendation, and clearly my fiancé appreciated my attire today. “Do you have any idea how sexy you look in those leggings?” His eyes turn to that of a predator, ready to devour me. His eyes remain on me, my skin heating under his focused stare, as he prowls towards me. My body reacts to his movement, my breathing quickening as my breasts rise and fall under my tight vest. He leans into me, encasing me against the de

A forever friendship. Three weeks have passed and the dust was starting to settle. The Saunders pack had lost a lot of warriors and we have been providing lycan muscle to help protect their borders while they train pack members in case another attack occurred. However, you could be the best trained warrior yet a fight against witchcraft would completely reduce your chances of survival. This brought a new fire to my belly in ensuring the safety of the shifter community’s future. The Santos Lycan training programme was actually over subscribed and fully booked for the next two years. Alpha’s were keen to ensure their warriors were trained at the highest level. I think it also helped that they had pledged to me and knew I wouldn’t let anything untoward happen to their male and female fighters whilst on Royal Lycan land. Rafe had completed his training and I was sad to see him go. I missed seeing him around the training base. Alpha Ray and Luna Rennie came to his graduation, even Rowan
