Cooking breakfast.

Lycans are hungry creatures. I had now moved on to sausages and eggs. As soon as I placed food on the table they gobbled it all up within seconds.

“Are you not fed at home?” I tut, sitting down to finally enjoy a morning cup of tea.

“Yes but not so well fed by such loving hands.” Jake smirks grabbing my hand from my slightly warm cup of tea and placing it in his hand. He flutters his eyelashes at me before placing the back of my hand to his mouth.

“Knock it off!” Brennan growls at his playful younger brother.

“Aida knows I’m just playing…don’t you Aida?” He licks the back of my hand with his warm wet tongue causing me to pull my hand out of his grasp and wipe it on my top near my breasts.

“Eww gross! Keep your tongue to yourself!” I chuckle as I grab some breakfast for myself.

“Morning boys, I hope you are behaving?” Lorrel walks in wearing a silk black dressing gown. The woman was stylish even on little sleep.

“Yes Aunt Lorrel!” Brennan, Emmett and Jake sing out together, clearly a routined response.

“Morning Aida. I didn’t expect you up so early. Are you feeling okay?” She frowns at me from behind the kitchen island before opening the fridge door for milk to put in her morning coffee. I just nod at her while taking a sip of my tea. I didn’t want anyone here knowing about my bad dreams. It was embarrassing enough that Lance and Blake knew.

“You boys didn’t bother the staff too early I hope?” Lorrel narrows her eyes at her nephews.

“Fear not Auntie, Aida came to our rescue!” Emmett responds as he walks over to his auntie and greets her with a morning peck on her cheek.

It’s fascinating to watch. The three Lycan males clearly sense Ricardo entering the room before his scent or voice even makes his presence known. They do not even realise yet their backs straighten, ready to please and serve the Lycan King.

“I thought I’d be the first up!” He walks over to the fridge and pulls a cold one litre carton of orange juice out, draining the entire thing in under a minute.

“Morning Aida, I trust my cousins haven’t been too troublesome?” He winks at me as he leans into the table next to me to plate up some left over food. That is until his posture changes and he sniffs the air around me. Surely me being a rogue wasn’t too repulsive too him? He sniffs my hand and then stops himself getting to close too me before a growl emits from his chest. He is quick in his torment, grabbing the back of Jake’s neck which earns a yelp from the playful cousin.

“Why is your scent all over Aida?” Ricardo growls menacingly at Jake. My eyes dart from Ricardo to Brennan who is watching carefully. I have no doubt that King or not, he would fight to protect his brother from Ricardo’s wrath.

“He was just messing around. He licked the back of my hand and I rubbed it on my top in disgust.” I try to turn the room’s darkened mood.

There is a slight pause, the room’s atmosphere heavy.

“You idiot Jake!” Ricardo reprimands him by pushing his head forward as he lets go.

“What?”

“You can’t touch females that belong to somebody else. Hands off.” Ricardo’s mood changes instantly, his wolf clearly some what satisfied with my explanation.

“Be glad I’m not Lance!”

“Are you joking, Lance is the tame one!” Emmett chuckles as he reaches into the cupboards for some cereal. Are these lycans serious? He can’t still be hungry.

“Not with our Aida he’s not! Trust me…hands off or he’ll unleash the beast within.” Ricardo warns with a smirk.

Brennan’s eyes haven’t left me at all. His stare was quite intense and was making me feel somewhat uncomfortable. I suddenly stand up wanting to remove myself from the situation.

“Aida?” Lorrel calls out to me just as I reach the hallway.

“Where are you going?”

“I need to speak to Nadine about Lynx.” I reply.

“Damn it Aida…not on your own. Brennan your up first, watch her like a hawk!” I hear Ricardo’s growl vibrate through the hallway.

…….

I’m fast. I make it to the pack house in record timing. I wasn’t deliberately trying to give Brennan the slip, but if I managed to lose him then I’d pat myself on the back. I was waiting for the elevator to Nadine’s level when a hand touches my shoulder and leans forward to press the call button. I could have sworn I pressed the button.

“You have to press the button to go up Aida!” Brennan’s corner of his mouth turns into a small smirk.

“Are you not feeling well?” All teasing aside, he takes a step closer to look at my eyes.

“I didn’t sleep very well that’s all.” I reply, not wanting him to pry any further. My life was a mess and my chest was starting to struggle with being a rogue. It felt like a sharp tug that increased by the hour. It was my body’s way of trying to call me back to the pack, to defend myself. She-wolves didn’t make good rogues for many reasons, let alone the monthly heats. I was doing well keeping it hidden but it wouldn’t be long until someone noticed. I wasn’t even twenty-four hours in yet.

“Okay…you seem in pain?” Or it’s already being noticed! He gestures for me to enter the elevator as the doors open.

“Not at all!” I plaster on a big grin, extra toothy.

“Apartment number?” Brennan asks, his finger poised on the elevator’s buttons.

“Three-Four-Seven.” I offer.

“So this she-lycan is under house arrest?”

“Yes, she was leaking details to the rebels via her family mind-link. Queen Lorrel removed the link and she is under house arrest unless Lynx proves to Lance and Ricardo that he can be trusted.”

“Trusted?”

“For him and his group to switch sides.” I confirm.

“And you trust him?” Brennan raises an eyebrow at me.

“Trust is a strong word, but I hope he’ll do what is right by his mate and child.”

“Child?”

“Yes Baby Bonnie was born a few weeks ago. Nadine was mated to Lynx and his twin brother Spike…who is now dead.”

“He’s the one that shot at Axel and you?”

“Not Axel…he shot at me, but Axel took the brunt, stupidly blocking me.” I frown at the memory.

“Not stupid Aida. He did what he thought was best.”

The lift doors ding open. That had to be the longest elevator journey of my life.

A visit gone wrong. I go to open Nadine’s front door, when Brennan manoeuvres himself in front of me and gets to the door first. How the hell did he do that? Damn these lycans are fast. A slight growl leaves my chest at him cutting in front of me, which he chooses to ignore for now. As the door opens we are greeted by Mav who seems to be on guard today. Odd I didn’t think she was a threat anymore. I go to greet Mav but am cut off by the mind-linking conversation he and Brennan enter with one another. Nadine isn’t in the main apartment area but I follow her scent to her bedroom. I push on the bedroom door and find her in bed feeding baby Bonnie. She looks up at me with sore looking eyes that must have cried non stop since she was forcefully marked as punishment. A bang of guilt hits me but I have to remember her reactions almost killed Axel, not to mention the deaths of others. “May I come in?” I push my luck judging by the growl that leaves her. It is enough for both Brennan and Mav

A back seat driver. Ricardo wasn’t kidding. I wasn’t allowed to leave the palace for the rest of the weekend and if I exited Lance’s bedroom, I had to be accompanied anywhere else in the palace. Again not wanting to be a burden…I mainly stayed in the room. The physical affect on my body of becoming a rogue was extraordinary. It was difficult to explain, it felt like a constant sharp pain in my chest that was only getting more frequent in its spasms and stronger in its ache. Maybe I always had this pain but having the, albeit cold at times, warm feeling of being joined to a pack overshadowed this pain. Maybe this is what true anxiety felt like. The feeling of displacement since I was twelve but I had never allowed myself to feel it before. Never stood still long enough. Except for watching the television and going on Lance’s laptop, there wasn’t much else to do. I should really be training on his home gym but I would rather be watching Lance train from the comfort of his bed. Lance w

Smelling like a rogue. “I need to find her!” I restart the car’s ignition and start to turn the car around. “Just wait…wait for me to get orders from the King!” Jake firmly orders at me before his eyes glaze over.“She’s going to get herself killed and I need her alive!” I scream out in frustration. I need Lance and Axel back safe and uninjured. “Switch!” Colette orders at me. “What?”“Switch!” She steps out of the car and opens up the driver’s door. She shoos me over and I have to climb over the central gear system into the front passenger seat. “We aren’t too far out. It won’t take long.” This woman can drive! I’m envious of her confidence behind the wheel. Yet I am clinging on to the seat for my life, knowing how quickly things can turn. From being a passenger to being in the wreckage. “Colette…slow down!” I squeal at her as she takes a bend too quickly. Did I drive past that bend, I feel like I would have remembered that dangerous part of the road. “Do you want to catch he

Jumping the border. With her airbag having already been deployed, Colette takes the brunt of the car hitting the tree and blood starts to flow freely from her nose. She has also banged her forehead and the cut is quite deep. Shit, Mav is going to literally kill me. If and a big if, I make it out of this attack alive. She was already too injured for my liking and being, I hate to say it, only human…the warriors won’t be interested in her if I can lead them away. “Keep pressure on the nose and get word to Mav as soon as you can.” I say to her as I climb out of the car. “Aida!” She screams for me as I start to run through the woods, trying to force the warriors away from her. I don’t stop, even though they are all in wolf form and I am still in skin form. I curse at my wolf internally as I trip over a large fallen tree branch and land in a puddle of wet mud. Now what Aida? Just keep running. That was fine, until I came out of the wooded area and headed into a field. I could see th

The Mulder Pack Did I just hear him right? He wants me to join the Mulder pack? Does that mean my training is over? Have I pushed him just one time too far? “I don’t understand?” I respond quietly. “You being a rogue is clearly a safety issue.” Ricardo replies. “I’m sorry, your men were only following their wolf’s nature.” I apologies for yet again drama following me. “What happened with Nadine?” I ask, wondering what must have happened.“She killed her guard, not the one who marked her. Thankfully because he was able to help capture her.” “How?”“He marked her again, causing her body to collapse.” Ricardo updates me with a matter of fact tone. “Oh I didn’t know that could happen.” I mutter more to myself. “Where was she trying to go?” I ask but am met with silence. I meet Jake’s eyes in the rear view mirror who is nowhere near the cheeky Lycan I was enjoying getting to know. Okay let’s rephrase that. “How far did she get?”“You Aida, she was coming for you. She was armed wi

A Pack Princess’ pain. A good daughter would have stayed for the funeral, would have helped plan it. I am not a good daughter. But then he wasn’t a good father. “Oh right!” I respond, what else can I say? “Did you want to know when it is?” Andrei looks at me with a slight look of annoyance in his eyes. He was either annoyed of my lack of respect for his dead alpha, or that he was expected to travel around the packs. It was really a job for the beta. Which to me signals that all is now well between Henri and William. Perhaps Caleb has now stepped up and the four of them are living in the alpha house. I can see the garish welcome canvas print of Henri, Saskia, Skylar and Caleb in the main hallway. It will be bright and ugly, not Caleb though he looked good in any picture. A sharp pain hits me in my lower abdomen of thinking about Caleb, perhaps my heat was starting again. Great, I best speed up this rogue situation. “By all means tell me, but I won’t be attending.” “You won’t be abl

A Pack member again “Stop…please stop!” I scream out. “It will stop as soon as you pledge your allegiance.” Ricardo holds me tight, not giving me an inch of movement to attack. “I can’t…” I gasp out. The pain was excruciating, like someone was crushing my skull. “Just repeat after me…” Brennan is behind me, also caging me in. “I, Aida Sagar, accept Alpha Rory Mulder as my Alpha…” Brennan starts. “I…Aida Sagar, accept….” The pain now in my chest, catches my breath. “…Alpha Rory Mulder as my Alpha…”“And accept my place within the Mulder Wolf Pack.” Brennan finished. I’m wailing like a child as this point, the pain unbearable. Poor Rory looks heartbroken, like I am dying in front of his eyes. “Come on Aida, it’s nearly over.” Ricardo encourages me as he strokes the back on my head. “And accept my place within the Mulder Wolf Pack.” I push through the wall of pain. Knocking down each brick with my inner strength. “I, Alpha Rory Mulder accept your position within the Mulder Pac

Not the back door I lost, my wolf totally failing me. I was hardly any faster than a human. Then to finish it off I was informed that stage three training started in the Alpha’ office and I was cutting it fine to get back to the courtyard in time for 9am. After watching Rafe gloat about being the world’s best beta, I started to run back in the direction of the Alpha’s office. Having just eaten breakfast and then over exerted myself with the unnecessary run, it resulted in me vomiting in one of the male’s showers out in the courtyard. Rinsing the contents of my stomach away with the shower head, I quickly raced to Alpha’s office making it just in time for 9am. Strategy…seems like a lot of maps and planning to me. A bit boring for me. I was more of a do it now and worry about the consequences later she-wolf. Which when I mentioned this to Alpha, he chuckled claiming that is why I need to concentrate on stage three the most. That one day, I might be expected to send warriors into batt

A pledge. Lance POVAida had been extremely quiet on the drive back home. After packing we said our goodbyes and wished Trey good luck for his training with Giovanni. “Are you okay?” I place my hand on her thigh, as I check the rear view mirror. Both babies were sound asleep in their car seats and I was leading the security convoy back home. Brennan insisted on returning sooner than planned with us, he wanted to give Aida a full check up. He quietly said to me that judging by the twin’s early arrival we need to consider March onwards for her delivery. “I’m just a little shocked that’s all.” “You’re putting your block up, I can’t feel you. Aren’t you excited?”“Yes of course, of course I am. I just…I just wanted to do the training…to help keep them safe.” She looks out of her side window, not letting me look at the emotions on her face. “Angel, you don’t need to train to keep them safe. I have an army of warriors to keep them safe, I will keep you all safe.” …..“Aida would you

Boxing DayChristmas was everything and more. We didn’t buy Lex and Leona much because..well they are babies and didn’t actually know it was Christmas. The day was more for us and I thoroughly enjoyed making those memories as a family. Blake’s and Trey’s ceremony was beautiful and I can see why people waited for a special marking. But Lance had waited for so long to mark me that I didn’t regret our love story for one moment. Our wedding would be our celebration in front of our family and friends and the ceremony got me excited to start planning when I returned from training with Giovanni. I would definitely ask Blake to help with the planning. Their ceremony was under the winter night’s sky with the stars acting as twinkling fairy lights against the strong moon’s glow. She had been growing her hair out for the occasion and instead of the pixie cut when I first met her, she had managed to grow it out into a long bob, which she styled wavy with winter berries styled in a number of r

Christmas with the family. It was now December, Christmas Eve to be precise, and I was so excited to not only experience Lex’s and Leona’s first Christmas but to start training with Giovanni on Boxing Day. I had weaned Lex and Leona completely off me and they were now on solids and cow’s milk. Colette couldn’t believe their development. I knew shifter children developed quicker than human babies, but Colette found it hard to get her head around it. In fact, Lex was almost a similar size to Rayna even though he was 5 months younger than her. Colette was heavily pregnant and her mood swings were increasing. She was quite adamant that she didn’t want to know the baby’s gender this time around and was quite blunt to Mav about it. They had moved back to their house near the Mulder pack, she wanted her space and I understood, she was uncomfortable nesting in someone else’s home. I still saw her regularly and Mav every day. We had even babysat Rayna a couple of times so Colette could get

Saying goodbye. “Trust the Mulder Alpha, he holds the second of three!” Fern’s voice kept ringing in my ears. Is that what she meant, that Rory’s dagger was similar to the dagger Fiona used in the battle. Would it have killed me? It didn’t kill Fern, but is that because she has tied herself to Leona and Lex? It certainly was a powerful weapon. I could feel its power as soon as it cut my palm. With every cut it took longer to heal. I could feel a slight tingle in the wound, as I clasp it open and shut repeatedly. “Still healing?” Lance’s voice comes from the office door, his body engulfing the door frame as he lent up against it. “It’s taking longer this time.” I say as I trace my finger across the wound, even with Lance’s alpha saliva it wasn’t quite there yet. “Want me to re-lick it?” He smirks seductively as he walks into the office and closes the door behind him. “Well…if you’re offering.” I smile back at him before taking on a more serious tone. “I think Rory’s dagger migh

Setting out the terms. I was woken up by a few things. Something hard poking me from behind, Lance also snoring behind me…so that explained the something hard poking me from behind. I also woke up hot and sweaty, which hasn’t happened to me in a long time. I don’t remember dreaming last night, maybe it was a hot night. It was August after all and the summer heat was still clinging on before the autumnal wind change in a few week’s time. Lex was stirring whether he also added to my early awakening or his stirring was a result of my awakening…goddess knows. I throw on my nude leggings and a vest top before taking Lex down with me before he wakes up his daddy and sister to change him and give him some milk. I’m not even sure what the time was but the morning still had a slight darkness to it which for summer would tell me is was between 4am and 5am. The moon was just starting her transition of handing over the light shift to the sun. Lex and I settle down on the sofa once he has b

A chosen family. It was now dinner time and Rory had returned to the royal home having watched some trainees down at the training base. I know Rowan is keen to train and I wonder, when of age, if Rory will agree to enlist him. He hasn’t admitted it but I know he is impressed with Rafe’s training, especially as he has been heading up the Mulder pack security function recently. I had offered to make dinner tonight, even with Axel’s playful rude comments about my cooking. He said if there was a French fry in sight, he would order a takeaway in. Okay so that did spoil my initial plan but then I offered spaghetti bolognaise, garlic bread and salad for everyone and their mouths were already drooling from the mere prospect. There was fifteen of us sitting around the table, including my cutie Rayna. She was so proud to be sat in a high chair and eating the same dinner as the grown ups. Although she was making quite a mess of her outfit…and the floor for that matter but I didn’t care. I’m s

A tight black vest top with skin coloured leggings. She said my wardrobe space was huge and looked very sad with nothing in it. So I ordered a few bits on her recommendation, and clearly my fiancé appreciated my attire today. “Do you have any idea how sexy you look in those leggings?” His eyes turn to that of a predator, ready to devour me. His eyes remain on me, my skin heating under his focused stare, as he prowls towards me. My body reacts to his movement, my breathing quickening as my breasts rise and fall under my tight vest. He leans into me, encasing me against the de

A forever friendship. Three weeks have passed and the dust was starting to settle. The Saunders pack had lost a lot of warriors and we have been providing lycan muscle to help protect their borders while they train pack members in case another attack occurred. However, you could be the best trained warrior yet a fight against witchcraft would completely reduce your chances of survival. This brought a new fire to my belly in ensuring the safety of the shifter community’s future. The Santos Lycan training programme was actually over subscribed and fully booked for the next two years. Alpha’s were keen to ensure their warriors were trained at the highest level. I think it also helped that they had pledged to me and knew I wouldn’t let anything untoward happen to their male and female fighters whilst on Royal Lycan land. Rafe had completed his training and I was sad to see him go. I missed seeing him around the training base. Alpha Ray and Luna Rennie came to his graduation, even Rowan
