Chapter 68

Author: Dreamy Fire
Ironhulk looked at his subordinate. "Go and drag Sasha Quinton to the dog farm. Since this Felix Zeller is so powerful, I'd like to see whether he can save her twice."

Two hours later, sometime past 1:00 am, Felix appeared at Kane's house.

"I'm so sorry to disturb you at this hour, Mr. Zeller. I should've been the one to go to you," Kane said, looking distressed. Felix himself had mentioned that Kane could contact him anytime if he had news on the herbs.

So, he'd called Felix upon returning from his trip to another city. He'd suggested heading over to Felix's villa, but the latter had said he would come over instead.

Felix said, "It's not too convenient to meet at my place for the time being."

How could they discuss anything if he couldn't even turn the lights on at his villa? He didn't want to have anything to do with Xena before Curtis woke up. Sasha was already enough trouble for him. "Did you really get the things?"

Kane nodded and had someone bring them two bunches of her

Felix's brows were tightly furrowed on the journey to Hairot Dog Farm. "Why did you bring so many guns along?"Kane hurriedly explained, "Ironhulk is in the business of arms and weaponry, Mr. Zeller. He has many men reporting to him and a whole lot of guns. He's considered important in Avesburgh's underground circles. He might not dare to challenge me, but we do need to keep ourselves safe from him."Felix's expression turned odd. "You're afraid of mere guns?"Kane smiled bitterly. Only then did it occur to him who Felix really was. "I apologize, Mr. Zeller. I overstepped my boundaries."…Sasha was bound to a chair in the courtyard of Hairot Dog Farm. She no longer had tears to shed, and she was so terrified that she kept mumbling to herself. "This has nothing to do with me, I swear. Felix is the one behind this. Please, let me go."Ironhulk glared at her from his seat nearby. "Say another word, and I'll have my men take you inside."Sasha immediately shut up. Her hatred for Fe

Felix felt resigned as he looked at the scene before him. He didn't want Kane to make an appearance. He'd only brought the latter along just in case. It looked like it would be hard to get Sasha, who was fully conscious, out of here without things getting bloody.Meanwhile, Sasha's fear and horror had turned to despair at the sight of all the guns. To any regular individual, seeing a gun was about the scariest thing that could happen to them. She knew that Felix was dead meat, which also meant she was doomed.Suddenly, she regretted everything. She wouldn't have met Saul if not for her agreeing to help Ted take Felix down, and none of this would've happened. At that moment, Felix snapped his fingers. Someone got out of the Range Rover's driver's seat. Ironhulk's expression changed drastically when he saw who it was. "L-Lord Kane?"Kane stood beside Felix and said coldly, "You've got guts, Ironhulk. How dare you try to pick on my distant relative? Even I have to address him as Mr.

Warren's roar was just as Felix imagined. After all, Sasha had been abducted by Ironhulk in the middle of the night. How could her family be unbothered?"Uncle Warren, Sasha's safe. I'm sending her home now," Felix said."I'll be waiting!" Warren boomed. Felix could tell that Warren was genuinely furious this time. Felix also clearly knew that Sasha had been abducted precisely because of him. When they arrived at Silverwood, Nattie was in tears. "Sasha!"Felix placed Sasha on the couch and said, "She's fine. She just passed out."At least Sasha wasn't tortured—this was the only thing that reassured Felix."You animal! Get lost! You're nothing but trouble, and you've even dragged our family into this. Warren and I were beaten up, and all you did was a simple bandage job. Get out of here!" Nattie demanded.Felix said nothing in reply. He only approached Warren while gazing at him. "Tell me honestly. How have I treated you?" Warren asked."You've treated me as your godson, Uncle

Although the information shocked Warren, he quickly frowned and said, "So what? As Lord Kane's distant relative, he couldn't handle trouble like this and even affected you. "This means that Felix has offended someone far more dangerous and beyond our reach! From now on, Felix no longer has anything to do with our family. This might sound irresponsible, but it's for your safety."After he was done speaking, Warren turned and left. Only he knew whether he genuinely intended to cut ties with Felix."Mom!" Sasha looked helplessly at Nattie, who was still in the bedroom. Reflecting on Felix's actions, Sasha realized that Felix had never deceived or pretended. All of his past actions were absolutely genuine.Just the fact that he was Kane's relative had enabled him to accomplish things easily. Besides, Felix had saved her twice. She had to marry him—how could she wait for other women to throw themselves into his arms?Nattie said, "Sasha, if Felix really is Lord Kane's relative, then l

Completely unbothered, Xena sneered. It seemed that Felix was giving Ted a chance, but it was just Felix's attempt to involve her and rid himself of these troubles once and for all.He was just a reckless brute who knew martial arts. He should've evaluated his own capabilities before acting impulsively. Now, the damage was done, and people were starting to take revenge. Only then did Felix realize the danger. How ridiculous! So what if he was a martial artist? Perry's Golden Chamber of Commerce had developed significantly over the years with Xena's hidden assistance. They could easily take Felix down by relying solely on themselves.Besides, Felix definitely didn't qualify to pursue her if he couldn't even get past Ted.…In Sapphire Paragon, a high-end restaurant in Avesburgh, Sabrina was having lunch with Lawrence Schneider. He was a plump, middle-aged man.Suddenly, his expression changed as he received a phone call. He quickly wiped his mouth and said, "Babe, go ahead with

Not wanting to be deemed as unreasonable, Sabrina crossed her arms and coldly spoke, "Fine, then. It's better now that you're here. This bottle of wine worth 20 thousand dollars was shattered thanks to this man right here."Mr. Schneider had it stored in your restaurant—you can verify this easily."Upon her words, Tim understood that the wine couldn't be fake—any wine had to be authenticated before storage at Sapphire Paragon. Otherwise, if the staff had damaged it, how could the compensation be settled if the guest merely stated any amount?A card appeared before Tim as he looked toward Felix. Felix said, "Any issues with you taking care of things? I'm not wasting another word with this woman."Sabrina rolled her eyes. "Who do you think you are? How shameless to ask someone else to handle matters for you."However, Tim's eyes widened in extreme shock the next moment. Oh, dear! Was that a Golden Card? Unbelievable! A VIP had come to dine here."Our dearest VIP, I sincerely ap

Wendy was already nervous. Although she had feelings for Felix, she was afraid to offend him too much. Now that Hugo had suddenly appeared, she quickly stood up."Hugo, what brings you here?"She was rather unhappy with Hugo's sudden intrusion. Nevertheless, he had contributed to treating Bernard. Hence, Wendy still had to show some gratitude.Hugo regained his composure and forced a smile. "I heard you're dining here, so I came to have a look. Did I interrupt anything?"Felix understood that there was more to his words, but he remained unbothered. After all, nothing was going on between him and Wendy. Even if there was something between them, Felix wasn't one to care about others' opinions."Indeed, it's a bit inconvenient right now. I'm having a meal with my friend."Damn it! Hugo wondered if Felix was trying to chase him away.Though he still had a smile plastered on his face, his gaze toward Felix became icier. "I shall not interrupt your meal, then. Inferno's brows twitched as he sneered, "Hah! I must've underestimated your abilities. Interesting that you could find out that Nocturno's my brother. What a shame, though—why does it matter?"He had come here with a simple objective, which was to capture the villa's owner and interrogate them to find out who killed Nocturno. Even brief descriptions would be enough for him to deduce the culprit. After all, only a few people were capable of killing him."Are you belittling me?" Xena's strong presence surged. After becoming the goddess of war, she paid more attention to her ego. She wouldn't tolerate such an attitude from others."Xena Summers, my brother came to you just to savor the feeling of sleeping with the goddess of war. Even he had dared to do so—do you think you're a match for me?""What about me?" a voice interrupted Inferno. Chain Asura appeared before him."You must be the Asura from the headquarters! You seemed well-prepared, but what a shame that all of you have u

The reason Edmond dared to question Felix at all was that he was holding onto that one sliver of arrogance—he assumed Felix had only cured Christopher by pure luck, just because it happened to fall under his area of expertise.Otherwise, would he have even dared speak up? Not a chance.Once the silk threads were tied and tension filled the air, Felix spoke calmly after only a short pause. "Her Grace has a mild seasonal chill. It's nothing serious. I'll prescribe her some herbal blends—she'll recover within five days. Or, if she prefers a quicker route, acupuncture will do the trick."The Green King blinked, clearly stunned by the response. "You mean you can heal her without medication?""That's right. No medicine necessary." At the same time, a soft, melodic voice floated from behind the curtain. Sydney Haye said, "My love, that sounds perfect. You know I hate taking medicine. Please, Dr. Zeller, come in and begin the treatment."...15 minutes later, Felix stepped back out in

Joaquin was on the edge of madness. He wanted nothing more than to kill Felix right there, but he didn't dare risk the entire Goldstein family just to satisfy that rage. Disobeying a royal summons meant immediate execution—there was no bluffing around it.After taking a deep breath, Joaquin forced himself to put on a smile. "Dr. Zeller, then tell me—what exactly do you need in order to head to the Green King Manor?"Felix had seen this kind of groveling far too many times before. "Gras is right outside your estate. Go talk to him. The sooner you two reach an agreement, the sooner I'll leave for the manor.""What? Gras is here?" Only now did Joaquin realize just how thoroughly he had been played. Everything had been a setup from the beginning, and he had walked straight into the trap.Time ticked by, and eventually, Gras strolled into the courtyard. He said, "Dr. Zeller, the talk went well. How's the view treating you so far?" From the smile on Gras's face, it was clear he hadn't

Not far away, Wagner silently prayed with all his might. "Come on, Felix, don't back down now. Keep acting like a hothead—because only then will you die."As for any retaliation from the Longstone family, he wasn't the least bit concerned. Things had already gone too far, and Joaquin clearly wasn't about to back down. He would definitely find a reason to escalate the fight, and if that weren't the case, Wagner wouldn't have dared tag along tonight.Maybe his prayer actually worked, because Felix shook his head. "Sorry, I came here just to cooperate with your investigation. Anything beyond that… I won't do."Just as Wagner thought Felix had sealed his fate, someone suddenly rushed in, holding something in his hand. "Mr. Goldstein! We've got trouble—Green King Manor just sent a royal summons!""What?" Joaquin's expression twisted as he snatched the letter. A summons from one of the nine Minor Kings was no small matter—when it was issued, compliance was mandatory. Ignoring it meant

In the past, no one dared provoke a family war so openly as it would've been a blatant slap in the Green King's face. But this time, the Goldsteins had the upper hand. After all, Justus was dead, and the Longstone family was a prime suspect. Hence, even if blood were shed, it could still be justified.Joaquin knew this well. He also understood that Gras would never give up Felix for the sake of the Longstones' reputation, so even forcing the standoff served his purpose.Just as the tension reached its peak and a battle was about to break out, Felix stepped forward on his own. "You're the head of the Goldsteins, right? I'll go with you."Joaquin narrowed his eyes. He hadn't expected Felix to boldly step forward."Dr. Zeller, please step back," Gras said.Felix glanced at Gras and said, "Thank you for everything, sir. But the truth will speak for itself. Once the investigation is done, I'm sure they'll let me return."Gras stayed silent, but Joaquin chuckled coldly. "Return? Do you

Ginny was naturally present as well, and she spoke up at that moment. "Mr. Goldstein, no one wanted to see Justus die like that. But why did you bring your people to Longstone residence? Are you suggesting that his sudden death has something to do with us?"Joaquin's expression grew darker as he looked at her. He blamed Ginny for this, thinking that none of this would have happened if she had just agreed earlier. And now, they couldn't even determine the cause of death."No connection? That doctor from your household, Felix Zeller—he's the one responsible for Justus' death."Right then, someone spoke up from the crowd. "That's him! That's Felix Zeller!"Felix, who had been calmly sitting in a chair, finally saw Wagner standing among them. And in that moment, everything made sense."Wagner? You've gotten quite bold, huh?" Gras sneered.Wagner flinched at Gras's words, but remembering that he now had the Goldsteins backing him, he stiffened his spine and stood tall. "Cut the crap

In Cloud City, there were a few noble families. Nonetheless, behind the polite smiles, tensions surged. Infiltrating each other's estates with spies had practically become a tradition. While they rarely uncovered major secrets, the information they did gather always gave them a head start. So when the news broke, Gras didn't doubt it for a second. He jumped to his feet, furious. "This is outrageous! Their son dies, and somehow it's the Longstone family's fault?"Ryker looked just as puzzled, agreeing that the accusation made no sense. But Felix let out a quiet, weary sigh. "Mr. Longstone, I'm afraid this is probably my fault. I'm a doctor, and I've gotten a bit of attention lately. After they failed to determine the cause of Justus' death, and given our meeting earlier today, they likely saw an opportunity to drag your family into the mess." Gras's expression darkened, knowing that Felix wasn't wrong. After all, doctors could also be poisoners, and plenty of martial artists had fa

It was clear someone had said something to Justus. Otherwise, this situation wouldn't have escalated to this point.Felix said calmly, "It was a standard therapeutic massage technique, and I was blindfolded the entire time. Does that explanation satisfy you? Or would you rather find someone else capable of treating Ms. Longstone—I'll gladly step aside if you can."Justus sneered, his eyes filled with disdain. "Cut the crap, Felix. Don't act like I don't know exactly what's going through your head. Ginny's the heiress of the Longstone residence—Gras's precious jewel. Everyone knows that marrying her is like securing the entire household. Don't tell me that thought never crossed your mind.""It didn't," Felix said simply.Unfortunately, that answer was never going to satisfy Justus. He snarled, "Listen up, boy! I'm giving you three days to get the hell out of the Longstone residence. If you don't, you won't even get the chance to regret it. Everyone else might be afraid of Gras—but I

As Wagner watched Justus explode in rage, he felt an overwhelming sense of satisfaction. With what he'd just uncovered, there was no need to exaggerate—it was already explosive enough on its own. After all, Justus' future fiancée was touched in that kind of intimate way by a young, healthy doctor. Any man with a spine would lose it."But Justus," Wagner added with a smirk. "Didn't Felix just get publicly praised by the Green King?"Cloud City wasn't that big. Anyone with any influence had been keeping close tabs on Green King Manor—especially with the mystery man who walked out of Desolated Lands involved. So, the news of Felix being rewarded had already spread far and wide.Justus clenched his jaw. "So what? It's just a flash in the pan. If he was truly skilled, the Green King would've kept him. But as long as he hasn't climbed into the Green King's inner circle, I can crush him whenever I want."Wagner's grin widened. That was exactly the attitude he needed. If Justus had shown

The moment the Flame Monarch mentioned the Healer Sage, the Green King's expression shifted noticeably. "So the Sage really was living out there in seclusion... No wonder. Flame Monarch, does this mean you've taken a liking to Felix?"But the Flame Monarch waved his hand dismissively. "There's no need for that."That response made the Green King secretly rejoice. If the Flame Monarch didn't intend to recruit Felix, then he understood why—and that was perfect. It meant the opportunity to take Felix under his own wing was wide open. The night passed quietly. Felix stood beside Christopher's bedside, noticing the man's breathing had grown steady and stable. At this point, the herb had run its course and was no longer effective. But what was left inside Christopher's soul—a strange, lingering force—was exactly what Felix had hoped for.Christopher was alive but completely unconscious. The remaining energy had no regenerative properties, which meant he'd likely never wake again. For Fe
