Chapter 4

Author: Dreamy Fire
"Please, Dr. Fielding! Save my father. I'll give anything!" Vincent pleaded desperately.

Bernard's life was crucial for the family, and as his son, Vincent was willing to do whatever it took.

Xander sighed. "Your father will not make it through the night. But since I'm here, you have another option. I can extend his life by a month. Decide quickly."

Before Vincent could respond, Bernard croaked out with great struggle, "D-Do it."

Vincent quickly agreed. Prolonging Bernard's life for a month was better than losing him now.

Meanwhile, Wendy had slipped out of the room, looking visibly torn as she held her phone. She remembered the phone number Felix had given them earlier that day due to her sharp memory.

"Grandpa, I'll do anything for you," she murmured, her face set with determination.

At a certain residential area in Avesburgh, Felix stood in front of a three-story villa, feeling a mix of emotions. It had been three years since he last saw Warren Quinton.

Warren had been his father, Matthew Zeller's, best friend since childhood, and they shared a bond closer than that of blood brothers.

Just as Felix was about to ring the doorbell, he received a phone call from an unknown number.

"Hello?"

"This is Wendy, who brought over the Miracle Card earlier today. First, I want to apologize. Can you please come to check on my grandfather? He's coughing up blood like you predicted."

Felix couldn't help but smirk. Some people just needed to learn the hard way.

"Alright. Send a car to pick me up. I'm at Villa No. 6 in Azure Residences."

"Okay. By the way, we have a master healer here who claims he can extend my grandfather's life by a month."

Felix replied casually, "Tell him to leave. Doing so will only make your grandfather beyond saving."

As soon as he hung up, a voice called out, "Felix?"

Looking up, Felix saw a middle-aged man in the yard, staring at him in disbelief.

"Uncle Warren, it's been three years. You look even younger than when I last saw you."

Warren's eyes instantly filled with tears. He couldn't believe it was his best friend's son standing before him. "Thank God! My prayers have been answered!"

He rushed out and hugged Felix tightly, tears streaming down his face.

After a brief but heartfelt reunion, they went inside the villa.

"Nattie! Sasha! Look who's here!"

In the living room, a woman was lounging on the couch while watching TV, her legs extended in full view.

"Ah! Pervert, what are you looking at?" she screamed when she locked eyes with Felix. Upon realizing he was a stranger, she bolted upstairs.

"Warren, really? Sasha was practically naked. You should've told us someone is coming! Who is he anyway?"

Felix immediately recognized the two women. One of them was Warren's wife, Nattie Wood, and the other was their beloved daughter, Sasha Quinton.

"Nonsense! She's not naked. And even if she were, so what? Felix isn't a stranger."

Nattie scrutinized Felix, and then it clicked. "Felix Zeller?"

Her expression unexpectedly became bitter as she said, "What? Are you back to freeload off us?"

Felix understood her implication. After his parents passed away, he lost interest in managing the family business, which was subsequently taken over by his relatives.

Later, he met Gerald and decided to give the millions of dollars left by his parents to Warren for safekeeping. But little did Nattie know that Felix no longer cared about money.

"Shut it! Prepare some food. Now that Felix is finally back, we're going to have a drink. Stop spouting nonsense if you don't want me to get pissed."

Sensing Warren's rising anger, Nattie reluctantly went to the kitchen.

As Warren led Felix to the dining table, he beamed with joy.

"I'm so glad you're back. If it weren't for your financial support, my company wouldn't be where it is today. You basically own half of the company.

"Also, I once made a promise with your father to arrange a marriage between you and Sasha. It's about time we start planning your wedding."

Before Felix could refuse, Sasha, now dressed properly, reappeared.

"No way! Dad, you want me to marry him? Absolutely not!"

Sasha was undeniably beautiful, but the disgust on her face was off-putting.

"Do you think you get to decide?" Warren bellowed.

Sasha was near tears. "I won't marry him! You said he spent the last three years working as a doctor in a small clinic in some village. How could he be good enough for me?

"So what if he gave us millions of dollars before? The money would be long gone by now if he had kept it. Anyway, can't we just repay him the money?"

When Warren stood up, Nattie quickly intervened, holding him back as she placed a plate of food on the table. "Warren, calm down. This is all so sudden. Sasha needs time to process it. We should let them get to know each other first."

Felix spoke up as well, "Uncle Warren, Aunt Nattie is right. Marriage is a lifelong commitment, and our feelings for each other should be mutual."

He knew Warren well—he was straightforward and valued loyalty. He rarely went back on his word. So, this way, they could ease the tension and find a reason later to call the marriage off.

Nattie gave Sasha a look, and the latter relaxed a bit. "Dad, I'm sorry. It was just too sudden."

As expected, Warren visibly calmed down. "Alright. You have three months. Then, you two will marry."

Food was served, and Nattie smiled warmly. "Make yourself at home, Felix. You're like family."

Sasha sneered. "Mom, he came empty-handed."

Felix ignored the two of them. He had only come to see Warren after all. He had known for years that Nattie and Sasha were extremely opportunistic.

"Uncle Warren, here's to you." Felix raised his glass, cutting off Warren's impending outburst.

"Felix, tell me. What have you been up to? Three years ago, you said you were going to work at a clinic in a village, then changed your number. Do you know how worried I was?

"Matt is gone, but I treat you like a son. Just let me know if you have any difficulties."

Despite Warren's company growing bigger over the past three years, he remained humble, which was Felix's only solace.

"Warren, you're overthinking it. Felix is capable and doesn't need our help," Nattie interjected, her tone implying that she didn't want Felix to freeload off them.

If he were to insist, they would repay the million dollars he had given them, without interest, of course.

"Exactly, Dad. Felix is outstanding. He doesn't need us," Sasha added.

Felix was about to say something when the housekeeper, Brenda Criss, entered. "Mr. Quinton, there's a Rolls-Royce Phantom parked outside. They say they're waiting for Mr. Zeller."

A Rolls-Royce Phantom was a rare sight in Avesburgh.

Felix replied, "They're here to pick me up."

The Quintons turned to Felix, each with different emotions. Warren felt an inexplicable excitement, whereas Nattie's and Sasha's faces were full of contempt."Felix, you've really learned a thing or two in the past three years," Nattie remarked, her tone dripping with sarcasm despite the seemingly complimentary words."A Rolls-Royce? Felix, you're amazing. I bet a helicopter will come pick you up the next time," Sasha chimed in with blatant mockery."Uncle Warren, I'll visit you again," Felix said, ignoring their words. He had more pressing matters, as the person with the Miracle Card required immediate aid.As Warren saw Felix out, Nattie and Sasha reluctantly followed. Their expressions shifted slightly upon seeing the Rolls-Royce Phantom parked at the gate, but they remained unimpressed."Are you Mr. Felix Zeller?" asked a man in a tailored suit and white gloves. He was Marco Jensen, the Kinsley family's chauffeur.Upon Felix's confirmation, Marco opened the car door for him a

Although Wendy and Vincent might not have understood the full extent of what was happening, the sight of the arrogant Xander sprawled on the floor in shock made them realize Felix was the real deal."Remove the needles in an hour. Your grandfather will wake up tomorrow fully recovered," Felix stated before turning to leave. He was here solely to fulfill Gerald's duty concerning the Miracle Card."Pierce of Trinity… My God, I can't believe I witnessed the Pierce of Trinity."Snapping back to reality, Vincent quickly nudged Wendy. "Go after him!"Then, he helped Xander to his feet and asked, "What's the Pierce of Trinity?""It's one of the most miraculous acupuncture techniques in traditional medicine," Xander explained instinctively. "The Pierce of Trinity can cure most ailments. Though it has been passed down, very few can perform it. I've practiced for five years and still haven't mastered it."Reflecting on Bernard's condition and the placement of the three needles, Xander h

Felix turned and saw Sasha.Just his luck.He didn't want to argue with her, but he decided to say, "Sasha, you don't have to worry about what your father said. There's no future between us. I'll break the news to him in a month."Sasha chuckled. "At least you're self-aware. That saves me the trouble. You'd better stick to your words, or you'll regret it when I do it my way."Ruth chimed in, "You might not know how popular Sasha is now. She has more admirers than she can count, and many of them are from wealthy families. You're no match."Then, she glanced at the tail lights of the disappearing Rolls-Royce Phantom. "Renting a fancy car might change your appearance, but it won't change who you are inside."Felix nodded, relieved Sasha wasn't pursuing him. He never liked her, not three years ago, and certainly not now. Her family's company's success had only made her more arrogant and superficial. As Felix headed into Luxe Dining, Sasha scowled, and her disdain became evident. "Ar

Jamie was stunned, as were others in the lobby who heard the words "Supreme Black Card".Sasha, too, gaped at Felix in disbelief. The Supreme Black Card was a rare status symbol. Only about 30 people in the world possessed it, each with wealth beyond imagination. So, how could Felix possibly be a holder of the Supreme Black Card? That was just absurd!Swallowing hard, Jamie stammered. He knew that even the cardholders of the next tier down, the Diamond Card, would be greeted by the bank manager at the door.Handling a Supreme Black Card was a first for him, and Jamie was beyond nervous."P-Please verify your identity."Though the standard procedure was to immediately escort Supreme Black Card holders to the VIP room and notify the bank manager, Jamie was overwhelmed by the situation and couldn't think straight."Alright," Felix agreed, placing his right hand on the machine.Sasha's mind was racing as she watched. Wendy finally understood what Xander was referring to at that time. The big shot he had said needed help for her grandfather was none other than the war goddess, Xena Summers."Lady Summers, please don't misunderstand. I have no intention of keeping any help from you. However, I genuinely dare not proceed without permission from the master healer. I'm sure you know from Dr. Fielding what his temper is like."No interaction under this sky wasn't driven by interests. Xena didn't expect Wendy to explain herself so readily without excessive prodding."Just say the word, and I'll be at the Kinsley family's disposal from here on out."Wendy was shocked to the core. Such a promise was priceless beyond words. Standing before her was the first goddess of war in Dragonia who possessed supreme power. With her on their side, her family would definitely soar to great heights.Yet, as soon as she thought of Felix, a pang of guilt surged within her again."I'm so sorry, Lady Summers. This is not a m

Just then, Felix's phone rang. When Sasha and the others saw the caller ID, their fury was immediately extinguished.A phone call from Wendy Kinsley?Everyone knew of Wendy. She was the daughter of the richest man here, the drop-dead gorgeous CEO of Avesburgh, and the dream woman of countless men.Just this guy? Did he really have access to Wendy's mobile? That was beyond belief. At this point, Felix had already stepped aside to answer the call."Are you here?""In a few minutes, F-Felix. Since you're there, I've made a reservation at Zenith Pavilion. We can talk there. It's quite quiet. There's no need to change locations."Although she had Felix's permission to address him by his given name, Wendy still felt distinctly uncomfortable."Okay. I'll head over now."When he hung up, Sasha was about to burst into flames."Felix Zeller! Are you not done yet? First, you show off with an edited image. Hugo's brows knitted together as his deep gaze landed on Ruth."Are you saying Felix—the guy freeloading at Sasha's—has Wendy's phone number?"Ruth shrank back in fear, while Sasha stepped in to smooth things over."Hugo, I'm afraid you've misunderstood. That guy just loves to show off. If you let me explain, I'm sure we can clear things up for you."After learning about Felix's actions at Concord Bank and his presence here, Hugo let out a disdainful sneer."That's more like it. If someone like that had access to Wendy's contact, even pigs could fly!"Ivan quickly chimed in, "You're right. It was just too much of a coincidence! We almost let that bastard fool us again."Hugo patted him on the shoulder. "How dare that piece of garbage that even Sasha despises pretend to have Wendy's number? Don't you guys agree that he needs a lesson?"Ivan caught his message without fail. He had long been thinking about teaching Felix a lesson for harboring thoughts about his woman. Now that he

Impressed by Jesse's loyalty, Helena teased, "How many Scarlet Cardinals can you gather on such short notice?"Jesse fell silent, realizing the impracticality of the suggestion. The 12-mile perimeter in the desert was too vast. It would require over 20 Scarlet Cardinals for complete coverage, and there were not even that many in all of Guneria.Helene continued confidently, "Don't bother. No one who could overpower me exists yet, so let's not make a big deal of this. Neither Reagan nor that facility would have such a person." She had completely dismissed Felix as just an ordinary person, thanks to his masterful use of the Nightshade Discipline technique borrowed from Darren. With Felix's skill level, using it perfectly masked his martial artist aura, making him seem utterly unremarkable.…As they approached the facility, Felix felt elated when he noticed all traces of the powerful guards had vanished. Was Reagan really coming? Of course, he was—it was all part of Felix's plan since Reagan was now under his control. Felix had maintained this elaborate charade in case his first attempt to capture Helena failed, knowing he might need to try again. He had privately contacted Elliott without revealing the true nature of his mission, only mentioning his desire to take someone from Dragonia. Given Helena's appearance, her citizenship papers were likely forged anyway. Elliott agreed to help immediately, knowing that even foreigners sometimes got sick. Felix's extraordinary medical skills made the decision easy, as he could be their last hope when modern medicine failed. The plan centered around the desert biochemical research facility where Felix had previously been held captive. According to Elliott, this facility was one of Guneria's highest-priority projects, and its perimeter was surrounded by a strict 12-mile no-entry zone. While they did not have extraordinary fighters, they po

"So, how would you like to discuss this? Perhaps like this?" Helena purred as she placed her index finger on Felix's forehead.Felix immediately felt his Dragonspine trembling, responding to whatever trick she was pulling. He struggled internally, unsure how to react to Helena's technique since he needed to fake his response.Deciding to maintain his lustful persona, Felix widened his eyes and feigned an expression of ecstasy while muttering suggestive nonsense. From the corner of his eye, he noticed Helena returning to her seat, clearly satisfied with the effect of her power. She said, "I didn't want to use my abilities on you, but you were too eager. No one tries to seduce someone on their first meeting, though this works out well—now you won't be able to stay away from me."Felix's overeagerness actually matched his supposed identity perfectly. As Reagan's illegitimate son, why would he need to think twice about anything in Astoria? Getting whatever he wanted would be natural f

As the sun began to set, Helena sat in a private room of the Drapetown restaurant, listening to her subordinate's report."Ms. Mooney, we've uncovered his background! Felix is quite something—he's connected to the Starfires in Astoria, supposedly the beloved grandson of one of Kyro's old friends. However, our Westerio Order's investigation suggests there's more—he's likely the Shadowstalker Emperor's illegitimate son."Helena's eyes sparkled with interest as she laughed. "The Shadowstalker Emperor's son? Well, that explains everything. With Reagan's status in Astoria, it makes sense for the Starfires to step in as a cover to avoid scandal." Her subordinate nodded in agreement. "This guy seems to be quite carefree and privileged, and his features suggest mixed heritage—likely between the Shadowstalker Emperor and someone from Dragonia."Apparently, he got bored in Astoria and decided to find the best Dragonian cuisine to franchise worldwide. Money really does allow for such whims.

After finishing his business, Felix decided not to let Louise return home just yet. A True Blood Realm fighter could still be quite useful, especially since Felix was about to embark on a critical mission. It was better to make some extra preparations rather than risk anything going wrong. The next day, around noon, Felix visited a restaurant in Drapetown. After ordering several dishes, he made an unexpected request to the server. "Could I speak with your owner? I'm interested in buying this restaurant—money is not an issue," Felix said. The server responded politely, "I apologize, sir, but our owner has made it clear that the restaurant isn't for sale."As if anticipating this response, Felix gestured toward the packed dining room. "Is that so? Well, all these people are with me. Don't worry, they won't cause trouble, but I can't control how long they'll stay here to dine."It was only 11:00 am, typically a time when the restaurant would have just one or two tables occupied. Felix moved with lightning speed, his overwhelming presence leaving the two martial artists unable to even resist. "Enough talking! Submit, or die!" Felix demanded, his tone icy and commanding.Since gaining the loyalty of Selmer, a Blood Realm major mastery warrior, Felix had prioritized subduing his enemies whenever possible. These two True Blood Realm masters presented an opportunity too valuable to waste. "I'll submit!" Louise, the elder working for the Greenes, responded immediately. As a hired hand with no true loyalty to the Greenes, his quick surrender was unsurprising.Felix turned to Skyward Guild's master, slowly raising his right hand. "I am a Guardian of the Skyward Guild, and you expect me to submit? If you dare kill me, the Skyward Guild won't—" Before he could finish, Felix struck him down. After that, he used the Soul Sealing Needle on Louise, successfully adding him to his ranks. Though he now commanded only Selmer and Louise, Felix believed his force woul

The Greenes' involvement was no surprise after their previous confrontation, and, of course, they would not miss this opportunity abroad. Skyward Guild's presence also confirmed Felix's suspicions."Enough talk. I'm not exactly a fan of Guneria either, so let's not waste time," one of the elders said casually."Perfect, I couldn't agree more!" Felix's smile grew brighter as his aura surged, causing both men to look at him with surprise."Gage wasn't wrong at all—this young man has indeed reached True Blood Realm," one master remarked. Though they maintained their composure, they were shocked that someone so young had achieved their level. After all, it had taken them decades of training to reach it. The comparison was enough to make them choke on their frustration. Still, it did not matter much. There were two of them, both in the True Blood Realm, while Felix was alone. Two against one—the odds were solidly in their favor.Felix chuckled, cracking his knuckles. "You two old-ti

As Felix's words settled in, two figures emerged slowly from the abandoned house.Meanwhile, John was nearly delirious with excitement from his position far away. Despite his men being scared off by Felix's strength, John's mood remained unaffected, almost giddy. "Mr. Reynolds, why are you so happy?" his assistant, Eugene Klein, asked, confused by John's elated behavior. Given his usually cautious nature, John should have fled immediately after the failure. Yet, here he was, practically dancing with joy.John replied with a grin, "You wouldn't understand! Those two are terrifyingly skilled. Felix won't make it out of this, so I'm celebrating early. Go on, open that bottle of champagne I brought. You should have a drink too."John's experience and insight told him that Felix was most likely finished. Skyward Guild and the Greenes had sent two lethal experts, which explained why the Elders' Council had decided not to get involved. At that point, the outcome seemed pretty clear.

Once they entered the city, Felix broke the silence and asked, "Do you have any connections for unofficial border crossings?""Yes, we have someone from Astoria who handles that. It's completely reliable," Luna replied. Felix nodded thoughtfully. "Let's keep it as a backup plan. We might need it someday."After encountering the Westerio Order, Felix suspected they might interfere with his mission. Given their absolute control abroad, legal routes home might become impossible. Hence, having alternative plans seemed wise.Felix spent the entire day indoors while Luna returned home at his request. With the looming threat of the Westerio Order, he felt it safer for her to leave Guneria. As night fell, Felix stood near an abandoned single-story house in the desert wasteland of Guneria.
