Chapter 2

Author: Dreamy Fire
By the time Felix stepped out of his room, everyone was already gone. With his departure, his fellow apprentices likely wouldn't stay in Eden Village either.

Thinking about it made Felix fume. Three years ago, Gerald had brought him here and then disappeared without a trace. It was utterly irresponsible of him.

The sounds of knocking pulled Felix from his thoughts.

He looked up to see several unfamiliar faces standing at the courtyard gate. Even though the gate was open, they hadn't entered, showing some degree of politeness.

Felix walked over and noticed a few Mercedes G-Wagons parked outside the clinic. Evidently, these were wealthy individuals.

"Excuse me. Is the miracle doctor here?" asked a middle-aged man with gold-rimmed glasses, looking very refined. His name was Vincent Kinsley.

"The miracle doctor left this place almost three years ago."

Vincent's face fell. The miracle doctor was a legend in Dragonia's medical world. He was their last hope, and now, he was gone.

Beside him, a striking woman in a black jumpsuit gritted her teeth and pulled out a black-and-white card, throwing it to the ground in frustration.

"Dad! I told you the Miracle Card is a scam, but you wouldn't listen!"

Miracle Card?

Felix crouched down and picked up the card without minding the dirt on it.

After examining it, he said, "This is indeed a Miracle Card. Who's sick?"

The so-called Miracle Card was issued by Gerald. There were only nine in existence, and whoever possessed one could request the miracle doctor's services.

As Gerald's apprentice, Felix was well aware of this rule.

"Do you know where the miracle doctor is?"

Hope filled Vincent's eyes, and the woman looked over as well.

"I don't, but since you have a Miracle Card, I can help you."

According to Gerald's instructions, Felix wasn't allowed to reveal their mentor-apprentice relationship to outsiders. Hence, this was the best he could do.

"You? Dad, let's go. The greater the hope, the greater the disappointment."

The woman turned to leave, but Vincent grabbed her wrist.

"Wendy, your grandfather's life is hanging by a thread. Since this young man says he can help, why not give it a try? He recognized the Miracle Card, which means he must be able to do something."

Wendy Kinsley gazed at Felix with disdain.

"Seriously? You think he can save Grandpa? Dad, you must be crazy! He looks too young! Even if he started practicing medicine from a young age, what can he possibly do now?"

Felix frowned. He was willing to help anyone who presented a Miracle Card, but Wendy's back-to-back mockery was starting to annoy him.

Still, he glanced at the ambulance behind the line of Mercedes G-Wagons.

"Your grandfather is probably in that ambulance, right? After sunset, he'll start coughing up blood every hour. His breathing will become labored, and it'll take about five minutes to stabilize.

"After the third time, he'll even start coughing up black clots. This is my phone number. Call me when you change your mind."

Felix was willing to help, but he wasn't going to beg to do it.

Watching as Felix walked away, Wendy remained scornful. "A country bumpkin with delusions of grandeur. He probably saw our luxury cars and thought he could squeeze some money out of us."

Vincent sighed but didn't say anything more. He had taken Felix's phone number, holding on to it as a sliver of hope.

At that moment, Wendy's phone rang. Her eyes widened as she listened to the call intently.

"Dad! Let's hurry home. Hugo has managed to bring the master healer, Dr. Fielding, to Avesburgh!"

Vincent was astounded, thinking, "What? Dr. Fielding, one of the top ten healers in Dragonia? That's excellent news! Surely, Dad would have a chance now."

By late afternoon, Felix had arrived in Avesburgh, where Xena resided, and headed straight to the address stated on the marriage contract.

Despite feeling indifferent toward Xena, Felix knew he had to follow Gerald's instructions. Everything depended on Curtis' decision.

After slipping the security guards with a few bills, Felix smoothly entered Silverwood, one of Avesburgh's most luxurious residential areas.

Interestingly, this neighborhood didn't exist when he left Avesburgh three years ago.

Arriving at Villa No. 8, he found the gate open, a sign of the owner's confidence in the security measures of this residential area.

He rang the doorbell, and soon, a woman appeared.

She had an assertive demeanor, short hair, fair skin, and most strikingly, impeccable features that rivaled some of Felix's fellow apprentices.

She was dressed in military attire, seemingly preparing to head out.

"Who are you?"

"Felix Zeller. You must be Xena."

Xena's expression shifted slightly, then she stepped aside. "Come in."

Once Felix was seated in the living room, Xena spoke up, "I am Xena, alright. Haven't I made myself clear enough in the letter?"

Her expression remained stoic, occasionally betraying a hint of disdain in her eyes.

"You have, but my mentor has repeatedly emphasized that only Mr. Summers Senior can speak on this matter. You don't have that authority."

Xena was genuinely stunned for a moment before laughing in disbelief.

"What did you say? I'm the foremost goddess of war in Dragonia, and you, a doctor from a small village, dare to say I lack authority? It seems you've been isolated from reality for too long."

Felix could sense her air of superiority, but he remained unfazed. "Where's Mr. Summers Senior?"

Xena sat down as well, saying, "For Grandpa's sake, I'm showing you some respect by letting you inside. You should learn some humility.

"Our social standings are worlds apart, not just in this lifetime, but for generations to come."

When Xena saw that Felix was unmoved by her words, her gaze turned colder. "From what it seems, you haven't torn up that marriage contract, have you?"

Felix nodded. "As I said, the decision lies with Mr. Summers Senior."

The next second, Xena's right hand held a handgun, its dark muzzle aimed squarely at Felix's forehead.

"Did you think I was being kind? Either tear up the marriage contract now or die for offending a goddess of war. Choose."

Even though Felix had never had a gun pointed at him, he showed no fear. If he wanted, he could resolve the crisis in a blink of an eye.

"I don't care what you do. Your grandfather will be the only decision-maker."

"You!"

Xena glared at him, filled with anger and frustration. It was just a bluff. She wouldn't actually shoot him.

The day after her promotion, her parents had presented her with the marriage contract.

Proud and independent, Xena couldn't fathom letting others choose her future husband. Particularly, she couldn't accept someone like Felix—a seemingly ordinary man, even bordering on mediocrity.

"Fine! You want to see Grandpa, right? Follow me."

They reached the top floor of the five-story villa, where Felix saw Curtis lying in the bedroom.

"This is my grandfather. He fell into a coma a year ago and hasn't woken up since. I even sought the master healer, Dr. Fielding, but he couldn't help.

"So, you won't be able to get anything from him. I'm offering you one last shred of dignity. Destroy the marriage contract, and I'll do you a favor when you're in need."

While Xena loved Curtis dearly and had tried every means to cure him, a troubling thought crept into her mind: she hoped he wouldn't wake up at this moment. That was because Felix was insufferable. Not only was he useless, but he also dared to act superior in front of a goddess of war like her. He clearly had no idea who he was dealing with.Felix didn't respond to her condescending remarks. Instead, he rushed over to check Curtis' pulse, his expression growing serious. "It's the Phantom Poison. No wonder."Xena frowned. "Are you saying Grandpa's been poisoned?""That's right. It's the most potent Phantom Poison there is. If it had been detected earlier, I could have neutralized it immediately. But it's been over a year, and it has become more complicated."We need some rare herbs to treat it. Thankfully, the master healers you contacted did a decent job. Though they couldn't remove the poison, they managed to keep him alive."Xena's expression twisted with a mix of emotions. "Lo

But since I'm here, you have another option. I can extend his life by a month. Decide quickly."Before Vincent could respond, Bernard croaked out with great struggle, "D-Do it."Vincent quickly agreed. Prolonging Bernard's life for a month was better than losing him now.Meanwhile, Wendy had slipped out of the room, looking visibly torn as she held her phone. The Quintons turned to Felix, each with different emotions. Warren felt an inexplicable excitement, whereas Nattie's and Sasha's faces were full of contempt."Felix, you've really learned a thing or two in the past three years," Nattie remarked, her tone dripping with sarcasm despite the seemingly complimentary words."A Rolls-Royce? Felix, you're amazing. I bet a helicopter will come pick you up the next time," Sasha chimed in with blatant mockery."Uncle Warren, I'll visit you again," Felix said, ignoring their words. He had more pressing matters, as the person with the Miracle Card required immediate aid.As Warren saw Felix out, Nattie and Sasha reluctantly followed. Their expressions shifted slightly upon seeing the Rolls-Royce Phantom parked at the gate, but they remained unimpressed."Are you Mr. Felix Zeller?" asked a man in a tailored suit and white gloves. He was Marco Jensen, the Kinsley family's chauffeur.Upon Felix's confirmation, Marco opened the car door for him a

Although Wendy and Vincent might not have understood the full extent of what was happening, the sight of the arrogant Xander sprawled on the floor in shock made them realize Felix was the real deal."Remove the needles in an hour. "Go after him!"Then, he helped Xander to his feet and asked, "What's the Pierce of Trinity?""It's one of the most miraculous acupuncture techniques in traditional medicine," Xander explained instinctively. "The Pierce of Trinity can cure most ailments. Though it has been passed down, very few can perform it. I've practiced for five years and still haven't mastered it."Reflecting on Bernard's condition and the placement of the three needles, Xander h

Felix turned and saw Sasha.Just his luck.He didn't want to argue with her, but he decided to say, "Sasha, you don't have to worry about what your father said. There's no future between us. I'll break the news to him in a month."Sasha chuckled. "At least you're self-aware. That saves me the trouble. You'd better stick to your words, or you'll regret it when I do it my way."Ruth chimed in, "You might not know how popular Sasha is now. She has more admirers than she can count, and many of them are from wealthy families. You're no match."Then, she glanced at the tail lights of the disappearing Rolls-Royce Phantom. "Renting a fancy car might change your appearance, but it won't change who you are inside."Felix nodded, relieved Sasha wasn't pursuing him. Jamie was stunned, as were others in the lobby who heard the words "Supreme Black Card".Sasha, too, gaped at Felix in disbelief. The Supreme Black Card was a rare status symbol. Only about 30 people in the world possessed it, each with wealth beyond imagination. So, how could Felix possibly be a holder of the Supreme Black Card? That was just absurd!Swallowing hard, Jamie stammered. He knew that even the cardholders of the next tier down, the Diamond Card, would be greeted by the bank manager at the door.Handling a Supreme Black Card was a first for him, and Jamie was beyond nervous."P-Please verify your identity."Though the standard procedure was to immediately escort Supreme Black Card holders to the VIP room and notify the bank manager, Jamie was overwhelmed by the situation and couldn't think straight."Alright," Felix agreed, placing his right hand on the machine.Sasha's mind was racing as she watched. Wendy finally understood what Xander was referring to at that time. The big shot he had said needed help for her grandfather was none other than the war goddess, Xena Summers."Lady Summers, please don't misunderstand. I have no intention of keeping any help from you. However, I genuinely dare not proceed without permission from the master healer. I'm sure you know from Dr. Fielding what his temper is like."No interaction under this sky wasn't driven by interests. Xena didn't expect Wendy to explain herself so readily without excessive prodding."Just say the word, and I'll be at the Kinsley family's disposal from here on out."Wendy was shocked to the core. Such a promise was priceless beyond words. Standing before her was the first goddess of war in Dragonia who possessed supreme power. With her on their side, her family would definitely soar to great heights.Yet, as soon as she thought of Felix, a pang of guilt surged within her again."I'm so sorry, Lady Summers. This is not a m

He was afraid of scaring the little beast but also curious about what it was planning to do.After a few minutes of tense silence, Seekstorm slowly began to approach Felix, coming right up to him. It wasn't that friendly with him last time. Seeing its eyes sparkle with a hint of affection, Felix was almost in disbelief. He grabbed the steak and held it out.The little creature almost drooled, but after staring for a few seconds, it forced itself to look back at him instead."Hm? Why are you staring at me instead of eating your favorite steak?"Felix knew it wasn't because of his increased charisma upon reaching the Grandmaster Realm level. It was more likely that something he carried was attracting Seekstorm. After turning down several things with little interest, Seekstorm's eyes lit up when it saw the red bone that appeared during Aiden's demise. Who would have thought that Felix would just stand in midair like that, looking down at everyone around him? Wasn't that the sign of a Grandmaster Realm martial artist? It was universally accepted that martial artists of Grandmaster Realm couldn't fly, but they could stand in midair. So far, no technique or secret method has been discovered that could achieve such a feat. While the strongest martial artists could momentarily leverage the air to support themselves, only a martial artist of Grandmaster Realm could stand in midair like that.At that moment, Felix basked in the awe and respect of the people of Ghosttown. His heart swelled with satisfaction.Just as he'd predicted, reaching the peak of Transcendent Realm and absorbing the last piece of the Dragonspine had pushed him straight to the pinnacle of martial prowess—Grandmaster Realm level. No wonder he could absorb the Dragonspine so quickly this time. After confirming the results, with three days left until the full moon, Felix decided to absorb the last piece of the Dragonspine. Having successfully forged his Ethereal Constitution, there was no one in Martial City who could rival him at his current level. Nonetheless, he didn't want to risk any unexpected surprises.By noon on the third day, the sun was blazing down mercilessly, scorching the earth.A middle-aged man and woman quietly approached a particular house."I… I still feel uneasy about this. That's the Demoness' house, after all," the woman said hesitantly. The man scolded her, "What are you afraid of? The Demoness has been gone for nearly two years. She's long since left. Who knows? We might find some valuable treasures or secret techniques inside. Just because she didn't care for them doesn't mean they're useless to us."The thought of potential riches emboldened them. Felix's mind went completely blank at that moment. He was so shocked that he didn't even notice the emerald slip turning into a streak of light and flying away. His new discovery was simply too incredible. The emerald slip contained none other than the next part of the Lone Paragon. Back when he first learned it, he had wondered why the Lone Paragon technique was limited to a threefold power boost. Finally, his suspicions had been confirmed. When he finally snapped out of his daze, he couldn't help but sigh. "Danger and opportunity truly go hand in hand."With his current strength, he mastered this new part of Lone Paragon in an instant, increasing the power boost from threefold to fourfold."Could there be even more beyond this? If I master the entire technique, just how terrifying will my combat power become?"As he took a moment to center himself, an even greater wave of excitement washed over him.Not only did this new section of Lone Paragon increase his power further, but

Felix chuckled. He had to admit that Kevin was an incredibly difficult opponent. He was sure the man had only sensed something unusual, without fully understanding what had changed. Despite that uncertainty, he chose to flee without hesitation."Do you really think you can escape?" Felix asked.Lumen reappeared in an instant, materializing right in front of Kevin as if teleporting. This was true speed at its peak."Humph! I thought you would do something else. This thing failed to break through my defenses previously. Did I misjudge?" Kevin thought.Once again, the red glow flared up, forming a barrier to block Lumen. But this time, things were different. With a crack, something shattered. Lumen had pierced straight through Kevin's body. At first glance, there seemed to be no visible damage. Felix, who had just caught up with Lumen, knew the truth. Kevin was already dead. His soul had been obliterated in an instant. There wasn't even a flicker of emotion in his eyes. Everything

Felix had no other choice. Whether he would succumb to darkness or not was a problem for later. Since his Ethereal Constitution was still incomplete, he could only unleash Lumen in an attempt to kill Kevin. His strength was beyond anything Felix had anticipated.Just when he thought it was about to be over, Kevin suddenly stood still. A crimson glow flickered around him, then condensed into a shield the size of a plate. It perfectly intercepted Lumen just inches from his forehead."What?" Felix was utterly shocked. This was the first time anyone had ever blocked Lumen. If he hadn't seen it with his own eyes, he would have thought it was a dream.Kevin sneered. "Aren't you the miracle doctor's mentee? Do you really think that once a martial artist reaches a certain level, they wouldn't have some understanding of the soul? If I wasn't fully prepared, do you think I would have revealed myself to kill you?"Kevin had a soul-defense weapon similar to the Infinite Shield. Felix found i

What Kevin said next left Felix utterly shocked."Forget Eloise. If the miracle doctor were to release the seals on all nine of your fellow apprentices, I wouldn't stand a chance against a single one of them."Seals on all nine of his fellow apprentices? What did that mean?No matter how much Felix tried to goad Kevin for more information, he wouldn't say another word. He had no choice but to dismiss it as nonsense. After another ten minutes, Kevin suddenly unleashed a devastating strike, which sent Felix flying backward. However, by doing so, Kevin left himself exposed. For the first time, Felix landed a clean hit on him."Felix, now you'll witness the moment I've been waiting for all these years. Without this full-power battle between us, I never would've reached this point!"With that, Kevin pulled out an object. The moment a disheveled old man appeared, Felix knew that it was no coincidence. The old man had come looking for him on purpose. However, the real question was why he dared to do that."I believe this is our first meeting, right, Kevin?"Kevin grinned. "Yes."Felix rolled his neck. After all, he anticipated this fight a lot. During his fight against Cordelia, he felt the need to hold back. However, he didn't have to do that this time. After all, Kevin was one of the best fighters. There was no doubt about that."Did you come to avenge your mentee Aiden?" Felix asked. To his surprise, Kevin shook his head. "No. On the contrary, I should be thanking you for killing Aiden. I believe in fate, and I never try to manipulate it. "When the three Celestial Royals joined forces against you at the foot of Trirock Mountain, I was certain you would die. However, fate took a turn."Felix frowned, struggling to make sense of why he would want to thank him."So many things I thought were des

"What is this thing?" Westley asked."This thing created all the mist in Misty Ridge," Felix replied. He didn't bother explaining the origins of the Infinite Shield in detail. If done incorrectly, the consequences would be disastrous. He had entered Echo Cavern first by pure luck. Back then, he had been ambushed by Dean and the Grand Elder. Both of them had mastered Transcendent Realm. Hence, Felix hadn't had the luxury of choice. Just surviving had been enough for him.It was only thanks to Ophelia's guidance that he had avoided stepping into Misty Ridge back then. Otherwise, who knew what would have happened?Even though
