Lenora

I gradually opened my eyes, drowsily observing my environment. I saw that I was in the dungeon, the chill of the stone walls and the faint torchlight starkly reminding me of my situation. I tried to sit up, but a surge of dizziness overwhelmed me, making me lie back down.

“Hello?” I signaled the guards who were standing by the door and one of them rushed forward and bowed before me.

“Greetings, Luna!” He greeted me and I nodded.

“How long have I been here?” I asked him.

“You've been here for two days, Ma'am,” He said gruffly. “You've been unconscious the whole time,”

I felt a wave of anger wash over me upon hearing the news. Two days? How could Axel keep me here for two days? I was the Luna for heaven's sake!!

“Thanks!” I said to the guard and he bowed and walked back to his duty post.

At that moment, I heard the sound of footsteps approaching. I glanced up to find Melissa and her mother approaching me, wearing satisfied smiles. I noticed the other woman behind them!

Laura!

I gritted my teeth in anger as I remembered what Melissa had said. Heck! If I wasn't confined in this dungeon, I would have torn her face with my hands.

Now I won't ever be able to bear my own children.

“Well, well, well,”Melissa said, her voice dripped with malice. “Look who we have here! The former Luna, locked up in the dungeon like the criminal she is,”

I ignored her, but she kept talking, taunting me with her vicious remarks. Laura looked like she had something to say, but she stayed silent, her eyes fixed on the floor.

“She is so stupid. Just like her wretched mother,”Matilda hissed.

Finally, I couldn't take it anymore. I would gladly endure any harsh words directed towards me, but not to my mother. I picked up a nearby rock and hurled it at Melissa, but she ducked out of the way just in time.

Her mother and Laura burst into laughter. Just when I thought that Laura was feeling remorse for what she did to me.

Melissa's grin became broader. “Come on, Lenora, you are so predictable,” she said.

“Anyways, soon you will be nothing but a memory to everyone in this Pack, just like your mother.”

She leaned closer to me. “My plan is to make sure that Axel sends you away from the Pack for good,”

I felt a surge of anger at her words. “Shut up!” I yelled, yet she continued speaking.

“And just so you know, the baby I'm expecting, isn't Axel's,” she winked at me. “It belongs to someone else. I don't even know the man's name!”

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. How was she able to act in such a deceptive manner?

Melissa simply chuckled. "I know how Axel is eager for a child, and I knew this was the only way to get what I desire." "And now, he has made me the Pack's Luna.”

I felt like I'd been punched in the gut. How could this be happening? Didn't he care about my feelings anymore?

“Does Axel know that the child you are carrying is not his, huh?” I asked, but she chuckled.

“He doesn't have to know,” she said with a smug look on her face.

“Then I'll tell him about it–”

The next minute, the three of them burst into laughter. “Don't worry your poor ass, sister. He won't believe you.

“Don't you think he would see you as a jealous woman?” Laura asked. They walked away leaving me all alone in the cold dungeon.

The guards arrived soon after, escorting me to the open field where Axel stood waiting. The sun beat down on my skin as I approached him, my anger and hurt simmering just below the surface.

I shot a fierce look at Axel, my eyes burning with anger. He looked at me, his blank visage a sharp difference to the feelings swirling within me.

"Did you ever care about me?" I asked, my voice laced with venom.

Axel scoffed, his eyes flashing with disdain. "I loved you at first, but the love died when you couldn't give me an heir."

I chuckled lightly, the sound devoid of humor. "You've never loved me, Axel. We both know that you didn't."

Axel's face darkened, his voice dripping with venom. "That's not why you're here, woman!”

Melissa stood next to him, a self-satisfied grin on her face. "I believe Lenora ought to face consequences for her actions towards me. She almost made me lose my child," she stated as she caressed her belly.

“So how do you think we should punish her?” Axel asked as he wrapped his hands around her waist, burying his nose in the crook of her neck.

"I believe the ideal punishment would be to exile her from the Pack." She said and I scoffed, loud enough for them to hear.

Axel nodded, his face devoid of expression. "Very well."

“Lenora, you are officially expelled from the Pack."

“Seriously?” I asked him and he nodded.

“Yeah. I can't be with a murderer. This is what the Pack have accepted and you know as a leader, I have to please my people. I'll do anything for their safety,” He said and I shook my head.

The same pack that I had treated like mine. The same pack that I had served diligently. Yet, this is how they repay me.

However, as I was about to go, a thought suddenly popped into my head. If I was leaving, I should leave peacefully! I stared at him, a strong resolve igniting inside me.

“I reject you, Alpha Axel Hunter, as my mate. From today henceforth, you are no longer my mate. I reject your pack too. From today, I am no longer a member of this pack,”

Axel's expression dropped, but he swiftly calmed himself down. "Quite good," he replied. I could tell that he wasn't expecting my rejection, but I cared less.

"I accept your rejection. You are no longer my mate or Luna."

With a smile on my face, I turned around and strode off, experiencing a wave of liberation wash over me. I was finally free from Axel and the Pack. I couldn't even bring myself to tell Axel about Melissa's words. He should find out on his own.

On the way, I stumbled upon a tall, broad-shouldered man. I would have fallen face flat on the floor, but he caught me by the elbow, steadying me.

"My apologies for that," he remarked, his eyes wrinkling at the edges. "I'm Zade"

A surge of electricity coursed through me as I gazed up at him. There was something about him that seemed familiar, something that drew me to him.

"Lenora," I muttered, my voice hardly more than a whisper.

Zade's gaze sharpened, and his demeanor became serious. "I know you. You are Axel's mate," he stated. "Or at the very least, you were."

A wave of discomfort washed over me at his remarks, yet Zade merely grinned.

"There's no need to worry," he remarked. "I'm not here to harm you. Actually, I believe we might assist one another".

I lifted an eyebrow, curious in spite of myself. "What are you trying to say?" I inquired.

Zade's grin grew wider. "Let’s simply put it that I share a history with Axel," he stated. "I believe you might be the key to assisting me in bringing him down."

A spark of curiosity flared up inside me. Could this man be the accomplice I needed if I ever wanted to seek vengeance on Axel and the Pack for their betrayal?

However, when I gazed into his eyes, I noticed something that caused my heart to flutter unexpectedly. A realization struck me as I heard my wolf's words.

“Mate!” She said, but I didn't want to believe her yet. What if she was playing tricks on me?

"Who are you, really?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

Zade's grin expanded, his eyes sparkling with delight.

"I'm your mate. Don't you feel the bond?"

ZADE "Of course, I do. I can feel the mate bond," She replied in a robotic tone which indicated that she wasn't happy. She didn't sound happy at all. But that was the least of my problems. At least for now. What mattered now was that I've found my mate. My lips curved into a smile as the thought settled in my head. This had to be the happiest moments of my life. I never thought that a day would come when I would find my mate, but now she was right in front of me. Although I still have no idea what plans the moon goddess has up her sleeves to make Lenora of all people, my mate. I mean she is my archenemy mate. This is so forbidden! That was four years ago and I had plans of chasing her and making her mine, but all those plans went down the drain when I realized that she was not single and worst of all, she was Axel's mate. Lenora What the hell is going on? Is he in his right senses? How can he say he doesn't give a damn whether I can give him children or not? I mean no Alpha in his right senses will want to be with a barren Luna for heaven's sake! He wants to be with a woman who will never conceive? EVERY Alpha wants a woman who will provide them with pups that can succeed them when they are no more. My barrenness was the main reason why Axel's attitude towards me changed. If I wasn't barren, I'd have still been in the pack and maybe Melissa wouldn't have come into the picture. “You don't know what you are saying, Zade. We can't be together. I can't give you any pups at all, even if we have to wait forever” I said in a stern voice, hoping to make him change his mind, but he shook his head. “Of course I know what I want, Lenora. I want you and you alone. Like I said earlier, if the moon goddess gives us children, that's a bonus, but if she doesn't, we will adopt one,” He repeated the same wor

A man dressed in black suit rushed forward to open the door, but Zade shook his head, indicating that he'll do it and the guard bowed, before walking back to the car. With a huge smile on his face, he opened the car door for me and I got in, muttering my thanks. I didn't even realize that there was a driver inside the car already. He got in too and immediately, the driver started the car. A thought suddenly popped into my head. Even though he had told me not to worry about anything, I just couldn't help it. Clearing my throat, I started. “So tell me, Zade, are you sure that your pack is gonna accept me?” I asked him. He took my hands into his and gave it a gentle squeeze. “Why are you worried, baby girl? You don't have to worry about being accepted by them or not. They have no choice than to—” “No, Zade. Zade As soon as we walked into our bedroom, Lenora turned to me, her eyes glinting with curiosity. “Zade, what was going on downstairs? Who is Zariel to you and what did he mean?” My lips curved into a reassuring smile. All I was trying to do was to downplay the situation. “Nothing, baby girl. Zariel was just being his usual dramatic self. Don't listen to him,” “I see,” She nodded and I sighed in relief, but it was short lived because the next minute she raised an eyebrow, her expression skeptical, as if she was contemplating on believing me it not. “But what did he mean? What truth was he talking about?” She asked again. I chuckled lightly, trying to brush off her questions. “Honestly, baby girl, I have no idea what he was rambling about and even if I did, I wouldn't worry about it. You are my mate and that's all that matters,” Lenora looked unconvinced, but she didn't press the issue further. A sigh of relief escaped my lips. I wasn't expecting her to give up so soon. “

Zade I walked into the living room still fuming with my encounter with that brute. The guards handed the phone and I answered after composing myself. I wouldn't want my mother to know that I was in a bad mood. She wouldn't stop pestering me until she knew what was wrong. “Hello, mother,” I said, while forcing a smile to my face even though I knew that she couldn't see me. “Zade, my son! How are you and how have you been?” My mother's warm and melodious voice replied and instantly my frazzled nerves were soothed. “I'm fine, mother. How are you doing too?” “You don't even bother to call me. What kind of son are you?” She huffed and I could only chuckle. “I'm sorry mother. I've been going through some kind of shits and it's really driving me crazy,” “What's wrong? Is there a problem with you?” She asked, concern laced on her voice. It brought a smile to my face. Lenora's POV 'Don't feel special because the Alpha is being sweet with you. He would discard you soon, just like he has discarded the other women that he has been with,’ The maids' voice replayed in my head over and over again. No matter how much I tried to shake it away, it just wouldn't go. Even though I just met Alpha Zade not up to a day, I couldn't tell why I was hurt by what that maid had said. Wait a minute, what if I am just overreacting by being angry? “Of course not, Lenora. You are not overreacting in any way. It's normal for mates to become jealous when they get to know that their mates have been with someone else–” “I'm not jealous,” I cut her off. How can she say I was jealous when I just met him? It's not even up to a day. I just hate the fact that the maid had to spell it out to me. She really didn't have to. “Argh!” I gritted my teeth in anger while pulling my hair. “Take it easy, girl. You are gonna end up with a burning scalp,” Zoey chided me soft

Lenora's POV The maid tried to hit me back, but at that point, the door swung open and someone walked in, causing her hands to freeze mid-air. I tilted my head to the side to see who it was. It was a man, someone I hadn't seen before. He stands tall at around 6'4" with a robust, athletic build that somehow commanded attention. His broad shoulders and chiseled chest are evident even under his clothes. Just one glance at him, one would tell that he has been working out tirelessly. His biceps are well-defined. He has piercing blue eyes that sparkle with warmth and a straight proportional nose that adds to his overall symmetry. “What's going on here?” His voice boomed over the room and instantly, the maid brought her hand down. Even though I didn't know the man, I could tell that he was someone whom one shouldn't mess with. The aura emanating from him was unmistakable. Hence the reason why the maid looked scared already. She cleared her throat before starting. “Greetin

Lenora's POV Oh my gosh! I can't seem to remember the way to my room anymore! I couldn't even go back to the kitchen. Therefore, I decided to find my way to my room. It doesn't matter if I have to go through every room, one after the other until I find mine. I roamed through the unfamiliar hallway, like someone who lost her way. “Of course you did.” My wolf whispered and I burst into laughter. I couldn't help it. “You are not even helping matters at all, Zoey,” I said amidst my chuckles. “I'm as confused as you. I don't know anywhere around, therefore I can't help you. I'm sorry, okay?” “Yeah, I'll try. It's gonna take a long time, but I'll try my best. We will try” I muttered under my breath as I continued to walk away. All the doors in this estate were identical, so it's gonna be hard to locate my room, but I was determined to try. I took the stairs and stopped right in front of a door. • The Rise Of The Betrayed Luna   IT IS TIME

Lenora's POV "It would mean war for my pack." Even till now, those words still echo in my mind. Morning has come, but no matter how hard I try to distract myself, Zade’s warning from last night refuses to fade. Last night after our discussion, he had asked me to spend the night in his room, but I'd turned him down. I can't stand the fact that he'll get married and soon, he'll stop being mine. Even if he wouldn't stop being mine, I'll have to share him with his betrothed. First it was his ex girlfriend who had caused trouble for me, and now it's his betrothed wife. I wasn't mad at Zade in any way. In fact, he did what was good for his pack. A wise leader would always do everything within his powers to help his pack and that was exactly what he did. But if there was anyone who I was mad at, then it was the moon goddess. She's the cause of everything. She has always been against my happiness. I must say she hates to see me happy. But what have I done to deserve it? Why can'

Lenora's POV “What are you talking about?” He frowned, his eyebrows furrowed slightly. I couldn't believe that he was trying to feign confusion. I heard everything clearly. Therefore he can't be able to deny this. Not when I heard it. I wasn't eavesdropping on his conversation, but with how loud he sounded earlier, I knew what he was talking about with whoever was at the other end of the phone. “Don't lie to me, Zade.” I whispered quietly. “I heard everything. You are getting married, aren't you?” Zade couldn't answer my question and in that moment, I knew the truth. Indeed he was getting married. HE WAS GETTING MARRIED, YET HE DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT IT. He was keeping it from me and now I found myself wondering what else he must be hiding from me. “And when exactly were you going to share this?” I demanded and he let out a sharp exhale. “I'm sorry.” He muttered under his breath and I shook my head. “Sorry doesn't change anything, Zade. Trust me, it doesn't.” I his

Talia's POV Just when I thought that Zariel wouldn't do as I said, the car door opened and he got inside. I couldn't tell why he was always acting grumpy like the world revolves around him, when it is clear that it doesn't? I was about to say something to him, but the next minute, I saw that he had already slapped my driver. My driver looked stunned as he wasn't expecting it. What the fuck? Even I hadn't seen that coming. “What's wrong with you, Zariel?” I hissed through gritted teeth. “What the hell was that for?” He didn't even look at me. Instead he just leaned back, as he flexed his fingers. It was as if he was debating whether to hit the man again. “Answer me, Zariel. WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR?” I groaned in annoyance, but he just let out a derisive scoff. “You are really asking me that, Talia?” “Yes, you psychotic bastard.” I snapped. “You don't just slap my driver like some entitled tyrant. What the hell is wrong with you?” Zariel's gaze flicked to the rearvie

Zade's POV “How could you think about sending your daughter over to my pack without discussing it with me, Colton?” I hissed through gritted teeth. The more I thought about it, the angrier I became. “This is uncalled for, your Majesty.” He burst into laughter and I frowned, my brows furrowed slightly. “Take it easy, Zade.” He blurted amidst his laughter and the frown on my face increased. “What's so funny?” I couldn't help it. We were talking about some serious matter and here he was, laughing like it wasn't important enough. “I haven't sent her yet. I'm not a fool to send my daughter over to your pack without informing you. That's a foolish thing to do.” He elaborated and almost immediately, a wave of relief washed over me. Thank goodness! I was already wondering how I was going to explain things to Lenora if Colton's daughter eventually shows up at the pack unannounced. Now I have enough time to explain the situation at hand to Lenora. “Good.” I nodded like he could see m

Zariel's POV"That idiot!" I cursed under my breath as I hobbled forward. How could he just abandon me like this? Was he really so blind that he couldn't see that my legs were injured? “Weren't you the one that told him to leave?” My wolf chimed in, his voice laced with amusement and I scoffed in frustration. “You fool! You really thought I meant it?” Of course I hadn't. I'd only been playing hard to get, but who would have thought that he'd listen and tell the driver to take off without me? He was such an arrogant fool! Just like Zade. I'll make sure I give him a piece of my mind when I meet him again. I hissed as I stared at my legs. I need to get to a hospital as soon as possible. Darag - that idiot. He got what he deserved. A smile crept its way to my face as I recalled how Karl had instructed his guards to break Darag's legs. Not only Darag. Including everyone on his team. It was a satisfying scene to watch and what made it the most satisfying was the fact that I was th

Zade's POV “The one where you swore to wed his daughter.” Those words replayed in my head over and over again and no matter how much I tried to make it leave, it just wouldn't. “Uh, Alpha, are you still there?” Karl's voice came up when he didn't hear any words from me. “Yes, Karl.” I exhaled sharply. “I'm here.” “What should I say to King Colton's messenger? Should I tell him that the wedding wouldn't hold, since you've found your fated mate already?” He asked and I couldn't even answer. I'm a man who was known for keeping his words. What would Colton say if I don't keep my words to him? Now, this wasn't just some forgotten promise….it was a blood oath, one I must fulfill one way or the other. As if my fucking opinion changed a goddamn thing. My mind traveled back to the main reason that brought about this. Months ago, when rogue attacks began bleeding my borders dry, I'd swallowed my pride and gone to King Colton for help. My warriors were strong, but relentless assau

Damien's POV “I don't need a bodyguard, Axel! I'm a strong ass lady” Melissa rasped. From the way she was staring at me, I knew she was suspecting me. She must be thinking that I forced Axel to do this. “And I can take care of myself.” “I know, doll, but I can't leave you all alone.” He tried to convince her, but she wasn't having it. She shook her head. “You don't have to worry about me, my Alpha. I can look after myself. Plus my mother is there to watch over me and our son.” Axel's lips pursed. “I don't want to take any chances, Melissa. I know your mother is there for you, but I won't be at rest knowing that there is no one to look after my wife and son.” “But there are guards too!” She hissed through gritted teeth. She was trying so hard to make sure that Axel doesn't leave me with her. If only she knows that he has made up his mind. She should just give up already, because no matter how much she tries, he won't change his mind. And that's the best part of it. It brought

Zade's POV “How are you feeling today?” My voice was low and teasing as my mate stepped into the study. The moment our eyes met, a delicate flush bloomed across her rosy cheeks….. that same rosy hue that had darkened last night beneath my touch. We hadn't crossed the final line yet, but the memory of her lips on mine, the way her fingers trembled against my skin, the soft gasp she'd made when I'd suckled on her nipples and the loud groan that tore away from my lips when she took my cock into her little mouth.. No. I clenched my jaw, forcing the thoughts away. She was still learning, still discovering the fire between us. And as much as I wanted to claim her completely, to strip away every last barrier and lose myself in her warmth, I wouldn't rush this. Tomorrow, everything will be over. I'll announce her as my mate to everyone in the pack. I'd told myself that I wouldn't rush things with her, that I'll take it slow and steady, but who was I kidding? The more I waited, the mor
