Grayson

Abby killed the two ghouls that were attacking her sister in quick succession but did not see the one that was sneaking up on her. I moved to save her, but my legs were stuck in mud that went almost to my knees. By the time I pushed her out of the way, she had already been stabbed.

“No no no no no no” I cried. I looked at the thing that had stabbed her and felt a power I had never known before flow through me. I raised my sword and cut off the thing’s head, sending it flying. I cut through two more before I was able to get to her. The wound was bad – and deep. I didn’t know if I had the strength to fix this. “Hold on, Abby.” I whispered. “Please. I love you.”

“It hurts,” she muttered. I could tell she was about to pass out.

“I know, love, stay with me. I’ll get you somewhere safe.” Rose came squelching over as quickly as she could to stand guard over us. “We need to get her out of the rain!” I shouted.

“Grayson…” her voice was weak. She was fading.

“Yes, Wildflower?”

Abigail **WARNING: mild references to SA** When I woke up, I was lying on a cold stone floor. A dry cold stone floor. I looked around and realized we were inside an almost empty room. Grayson was lying beside me, asleep. Rose came over. “Thank the gods! You’re awake!” She gently hugged me. “What happened? Where are we?” I asked as I sat up carefully. “You were stabbed, and it was deep,” she explained. “Grayson saved you.” She paused. “Abby, did you know he had magic?” My eyes widened. “No, I had no idea.” I looked at the man sleeping next to me. What other secrets did he have? I brushed back a lock of hair that had fallen into his face. So beautiful. “Well, he does, and he’s powerful, according to Aryk. He just doesn’t know how to control it well, apparently, and healing you really took a lot out of him. He’s been asleep for over an hour.” Aryk walked up to us. “Your sister is correct, Duchess. Your prince holds great power, and I don’t even think he realizes the extent of

Grayson I found myself running to a hiding place I’d had as a child, Father right behind me with the switch. I had just seen my father over my brother’s dead body, his hands still around Duey’s neck. Father had spotted me and started shouting. “You! You did this! This is your fault – you and your damned ‘feelings’ and ‘pain.’ I’ll show you pain!” The king grabbed a switch and started chasing after me. I had run as fast as I could, trying not to think about what I just saw. I just wanted to survive. I thought I was safe in my hiding spot when Father dragged me out by my foot. I tried to shield myself from his blows. “You killed him! It’s your fault he died!” he yelled between blows. “You turned him against me! It’s your fault! His blood is on your hands!" “No, father! I didn’t do anything! I didn’t kill him! I didn’t turn him against anyone!” In the distance, I heard a familiar voice calling me. Begging me to come back, saying what I was seeing wasn’t real. I knew that voice. Abigai

Abigail The next morning, we all gathered around a small cooking fire and discussed what had happened. Aryk wanted to give us a chance to talk about what happened. He went first. “My worst nightmare was losing all of you and causing pain to the Queen. Sarah has put a good deal of trust in me to keep you all safe. My biggest fear is disappointing my old friend.” Cat looked at him with pity in her eyes. She reached over and gave him an awkward hug, made even more awkward by his pat on her head. He would not say any more, even though the whole thing was his idea. Cat went next. “We had reached my father, but he had been corrupted already, and I couldn’t save him. I had to leave him behind. He left me to fight the monsters on my own.” Rose put her hand on Cat’s shoulder and Cat looked at her gratefully. On his turn, Thomas said, “I was trapped in a coffin, buried alive. None of you could hear me screaming.” I reached over and patted his arm, and he smiled at the acknowledgment. I

Grayson We all watched as Thomas got up and followed his wife, still looking guilty as hells. “He’s either going to have a terrible time or a great one. There’s no in between there. “ Aryk said quietly. I nodded in agreement, uncertain which one I was hoping for. As soon as Celina left with Thomas, Abigail dove into my arms. I held her tightly, breathing in the smell of her hair. “I love you, my little bee,” I teased her gently. “They’ll think twice before they try to force me to do anything again,” she laughed and then kissed me. I took a moment to appreciate the woman in front of me. Every day, she gave me something else to love and be proud of about her. “Follow me,” Laurie ordered. He led the group to two tents and said gruffly, “Ladies in this one,” he pointed to the left. “Gentlemen in there,” he pointed to the right. When I walked into the tent with Aryk, I saw it was a bathhouse. There were two tubs, already filled with hot water. We could see other empty tubs, towels,

Abigail Grayson carried me over to an empty tent and took me inside. When he set me down, I noticed it was full of cushions and blankets of all shapes, colors, and sizes. It looked quite cozy. “Come here you,” he said in a growl that made my knees weak. He pulled me close and pressed his lips against mine. I wrapped my arms around his neck and let him lead me backward to the cushions. “Oh!” I exclaimed, as he picked me up by my bottom. I wrapped my legs around him and deepened the kiss as he knelt and laid me on the cushions, never breaking contact with my lips. My hands went into his hair as he slid one of his behind my head. I could feel his other hand moving over my body, on top of my clothes, stopping to fondle a breast. “Gray…” I moaned as he moved to kiss my neck. I tilted my head to the side to give him better access. “Say it again,” he commanded breathlessly. “Say my name.” He started to nibble on my ear. “Oh Gray… I love you.” I breathed. “I love you, too, my beautifu

Grayson “Abby,” I growled the way I knew she liked. Her hand tightened around me in response, and I moaned as she moved it up and down. Even over my clothes it felt amazing. I pulled up her shirt and exposed her breast. We both groaned in pleasure as I took a nipple into my mouth. “Gray…” she whispered in the sexiest way possible. I felt myself getting even harder. She sped up her hand… I was close already. I wanted to enjoy this, to enjoy her. “Stop, love,” I said, putting my hand on hers. She looked concerned. “Did I do something wrong?” She sounded so sad. I kissed her. “No, my girl. You were doing everything right. I just want us to take our time,” I leaned down and licked her nipple, receiving a moan in response. “I want to enjoy this.” I took my time undressing her, kissing each part of her body as I exposed it. She was a moaning mess by the time I was done, but was still able to whisper, “Your turn,” as she tugged at my pants. I complied and she smiled at what she saw.

Abigail One second, I was fixing my boot. The next, I was being carried off by a troll who was foolishly covering my mouth with its bare hand. I bit it hard, causing the troll to yelp and move its hand. “Help! I’m up, mmmff,” the troll covered my mouth again, this time with a glove blocking my teeth. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Cat struggling in the arms of another troll. I heard magic being fired, and knew that Aryk and Grayson were fighting the others. They didn’t take us far before Cat and I were thrown into a cart with several other humans who were tied up. A troll got in as the cart started moving and tied us up, too. “A good haul today,” the troll that had tied us up yelled to the one driving the cart. “Yeah, we got a good batch. They all look healthy, too.” The two trolls talked about us like we were fish they had just caught in the river. The trip to the fortress was only a few hours by cart. It was mid-afternoon when we arrived and were unloaded like cattle in

Grayson Finding them had been relatively easy. Getting to them had been a challenge. We snuck in under the cover of Aryk’s invisibility spell. Unfortunately, our cover was blown when I sneezed and caused a mini rock slide. One of the rocks had hit Aryk and caused him to lose focus, right as a troll patrol came around the corner. “Time for Plan B!” Thomas yelled. “Run!” Somehow we found the dungeons, and dispatched the guards with little effort. I blasted the door open and we burst inside. Rose found the girls first. She was so angry about their condition that she knocked out the teeth of the other prisoner. No one stopped her because he was still heckling the girls. He was calling one of them sneaky and telling them to put several parts of his body into their mouths. Catherine was unconscious and barely breathing. Abigail’s leg was bent at an unnatural angle, and there was something wrong with her hand. She kept holding it closed, and I couldn’t get her to open it. I picked up

Six months later, they were married in a ceremony held on the lawn of her mother’s nursing home. Their mothers held hands and wept happy tears as Tony and Molly exchanged vows they had written themselves. Molly started. “Tony, you are one of the few people in this world who truly see me. You’ve always seen me as so much more than I thought I was. You’ve helped me realize my worth, and that I do have something to offer the world. Every day you make me feel like the most beautiful woman on the planet. You encourage me, you don’t just listen to me – you hear me. We have been through so much together, and I can honestly say I wouldn’t have gotten through half of it without you by my side.” She stopped to wipe away her tears, but Tony got to them first. She smiled at him. “You are better than any fairy tale or romantic hero. You have saved me in so many ways. I promise I will always be honest and upfront with you. I will always support you, and you will always be the best thing that’s ev

**Three weeks later**Molly called her mother on her way home from work, like she did every night. “Hi mom,” she said cautiously. “Hi baby girl, happy birthday!” her mom answered. It was another good day for Sarah.“You remembered!” Molly exclaimed.“I did,” she said. “There should be a package waiting for you at home, too. The nurses helped me.”“Thank you, mom,” Molly said with happy tears.“I just wanted to send my daughter something special,” Sarah said. “Not every day is your birthday.”“I still appreciate it,” Molly replied. “That’s because you’re a good girl,” Sarah said. “How’s Tony?” she asked, changing the subject. “He’s good,” she responded. “We’re both still doing therapy separately, as well as going together. It’s been really helpful. I’m going to call him later and he’s going to bring over dinner.”“That’s great, Molly.”“I know,” she replied. “I’d forgotten how much I missed just talking to him. It’s great to be able to talk to him again.”“I’m just hap

It was difficult, but they did the work. They went through therapy together and individually. Their couples’ therapist wanted them to just spend time together, not as couple or with anything sexual between them, so they could focus on building back their friendship and trust. The no sexual contact was difficult for both of them, but they stuck to what they dubbed the ‘muddy waters’ rule. They spent a lot of time together over the next three months, mostly talking, but also just sometimes sitting with each other. On Halloween, Tony brought over Horror House 3, which was the movie they saw on their first date. He also brought take out from the restaurant they had gone to that first night. Molly almost kissed him several times just because of how thoughtful it all was, but she stuck to the rule. She did allow herself to kiss his cheek, which caused him to smile and blush. They bent the rule a little when he put his arm around her and she snuggled up against him. They bent it even mor

He pulled back and looked at her. “When?” he asked, his voice cracking. She hung her head. “About two years ago. Right when we sold the house and put mom in the nursing home,” she said softly, angrily wiping away her tears. He held her hand, and listened. “I found out I was pregnant and I had been trying to tell you, but it was one thing after another,” she said waving her arm from one side to the other. “It was never a good time. The night I was finally going to tell you, I had cooked dinner and made it all nice and… you never came home. Not until it was very late, anyway, and you stank of alcohol. You said you’d been out with your coworkers celebrating a big deal.” Tony remembered that night. He had seen the set up when he came home, but had been too drunk to ask. When he’d woken up the next morning, it was gone and so was Molly. He had assumed she’d gone to work.“That morning, after I woke up I started bleeding,” she continued. “I tried to wake you but you were passed out, s

“I’m over here,” said a small voice filled with pain. It was coming from the floor on the other side of the bed.He rushed over and saw her holding her foot, her hands covered in blood. Without a word he grabbed a towel from the closet, wrapped it around her foot, picked her up, and carried her into the kitchen. He set her down on a chair before unwrapping the towel. Molly winced in pain.“What happened, Mols?” he asked gently, sitting on the floor in front of her.She sighed. “I think Orange knocked a picture frame off the dresser and it broke. I stepped on the glass.”He washed her foot off gently. “It doesn’t look that bad,” he said. “You won’t need stitches.”“Good,” she said. She was so tired. Tony could hear it in her voice. “That’s the last thing I need.”Tony cleaned her foot up and handed her a rag to wash the blood off her hands. He was quiet as he carefully bandaged her foot up. He kissed her leg and held her foot in his lap.“You broke the door,” Molly said, exhaust

“Molly?” he ventured. She was pinching the bridge of her nose, trying to hold up her towel and the journal with one hand. “Yes, Tony?”“What secret were you keeping?” he asked softly. He reached out and fixed her towel. If the towel slipped again, he wasn’t sure what he’d do. Molly was gorgeous and he missed her so much. She wouldn’t look at him. “It doesn’t matter now,” she answered. “Please don’t jump off a bridge,” he said sadly. She still wouldn’t look at him. “I’m going to put on some clothes,” she said. Before he could stop himself, he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close. “I don’t mind you in just a towel,” he said softly into her ear.She looked at him, confused. “Muddy waters, Tony, remember?” she said. “It’s your rule, not mine. I didn’t know you were out here or I wouldn’t have come out in my towel.”“But…” he started. “Do you want to get back together?” she asked angrily. “I…” he hesitated.“Please leave, Tony,” Molly said with tears in her eyes

A few minutes after Molly got in the shower, there was a knock at her door.“Mols?” Tony called. “Hey Molly, come on – open up.” More knocking. “Please, Mols.”Maybe she’s in the shower, he thought. He pulled out the key that Molly insisted he keep after he moved out, in case of emergency. Molly didn’t have any other family outside of her mom, so Tony was still her emergency contact. While being ignored wasn’t an emergency, he didn’t like the thought of her sitting by herself being sad. He still loved her. He had been devastated when she agreed to the breakup and didn’t even try to fight for him. He went through with the breakup because he figured she didn’t love him anymore when she didn’t fight it. They hardly saw each other due to work, even though they had lived together. They had both changed and things were different between them, but he still loved her. He knew she thought of herself as a disappointment, but he never did. The last few years dealing with her mom’s rapidly

No one paid attention to Molly Monroe. She was average. She blended into the scenery, unremarkable with her shoulder length brown hair, brown eyes, and glasses – she was every girl and no girl in particular. Only two people in this world had ever truly seen Molly Monroe – her mother and Tony.Tony Morales was her high school – and only – boyfriend. They had broken up about a year ago. The reasons were numerous. He traveled a lot for his job, her schedule was strange, and they never saw each other. The spark had disappeared. The break up had been ‘mutual’ in that he suggested breaking up and she knew she had nothing to offer him, so she let it happen. In high school, she had been the one ‘with so much potential.’ Now she was just a disappointment and going nowhere. She was sure that’s why Tony dumped her, though he was too kind to say it. At least they were still friends and he would take her calls. He didn’t just drop her after eight years of dating.God, she missed Tony. Almost a

Before I write any more, I want to be clear with anyone who finds this journal: my wife is the most amazing, smart, wonderful, kind, loving, and talented person I know. I would literally not be alive today without her. I would have died in my father's attack on Alderei. I love my wife. I always have. What can you say about someone you've loved since you were five years old?My wife gave me the family I've always wanted. She birthed six beautiful children, and we lost one little soul. Little Sawyer will always be acknowledged as part of our family and will always be in our hearts. Samuel, Olivia, Theodore, Charlotte, Benjamin, and Calista. They are the six the Mother chose to stay in this world. They are our world. I will admit to be slightly more overprotective of Olivia than the others, but she was the one we almost lost to my father. My oldest girl, my baby, was almost a sacrifice.
