Chapter 32: Thirty-Two

The doctor lifted his stethoscope and pressed it against Mr. Reuben's heart. He listened attentively to my father's heartbeat for a few seconds, then looked at the tumor under my father's collarbone.

Upon seeing that the tumor had significantly reduced in size, a look of astonishment appeared on the doctor's face.

"Your condition seems much better; it's probably the effect of the previous chemotherapy," he said.

The doctor stood upright and smiled. "Well, you should undergo a comprehensive examination first to confirm whether your condition has indeed improved. As for whether you should continue using the previous cancer treatment medication, we'll determine that after the examination."

"Okay, Doctor," Mr. Reuben nodded.

He didn't tell the doctor that he had been treated by me with medication I had devised.

He worried that if the doctor found out, he might blame him and might even scold me for prescribing medication without proper qualifications.
