I held my neck up high, slowly veering round to face her. Her hand was still on my shoulders, awaiting my face reveal.

Suddenly, Tristan walked into the picture and pulled Aurelia's hands away from me. I gasped out in shock and stared at him. He had his gaze on me, and appeared to be annoyed.

''We have to leave now, babe,''

He said to me with gritted teeth, holding my head in a spot I couldn't move from.

I heard Aurelia muttered something under her breath as she turned to Tristan.

''I'm so sorry,'' I heard her apologize, ''I didn't mean to disturb your wife. I was asking her if she had seen my daughter, and I felt she looked familiar,''

I couldn't utter a word, and still remained speechless. Tristan waves her off and grabbed my hand firmly. Aurelia proceeded to walk towards the hallway where Hailey had ran off to. And while she turned to leave, she tried catching a glimpse of my face, but Tristan pulled me into his hold before I could even move or speak.

I spent the next few days hiding in the shadows. After hearing the information that Jordan and Aurelia had killed me, I decided it was better for me to tread with caution.Hiding didn't stop me from mapping out plans. And in fact, Tristan had already gotten useful information about Emily's address.''She's moved to Baltimore.'' he disclosed to me one sunny afternoon, while I was relaxing in his study, ''And from what I heard, she's got nobody living with her.''My heart raced with fear. What could that possibly mean? What happened to my babies i left with her?''It can't be.'' I muttered to myself, nodding my head in disapproval, ''I entrusted Kylie and Khloe to her care. How can she be living alone?''Tristan clicked his tongue while pulling a seat next to me in the study. I was deeply engrossed in my thoughts, and I felt the deep urge to find Emily and rip out her hair.''You have to stay calm, Valerie.'' Tristan reminded me, seeing the sudden anger that was beginning to cloud my fa

''There's no way you're telling the truth.'' I muttered in shock at Emily's words. I couldn't believe she just confirmed the plans Aurelia and Jordan made six years ago. They really tried to kill me!I felt Tristan's hands patting my shoulder gently, trying to make me calm down in my seat. After much pleading and a little threat from him, Emily reluctantly ushered us into her house.''I decided to let you go, Ivy.'' she continued her confession, referring to how she was supposed to kill me in prison, ''So, I took pity on you and had to flee with the twins to somewhere safe. Jordan won't take it lightly with me if he finds out you're free and alive.''I couldn't hold back my tears anymore. Things were more complicated than I thought, and it made my revenge spirit even more stronger than before.''Does Jordan know about the kids? And that they're his?'' I heard Tristan's question while I had my head to the ground. Curious, I pushed my gaze to Emily for her answer. She took a deep breath

Emily's reaction baffled me alot. I couldn't believe she would actually be so hostile to me. She was one of the few individuals I trusted so much, and that was the reason I entrusted Kyle and Khloe to her. But it turned out she was taking my hospitality for stupidity. The next day was a boring one for me, and I thought it would be better to do some shopping to clear off my stress. Tristan was always working so hard and late these past few days, and I was always left in the house alone.Mall inlet was one of the biggest and most expensive in the city, and I decided to go there. Tristan had the driver take him to his destinations, so I had to drive myself.I knew shopping was the best idea I had for the day immediately I stepped into the mall. The whole building, and designs that graced various shelves were so alluring that I felt like purchasing every thing in sight. I couldn't remember the last time I had visited this particular mall, if I remembered correctly, it was since my first y

I paused for a moment, unable to find the right words to use. But, trust my prickling conscience, it just wouldn't let me keep quiet at the whole situation.''Wait a minute,'' I was trying to get something straight, while making gestures with my hands, ''I… I thought you both separated… Why are you here…? I mean… why are you both kissing and…''I couldn't help the stuttering, neither could I complete my sentence. It felt like I was crossing my boundaries, and I decided it would be best if I had my mouth shut.''Valerie, listen–'' Tristan tried uttering a word, but I interrupted him by waving my hands at him, and breaking into his words.''It's… it's fine. I'll just be upstairs.''My legs carried me faster than I expected, and I could feel Rebecca's eyes on me while climbing up the stairs to my room. Or was it her room? What if she was here to claim back Tristan and everything that rightfully belonged to her. That meant I had to find another place to move into.I didn't hesitate to get

It turned out Tristan wasn't holding me back from leaving. He had something else entirely to say.‘’If you're leaving, then you have to drop the keys to the car,’’I snorted out in disbelief. Was this a joke or something? I noticed the mischievous smile dancing on the lips or Rebecca. Of course, she was relishing every single action, and was happy to regain everything once more.‘’Fine!’’ my voice uttered coldly. I reached for my handbag, and grabbed the keys to the car he had given me. My breath was a fuming one, I was feeling so humiliated, and I wished I had my own money to get everything I wanted. Without thinking twice, I threw the keys at him, and stormed out of the room.*_**_**_*It wasn't easy to get a cab. I barely had enough money with me. The only thing I could think of at that moment was how to get back at Tristan, and a place I could stay.I made a reservation to stay at a hotel cheap enough for me to afford. While trying to pay for it with my card, it declined. And I

I stopped talking the moment my eyes came in contact with hers. My breath became shaky, and I could feel a lump in my throat. Fate and coincidence was something I really couldn't understand. Because why in the world would I meet her here? And at such a crucial moment?‘’Ivy…’’ there was a hint of shock in her tone. And disbelief was written all over her huge brown eyes. I swallowed hard, pulling away from the nurses that tried to control my previous actions. She didn't look sick, or maybe she was. Her lips were quivering as she called my name, with her hands slowly taking off her sunglasses like always. She held on to her designer bag gently, and I noticed her fists were clenched together. My heart was thumping fast, and my hands kept fidgeting about what to do. Now that my sly stepmother had seen me, I was sure words about my appearance would spread out to Jordan and Aurelia.‘’You're alive,’’ she added, making me even more scared as she tried walking up to me. Those words confirmed

His eyelids were baiting slowly, and his breath got heavier. My stomach churned in excitement that he had regained consciousness, even though I was half a bit scared that he was trying to move too soon because of his condition.‘’Tristan…’’ my voice was warm and filled with pure concern for him. He held on to me tightly, almost as if he was preventing me from running away.I watched his every movement, while I ran a hand through his hair gently, trying to soothe his pains. He was trying to sit up straight, but I could see it was a struggle for him to do so as he kept tugging at his chest with his other hand.‘’Careful,’’ I cooed, trying my best to help him sit up.
