Chapter 915

Author: Celestial Clouds
They called out to Adrian from behind three times in a row, their voices were loud and resonant.

Adrian did not linger and left the prison with Leonard and the others.

Leonard and the others walked out of the prison and saw the light of the day once again. They raised their heads and looked toward the Sun in the sky. They felt that their lives were wonderful and the sun was so warm.

They got into the car and Adrian drove back to Swallowston, not saying a single word during the journey. No one spoke. Leonard and Wilfred attempted to start a conversation, but for some reason, they had no idea how to speak to their nephew who was the legate.

The atmosphere remained cold and quiet for more than two hours.

At last, Faye thought of a topic of conversation and said to Adrian, “We didn’t treat you well over the years, Adrian. We’ll change that from now on. Please don’t harbor what we’ve done in your heart.”

Riley turned her head and glanced at Faye sitting in the backseat.

“If you don’t succeed, I’m sorry but you won’t be getting any benefits from the Xander Group. This is your only chance to turn over a new leaf. If you miss it, you’re out.”Adrian fell silent after stating his final bottom line for the Xanders. Whether it was Leonard, Wilfred, Cedric, or Jacob, they allowed Adrian’s warning to sink into their minds because this was the only chance they would get in their lifetime. They would have nothing else if they missed it.The Xanders thoroughly took the advice to heart.***Adrian stopped speaking to them afterward. He pulled out his phone as he drove to place a call to Wyvern Peak’s headquarters in Azure Creek. As soon as the call was picked up, he said, “Look up a man named Benson Xavier, and call me back in ten minutes with the information.”“Yes, sir.”Riley looked toward Adrian in astonishment and quickly placed her hand on his. She said, “Adrian, are we really going to see him? I…I’ll feel so embarrassed.” Her face blushed scarlet.A

Riley carried a hint of anticipation.Adrian smiled at her. It was perhaps another task that he wanted to complete. He could set his mind at ease over his family matters after Riley was married.***Adrian drove Leonard and the others back to Swallowston. At the same time, the Azure Creek command center made a call to Mount Sol Ecological Farmstead. In Sol County of Solville, Mount Sol stretched out for miles and was composed of dozens of interconnected mountains. The most prominent characteristic of Mount Sol was that the mountains were interconnected but were not especially high. On top of that, the mountains were not made up purely of rocks. Mount Sol was the most well-known mountain peak of all the mountains among the locals. As a result, the village and county were named after this mountain.Meanwhile, the interconnected mountains of Mount Sol had already been developed into the largest breeding farm, agricultural farm, and fruit orchard in Southrive. The farmstead was steadi

Upon saying that, Benson hung up the call. He hastily got to his feet and looked toward his students as he said, “Sage, Marie, Blaise. Pass on the message to all the farmstead’s managers to gather in the meeting room immediately. I have something important to announce.”“What is it, sir?” asked the woman named Marie Yeager out of curiosity.“Get to it, quickly. You’ll know soon enough.”“Yes, Mr. Benson.”The students ran off in haste as Benson inhaled a deep breath and quickly walked out of the herb farm as well. He immediately drove to the main building.Upon arriving at the main building, he went into his office and exhaled a breath of relief when he felt the cool air from the air-conditioning. He pulled out a tissue and wiped away the sweat on his face.Benson almost never left the farmstead. He would show up here every day, missing not even a single day’s work. He was regarded as the hero of Sol County’s two hundred thousand population. Every single person was proud of him.

Marie spoke out against the injustice on Benson’s behalf. There was a rumor that had spread across Sol County about how Benson went to meet his girlfriend’s parents in Swallowston in the past when he was a nobody. He was then kicked out and forced to break up with her.Benson still could not move on from that woman. Many people berated the woman without her knowledge, saying she was no longer a worthy match for him.Upon hearing Marie’s remark, Benson hastily said, “Stop making things up, Marie. Though Riley’s parents aren’t great, she herself is a great woman. Moreover, she’s very gifted. She’d be many times more capable than me if she wasn’t born into that family of hers.”“Whatever you say, my great teacher. Was I wrong to say that? Look at how you’re defending her after just hearing me criticize her a little. Since you can’t move on from her, why don’t you go find her? You’re a millionaire now, so you’re sure to be a worthy partner,” said Marie.Benson heaved a sigh and replied

“That’s right! Mount Sol must be truly recognized for the legate to come here! He’s the highest-level personnel of Wyvern Peak, right?”Everyone became excited. Benson gestured for them to calm down and said smilingly, “Everyone, please control yourselves. We can celebrate after I’m done talking.”“Okay!”“Please go on, Benson!”Everyone stopped speaking.Benson said, “There’s no doubt that the legate’s presence here is a recognition for Mount Sol. If he’s here to supervise our work, it means that we’ve caught Wyvern Peak’s attention. We have to make sure that we’re well prepared to welcome the legate’s arrival.“To prevent unnecessary crowding and trouble, please don’t spread words of the legate’s visit to others for the time being. This is to prevent the people from crowding to catch a glimpse of the legate and resulting in unnecessary congestion.”The crowd nodded as Benson continued, “Make the best use of your time and tidy up everything including the farms and croplands. The next day, Adrian told Samantha and Gloria about his plan to take Riley to meet her first love and drove to the Xander Group. He called Riley when he was at the entrance of the building. She was flustered and said on the call, “Okay, okay. I get it. Why are you being so pushy? I’ll be right down!”It did not take long before Riley walked out of the building. She had on her business suit paired with high heel sandals and her long hair draping across her shoulder as usual. However, her cheeks were tainted with a tinge of pink which made her seem shy. She appeared to be rather embarrassed, perhaps because she was about to meet her first love. Her rounded face did not look like her usual self.“This is what you wear to meet your boyfriend? Can’t you be classier?” Adrian said as he looked her up and down.Riley rolled her eyes and opened the door, her face beet red. She said, “I don’t have a nice figure like your Samantha who looks good in everything she wears, so this is all that I

“We’re here,” Adrian declared.Riley patted her chest and clenched her fists so tightly that her palms were sweaty. At the entrance of the state, Benson was waiting with everyone else. He said when he saw a cross-country vehicle driving over, “That’s Wyvern Peak’s license plate. He’s here. War Legate Draco is here. Get ready, everyone!”Adrian’s car finally arrived at the entrance of the estate and slowly came to a stop as Benson’s voice died away. The people at the scene were excited upon seeing the car. They were finally going to see War Legate Draco in real life. As soon as the car stopped, Benson led a few people to approach.Adrian turned his head toward Riley and asked, “Is that him, Riley?”“Yeah!” Riley answered. She looked out through the car window and saw Benson walking over and said, “That’s him. He looks exactly the same, apart from having aged quite a bit.”Adrian smiled, opened the door, and got out of the car. An excited, loud shout rang out as he got out, “We wel

Adrian left in the company of Marie. He planned on taking a stroll around the farmstead.Benson and Riley stood opposite each other.Benson’s heart was racing ever so slightly after hearing Adrian’s remark earlier. He quietly looked at the woman standing before him and felt all the memories of their time from their university days fill his mind.Benson was at a loss for words under the circumstances. After all, it was he who had broken up with Riley in the past. He was rather reserved upon meeting the love of his life once again.Riley looked at Benson quietly as well. They looked at each other in this manner for a while. The people in the surroundings began to discuss softly.“I recall you being a good talker. Why aren’t you saying upon meeting me? I remember you being very talkative when you were pursuing me,” Riley said as she looked at Benson.Benson chuckled awkwardly and hastily said, “Please come in, Riley.”Riley did not comment further and strode into the estate.Benso

Adrian's expression turned cold as he locked his gaze on the steps ahead. Determination flickered in his eyes. "If reaching the top guarantees a reward, it doesn't have to be me up there. Adrian pondered his situation, his cold gaze reflecting simmering frustration. Yet deep down, he recognized that whoever had designed the staircase was far from ordinary.Creating such a formidable trial required unimaginable power.Even a pinnacle Void Stage expert—or perhaps someone of the Multiply Stage—might bow in reverence before the ladder's creator."He won't last much longer.
