After Samantha spoke, everyone burst out in laughter.

“You came to Alyanz to reason? What’s going on in that head of yours?”

“The business world is like a battlefield. If you lose, you lose. If you can’t deal with that, don’t run a company.”

The crowd jeered.

Celine looked at Samantha with a smug look, taunting her. Everyone there wanted to work with her, so they were willing to do anything to get into her good books.

Samantha knew that there was no way she could win over them, but she wanted the truth from Celine. She said, “Celine, you forced me to sign the agreement to give away my company. I’m here to tell you that I’ll let it slide if you give Bailar back to me. We won’t have to go to court over it.”

“Hahaha!” Celine covered her mouth and laughed so hard that her tears started falling.

Everyone looked at Samantha as if she were a joke.

Celine smiled and said, “Samantha, you’re going to sue me? With what? Do you think you’ll win? I’m going to tell you the truth. Yes, I played you. To me, it was like playing with a dog.”

Celine arrogantly looked down on Samantha.

Samantha took a deep breath. That was the most arrogant thing she had ever heard. But before she could say anything, Celine continued. “Listen, Samantha, even if you tell the legate about this, it won’t help because he’s on my side.”

When Celine heard the news that the legate would be visiting, she never expected that she was so well-known that even he would want to meet her. She reckoned herself to be a big shott in the city too.

Right after she said those words, a voice came from outside, “Celine Blanche, those are some big words. Do you think the legate would side with trash like you?”

Everyone turned their heads.

Daniel, who was in his military uniform, had brought with him twenty soldiers in full gear. The crowd let out an audible gasp.

“It’s General Summers.”

“If he’s here, the legate is probably here too.”

Everyone in Swallowston knew who this man was. The entire place quieted down following his appearance.

When they saw Daniel, Samantha, Rue, and Adaline were surprised. He really showed up?

Samantha remembered that Adrian said Daniel would show up, so she looked curiously at Adrian and realized that he was just calmly standing there.

Something was not right here.

Daniel’s men quickly took over the hall.

Celine had not expected him to suddenly show up and was afraid that he had overheard what she said.

“General Summers, you…you’re here?” Celine said awkwardly as she watched him get closer.

Daniel suddenly slapped her and she fell to the floor. Her face burned and her skin broke.

“Who do you think you are? How dare you claim the legate is on your side,” Daniel admonished her.

Everyone was shocked and did not dare move a muscle. Even Samantha took a few steps back out of shock, but Daniel prevented her from leaving.

Rue and Adaline were shocked too. They thought that Daniel had been too violent by slapping Celine so hard.

Celine was so stunned that she started crying. She got to her feet and held her face. “G-General Summers, I’m sorry for saying that. I’ll apologize to the legate!”

Celine was so ashamed. She would not have said those words if she knew Daniel would show up.

“You don’t deserve anything,” Daniel said icily as he glared at her.

“I…” Celine was dumbfounded and the arrogance and smugness she had when she was speaking to Samantha disappeared. Now, she was just ashamed and fearful.

She never imagined that Daniel would have such a temper.

Daniel turned around and looked at the crowd. “Everyone, the legate is standing among us and is watching all of this unfold.”

When the crowd heard this, they gasped.

Celine was anxious. If the legate was here, that meant he had seen everything that she had done.

Her soul left her body.

Everyone present was excited.

“What? The legate is here?”

“Where? Who is he?”

“Where is he?”

Nobody had met the legate before, so they started looking around.

When Samantha heard this, her mind started spinning. Daniel said that the legate was here, but she knew everyone there, and none of them was the legate. She then recalled what Adrian had said.

No… Impossible!

She snapped out of it and looked toward Daniel who said, “There’s no need to look. He doesn’t want to announce who he is, but he saw everything that happened.

“He has told me to convey a message. If there’s anything you would like to bring up, do it, and he will listen.”

After he said that, everyone looked around. No one spoke and no one moved.

Daniel spoke again, “Are you not brave enough? It’s not every day that the legate shows up, so if you have anything to say, now would be the time.”

Celine started shaking as she looked toward Samantha and tried to warn her. As long as Samantha kept her mouth shut, everything would be fine.

Samantha knew what Celine was trying to say, so she said, “General Summers, Celine Blanche threatened me with the safety of my family so I would give my company, the house of Bailar, to her. I’ve reported this to the authorities many times, but they all sided with her. I hope the legate will help me seek justice.”

Celine panicked. “General, she’s lying!”

Right after that, Daniel slapped her again. “Shut your mouth. You have no say in this.”

“Ms. Samantha, what do you think will be a satisfactory solution to this? The legate will follow your instructions.”

“I just want my company back,” Samantha replied.

Adaline and Rue were nervous because they did not know if the legate would help.

Daniel was there to solve Samantha’s problem. He looked toward Adrian who nodded back at him.

After getting approval, Daniel said, “I’ve gotten a reply from the legate. From today onwards, the Alyanz Chamber of Commerce will be disbanded. All groups and companies under Celine Blanche will be temporarily suspended.”

“Take her away for further investigation.”

I heard that Battle Warrior Lucas will be escorting him. Not everyone has the opportunity to get an invitation.”All the Cowells took a sharp intake of breath. The legate and the Battle Warriors were extremely important figures. Getting an invitation would be the biggest achievement for the Cowells.Nathan said, “Simon, do you think your family can get an invitation for our family too?”Everyone agreed upon hearing this.Hugo said, “Yes, Simon. She was afraid that he would leave again.Rue replied, “He’s making dinner in the kitchen. Suddenly, a man dressed in black rushed in, his steps quick and filled with urgency. He seemed flustered and a bit overwhelmed. “Your Highness, I regret to report that the mission has failed,” he said, bowing. Hearing this, the man on the throne, the crown prince of Ciawales Justin Wagner, was filled with rage. “Both teams failed? How could this be? Does that girl have some extraordinary protector by her side?” Justin asked furiously, “Wasn’t it thoroughly investigated? The strongest among her entourage was only at the later Divine Stage. How could the mission fail? Even Edgar had failed too?"Trembling as he knelt, the man dared not raise his head. “Yes, Your Highness. We found Edgar's corpse alone in a desolate area." Justin’s expression darkened. He hadn’t expected Renee to have such a powerful ally. "Very well. Call

Adrian’s gaze sharpened as he replied, “Is that so? Just because we’re at the same level doesn’t mean we’re equals. Let’s keep moving. It seems you’ve had quite a turbulent journey.”Renee looked at Adrian with a helpless expression because his words were undeniably true. Her journey had indeed been full of endless obstacles, especially with the Crown Prince attempting to kill her. "Are we still heading to Ciawales?” Renee asked.Despite the dangers, Adrian still intended to go to Ciawales, leaving Renee puzzled. She even felt a bit hesitant and considered turning back. As she considered it, Adrian casually replied, “Why wouldn’t we? I said I’d get you back safely, and I’ll see it through. No one can stop us.” His tone was calm, filled with a kind of unwavering confidence.Renee looked at Adrian with a mix of shock and admiration, not understanding why he was so resolute. There were easier paths to take, yet he chose the difficult one. She couldn’t quite grasp Adrian’s determina

Edgar's eyes widened in utter disbelief as he looked at Adrian. He couldn’t fathom how Adrian could be so powerful. Before he could fully grasp what was happening, the force of Adrian’s sword and fists were already crashing into his body. “H-How are you this strong?" Edgar stammered, finally realizing how ignorant he was. Confronted with Adrian’s swordsmanship, he felt all his skills were weak and insignificant. However, there was no answer for him. Boom!A wave of violent power erupted. Adrian didn’t relent in his assault. After all, Edgar had insisted on challenging him to a life-and-death duel. Therefore, Adrian saw no reason to hold back. The Soul Devouring Sword transformed into countless streaks of energy, each one piercing through Edgar’s body. "Aahhh!!" Edgar’s scream filled the air as he felt his strength rapidly slipping away. Desperately, he roared, “No! I won’t die like this!” However, there was nothing he could do other than wait for a merciless end. In his final

Observing the scene before him, Adrian smiled calmly and said, “Trying to defend yourself? I already told you this is the end of the line for you. Why don’t you believe me?” Edgar was furiously swinging his sword, unwilling to believe Adrian could deliver a killing blow. He felt confident he could block all of Adrian’s attacks. But just as Adrian finished speaking, a wave of chaotic power erupted around them. His energy surged, making the very air tremble. The entire space seemed to quiver, and Adrian’s gaze grew sharper as he said, “This ends now.” The dozen or so Soul Devouring Swords rushing toward Edgar vanished into thin air, leaving only a single, true Soul Devouring Sword to appear right above his head. This blade radiated an intense, dark energy while hurtling down toward Edgar with deadly precision. Edgar was horrified and desperately tried to evade, but it was too late. Crash! The raging Soul Devouring Sword struck down, crushing with immense force. Edgar was paral

“How is this possible?” Edgar watched in sheer horror as Adrian’s sword seemed to shatter the very fabric of space. The scene unfolding before him was too strange to believe, yet it was happening right before his eyes. The blade seemed to tear through space, arriving ominously behind Edgar, who was left in utter disbelief. Desperate, Edgar raised his own sword to block the incoming attack. Clang! Clang! Clang! The impact echoed as Edgar’s sword was violently knocked aside, sent flying in an instant. The sheer force was staggering, and Edgar’s face darkened as he observed the terrifying power of Adrian’s sword. Ordinary swords couldn’t cut through the air like this, but Adrian’s blade proved it could. It was only then Edgar realized that Adrian’s power was on a whole other level. Struggling to comprehend, he demanded, “How can you be so strong?” Adrian simply smiled. “It’s nothing special. You call yourself invincible, yet you’ve never seen the true world outside. Adrian looked at Edgar and smiled calmly. "You already experienced one sword strike. Now, let's try another. I want you to fully understand your weakness." Adrian’s calm taunts were a blatant provocation, showing utter disdain for Edgar.Furious, Edgar glared at Adrian. He knew Adrian was pushing his limits with such contempt."You might think your strength is impressive, but if I go all out, you're nothing more than an ant," Edgar said. He was confident that, despite Adrian’s apparent power, he was still far beneath him. Adrian responded with a slight, cool smile. While Edgar had the credentials to speak this way, he was underestimating Adrian. After all, Adrian’s strength was formidable. If he unleashed his full power, Edgar wouldn’t be able to withstand it.To an outsider, Edgar’s strength might appear to be on par with Adrian's, but Adrian’s power transcended that comparison by a tier. The moment he went all-out, Edgar wouldn’t stand a chance. Nearby, Renee looked on in su

Edgar was stunned, completely at a loss. Despite his formidable strength, he was simply thrown aside by Adrian.Adrian asked, "What’s wrong? Am I too strong for you? How does it feel?"The killing intent in Adrian's gaze intensified, freezing Edgar on the spot. Edgar clenched his sword and prepared to strike again. He couldn’t believe the difference in power.
