Adrian heard Mosi’s words but ignored him and fixed his gaze instead on Pilan, a murderous glint in his narrowed eyes. "Sir Pilan, you owe me an explanation."

Pilan's closed eyelids remained steady, but his thin hands trembled slightly. His voice, ancient and indifferent, replied, "What explanation do you seek?"
