Chapter 1577

Author: Celestial Clouds
The trailers stopped at the village borders, and everyone formed a defensive line around their trailers upon getting out.

Adrian walked into the village, with Cian following behind him.

"Send ten men into the village and search for survivors. They should look out for resources like food, water, weapons, etc. After twenty minutes, they are to return, and I want them all to be on the alert while searching. Everyone else shall remain by their trailers in case we get jumped," Adrian ordered.

Cian began making the arrangements. A team of men entered the village, going through every house in search of survivors. Aside from heading to Novemton, Adrian also wanted to save the survivors he found along the way.

Rozi stayed behind with the others at the trailers. Since she and Adrian were the strongest fighters in the group, it was best they defended separate positions instead of sticking together.

Monster carcasses were scattered all over and many houses had been destroyed. There were b

Either whatever she was protecting had been taken away or was still hiding inside the house somewhere. Adrian was unable to determine what happened as the house was a complete mess."Is anyone here?" Adrian softly asked, only to be greeted by silence."Sir, I doubt there's anyone left here," a young man next to Adrian said.Adrian gestured for him to remain silent. The young man shut his mouth, while Adrian stood there paying attention to even the slightest noise. Sure enough, he could hear someone breathing. He was positive there was someone in the house.Following the sound, Adrian got down on his knees. Running his fingers along the floor, he found a slit in the floorboards wide enough for his fingers to slip through and pull them up. Lo and behold, he found a nine-year-old little girl balled up underneath the boards. The child was hiding in a hole that had been dug up out of desperation. It was just barely big enough for her to fit inside. The girl's mother quickly closed the

Adrian carried Miraya out of the house, while Cian and the others searched the rest of the village. Unfortunately, there were no other survivors, nor were there any resources. However, they were all happy when they saw Miraya. To them, it was a miracle to find even one survivor."Sir, we've searched the whole village," Cian said as he and Oliver walked over.Adrian placed Miraya on the floor and said, "Rozi, take care of her and give her some food."Rozi was the only woman in Adrian's group, and Miraya looked a lot less wary when she saw her. The little girl felt as though she was looking at her mother when she saw Rozi's beautiful smile. After Rozi brought Miraya into her trailer, Adrian asked, "How did it go? Did you find anything else?"Oliver shook his head. "Everything has been taken. There are corpses in some of the houses. They were shot to death. There are also signs of monster damage. It’s clear the village engaged the monsters in battle. After that, some people began to

Rozi quickly held Miraya in her arms and softly said, "It's okay. I'm here."Miraya calmed down a little, feeling safer now that she was in Rozi's embrace. After a moment, she said in a hoarse voice, "Many villagers disappeared, including my papa. We were playing, and suddenly… I don't know what happened. Many monsters showed up afterward and killed many of the villagers. Mommy was really scared and dug a hole for me to hide in.""What happened after that?" Rozi asked. "The men in the village went to kill the monsters, but they were injured. They managed to kill the monsters, but another group of men with guns came and killed them. Mommy told me to hide in the hole. The bad men killed her." This incident had become a trauma Miraya would never forget. Adrian felt his anger rising after hearing her story. He controlled it and patted Miraya's head. "I promise I’ll make the people who hurt your mother pay."Miraya did not know who Adrian was nor what he wanted to do. However, she

Cian personally picked twenty young and strong men. They shouldered their weapons, and after some instructions from Adrian, they headed out for Gold Haven. As a former legate who commanded millions of soldiers, eliminating the demons within Gold Haven was a piece of cake for Adrian. He even had a plan in mind, including how they were to retaliate when they were attacked.Adrian split his group into two teams. He led the first team to Gold Haven in a frontal approach on foot. Oliver was leading the second team with the trailers. They would maintain two kilometers at all times, with Rozi as their powerhouse. The people at Gold Haven would instantly notice the trailers using their binoculars, but they would not notice Adrian and his team at the front. Adrian gave out the order and moved forward, splitting up with Cian and the others. However, instead of going through the main roads, Adrian took the forest route nearby. Meanwhile, the trailers drove slowly through the streets, maintain

Rozi then said, "Garp, I want you to focus on protecting yourself if anything bad happens. Staying alive is your top priority."Garp nodded. The trailers were getting closer to Gold Haven. ***"Sir, we're two kilometers out. Should we continue?" Oliver asked, driving in the frontmost trailer as he calculated the distance.Cian said, "We'll enter their territory if we go any further. They haven’t reacted to our arrival, sir.""Sound the horns.”"Our horns?""Understood!" Honk! Honk! Honk!!! The frontmost trailer blared its horns. A few men who were guarding Gold Haven's entrance were shocked and snapped out of their naps. They immediately turned toward the direction of the sound and saw lights coming from six trailers, driving toward them. "Oh sh*t! Where did they come from?!""T-Tell the boss, now!""Sir, sir! There are six trailers headed our way! They're about three kilometers away from us!" a guard yelled through his communicator. Meanwhile, a man in his fifties

Anatoly's instructions were passed down to his over two thousand men. They were all wielding weapons looted from the Department—weapons that made them invincible. Under the night sky, five hundred men exited Gold Haven. But being a haphazardly formed army, they were inexperienced in battle. They were so unorganized that their footsteps could be heard as they headed toward the six trailers with guns in hand.Five hundred armed men were a force to be reckoned with in this chaotic world. “They're here," Adrian said, hiding behind a large tree.Cian and the other twenty men saw the army as well, and everyone held their breaths. Adrian instructed, "We'll move once they've passed us. Speed up the trailers, Oliver. I want you to charge at full speed once we've opened fire.""Yes, sir.” "Yes, sir.” Everyone prepared themselves.Anatoly's men excitedly hurried out of the city. After all, their leader had announced that they could have the beautiful women they found. In the past, t

"They'll probably send reinforcements. I want everyone out of the trailers. Hide in the forest. Rozi, we're going to show them what we’re made of.""You got it." Rozi passed Miraya to Garp. "Take care of her for me. I'll be right back." "Be careful, Rozi," Garp said.Rozi nodded, while everyone got out of the trailer and retreated into the forest. Adrian said, "Cian, Padraig, you guys retreat too. Remember, there might be monsters around, so stay sharp. Get to the forest and form a circle. Send out a few men to stand watch for any monsters.""Roger.”"Yes, sir.”“You and Rozi stay safe, sir," Oliver added. Adrian silently waited by the road. ***Anatoly received word of what happened.“Sir, we have a problem... All five hundred of our men were ambushed and are dead…""What?!" Anatoly was instantly infuriated when he heard this. "Who are we up against?" he shouted."I don't know. We can’t see anything as it’s dark out. They seem to be well-prepared. What should we do, s

Lights from two swords burst out, and the enemy army yelled as their lives were claimed one by one. Without hesitation, Adrian took them down as they came. He knew these people would only be obstructions during the chaos. Only by killing them all would he be able to unite the nation. Even though there were more than a thousand men, none of them could see the two immortals coming. In a few minutes, the entire army was eliminated. Blood dripped from Adrian and Rozi's swords. Adrian struck a glorious victory pose. Stepping through the corpses, he looked toward Gold Haven and said, "Full speed ahead. We're entering the city.""Yes, sir!" someone responded through the communicator, and the group entered the city. The Battle Warrior Department was the most unique building in the city, and Adrian determined that the enemy had chosen it to be their headquarters since it was still in one piece. Thus, he headed straight for the building the moment he entered the city. "Rozi, take the other
