The mindlind hit Rhett like a ton of bricks, hearing his voice he felt his chest give away. It took him several seconds to even process what he said. Box what the heck was he talking about half brother? Rhett was confused as to what he said registered.

“Are you ok?” Rhett sent to him, even though Aldric had stated he was ok.

He needed to hear his voice again. He needed to hear him say it again. He waited; his skin crawling he had stopped breathing waiting for Aldric to mindlink him back.

“I’m ok. I’m working on a way to get out. You need to listen to me though do not open that box when it gets there. Just leave it alone and come up with a plan. This Calvin guy wants you. He’s holding a grudge from your father abandoning him. He wants your pack and your land. Do you dare give him anything.” Aldric said his voice was strong and confident.

Rhett smiled at how he was still him even when being held hostage. If it was just him, Rhett would give up anything to have Aldric here, safe.

Count down: Adric stood in front of the desk trying to think of a plan. He saw the satchel of knives on the table. He could use one of the knives to cut through his ties. He winced as he grabbed a hold of the knife trying to position his hands just right to hold it. The wolfsbane in the ropes stung as more seeped out as he moved. He positioned the knife between his hands and pressed it into the ropes. He used his fingers to move the blade up and down. Slowly but surely the ropes frayed and as they did he was able to apply pressure with his wrist. The ropes snapped away, falling to the ground. He felt the wolfsbane pull leave him and he felt Xyler connect back to him completely. What's the plan? Xyler asked, his voice full of anger. I’m thinking. Aldric said back. He needed something big, he knew Rhett was coming and if he could delay them here then the attack would be more of a surprise. He looked down at the desk and saw the map. A smile rolled across his lips as he was lookin

He needed to make sure this fire was going to spread quickly/ He pulled bedding off the nearby bed and dragged it near the puddle of oil. He knocked over a chair and spread some papers about. He grabbed the lighter and stack of papers for the night stand next to the bed. He set the papers on fire and tossed them down into the oil. The fire came to life engulfing the room. Aldric ducked out as the tent began to smoke. Aldric had to be strategic about this; he needed them scrambling in all different directions. The noise of fighting caught their ears. Aldric saw Winter’s ear flicker. He could tell she was debating with herself on whether she should leave Aldric or not. Aldric sighed and nodded with his head for her to go. She didn't move. Luke had already started moving but Winter was still hanging behind. A mixture of guilt and not wanting to lose him again washed over Winter and Waverly.“Go.” He ordered them, his voice strong and stern. Outlet: Aldric found himself pacing the floor in Rhett’s room. He welcomed the silence and the time alone. His mind was plagued with the thoughts of the red wolf Satine. Rhett had to wrap a few things and normally Aldric wanted to be involved but the growing weight in his chest was too much for him to handle. He took advantage of being alone. Red wood was three hours away, maybe he could leave in the middle of the night and make it back before dawn. What could she possibly want to show or tell him? Waverly. His mind said as if it was the biggest betrayal of his life. How could he go speak to Satine knowing she was the one who killed Derrick. His beta, Waverly’s mate. His guilt was tearing him apart. If she didn't have anything useful, he would drag her back and give her to Waverly. ‘If you keep pacing like that we are going to need new carpet there.” Rhett’s voice entered the room. The sound of it scared him and excited him all at once. Aldric stopped pacing and looked up at him

I'll just do it again.” Luke said the words falling out of his mouth in a hurry. ‘You need to wake up.” Rhett said, putting his hand on Aldric’s chest. “He’’l wake up, we will figure this out.” Luke said firmly and began flipping through Satine’s book at the same time as throwing more wolfsbane into the bowl. Aldric placed both hands on Aldric’s chest and closed his eyes, focusing on healing thoughts. He pretends he is pulling the poison out of Aldric’s body with his h

Any minute now she would be able to complete the ritual. The moon light was tinted a blood red representing the blood moon. Aldric had begun to act aggressively, his body twitching and flexing like he was trying to fight something. His skin sizzled against the wolf bane soaked ropes holding him in place. The liquid should have kept him completely under and separate from his wolf. She watched as his wolf claws emerged from the tips of his fingers. Preparation:The darkness was calming. It was comforting, there was nothing there, no pain, no problems. I was empty and the emptiness calmed him. He wasn't a stranger to this place. He had spent years in and out of the darkness. Day and nights when the cell he was kept in became too much, when xyler couldn't handle another blow. It was Aldric who normally sent them here, Xyler was always ready to fight. He was never the one who made them go into the darkness. He could feel him detached from him. He was there in the darkness but blocking their connection. It was usually the other way around. He remembered a night when he wanted to let it all go. He shut down and let himself slip in the blackness and hid there so well that Xyler couldn't find him. He remembered hearing his howls echo around the silence. It was days before Xyler found him. He remembered how Xyler buried his head into him, begging for Aldric not to give up. To try once more. Aldric let out a breath he knew he was going
