Leonardo felt the earth shake beneath him.

“It’s a placenta abruption case. The placenta has detached from the uterine walls. This situation is both harmful for mother and children. She’s bleeding profusely and the babies can’t get oxygen”, she said.

Leonardo was too stunned to speak.

“How could this have happened?”, he had a hard time processing the news.

“Shock must have caused it. I’m sorry, Don. We have to carry out a caesarean section on your wife. Otherwise, she won’t survive. Neither will the babies”, she said.
