Chapter Twenty

Savage

Waking up with a groan, I realize that I am not alone in bed as my arm hits a warm body.

As my eyes flutter open, I am met with the sight of Adrian's sleeping form beside me, his chest rising and falling in a steady rhythm. The events of the previous night flooded back to me, and for a moment, I simply lay there, studying the way his eyelashes cast delicate shadows on his cheeks, the way his lips curve ever so slightly in his sleep.

I shift slightly, causing him to stir awake. His eyes slowly blink open before focusing on me with a mixture of concern and tenderness. “Good morning, Savage,” he murmurs, his voice husky with sleep.

“Morning,” I reply softly, feeling a rush of warmth at the sight of him so close. The bond between us hums with a quiet intensity, reminding me of the connection that now binds us together.

Adrian reaches out and brushes a strand of hair away from my face, his touch gentle against my skin. “How are you feeling?”
