Chapter Forty-Seven

Savage

“Alena is not dead!” I barely hear whispered, waking me from a dead sleep.

“What?” I ask in confusion.

“Alena is not dead!” the voice repeats, clearer this time, its tone filled with urgency and conviction. I exchange a bewildered look with Levi, Adrian, and Blake as they jerk awake, each of us grappling with the impossible hope that begins to unfurl in our hearts.

“Save her from the pain!” It is cried out from the ghost that is pointing to the forest.

Without hesitation, a surge of adrenaline courses through my veins as I process the ghostly plea. The forest looms ominously beyond our home, its dark silhouette of a stark contrast against the night sky. Without a word, Levi, Adrian, Blake, and I exchange glances filled with determination and trepidation. We know what we have to do.

As we venture into the depths of the woods, an otherworldly chill hangs in the air, sending shivers down our spines. The ghostly figure leads the way, its ethereal form flickering in and out of sigh
