Chapter 6: A Dangerous Game.
“Do you have any idea who must be behind this?” Landon questioned his P. A, who had been standing in one position, awaiting his boss' command and instructions.
“No, sir!” He replied politely, getting Landon furious with such a response.
Landon can't seem to wrap his head around the whole thing. He couldn't seem to fathom out who must have hacked his account.
Landon knew every good cyber security expert in this country, and he wasn't sure they could do this to him. They were familiar with him and respected him greatly.
If they were really behind this, he believed they would have made away with a much larger sum of money.
“Think, Owen. Do you know any upcoming cyber security? Probably someone who's good with technology?”
Landon questioned him again, determined to catch the culprit today and teach them a lesson.
“ I'm not really sure, but I heard there's this triplets attending your school, they're good with technology. What if someone made plans with them to hack your account?”
Owen suggested, making his mind go wild immediately.
“Triplets?” He repeated. “How old are they?” He demanded, his tone filled with curiosity.
“I don't know, sir! Please give me time, I'll do a background check on them and get back to you immediately.”
*******
That day, Landon went home after work. He couldn't hide the anger in him, it was showing through his actions. Gianna could see right through him.
“ I have been waiting for you to come back!” Gianna, his wife, rasped in at him.
“And why's that?” His tone was harsh and serious. Far from friendly.
Gianna didn't mind. She was used to his tone. She was used to that.
“ It's about Luke, our son!” His eyes widened in shock, and he turned to Face her.
“Luke is being bullied by some kids in school!!” She murmured exhaustedly.
“And why can't he bully them back?”
Landon hated it when Gianna brought matters like this to him.
The last time, she approached him for the same reason, and begged him to expel the kids bullying Luke. Now, the same thing.
“You know you can't make me expel any kids in that school just because our son is being bullied. Maybe you should teach him how to stand up for himself next time.”
Landon was already annoyed, he didn't want to continue with the conversation so he stood up, attempting to walk away when she made a statement that pulled his attention.
“Triplets!” She murmured at him, her eyes flaring in anger.
“They're three of them. Not just one person. Luke is being bullied by two boys and a girl, who seem to be triplets.”
Landon leaned towards her and sat her down.
“What do you know about them?” Tell me everything.
Gianna was stunned at how his mood quickly changed.
“From what I heard, they've won many awards in the school, they're brilliant and geniuses when it comes to technology.”
London's heart skipped a beat immediately. His thoughts drifted to different directions.
If what she's saying it's true, then he needed to get hold of them, before someone else did. He believes he needs them.
“And I believe they're the ones behind my stolen twenty million dollars. Which disappeared overnight.”
Landon said, making Gianna heart to race.
“How? How come? How did that happen and when?
She needs to meet with them. Gianna believes she needs their help, before her secret comes out.
*****
“Thank you so much mother,” the kids said joyfully as they made their way home.
Avery had taken them shopping like she had promised. She bought everything they needed, including a bicycle they've been requesting
They all brought out their ice-cream and pizza, and attempted to eat when Ethan made a suggestion.
“Mother, why don't we move out of this place? I believe we would be able to rent a nice house with some of the money.”
Avery almost choked on the drink she was sipping at Ethan's sudden suggestion.
She couldn't help but wonder what had come over him to make Such a suggestion.
“Don't you like this place?” Avery was bothered. Perhaps there's someone threatening them in this place
“ I support what Ethan said, mother!”
Avery knew this wasn't a random suggestion. Something must be going on for Ella to even support his words.
“I support them too, mother! Let's move out of here.”
A lump formed in Avery's heart as she found it hard to continue eating. She had lost her appetite, realising the triplets might be hiding something from her.
“Ethan, Evan, and Ella!” She called out their names, her heart racing in strong rhyme.
“Is there something you're not telling me?” The triplets rolled their eyes at each other and nodded their heads.
“No, Mother!” They chorused in unison. At the same time.
“I do hope you guys aren't being threatened in this neighborhood. You can always tell me if anyone threatens you.” She assured them.
The triplets were worried that they would start paying for their crimes.
They feared that billionaire Landon might have traced them. And if that happened, they didn't want to put their innocent mother in trouble.
They just want to move to a faraway place before that happens.
Avery thought about what they said and continued eating, Perhaps it wasn't really a big deal for them to make such suggestions.
****
Avery's phone buzzed, bringing her back to reality.
“Avery, please, I need your service.” It was a message from one of her clients_ a man.
Avery stared at the message for a while and sighed. Her instinct was telling her not to go, but she knew this man was her highest paying client.
It seems like he had fought with someone again and he needed her to treat his wounds. the last time she went over to treat him, he was brutally beaten beyond recognition.
Even then, he had tried to pull a sneaky move on her.
Avery didn't want to go back to her work now ,but the conversation with the triplets made her realize she needed more money, if not, they would run out, and she didn't want that to happen.
“I will be going out to do something. Please take care of yourself while I'm away.” Avery headed to her room, changed, took her treatment box, and went straight to the road to hail a cab.
After thirty minutes, Avery arrived at the estate where he lived. She was about to step out of the car when she spotted a familiar face,
The person was just a few miles away from her, but she was certain that if they turned, they would definitely Spot her as well.
Avery quickly paid the cab driver and hurried in the opposite direction_ only to come face to face with Gianna, who was heading the same way.
“What a coincidence,” Gianna murmured, but Avery heard her, she ignored it and continued walking.
“Avery!” Gianna called again.
Avery was forced to halt her footsteps this time and turned to look at her with a smirk.
“What do you want?” Avery demanded, grinning at her.
Gianna examined her from head to toe, then burst into laughter, as if she had found something amusing. Avery’s cheap clothing and the box treatment in her hands.
Which made Gianna believe that she still hasn't been able to fight poverty.
“ You know one thing I hate about poor people?” She questions with a contemptuous smile.
“ is that, they're comfortable where they are. Don't they want to take risks in order to become rich,” she said.
“Indeed, the rich keep getting rich, while the poor keep getting poorer. What a life!”
Avery swallowed her tears slowly, which threatened to fall down from her eyes. She couldn't even feel hurt and offensive with her words.
“Goodbye Avery,” Gianna sneered at her, about to walk away when Avery pulled her back in anger.
she wasn't done with her.
“Is funny,” Avery said, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
“ I doubt Landon is still with you. that man is too smart not to see your true character.”
Avery said with a mischievous grin. Hoping that would furious her but it didn't.
Gianna scoffed.
“You wish, bitch. Landon is still my husband. And luckily, we were later blessed with a male child after you mocked us with a ‘disabled’ baby.”
Avery burst into laughter at her words and nodded her head.
“You wish! The doctor made a wrong diagnosis. I tried explaining everything to you but you exploded and walked away before I could.”
Gianna's eyes widened.
“I didn't deliver a disabled child. I gave birth to triplets.”
Gianna's eyes widened in shock, her mouth gasping open as she tried to process what she just heard.
No way.
She could only hope it wasn't true.
“You're lying!” Gianna couldn't believe it. No way!
Her thoughts were going wild at the moment. She hopes it's not what it is.
“You know I can collect everything back from you right?”
Avery threatened, walking around her with a smirk on her face.
Perhaps, it's time for her to destroy Gianna's life and make her suffer, the same way she did to her.
Chapter 7: “Even if what you're saying is true, you're not the mother of the triplets, The triplets are our children. You were just a surrogate mother.” Gianna said, with a shaking breath. *Nope! You got it all wrong! Avery stops walking around her and station herself in one place. Now it's time to break the unpleasant news, which might send waves of electricity into her body, thereby resulting in fainting. “Remember, we were to do gestational surrogacy, but unfortunately, your genetics weren't compatible with him, and if the doctor had proceeded with it, it would have led to a fall operation. So the doctor requested we did a traditional surrogacy, where my egg was used with your husband sperms, which means the triplets are fucking mine”, she said with a contempt. “And the child you claim you have today, belongs to another man.” She added. Gianna felt a heavy wave in her chest, a sinking feeling overwhelming her. Her whole body shuts down for some seconds and later starts fu
Chapter 8: A web Of Lies Gianna sighed deeply as she stepped out of the car and headed straight to the house. It was already late. She had spent almost the entire day with Ranon, her baby father. Enjoying a romantic time with him. Gianna froze when she saw her husband seated in the sitting room. She had no idea someone was there. “Where are you coming from?” Landon questions his tone with a whisper. He was calm, which reassured Gianna that he hadn't suspected anything. “That's strange and sudden. Are you now interested in my daily affairs?” Gianna was concerned, even though they were a married couple and he had the right to ask her about her whereabouts, it still felt strange to her. All those years of marriage, he had never once cared about her. “I am your husband. Of course ,I have every right to know your daily affairs!” He shrugged at her. His tone was calm and soothing. Which was unlike him. Landon looked at her and shook his head in disappointment. “If you're tire
Chapter 9 : Seduction And Silence A wave of dread washed over her as the triplets walked towards her. “Good morning, ma'am!” The triplets all greeted in unison, wondering why the woman had called them. “How can we help you?” Ella shrugged at the woman, her voice firm and steady. They had never been on Good terms with her son, so why had she called them? Gianna lost control of herself immediately, she couldn't breathe. She felt suffocated by the sight of the triplets. She was speechless. Their pointed noses, their eyes, everything_ it was the same as Landon, her husband. Gianna forced herself to regain composure, letting out a fake smile before facing them. “That's right!” She murmured with a smile, running her hand through Ella's hair. “Luke actually reported something to me “ Their faces change immediately, shifting from their normal expression to one of disdain “That we bullied him?” Evan questioned and Gianna nodded her head. “But I'm not here to scold any of you.
Chapter 10_ His step brother Every day, Landon regretted his decision. He regretted being used by his father for his own selfish gains. If everything had not been based on an arranged marriage, he would never have married Gianna, a woman for whom he felt absolutely nothing. He had thought that perhaps, with time, he would grow to like her, but that had never happened. Her character was simply unbearable. It irritated him to no end and made him regret his choice even more. But could he really be to blame? He had been just a twenty three years old young man when he had been forced to make such life altering decisions. If he had been older and wiser then, he would not have allowed his family to influence him into making such a terrible mistake by marrying Gianna. Even after twelve years, he still did not truly know the kind of person Gianna was. ****** Landon studied her movements carefully and could see how terrified she was. Her entire body trembled tremendously. He coul
Chapter 11: Diary of a chef In the small portable dinner table, Omelette was served on the table, and there seated four figures. Avery and the triplets. “Can't believe we're finally eating this again.” Ella exclaimed happily. Because she could during the time her mother was broke , she hardly makes omelette and even if she does, there's no meat, neither chicken. It was always eggs, fried with butter and with vegetables. But today, the story was different .Assuming they didn't make that decision that day, they would have still been living in poverty. Ella was glad Ethan came up with that thought. And she was grateful they were geniuses if not it wouldn't have been possible. “Ummm, this is so sweet!” Evan exclaimed, sipping the glass of juice in his mouth. “Mother, you are the best chef ever!” Ethan compliments, munching more of the omelette in his mouth. Ella's mood changed abruptly the moment a thought came to her mind. There's no way she wouldn't tell her mother about this one.
Chapter 12: Encounter Anora, Smith's wife who was walking by at that moment happened to hear the sound screams of her girlfriend who seems to have been hit with something for her to shout like that. She traced the sounds, which led her to the kitchen where she witnessed a stranger pulling the ear of her girlfriend. She didn't even ask what happened before pushing Avery away. Her skin crawled in anger when she realized who Avery was. She was an ordinary chef, also a commoner who had no right to do what she just did. “I will kill you alive!!” Gianna wasn't satisfied. She wanted to beat Avery to death right now and right here. She couldn't tolerate the disrespect she just showed her. Gianna pushed Avery around the kitchen and when Avery noticed she might break one or two things in the process of running away from Gianna, she decided to stop running and face Gianna. Perhaps this is the time for her to repay Gianna back for all the suffering she made her pass through. Anora on the ot
Chapter 13: Behind close doors Gianna was grateful for knowing Anora. She was the type of friend one would wish to have. Just imagine how she saved her by pretending to faint and pulling everyone's attention right away. She probably owns Anora for what she just did for her. It's only a true friend that could pull through for you in a state like this. Anora was taken to the living room and in the next few minutes, the doctor arrived. And fortunately, she was all alone with Gianna by the time he came. So they were able to bribe him into giving a fake Report. The topic they were discussing before quickly dies away the moment Anora was taken away. They were all seated in panic, patiently waiting for the doctor's report to know what was wrong with her. Some minutes later, the doctor walked in with her. “How's she a doctor?” Three different voices asked at the same time. “Fortunately, it's nothing serious. She was just stressed and…..” he paused his speech, trying to take a breath b
Chapter 14: Gianna crisis Hayley knew her friendship was at risk right now and she would do anything just to save it. She wouldn't want to lose her high school friends all because of a mistake made by her husband, so she would do anything just to keep the friendship. “Gianna please, it's not what you think.” Hayley knows she needs to explain more things to her and make her understand before she walks away right now. She tries to touch her but Gianna doesn't agree. She gave her this dangerous disgusting irritating look. “Don't fucking lay your hands on me again. Hayley!!” Gianna blurted at her, her tone laced with seriousness. “You had the option to make your husband save my reputation by not telling my own side of the story but you didn't. So don't talk to me. Gianna let out those words with a murmur. She wouldn't want others to hear the last words she just spoke. “Our friendship ends here. Don't ever fucking call my line.” Gianna uttered, she stood up, attempting to walk away
Chapter 15: Gianna's Fate “!!” She called with a fainter voice. Her spirits leave her body. “Ranon, are you there?” Her voice was shaking, her hands trembling together as she struggled to carry her child who was crying. He was hungry. Gianna was devastated, frustrated and tired of everything that had been happening to her. She's not certain she would be able to handle these two heartbreaks from them. She can't just lose the two important people in her life at once. “Ranon, please talk to me!!” She pleaded with a whimpering sound. Her nose is running with mucus. “ Seems like you're really dumb like she said.” Ranon's voice finally echoes from the phone, after a while of him being silent. “Can't you see I don't want to talk to you? What the fuck is your problem?” Ranon bellowed at her through the phone, scolding her like a child. “Please, I just want your house key. I need to prepare something for me and your son. I am famished. I just need somewhere to rest my head…. “Unfortu
