Amante POV

I called on Joaquin and Senyora Luisita. I asked for information about Cape Narciso. I will need the help of Alpha Mayor in my plans.

“Cape Narciso? I just heard that place. It was announced on the new in the television that the frequent earthquakes here are due to the periodic volcanic eruptions there. Some have also reported refuge from there last week after the latest eruption.”

“The volcano erupted? How strong?”

I felt uncomfortable about the news. If it was true, then the pack stationed in there must be in danger. It’s a disaster!

“I think just enough to evacuate some people from there. I know there are some who refused to leave. Maybe the situation there was not so bad.”

I was silent for a while and don't know what to say. Allyssa held my hand.

“Would there some problem, Amante?”

Amante POVWe were invited by Alpha Mayor to stay a day in the island. I asked about the safety of the pack. I heard from Joaquin that the human refuges knew nothing about the werewolves. They thought the village at the base of the mountain was indegenous people and were accustomed to the freak outs of the volcano. The disturbances of the volcano have somehow became advantageous to the werewolves' pack. Ordinary human beings were terrified by the intense disaster that happens several times daily. As of the time we stayed on the island, there were less than a hundred mortals scouring in the area. Those were the people who were studying and observing the temperamental volcano. They pose no threat to the surviving pack.“Alpha King Amante, Luna Allyssa, this is my only son, Kelvin. He is only ten years old but trained enough already. He’s best in combat among the pack warriors and

Amante POVAllyssa’s eyes glows white all of a sudden. Her body trembles hysterically for a moment until she stood frozen on her place between my arms. She feels so cold and the her breathing was frantic. Her exhausted appearance doesn’t seemed to be hers. I first thought she was being exorcised. I have never seen her like this before.“Allyssa, what’s happening? Answer me!”I shake her body to wake her senses up, and I felt relieved when she looked at me like she heard me calling out to her.“Calm down, Amante! I am on a connecting trance with Irna. I can see through her eyes, have the sensation of what she feels, and listen to everything she heard. She’s now being seized by the wereguards at the borders of Verte Monde.”Allyssa held unto my arms and kisses me. Amante POVMaziar fell helplessly on the frozen ground of the Antillia Forest, holding up the lean body of Roman on top of him. Their awkward position made them stacked up with each other for another series of seconds before coming to their senses. They hastily tore each other’s body away from one another and swipe their torsos foolishly as if they were caught on a fire.I could not help but laugh out loud at their fanciful act of embarrassing themselves like fools. I have actually forgotten for a moment there, that I was not on my own body but someone else’s, and it was the female Omega who had committed treason and murdered my gentle Marina. The miserable appearance of Marina’s macerated body flashes inside my mind all of a sudden. I choked on my own breath and that halted my maniacal laugh. Maziar and Roman subsequently glared at me with their piercing eyes. I would hav

Amante POVAfter the mild earthquake that left my wife concerned about the situation of the island, there were several weaker aftershocks. The earth tremor seemed to got tired and rested for a while. Alpha Mayor stood next me, his face were gloomy and I think it was understandable. This place was supposed to be the haven for werewolves like us. Our sustenance of warm-blooded meat from the abundant and dynamic ecosystem of this area was crucial to our comfortable existence more that just for the mere survival of our pathetic lives. We did endure living at the barren, frozen land of Antarctica and depended wholly on the marine animals that were available in the place for more than twenty years. The Irati Nardus Pack grew stronger from there, with the new generation of pups that were trained to survive at the harsh environment. This place, the island of Cape Narciso was our last threshold.Allyssa wa

Amante POVThis wretched human being must be begging for his early death. He dared to point a gun on Alpha Mayor’s face and has his threatening smirk that was plastered on his obnoxious face. I do not have to move an inch. Alpha Mayor now has acquired a limited power to immunity against wolfbane and silver. And moreover, I doubt the gun has silver bullets.Ordinary bullets might inflict pain and even decapitate werewolves for a short period of time. Even so, it does not meant to kill one in a series of hits. The healing capabilities of our kinds made us invincible in front of useless guns unless bulleted by silver.“Amante, the volcano eruptions were a hoax. A year later, under the glorious moonlight, two shadows can be seen lurking at the top of Empire State Building in New York, USA. It was Amante with his mate Allyssa. They were observing the people gathered below for the New Year’s eve celebration. Right after the magnificent fireworks display, they stared at each other with generous smiles plastered on their faces. “Time has come, my love! I’m happy to be here beside you right now!” Amante whispered lovingly on his wife’s ears. Allyssa giggled like love-struck teenager when she felt butterflies in her stomach because of her husband’s words. “I love you!” was all she could answer to that. Amante POV “Take a look at that, Maziar. Those were the human beings werewolves have been wary about all their lives. Most of them does not even believe our kinds do exist.” We were at the city center, fitting ourselves with the bustling people around. I could sense Maziar’s discomfort. He was extremely anxious. “Serves him right.” The amusement in Amaltheo’s chuckle made me smile unconsciously. I turned towards the corner of a street where a street performance seemed to have caught everyone’s attention. Maziar followed behind hesitantly. I was not bothered by the idea that he might try to escape, and I guess, he knows why. As the night started to fade away, the crowd on the streets finally began to diminish as people go their separate ways. “See that, Maziar? Nobody notices our existence within the human populace. There was not a reason to hibernate in that barren, frozen la

Amante POVHaving been a quisling myself, I’ve masterfully acquired the tacit ways to get someone fooled; one, was to make the fool believe what isn’t true, and, the other was to make the truth as unbearable misery as possible that the ignorant would refuse to believe it himself.Maziar Brennan has the nerve to put me in such dilemma. If his goal was to plant doubts and mislead me, he had already succeeded halfway. My rationality was clouded with his poisonous truth, so intense that I almost found myself collapsing on the ground.I never wanted to be seen weak and vulnerable. It was degrading on my part to slump like the whole world has fallen down on me.But what else could be done?Maziar Brennan. The traitor that dared to kill me, stole from me, and challenged my ascendency was my first and only blood cousin!I have always thought I was the last of all Del Fuegos.

Even his followers were quiet and did not attempt to move a bit far from where I found them when I first appeared in front of them. I kept myself at bay, taking the risk of being too exposed but not at the mercy of any werewolves who would dare challenge me.Amaltheo, my spirit wolf on his glorious magnificence, was totally intimidating and looking as menacing as possible without much effort. The silver fur was glistening at the flickering firecrackers made by the bonfire at the center of the cave. The calf they were roasting was burnt for being left untouched from the fire consuming its shrunk meat. No one cared, or if there might be, they forcefully convinced themselves to stay away and let it burn and

Amante POVIt would remain a mystery on me how Maziar Brennan became the traitor I have been before. The things I did, the secrets I hide, and the betrayals I concealed before become his to endure, and as charged to my past experiences, it would lead him to nowhere but doom. There were so many things I would like to ask him. I should have it all written down on a piece of paper so it would have been easier for me, as I only needed to read it aloud. It was because, right now, I suddenly felt stupefied in front of him. I maybe as stunned as his petrified condition which made us both silent for a couple of seconds.Only the cracklings of the burning firewood and the heavy breathing of the werewolves inside this cave was the only noise that echoes around. Rather than attacking me as I had an

His anxiety was visibly pasted on his flustered face.“I would start by begging for forgiveness. We were like a real family having the best day of their lives together in the most common yet fulfilling corner of the house, the kitchen. As we started moving out, I scanned my surroundings. The bright moon had half appeared behind the darkened clouds. It was not very common to see stars in the sky of Antarctica. It was simply because of the harsh and most often violent climate of the weather. In here, the snow does not stop pouring throughout the year.I felt the chilly breeze from the icy squalls that dances along with the gentle wind.Mixed with the pungent and familiar scents of my packmates was the savory aroma of the roasted meat prepared by Kelvin for his sickly friend Lyka, the unica hija of the former Beta of Alpha K
