The Council.A moan escaped Sarah's lips as Rose had her head in-between her legs. "Mmm...Ah...I can't.." Were words Sarah repeated over and over again in ecstacy until Rose lifted her head and fell beside her on the bed. She had a small smile on her face as she stared at the ceiling. "I'm glad the Werewolf Hunters didn't take you." "They almost did." Sarah retorted through bated breaths. "Freya heard them coming and had us hide behind a tree." "Freya?" Rose mused, her smile broadening as she propped up herself with one hand. "I didn't think you two were on talking terms." Turning to her side, Sarah chuckled. "We weren't. But we settled our differences when we were forced to rely on ourselves." "Makes sense." Rose shrugged lightly and touched Sarah's face gently. "I'm really happy you returned to me safe and sound." "I told you I would, didn't I?" Sarah exhaled in relaxation and snuggled up to her. They stayed in that position for a few minutes before Rose recalled something.
The Council. While Ethan snuck out of the Council, Mariah found her way to the guest quarters where Cleopatra kept members of Blackwood Pack. It was an unusual time for visitors, as most werewolves were busy with pack activities or hunting. Consequently, the guest compound was inhabited solely by Blackwood Pack members.Hence, Blackwood Pack members were the only ones staying in the large guest compound. Mariah was stopped just outside by the two Council guards stationed outside. "I'm Mariah Armstrong from Blackwood Pack." The guards exchanged glances, and then they reluctantly moved aside to allow her entry. As soon as she got in, she couldn't help but notice how stiff the air was. The guest compound had a distinct layout. Two two-story buildings faced each other, flanking a smaller yet grander one-story structure in the middle. The one-story building was reserved for Alphas and important Betas, while the two flanking buildings housed regular pack members, gammas, and deltas. "You sent four highly trained werewolves to the Human City armed to the teeth to find Freya Armstrong?" Sarah couldn't believe her ears after being informed of Rose's whereabouts by Cleopatra. "I didn't come here for you to tell me if I did the right thing by sending them to the Human City. I came here to tell you because I know you'd be looking for Rose since she isn't in her room." Cleopatra replied with a small frown. They were currently in her office and her table which was usually filled with reports, had numerous reports stacked up so high that Sarah had to stand directly opposite her just to see her face. "I'm not angry that Rose is among the four people you sent to the Human City, I'm angry that you sent them to the Human City without informing the witches. Do you know how they'd react if four werewolves known to be notorious appears in their territory armed to the teeth?" Sarah huffed. Cleopatra intertwined her fingers together and pointed at the reports stacked at her si
Cleopatra hurried towards the guest quarters as soon as Hercules brought an alarming news to her. Previously, she had ordered the Council guards stationed outside the guest compound to report any happening to her, but never involve themselves with what was happening. So it was no surprise that she saw them doing nothing when she got to the guest compound and found two men breathing heavily as they grabbed every opportunity they got to deliver a hit to the other. "What the hell do you two think you're doing?" She yelled as soon as she stepped in. The pack members of Blackwood Pack didn't dare to stop her, but the excitement on their face as they watched the two men battle it out in the middle, was obvious. "I said, cut it out!" Cleopatra repeated, signaling Hercules to stop the fight. However, Sarah appeared with a timer. "I think you should let them fight."Her casual tone and action made Cleopatra pause. Sarah was one of the privileged children since she was the daughter of an
In front of Jerome Nichols' street was a black van. At the back of the van were the tied Werewolf Hunters. Cheyenne sat at the back of the van since she couldn't risk being seen in front of the van. In the driver's seat was Landon who had a cap on his head as he watched the quiet night boredly. "Is everything alright back there?" He suddenly asked, glancing at the mirror. Cheyenne opened the barricade and made an 'okay' sign with her thumb. Landon nodded and faced his front again. "I sent people to the old location and they returned saying there was nothing there. The location of the slaughterhouse was moved, wasn't it?" Cheyenne questioned the two men threateningly. Still scared out of their minds, the two men shook their heads vigorously. "I only came from the east recently. So I have no idea the slaughterhouse was moved!" The Caucasian one hurriedly said. "Yes, the location was moved. But I swear I have no idea where it's located!" The second man who was Asian said as well.
The Council.Cleopatra was in her office as usual when someone knocked on her door. The door was pushed open without her approval and Hezell took long strides inside. He first rubbed his neck, before settling his eyes on her. "You're so busy you have no idea someone has slipped out of the Council and is probably dead by now." "Some of the Council guards have returned. They patrol 24/7 everyday. If someone slipped out, they'd know and report to me. But they haven't reported anything to me." Cleopatra frowned, meeting his eyes for a brief second. Hezell shrugged with a downturned smile and took his seat opposite her. "Putting aside the fact you're implying that my eyes are wrong, are you trying to say someone who knows the Council like the back of her hand and has a strong motive for leaving the Council, won't use the opportunity the chaos yesterday brought to leave?" He questioned with a raised brow. Cleopatra's eyes narrowed as an image formed in her mind. She soon sprang up and r
Human City. To make the car he was in unrecognizable, Jerome Nichols had his security drive in the same car as him. His distraction worked as Landon and Neon had a hard time pinpointing which of the car he was in. Meanwhile, he sat in the backseat of the second Bentley with a woman. "The government has approved my petition to let me hunt anywhere for werewolves. I've not had such a pleasant news in a very long time." Jerome cackled as he got off his phone. He was used to the woman's silence, so he wasn't surprised that she didn't see the need to respond. "Talking to me more will do our partnership a lot of good. It might even lead to an increase in your salary." He added as his lips stretched into a wide smile. The woman had a face cap covering her face, but he could see that she had her eyes closed. "I'm fine with what you pay me, Mr. Nichols." She replied after a minute of silence and Jerome who was expecting her rejection, shrugged and turned his attention to the window. T
“Do you know her?” Cheyenne asked and pressed her lips tightly together. Landon could hear her heart slamming against her rib cage in fear and realized there was more to the story than she was letting on. “You're scared. What else are you keeping from me?” He leaned towards her reassuringly. “Her eyes. She doesn't have an iris. She only has the white, and they are bloodshot.” Cheyenne gulped down nervously. Bloodshot eyes? A familiar feeling tugged at Landon, but he was in no position to think properly nor recall where he had seen such before. “Get under the seat. We'll leave here once I'm done.” Landon exhaled and turned to leave. “You don't understand.” Cheyenne shook her head and hurriedly held on to his arm, her voice trembling as she added, “It's not safe to be in the same space as Hazel. Let's just leave here. We will be long gone before they notice.” Landon's lips slowly stretched into a smile as he placed a hand on hers. Then assured her with a gentle voice. “I'll be fi
