As we rushed down the stairs, Miranda appeared in front of me, blocking my path. I could feel the tension in the air as we locked eyes, both of us knowing that a fight was about to break out.

I had underestimated Miranda's skills. She moved with surprising speed and agility, her punches and kicks coming at me in rapid succession. I was caught off guard and stumbled backward, trying to defend myself.

Despite her lack of werewolf abilities, Miranda was a formidable opponent. She was quick, agile, and had years of training in hand-to-hand combat. But I was an alpha, and I had fought and defeated many opponents before. I wasn't going to let her take me down that easily.

I managed to get a few hits in, and soon we were both covered in sweat and bruises. It was a brutal fight, and I could feel my energy waning with every passing moment. But I refused to give up.

Just as Miranda was about to strike the final blow, I summoned all my strength and pushed her away. I didn't have time for this. W

~Miranda Pov~I couldn't believe what had just happened. My pack, the black bird wolves, had been attacked by the Moon Chaser pack. We had been caught off guard, and we suffered heavy losses. As the Alpha, I couldn't let this slide. I needed to know why they had attacked us, and I needed to take revenge.I called for a meeting with my most trusted members. We gathered in the pack's council room, and I could feel the anger and tension in the air. I took a deep breath and spoke. "We have been attacked by the Moon Chaser pack. They caught us off guard and took us by surprise. We have suffered heavy losses, and I want to know why they did this."The room was silent for a few seconds, and then my Beta, Thomas, spoke up. "Maybe they have started seeing us as a threat to them," he said. "We have been growing in power, and they saw us as a threat to their dominance."I nodded thoughtfully, considering his words. It was possible. But I wasn't convinced. "But we've not had any conflicts with th

~Leah Pov~I couldn't believe what I had just heard. Blake, my husband, was being held captive by the black bird wolves pack, and my own mother, Amanda, was supporting their actions. I confronted her, asking how she could do such a thing."Why would you support them?" I asked, my voice shaking with anger and confusion."Because they know what's best for the pack," she replied coldly."But Blake is my husband," I said, my voice rising. "How could you do this to him?"Amanda's eyes narrowed. "He's not your husband. You tricked him into chosing you over Sophia."I couldn't believe what I was hearing. "That's not true. Blake chose to marry me because he loves me.""He rejected Sophia because I feed him that you have a power Sophia doesn't possess," Amanda spat out. "You should be grateful for what I've done for you."I felt a wave of anger wash over me. "I never asked you to do anything for me," I said, gritting my teeth. "I wish you had died instead of Sophia's mother."Amanda's eyes fla

~Mia Pov~I couldn't help but feel uneasy as I paced around the small cabin. Leah had been gone for a while now, and I couldn't shake off the feeling that something was wrong. Derick and Sophia had surprisingly agreed to my proposal, and I was determined to use this opportunity to my advantage. The power balance had shifted, and I would try to manipulate their followers to support my cause.Positioned next to me, Derick's loyal rogues appeared guarded. They weren't willing to let their guard down, which I understood perfectly. I had caused their Alpha considerable trouble and hurt, and now it was up to me to rebuild their trust."Hey, you guys care for some wine?" I inquired with a friendly tone, trying to ease the tension in the room. They exchanged cautious glances, and one of them replied, "No, thanks."I noted their reluctance to engage with me on a personal level. It was clear that they were maintaining their professionalism, and perhaps a hint of suspicion lingered. I decided to press on, breaking through their defensive barriers."Come on
