Chapter 21 - Farewell Astraea Filling my travel mug with coffee, groan at the magic bean juice waking me up. Albot woke those who are traveling north to the Royal Pack up at four in the morning, wanting everyone fully ready to leave by five thirty. We plan to bring thirty wolves out of the two hundred that joined Astraea, these wolves already devoting their loyalty to me as the Princess and not as their Alpha. They know the risk, have been training with Matrix in the ways of the Royal Pack Warriors. “You okay sunshine.” Marcie asks, her tired yet happy eyes running up and down my body. “I. Want. Sleep.” With a grown between each word, I walk into her open arms and allow my friend to hug me. She will be here, taking care of Astraea while we are gone, and having the wolves train in case of any retaliation from Coro. “I know hun. Albot said he will drive your Hummer so you can get your beauty sleep.” She teases with a chuc
Chapter 22 – Royal Pack “So this is the Royal Pack Lands.” Alice asks, her eyes scanning the border as we approach a patrol. Albot had called ahead an hour ago, letting the liaison of the pack know our estimated arrival. Now, we just wait for the guards to do their inspections before gaining the okay to enter their lands “We still have two hours to go before we reach the palace.” I inform her, doing my best to stay quiet and inconspicuous. “Do you think the charm Cassandra gave you will work?” Albot sighs out with worry, his eyes never leaving the Royal Guards as they search through the many vehicles we brought, their watchful eyes making sure there is no threat to Alexander. I stay silent, a guard coming towards my hummer with a worried look on their face. Albot rolls down the window, his features a mask of calm as he greets the wolf in front of him politely. “Alpha Albot, it looks like someone had silver on them, could
Chapter 23 – Royal Ball Once again I find myself standing before the grand door way to the ball room, my pack being one of the earlier guests to arrive. I swallow nervously, the memories of that happened last time I stood here flooding through my mind like a movie set to fast forward. I feel dizzy, worried with a slight unease settling in my stomach. With so many wolves around I realize in this moment that w e have only one option and that is to kill Alexander or die trying. My pack is already mingling with those who came to witness a new pack make an alliance with their King, their curious gazes on Albot and I as I cling to his arm and try my best to steady my frantically beating heart. Thankfully, no one has recognized me but that can change drastically if Narin ever gets close to me. [You okay Crystalline?] Albot asks, his eyes searching mine. [No but I will be.] I admit, snuggling closer to his side and eyeing all the
Chapter 24 – Battle for the Throne I watch from the corner of my eye Alexander flirting with a she-wolf, the low cut of her ball gown already proving her intention is to seduce someone here. It wouldn’t surprise me is Alexander sneaks away for a few moments with her after the ceremony has ended but she will not get that chance. With ten minutes till midnight, I plan to take Alexander down without hesitation. Since their arrival my pack has interceded Narin when he has made his rounds around the ball room, always stepping into his path to chat and ask about the possibility of joining the pack and becoming guards. This gave Albot and I a chance to avoid my ex, even giving us a moment to introduce ourselves to Alexander with Albot taking the roll of Alpha of Astraea and me his mate. To think that man I called my father for eighteen years would be tricked by the charm to hide my identity and look at me with lust. A disgusting man like this does not deserve
Chapter 25 – Narin’s truth Sitting on my throne I watch as the maids of the palace run about happily chatting as they do their work. A week has passed since I killed Alexander, a week spent in settling the Royal Pack, weeding out traitors and fully accepting those who bend the knee to me into the pack. Everything seems like a blur, from throwing traitors into the dungeons to interrogating those that attended the ball to hosting a Zoom meeting with all of the Alpha’s around the world explaining the reason why Alexander was killed and my true identity. “Crystalline.” Albot calls out, his smile and soft gaze just for me as he approaches the throne, scooping me into his arms. The maids giggle, used to our display of affection for one another as he has done this many times in this stressful week. The worst part being when a maid walked in on us kissing on the balcony after me having a breakdown from the stress of dealing with traitors. “It’s
Chapter 26 – A declaration of War I glare at the wolf who dares challenge my decision of preparing the safe rooms through out the pack, the Head Warrior slowly shrinking back into his seat as he realizes that calling me a stupid little airhead was a mistake he could not afford. “Marco, it seems your retirement is coming up in a few years. Five if I am not mistaken.” Narin speaks from my left, he too glaring at the wolf that challenged me. “Th-that’s right Beta Narin.” Marco stutters out, a look of relief on his face. “Well, I think it should be earlier with how you have served the pack the last one hundred years as head of the Guards. See Butler Leo now and inform him her Grace has awarder you an early retirement. We can find your replacement later today.” I chuckle, secretly fist bumping my friend under the table as he defends me, watching as two Guards lift Marco from his seat and escort him out. True to his words, Nari
Chapter 27 - Realization Sitting by the river where I first shifted, I think about the note, about the Soulless who’s life was taken because of the cruel message my brother wanted to send to me. No wolf deserves it, deserves to be nothing more than an instrument of war. A war that is coming in just a few short weeks. “Crystalline?” A voice calls out, the owner coming into view from the thick forest behind me. His eyes scan the area until landing on me, the wolf coming to the river bank and taking a seat beside my curled up frame. “I needed a moment alone.” I mumble, resting my head on my knees. Narin sighs, bringing me to his side for a hug as we watch the water tumble over the rocks below. “Albot called Matrix. To think you created a pack and left that hyper wolf in charge to take over this place.” He chuckles out, a bubble of laughter escaping my lips. “I always planned to take the Royal Pack. Astraea w
Chapter 28 - True Mates We watched as Blake and Alice enjoy the warm sunshine, splashing in the river while we relished in the mate bond surrounding us. We have waited weeks for this moment, for Albot and I to become mates. We were in no rush to complete the process just yet as there is so much else on our minds. We have time to claim each other, knowing neither of us would give up on the love that slowly grew over the years from our friendship. “You two seem different.” Alice says as she makes her way towards Albot and eye, her head tilted to the left as she looks at out bodies snuggled together. “Different how?” I ask, smiling at my pup. “Your Auras, they blend together seamlessly now. Are you true mates?” She explains, her question surprising me. I knew the little girl held some sort of power, but to think it had grown so strong that she could distinguish mates together shocks me. “Yes, Crystalline are
Hello every one who has made it to the end. First off, I want to thank you all for reading my novels and joining me on a journy of rejection and finding one's true strength. I started this series as a way to cope with growing in a bad household and feeling like I was never good enough because of how a parent treat me while also dealing with the treatment of being rejected and cheated on.Writing about Amberle, Geminie and Crystalline gave me the strength to become a better, stronger version of myself and tought me about self love and finding those who I can call my family. In the end, I wanted to share this with the world. As you noticed, I call this a series because the truth is this one lone novel is actually 3 books in one. 3 books that I have taken the time to edit and rewrite to publish on reading apps like Goodnovel as well as publish them on amazon. It is thanks to amazing readers like you that I am now able to turn a hobby into a career as an author and publish my books to m
Chapter 38 – A New Destiny set in Motion "Mama who will be Queen?" Turning away from the window as I wait for Albot’s return, I look to find my daughters playing with their dolls by the thrones, their white hair resembling mine while each sport one brown eye like their father and one prism eye like me. Walking towards the twins, I crouch down to look at Arora who asked the question, slowly playing with her hair. Depends on who is fit for it.” I answer, standing up straight and picking Arora up in my arms. “Being a ruler isn't just about pretty dresses and golden tiaras. In our case, silver tiaras. We have to be fair and just rulers to the many packs. We have to solve problems and disputes before a war can start." I answer, gently tickling her sides as she lets out a giggle. I smile at my four year old pup, placing a kiss on her forehead as she giggles some more. "I hear giggling." Albot's voice calls out, a squeal of sur
Chapter 37 – Soul Returns Homes A soft steady beeping mixed the soft steady hum of another machinery floats into my ears, waking me from the deep sleep I had been put under after my visit with Morai. I groan, not wanting to be disturbed and feeling sore all over my body. Opening my eyes to see where the noise is coming from, I wince and quickly close them due to the bright light overhead. "Crystalline you're awake!" Albot's voice, although rough and hoars, fills my ears and a small smile plays at my lips. My mate is here, but he sounds tired. I feel his hand clasps mine and a kiss on my forehead leaving tingles where we touch. Definitely still my Mate. I try to say something, my mouth opening and closing but no sound comes out. My throat is sore and dry, as if I haven’t had a single drop of water in a long time. [Lights are too bright and I need a drink please.] I send to Albot through our link, squeezing his hand gently. There is so muc
Chapter 36 - A Date with Destiny I open my eyes to find myself in a room filled with books. Light filters in from above and I look to see an endless sky. Looking around confused, I wonder if my father sent my soul in the wrong place. "Sorry little wolf but I intervened for a moment." A childish voice has me turning to face a girl about fourteen years old as she carefully writes in an old leather bound book. Her hand flies over the pages, her face filled with focus on her task and I wait silently for her to be finished. With the slam of her book closing, I take a few steps forward. "Who are you?" I ask, watching the girl tentatively. Her violet eyes are soft and all knowing, as if this girl is someone who has lived many adventures. She stares at me with a serene smile, her little body slowly walking towards me until we are standing just a foot apart and she takes in my appearance from head to toe. "I'm gla
Chapter 35 – The Royal Family Bright light forces the darkness to fade and I find myself standing in the field of moon flowers I had just fought in. There is no signs of war before me and I wonder if what happened was a dream. “I see you are awake.” A voice I have longed to hear once more calls out. Turning around, I find my father leaning against a tree, his eyes filled with warmth. I rush to his side, my father pushing off from the tree to catch me in his arms as he hugs me tightly to him. The scent of the moon is on him and I smile, feeling the comforting embrace of a parent calm me. “You did good my pup. I am proud of you.” He whispers, stroking my hair. All I can do is nod, my voice constricted as I allow the tears to flow down my face. “Am I dead?” I finally am able to ask after some time has passed. “No. You are just in the in-between right now as your body heals. Now you have some people that want
Chapter 34 – Coro’s End The Trackers quickly descend from the trees surrounding the meadow, their agile bodies making quick work in slicing open their unsuspecting targes throat before they move on to the next. The hunters have paired up with a Royal Soldier, taking turns in attacking and defending the other as piles of dead Rogues fall to the ground. All around me are furs of various colours. At one point I caught sight of Amberle's fire coloured wolf and Dominic's ice coloured wolve rip apart a black Soulless before they disappear once again. I know my white fur is an easier target as I dodge and fight off multiple Soulless at a time. I find myself in an endless cycle of dodge, claw, bite, kill and retreat while leaving a trail of dead Soulless in my wake. My muzzle is now stained black by the foul blood of the decaying wolves but sadly I have grown used to the stench after an hour had passed in the battle. Witches began popping in and
Chapter 33 – The Final Battle The sounds of muffled footsteps behind me both in wolf and fur form reminds me that the final battle is only moments away. The sky is fading from the indigo of night to a darker blue with hues of red, purple and pinks on the horizon. [Remember to keep the link open to receive orders.] I hear Albot state through the open link, a resounding “Yes sir” from the hundreds of wolves joining us in this battle replying back. I smile, already seeing how great a King Albot makes. Once this war is over, I can plan his coronation and then together we can plan a wedding. It isn’t long until we make it to the meadow, the flower buds still closed waiting for the right time to bloom. I think back to the first time I met my father, watching the scene of my adoptive mother finding me in this verry field as well as the memories I have of the two of us running around and picking these flowers to decorate the palace halls. Now on the edge of the meadow, I can see Coro on
Chapter 32 – The Dawn of War Standing in the thrown room, a white suit with a white cape draped over my shoulders, I look outside the window as worry settles in. The stars are still out but as soon as the sun rises, all the moon flowers will bloom and the final battle in this war will begin. “You okay Darling?” Albot asks, walking forward with a mug of what smells like to be peppermint tea in his hand. I take it from him, thanking my mate before taking a sip of the much needed drink. “I’m nervous.” I sigh out, leaning into his touch as he wraps his arms around me. “I know. But we have been preparing for this moment Crystalline. We will win this.” Albot reassure me. Taking in his scent, I continue drinking the tea as we enjoy this final moment of calmness. Our scouts have already linked us that Coro is on the move, an army of Rogues and Soulless following behind him. It is only a matter of time before we have to leave and
Chapter 31 - A Sense of Normalcy Throwing Amberle over my shoulder, I smile triumphantly as the fiery haired she-wolf lets out a wince. For the past two days of training and meetings, she has teased me about Albot and our matting. How she expects to have her band of nieces and nephews grow soon after the war. This has just fueled me to want to kick her ass even more. “Geeze Crysta, go easy on me.” She groans out, pushing herself into a sitting position as she eyes me. “Are you going to stop teasing me?” I ask instead. “And ruin my fun, nope.” “Then I guess you are going to have to get used to finally having your ass on the ground all the time.” I shrug, getting a playful growl from the Alpha wolf in response. I roll my eyes, holding out my hand and helping Amberle to stand. Although I have been besting the she-wolf, I still sport a few scrapes and bruises myself from sparing with her. “So
