Daisy’s POV

“The prodigal friend returns,” Xavier’s cheerful voice broke a smile on my face.

After the incident at the hospital, I did the most cowardly thing ever, I hid away in my room.

Priya had tried to get me out of bed every single time but the zeal to move had been lost.

“Daisy, you really do know how to drive a man crazy,” Xavier shouted, jumping down from the rooftop.

I laughed, running into his arms as he squeezed me in a tight hug. I winced in pain, feeling his hand brush against the bruise that had formed on my back.

“Hi, Xavier,” I whispered, trying to keep my voice steady, feeling as my eyes watered from the pain.

“Hi? That’s all I get after you ran off like the roof was on fire,” he blurted out.

I will found it strange that Xavier barely knows about the things happening in the pack if it isn’t about horses.
