“Truths and trust, building lost hope,”

Daisy’s POV

We needed to have the conversation, but somehow I still wanted to delay it.

I knew it would be impossible to ignore it, but sitting here with him and seeing his face made me know I would do it all over again to save him.

“Tell me how it had been on the camp,” Hades asked in a low voice.

I nodded my head, my eyes filled with sadness as I recalled the memory I wished I could wipe some away.

I told Hades of Blair, our adventures and every beautiful thing we had done.

Hades had a sad look in his eyes when I mentioned Bertha.

He looked guilty, like it had been his fault that this had happened.

In some sort I saw the similarities in our broken lives.

Alec hated Hades because of who his mother was.

And the man I had thought to be my father hated me because of who my biological father was.

It was a twisted game of fate, but there was no way of escaping it.

“I never knew about his mother until I was ten,” Hades muttered.
