CHAPTER TWO

With a racing heart, Tessa rushed towards the fallen figure that laid on the dark. From the distance, Damon had an apprehensive look.

"Who is this figure?" Damon asked with a firm gaze.

With the speed of light, Tessa turned the person over. "Ohh! This is Sarah, a pack member."

Suddenly, Sarah's eyes flung open like a possessed demon. She also had a terrified look. "It's here. Believe me. It's coming here."

With a sense of suspicion, Sarah and Damon looked at each other. "Who's the destroyer?"

In a mere whisper, Sonia spoke with a shaky voice. "It is a mysterious creature from the ancestral lore. Its primary food are werewolves. The witches and the people of the underworld has summoned it."

Damon gnashed his teeth in rage. "First, we'd have to save her."

Without hesitation, Sarah nodded as she helped take her over to the Crimson Eye pack headquarters.

As they walked past the darkness, Tessa felt an unfamiliar spirit within their mist. 

She felt the presence of an evil entity.

Suddenly, Sarah's body convulsed violently. "The destroyer is here."

Just then, an ear deafening roar was heard, and fear engulfed the whole of Tessa.

"The destroyer," Damon growled in agitation, as he scanned through the entire forest.

Suddenly, a gigantic creature made its way out of the dark. It's eyes glittered like the red of blood.

Tessa suddenly felt numb. 

The enemy they had been searching for, was standing just before them.

The destroyer charged towards them with its mouth wide open.

"Run for your life!" Damon yelled at Tessa.

Without thinking twice, Tessa and Damon ran for their lives, while carrying Sarah between them. 

Even as they ran, they could feel the creature's hot breath.

Immediately they reached the headquarters, the pack members rushed out in readiness of war.

Without being told, they knew that their battle with the destroyer had just began.

Without fear, The Crimson Eye pack clashed with the destroyer. Their loud snarls and growls made sure to disrupt the peace of the night.

 Tessa, Damon, and the other pack members fought with so much dexterity.

Unfortunately, the destroyer wasn't like any rival that they had encountered in the past. It's claws were so massive that it could easily tear twenty wolves into pieces, at once. 

As the moment intensified, Tessa was lucky that the creature barely missed her arms.

Suddenly, Damon stepped forward in victory, as his wolf form out stood the others.

He pinned the destroyer's neck, while making sure that his teeth pierced through his scaly neck.

The creature wailed helplessly.

Without waiting further, Tessa and the other wolves took advantage of the situation, and began to strike from every angle.

Just as the thought that they had conquered the destroyer, the worst happened.

It's scales suddenly began to melt, revealing another form. It resembled a humanlike being.

Just then, Mario Anderson, the chief wizard, appeared before them, with evil shining through his eyes.

"You losers," Mario cursed. "I'm so sure that this'd be the worst decision of your miserable lives. So, you think you can destroy the destroyer?"

Immediately, Tessa's rage intensified. "You evil wizard, you've been renewing your blood by sacrificing our pack members."

Mario, the chief wizard, smiled evilly. "The ancient curse can only be appeased with werewolf blood. And with the destroyer by my side, I'll control all that happens in this city including all of your miserable lives!"

Damon rushed forward to hit him, but Mario raised his hand up, releasing a wave of evil energy that was as red as fire. 

Immediately, Damon staggered back with pain in his eyes.

 Without thinking twice, Tessa rushed towards his direction. "Damon! Are you okay?"

"I'm fine," he growled, while standing up to his feet, again.

Just as they made to go after Mario, he vanished into the nights darkness, while leaving them with a destroyed environment, and most of all, the evil presence of the destroyer.

As the rest of the pack disappeared, Tessa's father, John, immediately approached her.

"We have to discuss now, Tessa," he said with a firm tone.

"Father, what is the matter?" Tessa asked him.

John spoke to her with a whisper. "I received an anonymous message. They claim to know how to undo the curse, and they also know who the imposter, is."

At that moment, Tessa was speechless. "Who could that be?"

With a dead glare, her father responded. "Meet me at the inner chambers, at dawn. The truth would be unveiled."

Immediately she nodded, a figure watched her from the dark shadows.

It was the imposter.

At dawn, as Tessa made her way to inner chamber, her mind was filled with so many questions.

Who could the imposter be? 

What secrets did they know?

Mr John was already seated in anticipation of her arrival.

"Tessa, there's a snitch in our midst," he began with a whisper. "Someone among us has been supplying information to Mario."

Tessa gasped in shock. "Who could that be?"

John paused I'm slight hesitance, before speaking. "No other than Alex Jones, Jordan's father."

Tessa suddenly felt a bitter lump down her throat. The worst feeling came from knowing that Jordan was her best friend.

"No!," Tessa screamed in protest "This is unbelievable. Jordan can never..."

Suddenly, John's firm expression melted down. "You're right. However, the evidences are pointing at his direction. He has to answer for himself."

Tessa nodded in fear. She was going to warn Jordan.

Immediately she stepped out of the inner chambers, the first person that she saw was Jordan. She was crying at the corner.

"Jordan!" Tessa called out to her with urgency in her voice. "It's urgent. We need to talk, now!"

Without wasting time, Jordan followed Tessa to a private area.

"What's the matter?" Jordan asked with panic.

Tessa paused. "The information on ground, states that your father is the supposed imposter." 

Jordan froze in shock. "No! That's absolutely unbelievable!."

Immediately, Tessa held Jordan's hands. "We have to unveil this mystery together."

Jordan nodded with a look of determination on her face.

Immediately the investigations began, Tessa realized that the imposter mightn't be the accused.

Suddenly, Damon appeared out of nowhere.

"Tessa, I just made a new finding," Damon said, his voice low. "Mario plans to hold an evil ritual tonight. We have to stop him."

Tessa nodded in affirmation. "Together we stand!."

Damon smiled. "Together!"

For the first time in a long time, their eyes embodied a strange fire.

Unfortunately, the darkness had other plans.
