Chapter Twenty-nine

As we drove through the woods, my mind was racing with anger and frustration. How could someone dare attack my pack, my family? The scent of blood wafted through the air, and I could feel my hackles rising as we got closer to the scene of the attack. I couldn't wait to get out of the car and see what had happened to me.

As soon as we arrived, I stepped out of the car and took in the gruesome sight before me.

The first thing that hit me was the smell of blood. It was so pungent that it made my eyes water and my stomach churned. It was the kind of smell that invaded your senses and refused to let go. It was the smell of death, of loss, of violence. The metallic scent of blood mixed with the earthy aroma of wet soil. It was a sickening combination that made me want to retch.

It was as though the very air was thick with the stench of death. I could feel it in my lungs, the cold, sharp tang of it burning down my throat. The smell of blood was overpowering, and it was all I could focus on.
