Dalton’s POV

I leaned back in my office chair, a small, satisfied smile playing on my lips. Dinner with Daniella.

Not just dinner—at her place, she also wanted to introduce me to her daughter.

That meant something.

I turned my chair slightly, staring out the wide glass window of my office, watching the city skyline stretch out before me. Daniella’s child. A little girl, no doubt beautiful like her mother. I wondered what she liked, what would make her happy. A stuffed animal? A doll? A book? I wanted to bring her something thoughtful that would make her feel comfortable around me.

But as my mind wandered down that path, my thoughts inevitably shifted to Liam.

A deep sigh escaped my lips as I ran my hand through my hair. How the hell did Liam mess up so badly? He had a woman like Daniella—loyal, kind, strong—and he threw her away like she was nothing. Now, Liam didn’t even know he had a child—a whole daughter out there, growing up without a father.

I clenched his jaw, frustration simmer

Daniella’s POVAt exactly 7 PM, my doorbell rang.I steadied my breath before opening the door, my fingers lightly gripping the handle. The moment I swung it open, there he was.Dalton stood there, looking effortlessly charming in a dark button-down shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows and a pair of well-fitted jeans. His presence always carried an air of warmth, and ease, that made you comfortable in his presence.“Right on time,” I teased, stepping aside to let him in.“I wouldn’t dare be late,” he said smoothly, a slow smile tugging at his lips. He reached forward and handed me a single rose. “For you.”I blinked in surprise, my fingers brushing against his as I took it. I felt a flutter in my stomach which I quickly dismissed as nothing.“Thank you,” I said softly, inhaling its delicate scent. “You didn’t have to.”Dalton tilted his head, his eyes glinting with delight. “I wanted to.”I glanced down at myself, suddenly self-conscious of my loose jeans and oversized sweate

Liam’s POVI left Dalton’s office in a blind fury, my pulse pounding so violently that I could hear it in my ears. My hands clenched at my sides, itching to hit something—anything—to release the unbearable pressure building inside my chest. That smug bastard. That condescending, self-righteous son of a bitch."She’s done with you, Liam."Dalton’s words echoed in my mind like a relentless taunt. My breath came out ragged as I stalked down the street, ignoring the few people who cast wary glances in my direction."She’s moving on, Liam. Let her. And seriously speaking, she deserves better."I gritted my teeth. Moving on? With him? Was that what this was? Daniella, laughing, smiling, looking at another man the way she used to look at me? The thought made my stomach churn. I let out a bitter laugh, one that tasted of venom and self-loathing. Better? As if he was better. As if anyone could love her the way I did.Love.I halted mid-step, the realization slamming into me like a gut punch.I

Liam’s POVThe pounding in my head was relentless, a dull, persistent ache that refused to let me breathe without pain. My mouth was dry, my body sluggish. Hangover. A cruel, deserved punishment for the mess I had made the night before. The first thing I did after dragging myself out of bed was head to the kitchen, as soon as I walked in, my chef placed a strong, bitter cup of coffee in front of me without a word. He didn’t need to ask why I looked like hell. he never did and even if he did ask I never answered.I gulped down the first cup and asked for a refill which I took to my office. I sat in my office, staring at my phone, my grip tightening around the device as I debated making the call. This is pathetic. I shouldn’t be doing this. I shouldn’t care. But I did.The image of Dalton with Daniella had burned into my mind like a fresh wound, raw and throbbing. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw them—him smiling at her, her laughing, it drove me crazy.Without much pondering, I scroll

Liam’s POVThe restless fury in my heart refused to settle. No matter how many times I told myself I was being irrational, I couldn’t stop. I had made up my mind—Dalton would never have Daniella. The thought of them together burned like acid in my veins. I could see it so clearly—her laughter, soft and warm, directed at him, the way she once used to smile at me. The thought made my stomach churn.I leaned back in my chair, running a hand down my face as I exhaled sharply. I had already set things in motion. Patrick was on the job, and soon enough, I would know exactly what was going on in Daniella’s life. It wasn’t enough, though. I needed to do more. The contract with Riverdale Pack was dead. Terminating the agreement was reckless—I knew that. But the satisfaction I felt at knowing Dalton would suffer the consequences was worth it. He thought he could take what was mine? That he could parade Daniella around, as if she had never belonged to me first? He was wrong. My phone buzzed on t

NARRATORS POVThe air inside the Hollow Pack’s grand council hall was suffocating. Tension clung to the walls like a thick fog, a storm brewing beneath the heavy chandeliers that cast a dim glow over the long oak table. At the head of the table sat Liam Garvalle, his posture one of arrogance, his expression void of remorse. He leaned back in his chair, fingers drumming against the polished wood, as if this entire meeting was nothing more than a minor inconvenience.Across from him, Dalton sat trying to remain calm as Alpha of the Riverdale Pack he had to keep his emotion in check and not act on impulse like Liam was doing, but the way his fingers curled into his palm betrayed his growing frustration. He had known Liam for years—fought beside him, defended his decisions even when they were reckless—but today, he saw nothing but a man consumed by pride and something far more dangerous—obsession. The two councils, both from Hollow Pack and Riverdale Pack, were gathered, their expressions

NARRATORS POVAs soon as Alpha Dalton and his council departed, the tension in the council chamber was so intense as to seem almost tangible. The silence stretched as everyone remained silent and waited before Liam finally turned his piercing gaze on the elders before him. His jaw was taut, his shoulders rigid with barely contained frustration."I must say," Liam began, his voice deceptively calm, "I am surprised to see my own council wavering in their stance. Were you truly considering taking Alpha Dalton’s side against me?" His tone sharpened on the last words, his eyes scanning the room for any sign of weakness.Elder Harrick cleared his throat. "It is not about taking sides, Alpha," he said carefully. "Your decision was so abrupt. You cast away an alliance with Riverdale without a second thought. We need allies, not adversaries. Our enemies watch us closely, waiting for any sign of weakness. We cannot afford to be reckless."Liam exhaled sharply through his nose, his patience thin

The warm afternoon sun bathed the small garden in golden light as the laughter of two children echoed in the air. Daniella and Grace sat on a wooden bench, watching their little ones chase each other around the yard. Daniella exhaled, a slow, contented sigh. "They really are something, aren’t they?"Grace smiled, watching Ethan topple onto the grass with a triumphant yell as Sophie tumbled down beside him, both of them breathless and grinning. "They remind me of us when we were little. That same fierce loyalty. Like nothing in the world could ever come between them."Daniella nodded, warmth blooming in her chest. "I hope it stays that way."“Hopefully it will” Grace commented with a smile, tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear. “It’s adorable.”Daniella nodded, her eyes following the children as they tumbled into the grass, giggling uncontrollably. “It really is. Seeing Sophie this happy makes everything feel worth it.”Grace studied her friend’s expression, noticing the slig

It was mid-afternoon when Alpha Dalton and his companions arrived at their pack. He had already called his beta and asked him to inform all the senior officers of the pack about an urgent and impromptu meeting with them as soon as he got back. Immediately he arrived at the Riverdale pack, Dalton strode into the council chamber with the elders that accompanied him to the Hollow pack, he wore a grim expression as he took his seat at the head of the long oak table. The room was already filled with the elders of his pack, as well as his Beta, Humphrey, and Gamma, Tobias including the head of the pack patrol. He took his seat at the head of the long wooden table, fingers steepling as he exhaled slowly. “I won’t waste your time,” he began, his voice firm, cutting through the murmurs. “The meeting with Alpha Liam was a disaster. He has unilaterally decided to cancel our long-standing contract without reason. I don’t need to tell you what that means.”That kind of recklessness isn’t just di

The cell door creaked open with a groan that echoed through the narrow corridor, the iron hinges protesting the movement. Arya stepped out, her heeled boots clicking sharply against the damp stone floor. Her posture was elegant, commanding—her chin tilted ever so slightly upwards in that familiar way that made her seem like royalty in a place that reeked of rot and fear. She turned to the guards, her lips curling into a tight smile.“Lock the cell,” she ordered coolly without glancing back. “I don’t want any accidents.”The guards nodded silently and pushed the thick iron door shut with a deep metallic clang. One of them turned the key with a rough twist, and the deadbolt snapped into place with finality. Arya stood still for a moment, watching them with feigned patience, her hands clasped lightly behind her back.“The trial is scheduled, correct?” Arya asked in a silk-smooth tone, as if she were inquiring about afternoon tea, not the brutal torment of another living being.“Yes, my

“Arya…” Elizabeth’s voice rang out, quiet but clear, halting Arya’s retreat.Arya stilled, her hand on the door’s iron handle. “What?”Elizabeth swallowed hard, her voice cracking beneath the weight of pain and disbelief. “Why?”Arya paused mid-step. Her fingers curled around the keys at her hip. She did not turn.“Why what?” Arya asked, her voice smooth and clipped, though it carried an edge.“Why go to such desperate measures to get rid of us?” Elizabeth’s voice trembled with hurt and confusion. “Do you hate us that much? Why pretend? Why go so far? Was all of it a lie?”Arya stood still, her back to the bars. For a moment, Elizabeth thought she might walk away, might ignore the question entirely. But then Arya turned slowly, her brown eyes glowing faintly in the dim torchlight. There was a sneer on her face, cruel and cold, but beneath it, Elizabeth saw something else—bitterness, long-nurtured pain, and something dangerously close to heartbreak.“You really want to know?” Arya aske

The damp chill of the underground cell gnawed through Elizabeth’s thin, torn tunic, and the stench of mold and decay lingered in the air like a curse that refused to be lifted.Chains rattled faintly with her every movement, and little Habibah lay curled in her mother’s lap, her breath warm against Elizabeth’s bruised skin. Elizabeth’s fingers ran slowly through her daughter’s tangled curls, each strand a small comfort against the storm of fear in her chest. For a brief, aching moment, there was silence. Suddenly, the silence broke. The sound of heavy boots echoed down the corridor—slow, deliberate, merciless. Elizabeth stiffened, her hand tightening around Habibah. The child whimpered.A cruel laugh drifted through the air, low and mocking, bouncing off the cold walls like a specter.“No,” Elizabeth whispered, eyes lifting toward the cell bars. “Please, not again.”The shadows moved, shaped themselves into a familiar figure. A woman stepped into the dim torchlight, flanked by three

Elizabeth sat cross-legged on the cold stone floor, her back against the heavy, fortified wall of the secret chamber. “Will Papa really come back soon?” Habibah whispered for what felt like the tenth time, her voice barely a breath.Elizabeth gave a small, reassuring nod. “Your father said to stay put. He’ll come for us when it’s safe. We just have to trust him.”Habibah bit her lip, glancing nervously at the heavy steel door that kept them hidden from the chaos outside. The chamber had been built centuries ago as a refuge, and it was nearly impenetrable, soundproof, and sealed tight. Until—A sound broke the heavy silence — the soft, unmistakable creak of footsteps approaching.Elizabeth stiffened immediately. She pressed her hand gently to Habibah’s arm, signaling her to stay silent. Both of them leaned in, hearts pounding so hard it was almost deafening in their own ears. The door handle shifted, moving slightly.Habibah's breathing quickened, and Elizabeth gripped her hand tightl

Three years had passed since little Habibah was birthed and welcomed into the Emerald Pack. In those years, she had blossomed like a rare flower, her laughter ringing like bells across the pack grounds. The pack loved her fiercely — not only because she was the Alpha’s daughter, but because there was something radiant about her, she had a bright and untamed spirit with the gentleness of her mother, Elizabeth, and the fire of her father, Czar.Elizabeth, her mother, watched her every day with quiet awe. Sometimes, she would run her fingers through Habibah’s dark curls and wonder how such a miracle had come into their lives after all the pain they had endured.Czar, the Alpha, was no different. He had vowed since the day Habibah was conceived and born that he would protect her with everything he had—even if it cost him his life. But these were troubled times. The werewolf territories were embroiled in an endless war — pack against pack, hunters against wolves, betrayal seeping into once

Elizabeth basked in the glow of an expectant mother, she could not be more thankful for the peace, joy, and love that found her. She and Alpha Czar counted the days till the birth of their child, until word arrived that the Willow Creek Pack — an ally under Emerald's protection — had been attacked, the news shattered the pack's peace, especially that of Elizabeth. Alpha Czar knew his position and wasted no time. Without hesitation, he assembled his warriors; his vow to all allied packs must be fulfilled no matter the cost or consequences. "Under my watch," he had sworn, "no friend shall fall alone."Elizabeth, heavy with child and only weeks from her due date, had begged him to stay. But duty was a jealous, unyielding master. Alpha Czar kissed Elizabeth's forehead, lingering there a little longer than usual, his hand pressed over her swollen belly. His voice, low and steady as he made her a promise, “I’ll be back before you know it, my love. You and our little one — you’re my world

Czar's parents, welcomed Elizabeth with open arms. Their trust in their son's judgment was unwavering. “He’s never made a decision that endangered this pack,” he told the council once. “If he sees a Luna in her, then so do I.”The majority of the pack mirrored this sentiment, embracing Elizabeth as one of their own. However, not all shared this enthusiasm. A few elders from the high council murmured amongst themselves. They saw her lineage—or lack thereof—as a threat to tradition. A Luna should come from a bloodline of power, they argued. Not from nowhere.“We do not doubt your leadership, Alpha,” Elder Harran had said, rising to speak. “But a Luna must come from strength. Her background is unknown. How can we be certain she is the right choice?”Czar had risen slowly, his frame imposing, his voice calm but razor-edged."Have I ever led this pack into ruin?" he asked, locking eyes with each elder."No, Alpha," they replied in quiet unison."Have I not fought, bled, and sacrificed to k

The forest had always whispered ancient secrets, but Elizabeth had never expected to be part of one. She’d only wanted to explore some of the old trails beyond the marked boundaries. But somehow, she’d wandered too far, drawn in by the haunting beauty of the wild and the unearthly quiet. Trees loomed like sentinels, and the shadows stretched deeper than they should have. Before she knew it, a group of imposing men had surrounded her. They moved with eerie grace and frightening precision, their eyes glowing with something primal. She hadn’t even had time to scream before she was bound and blindfolded, the cold roughness of rope scraping her skin. When the blindfold was finally removed, she found herself in a cold stone cell deep within a prison under the Emerald Pack's stronghold.****************That was the first time Alpha Czar laid eyes on her.He was there for a routine inspection, flanked by two of his guards. ALMOST 30 YEARS AGO Many, many years ago, before the moon ever looked kindly on the Emerald Pack, before it bore the name that would inspire awe across the territories, it had another name — one spoken only in hushed tones by the old and the haunted. Once, it was a place of shadows and fear, ruled by a tyrant whose reign had withered every shred of hope from the hearts of its people. His name had long since been erased from the histories, not out of ignorance, but out of deliberate intent. The pack had chosen to forget. This alpha, cruel and insatiable in his thirst for power, ran the pack with an iron fist. He saw his members not as family, but as tools — to be used, to be discarded, to be punished. Families lived in fear, mothers whispered warnings to their children, and warriors bore scars not only from outside battles, but from within. The woods that now stood tall and proud were then filled with silent dread. But change, as it often does, came from the unlikeliest of places. He h
